Utah Jazz Fall To No. 5 Pick In NBA Draft Lottery

I’m at JCW’s here in Herman where we hosted an NBA draft lottery party this afternoon. Everybody was here having a great time, slamming burgers and shakes. Everybody was doing really well. And as you can see right now, as you look around, the party is dead. Uh, everyone was hoping that the Jazz would get the pick the chance to pick Cooper flag in the upcoming NBA draft, but the news was tough. This is exactly how it all played out. The fifth pick in the NBA draft will be made by the Utah Jazz. Ah, the Utah Jazz had a 47 12% chance to get the fifth pick and that’s exactly what happened. Devastating news for the franchise and fans just had to endure a painful 7 and 65 season. So, this is tough to take only to watch the Dallas Mavericks who had a 1.8% 8% chance in odds and moved up 10 spots. The Spurs moved up to second. The Sixers were third. Here’s reaction to the tough news from Utah Jazz general manager Justin Xanic. Of course, you know, everyone has high hopes. In reality, it was a 14% chance to get the number one pick. Frankly, another team obviously with a lot less odds than us. They were the first time they got the first uh the number one pick tonight, too. But the rebuild is on track. It always has been. uh whether we got number 1 2 3 four or five, this is a good young player and a very very good draft that we’re excited about. And so take this opportunity that we’ve been given and make the best of it in terms of making the best selection that we can and make the best decisions to move this organization into a championship competitive place. So the Utah Jazz will try to make lemonade out of lemons. Tough break for the Utah Jazz. They will select fifth in the draft. Now we can focus on who they may take. And who knows what Danny A and Justin Xanic may do in the off season. Maybe they’ll go in a completely different direction and try to trade for some players. We don’t know what they’ll do. But now at least they can make a plan moving forward. They know where they’re going to draft. So tough night for the Utah Jazz. We’ll see how they handle it. We’ve been waiting for this night for so long. And I’m going to drown my night in the double cheeseburgers. How’s that sound, JJ? Get a chocolate shake. Go get a shake tonight. There you go. Drown your sorrows in that. Thanks JJ.

The Utah Jazz learned they will be picking fifth in June’s NBA Draft after the results of Monday’s Draft Lottery.

After finishing with the worst record in the NBA at 17-65, the Jazz entered the lottery with a 14 percent chance of drafting first, a 13.4 percent chance of drafting second, a 12.7 percent chance of drafting third, a 12.0 percent chance of dating fourth, and a 47.9 percent chance of falling to fifth.
