Hopeless Wizards Fan Watches the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery

Well, everybody, welcome back to AP Entertainment. I am your host AP and welcome to my third annual NBA draft lottery live reaction. And thank you for joining me and the other 28 Wizards fans that are left alive for truly the only day in the sports calendar that matters for us Wizards fans. It is the NBA draft lottery. It’s when we have the possible hopes of getting the number one pick, but instead end up getting one of the worst picks possible for our slots or the number two pick in one of the worst drafts in the last 25 years like last season. Now, in the intro here, they did just say that it is the 40-year anniversary of the NBA rigging the lottery for the Knicks to get Patrick Huan. Please, dear Jesus, on the 40th anniversary, Adam Silver, save the franchise, give the fan base. There’s all these young kids in the district, in the DMV that want a team to root for. They don’t want to go out of market. They just go out of market because the team is trash. Please rig it. Give it to us. We deserve it. There’s really no other fan bases in sports that deserve it as much as us. There’s a couple. I mean, we’re talking Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Browns, Charlotte Hornets. I know you guys are in the mix tonight, too. For the 15 Hornets fans that are alive, even less than us. That’s the type of company that I find myself in year after year. I am 32 years old. And the highlight of my NBA fandom is making it to game seven of the second round. This is a team where generations of families, fans, generations haven’t seen this team win 50 games. Do you know how easy it is to win 50 games in the NBA? Half the teams don’t even play their best players out the season. 13 minutes and 35 seconds to the reveal and I’m already too fired up. I’m going to take a break and I’ll be back to get my heart broken. All right, guys. Guys, we’re just a couple of minutes out here. Uh, look, man, I’m out here grinding like everyone else. I would really appreciate that. The good thing about tonight is like I’m so far down the apathy path with this team as a fan that if if we don’t get Cooper and Let there be no mistake. This is number one pick or nothing. Like there’s this is a deep draft. There’s some nice players after number one, but we don’t need nice players. We need guys that we can insert and make a serious run at winning the East. Finally, there’s this, you know, if we get a guy other than Coupe, we’re going to be right back here next year as guys just continue to get better. Uh we ain’t got time for that anymore, man. Like, I’m getting old. You see the grays? You see the grays? We ain’t it. It’s got to This is the time. We’ve earned it. We better not upset like Jordan Pool to this, bro. I might turn it off as Jordan Pool’s there. Hey, Baltimore own Bub in the house. All right. I like that. I like that pick a lot. Let’s go. Oh man, Utah sent a woman. If we don’t get the number one pick, the only thing I’m interested in is just take taking Derek Clean from Maryland so I can root for him. He was such a fun player to watch this year for the Turpps. Like that would that would be something I would enjoy. Other than that, is Cooper nothing for me? I’m just keeping it real. Two teams jumped in the top four already. That’s not good. Oh my god. We’re going to get six. We’re going to get six. This is such [ __ ] Number seven. All right, there goes seven. We’re officially on the clock. I can’t believe we’re going to get [Music] six picking six. The Washington Wizards and suddenly Jared McCerazz And now we have our final buckets, theers, the top. Well, everyone, thanks for joining me tonight. And it looks like the only video I’ll be making next year is going to be for the 2026 NBA draft lottery. What a sick, sick joke. The NBA has officially lost a franchise as far as interest goes if it wasn’t already there. Apathy. Just straight apathy. [ __ ] With the number six pick, maybe I’ll get my Derek Queen Dairy Queen wish. Wow. Got number six, bro. That’s hysterical. I’m out. I can’t even do it anymore. [Laughter] The NBA, bro. The NBA is officially the WWE. I told y’all that [ __ ] was rigged. I told y’all. I knew it. I knew Adam Silver did the Luca trade. This was the tradeoff. It was in front of us all this time. I was trying to figure out how was Dallas going to get paid off for this. How are they How was it going to be to help them move to go to Vegas? How is the NBA going to pay off Dallas for trading Luca to the Lakers? Huh? Well, we just found out. It was clear as day. I don’t know what I was thinking. I don’t know how I didn’t even see this coming. We should have all just went into the night knowing that this was the only way it was going to end. The rich get richer. Woo! Man, it must be nice. the best European or white Europe, whatever the you want to call Luca the for the last six, seven years and then just immediately get replaced with and [ __ ] they had Dirk before that and now they have the best white American prospect in like 50 million years just as an immediate reward. Oh man, do I love the NBA. What a great league. Woo.
