What’s Missing from the Houston Rockets? | Is Jalen Green That Guy?
that we have to remember is Jaylen Green took a step forward as a shooter. He really did. He was a much better three-point shooter this year. He is potentially moving in the right direction as a three-point shooter. I think he’s always going to be an explosive player first and a shooter second, but there are there is a long list of players who have improved. Michael Jordan became a much better three-point shooter with time and with work. There is a chance that if you give Jaylen time, he’ll go from 35% three-point shooter to a 38% free and you’re 38% from three and you’re a 24 point per game scorer. You know, that’s that’s not bad. I’ll take 38 all day long. So, I mean, he took he took the step up. He’s a 30. That’s what I said. He’s 35. He he could take the step to 38 next. The problem is I don’t know how long you have to wait for for that to h like, do you want to keep waiting for that to happen? Well, it sure would be. listen, averages 20 points a game in his entire career, but it’s the inconsistency that’s so maddening.
We break down the evolution of Jalen Green’s shooting game and ask the big question:
Has he taken a real step forward, or are we still waiting on promise to become production?
🏀 A Step Forward from Deep?
Jalen Green showed improvement from three this season, climbing to around 35%.
Is he finally turning the corner as a reliable perimeter threat, or is this just a hot stretch?
🚀 Still More Explosive Than Efficient
Jalen remains an explosive athlete first, shooter second — and that might never change.
Can he follow the path of stars like Michael Jordan, who became better shooters with time?
⏳ The Patience Problem
If Jalen hits 38% from three and scores 24 a night, that’s real value.
But how long are the Rockets willing to wait for that version of him to show up every night?
Despite averaging 20 PPG over his career, his inconsistency continues to frustrate fans and coaches alike.
⚠️ Can You Count on Jalen Green?
We close with the big-picture question:
Can the Rockets truly rely on Jalen Green to be a consistent difference-maker in big moments?
Do you believe in Jalen Green’s long-term potential? Or are the flashes just not enough anymore?

Rockets are not that close to being a real championship contender. Right now the team seems like it has "score points" mode and "play great defense" mode and rarely the twain shall meet. I'd hang onto Sengun and Thompson and be willing to blow up the rest. Jalen Green strikes me as a fool's gold, Monta Ellis type.
