What The Next Steps Are For The Mavericks To Build Around Cooper Flagg | DLLS Mavs Podcast

What are the next steps for the Mavericks to build around Cooper flag? We’ll break it all down coming up next on the DLS Mavs podcast. Hey, what’s up DLSS Mavs Nation? It’s your man Kevin Gray alongside Mavericks beat writer Tim Ko, Mavericks analyst Bobby Carella, and our National NBA insider Mark Stein. We of course are DLLS Mavs. Appreciate you joining us here on DLLS Sports. What are the next steps for the Mavericks to build around Cooper flag after winning the NBA draft lottery? Plus, we’ll answer some burning questions a little bit later on in our show and get into some mock trades that our guy Bobby Carella cooked up to find the Mavericks some guard help on this wonderful Wednesday. Gentlemen, Tim Ko, what’s going on? I’m doing lovely. What type of uh am I involved in any of the trades, Bobby Carrella? Uh, hope so. Can’t spoil it. Wow. You’ll have to find out next segment. Okay, but you might as well pack your bags. You’re going to regret this so much. I’m going to I’m going to have a Quinton Grimes like uh arc. You got to give to get in this league, Tim. You got to give to get. Stars up 3-1. Let’s go, boys. Carella, how we feeling on this Wednesday? Fantastic. Fantastic. M Granland, I’m naming my first born and second born after you, man. Another hat-tick for the Stars. He got the natural hattick last night as the uh Stars take a three games to one lead on the Winnipeg Jet Winnipeg Jets. One game away from reaching the Western Conference Finals. A natural hat-tick if they scored in the middle, though. That’s not a natty Hattie. An Addatty Hattie is three straight. Three straight. Ranton and scored an Addy Hattie. That’s right. Okay. That’s right. Okay. Okay. Uh but Grant with another hat. I thought I had just learned about this and then all of a sudden it was it just changed for you. My my entire foundation of what Bing Bong is right being challenged. Uh Mark Stein, what’s going on? How you feeling on this Wednesday? I’m good. I’m good. Good. All good with you guys. All is well. Somebody’s got their physical die hard card ready for later on in the show. Shout out to you. Getting this getting this weight up. Getting the strength up. Just be careful bashing into the table. He might break the table uh a little bit later on. Uh let’s jump into it today, gentlemen. Obviously, the Mavericks fans still feeling the high after winning the NBA draft. I’m sure Mavericks feel like they won the damn lottery after Look, they don’t care uh at this particular point because it was in their favor with the Mavericks and their 1.8% chance of winning the lottery. It’s rigged. Were able to do so on Monday. Only four teams have ever won with less than a 2% chance. That’s right. You guys name the other three. Chicago, Atlanta rigged Orlando, Chicago and Atlanta and then the Orlando and 93 rigged Chris Weber draft they actually traded Chris Weber to Don Nelson’s Golden State Warriors on draft night for Anthony Hardaway. That is correct. Derrick Rose to the Bulls in 2008. Chicago’s own Cavs. The Cavs. The Cavs Irving draft. No, it was the Wiggins draft. Oh, that’s right. third time they won in a span of four years. That was mysterious, Mark. And then they traded Wiggins for Kevin Love two months later. And now in 2025 with a 1.8% chance after winning the coin flip with the CHGO Bulls, it’s rigged. Well, now that the Mavs have won the lottery, gentlemen, that’s how we jump into our show today. How has it changed your shortterm and long-term view of the team? Let us know in the chat how you feel like the Mavericks winning the lottery has changed your long-term and short-term view of this team knowing that they have the right now to select Cooper Flag. Gentlemen, how has it changed the short-term and long-term view for you going forward? There there’s a pretty obvious lesson to learn from the NBA postseason that’s going on right now uh from the new CBA and what it’s going to do to roster construction. If you have any chance to win now, you try to win now. That is Dallas’s MO. That is what they will be doing. Cooper Flag adds to that. Uh there I think there’s a lot of questions about how to win now. But if you win the number one pick, you got a player like Cooper Flag, you’ve got a roster that has veterans. I don’t think it’s two timelines necessarily because Cooper Flag helps you immediately. And yeah, of course, he’s going to get better. I mean, he’s 18, but you plug him into this team and the entirety of Cooper Flag’s, you know, first eight years in Dallas in all likelihood are going to be competitive. They’re going to be various versions of Dallas trying to win instantly, uh, while building around him in in various ways. how they go about doing it this year. Um, you know, how they go about it this summer is is is going to be, you know, I think that’s that’s where all the questions lie. But, you know, I I think I think as we see title favorites fall, as we see uh, you know, just how difficult playoffs are, but also how unpredictable they are and and how much par is is spreading around. Yeah. You’re bringing Cooper Flag here to win. Not not to not to spend a few years rebuilding around him. You’re bringing him here to win. Is that picture real that’s going around of him in a Luca t-shirt? Is that legit? I have a Mav shirt. It’s a MA shirt. I thought it was a Luca. Somebody said it was a Luca t-shirt. I don’t think it’s a Mav shirt. It’s like the old logo. Yes. Apparently, it is real. Uh, as far as I understand. Uh, in fact, I think Cooper Flag actually liked the photo as well when it was posted. So, but he looks so young and it was probably taken like three years ago. I mean, he is only 18, so there is also that. Bobby, for you, how does it change the long-term and short-term view of this team? Everything. I mean, you know, a couple weeks ago, I was sitting in here on a very stormy day explaining why, you know, in great detail why I had said the previous show that I didn’t think, if you asked me today, I the power of hedged language, folks. If you asked me then, I did not think the Mavs would even make the plan next year. I mean, this is a team that was going into a um without without some good old-fashioned luck or pingpong magic, uh would not have had a chance to draft probably an all-star caliber player in this draft. Um, now they have one. They have a guy that could be a generational prospect. Who knows? But, you know, leading into that, they were staring down a season where they’re already flirting with the apron. They have uh you know depending on who you think is better between Kyrie and AD their one of their best players is out for maybe the whole season but certainly at least half of it and the other one has a poncho for missing a lot of games himself. Um and we just saw them limp to the finish line you know playing eight guys down the stretch that went 13 and 20 after the all-star break. It was terrible. I mean they were just a or maybe even worse. I forget what their record was post allstar but it was bad. It was very very bad. Um, you know, and now if all goes well, they could definitely be in the position to depending on how much time Kyrie misses, make a push for a top six seed potentially. You know, they still need a lot of health. They still need to make some moves. And we’re going to talk about that next segment, but like they have a very realistic path to the playoffs next season. And again, this runway that we all believe that they traded away whenever they traded Luca for AD, uh, they traded 10 years for two years. Now all of a sudden, you might have 10 years or more again. And it’s just it’s a beautiful feeling. The issues really are it’s the West. The West is just so damn stacked and like we don’t know at this point will Giannis Antakmpo stay with the Milwaukee Bucks or will he formally ask his way out? I mean, can you can you imagine if a team from the West acquires Giannis to make the West even deeper? And you know, the East is just in this period of vulnerability and the reigning champions just lost Jason Tatum for presumably all of next season in addition to their current title defense. And so that that’s really where the challenge is for the Mavs is that the West is just it took 48 wins to get the eighth seed this year for Memphis. And so I don’t I don’t know that that’s changing anytime soon. I just think the West is gonna remain a not not inviting landscape. I think the Mavs being a little better and the Spurs potentially being a lot better could bring some of those wins down. But yeah, I mean, you got to finish well above 500. I mean, Texas, the Texas triangle is going to be as formidable as it’s ever been. We are so back because I hate it. But the the winds coming down doesn’t it doesn’t help Dallas. It just makes things look a little bit more achievable. Yeah. But that war of attrition is still going to be dealt out to everybody in the conference. Doesn’t make it easier. In fact, I still think it makes it harder even if 48 isn’t going to end up being the eighth seed. For the short term, this is obviously the biggest home run that the Mavericks could have swung and gotten with this winning of the NBA draft lottery because more import more so than anything, the morale of a fan base has been boosted tremendously given the amount of adversity that they have watched this team go through, whether it be self-inflicted or not. Now, this fan base has some glimmers of hope to be able to get behind. Not to say that this roster is a championship roster by any means, but there are building blocks now going forward. and the foundation of having a potential 18-year-old superstar on your hands for the next four to five years. It gives you now a window to find a way to not only compete now, but hopefully in the future as well. And my hope would be for Nico Harrison moving forward that he figures out the best way to thread a needle that allows this team to compete now, but also put this team in the best position to move forward if and when he is not with this franchise uh leading it from a basketball operation standpoint because that to me is the responsibility now that is on his hands is that he’s been given a reprieve to set up this team now but also hopefully in the future no matter if he’s here or not. And to me, both for the long term and the short term, that should be the goal is to find the best way to get this team in position uh to succeed whether he’s here or not uh going forward. I mean, what what what does he need for that? Uh chances to create on the ball, put the ball in his hand and and go score. Well, as things stand right now, I don’t know who else is going to do it for the first 50 games of the season. That’s part of his go to work, you know, like Yes, of course. Of course. I agree with you and and this this is how to thread that needle is is the question and and how to go about um you know do you need more spacing in in in shooting? Do you need to play smaller? Do you need Cooper you know as a as more of a four next to Anthony Davis or you know as a you know three but but at least next to PJ Washington and Anthony Davis rather than Anthony Davis and Derrick Lively or Danner Gaffford. Uh I think these are all good questions. uh the the type of the type of point guard, the type of creator that you’re looking for. Are you looking for someone like Colin Ston who is much more capable of going and getting himself a bucket? uh not quite the floor general as someone like Chris Paul who you know potentially maybe I mean he was not whatsoever on a minimum contract last season with uh with San Antonio but we’re now getting to the point where contractually it might be a little bit easier to to go sign a a Chris Paul and add him to the team. That’s someone who’s going to do a good job setting stuff up. He’s a winner. you know, he just every sing I know I know in the postseason all his failures. Chris Paul is one of the most underrated players in in league history in terms of how he elevates teams and you know that that makes a lot of sense. Uh so so I I think that I think there there are a lot of really interesting good questions about how this is actually going to look and how this is going to go. Um, it’s just a matter of uh just a matter of uh I mean I think we all have to talk about them and decide what we think is best. Um not that we have any control over everything, but I’m I’m still formulating even what I think makes sense for this team uh this summer and and and beyond. Yeah, it’s still I mean they’re still in the same situation where they basically only have the minimum to offer unless they do some other you know get into some other shenanigans. Um, and you know, all of basically every team in the playoffs is competing for those same guys on the minimum. So, it’s come down to what these guys value. Someone like Chris Paul played this season in San Antonio. Coming out of the previous season, everyone was kind of like, is he like done? Like, is he just like super duper ultra turbo wash? He goes to San Antonio, has a really good year now. 82 games. Yeah. I mean, it’s incredible for a guy his age to do that. Breaking news. Cooper Flag is holding a media availability at the draft combine right now as we speak. Oh my god. I don’t know any quotes that have been said yet, but Tanner, get on the scene. How how fast can you get to Chicago? There are picture there are there are pictures of a media throng around Cooper flag. Wow. All over the timeline. But like it’s kind of like, okay, you know, Chris Paul could go back to LA. He could go to New York. He could go play for a really good team. He could go play in a great climate. He does he value getting minutes? Does he value winning? Like all of these things matter for all of these minimum guys. And so, you know, you’re going to be in the a pretty competitive market vying with a lot of teams that are probably better than you right now. So, you have to find your pitch and you got to nail it whenever you’re talking about minimums cuz, you know, they’re playing for the minimum. You got to earn them. It’s not vice versa. Um, but you know, these are options that you had that were not previously at your disposal. True. A couple weeks ago, I was saying, what kind of vet minimum guy would want to come here? Like, there’s no hope. Now, all of a sudden, there is hope. There’s every hope in the world that you could come here and and carve out a little bit of a, you know, a future for yourself in the league if you if you come here and play well. And to add on to some of that hope, this coming from ESPN’s Jonathan Gavone, he had a piece discussing uh Cooper Flag and the potential of course of him landing in Dallas where he said, quote, “Sources told ESPN that Flags Camp, Cooper Flags Camp realized how fortunate he is to land in Dallas. Flag is said to be thrilled by the idea of joining a playoff caliber roster with strong veterans and a team that has a void at the small forward position. End quote. So very interesting there to hear that type of reporting um that if you were to believe the information coming from Cooper Flags camp that he is excited about the possibility of coming here. Hopefully that alleviates some of the concern that Mavericks fans may feel uh they have about him being excited or not to come to Dallas. Uh, and we’ll find out obviously a little bit more as apparently Cooper Flat is gonna be holding uh media availability today as he’s participating in the NBA draft combine. Let’s take our first break here on the DLS Mavs podcast. When we come back, the Carllis Trader is going to cook as he’s got some mock trades. Roast help the Mavericks find some guard help. We’ll answer some burning questions when it comes to this roster and then we’ll dive into some of the NBA playoffs biggest storylines as we move closer to the conference finals. But we turn to the Carllis straighter as our guy Bobby Cur has cooked up some trades to help the Mavericks get some guard help this summer to go along with Anthony Davis and also potentially of course Cooper flag. Bobby Curl as his team devoid of playmaking needs to find some to help this team move forward here. Yeah, well Kevin, thank you for that intro. Um, trade machine stuff is always a bunch of uh bollocks, you know. I was just having a little bit of fun in the machine. So, let me know if you like these ideas or if you hate them or if it’s any Okay, well, wait till them first. You literally said I’m included. Then let me know if Well, you don’t know if you’re part of it yet. You said I was. You spoiling it. You sneaking these British isisms that I wasn’t expecting. Well, it’s 48 hours to kick off in the FA Cup final. Mark, uh, Tanner, let’s get to the first one. So, these these range on a scale of going for it to let’s uh get a little younger. And I I don’t know where in the world of reality we’re living right now, but let’s say you really want Kobe White. That’s a big uh that’s a big name circling among Mavs fans, but you want to get Kobe White without giving up a pick. Is it possible? Well, you call up Chicago, say, “All right, Gaffford and PJ, those are clear upgrades over players that are currently on your team. PJ is a much better player than a guy like Patrick Williams who’s locked in at kind of an unsaavory $18 million a year coming off a pretty disappointing season in the final year of his rookie deal. Uh you give the you give the Bulls Gaffford, PJ, and Jaden Hardy in exchange for Kobe White and Pat Williams and you hope that Kobe can continue his kind of meteoric rise over the last couple years. Gentlemen, are you giving that an A or an F? Does Daniel Gaff want to go back to Chicago? It’s not really his choice. It’s not really his choice. Uh Kobe W has been a popular name of choice for Mavericks fans. Uh and had a really good year for Chicago. Um and I think he would provide some very much needed help immediately. I I like this one actually. And the Bulls got tons of trade interest in Kobe White at the deadline and swatted it all away. And Kobe White had a tremendous season. He’s had two strong seasons in a row. The notion that they could get him without including draft compensation I think is unlikely except I mean 1.8% Mark. The only thing you can do though is say that uh I mean the Thunder were able to get Caruso for Giddy straight up with no trade compensation included. So I guess that gives you a modicum of hope and I guess like you said if you can win the draft lottery with a 1.8% chance. Who am I to dash your dreams of White? I think I think I think any team Dallas makes is going to be based around Gaffford or Washington. That just seems like the obvious thing. I don’t know if Kobe White’s good enough to me to hate hate hate. They’re not feeling that. Wow. All right. Well, I like the Kobe White part of it. The Kobe White part of it I’m here for. Oh, okay. One saving grace. All right. All right. Next one. Next one. Mavs call up the Portlandia Trailblazers. They say, “How about Anthony Simons? He’s kind of a little further along, a little more proven than Kobe White.” The Mavs give Gaffford, PJ Washington, and LA’s first round pick in 2029 or Anthony Simons and a ton of second round picks. I think Anthony Simons is better than Kobe White. I I agree. But that salary is kind of nasty. Is it? Well, it’s one year left on his deal. Yeah, at 27.5 million. And I’m sure No, it’s uh Yeah, 27.6, but then it’s an expiring deal, so you’re probably having to give him potentially a raise. I about to say you probably need to give him a contract extension if you’re going to bring him to Dallas. Is that bad? Uh, depending on how much you feel like you want to pay Anthony Simons. How much would you want to pay? He’s 25. He’s younger than Gaffford and PJ. He’s younger than Gaffford and PJ. FF Damn. Damn. I mean, he would at that point. See, I’ll take it. See, I’ll take it. Oh, wow. Okay. Uh, that’s over a $30 million player. Do you want to add that kind of a I mean, look, you can Well, you have to pay someone eventually. Yeah, you can theoretically bring in very offensive minded players if you have AD and flag on the court to compensate, but and you need again, if you’re trying to do anything next season, you need scoring. It’s a it’s a pricey pricey trade construction there. And I do think we need to keep our eye on Orlando. Jake Fischer and I reported that recently that Simons’s and or you know he he I think Orlando’s going to be in the bidding there. PJ Washington’s better than Jonathan Isaac. Daniel Gaffford’s better than Wendell Carter. It’s probably not better than Carter. And you’re tacking a first onto that. I’m getting a bunch of twos back. The Mavs don’t have any of those. Yeah. Well, chronicled. Elliot. Elliot says the Blazers want another big guy. That’s true as well. Well, they they definitely don’t want Aiden. And they got Don Mclling in there already, too. So, and Aiden’s on an expire as well. Yeah, but Robert Williams is they’re just praying he stays healthy long enough to to move him as well. I they I think I I don’t know. I don’t I don’t know exactly where I do like this live fan reaction to your ideas. Yeah, I don’t mind it. Whatever. I mean, I’m also literally just finding stuff that work. I’m going to I’m going to I’m going to tell fans right now, you guys are always the every single fan base, every single one, all 30 of them are always going to overrate their own players. Underate a little bit. Yeah, let’s make this trade with no picks involved. doesn’t mean that these are these are amazing trades. I don’t think either. I think both of them are far more realistic than FS in terms of what Dallas is actually going to have to do to get a player like Kobe White. Everybody keeps talking about Kobe White. I would rather see like a a PJ or a Daniel trade that involves all those picks. That’s the type of trade I think I would be. Maybe not all those, you know, not but yeah, I I would rather see something more like that, but for a guy that’s relatively unproven, I’m not really trying to give up a one. where Simons has been pretty good for a while. I’m trying to see if Kella did the one thing with that one team on the West Coast. Tanner trade three. Every Mavs fan’s nightmare scenario. Oh, he actually did that one. Daniel Gaffford and LA’s pick back to the Lakers along with swap rights. I feel like you kind of might have to give up quite a bit to get Austin Reeves. I’m not even sure that would be enough, but Austin Reeves, bonafide scorer, pretty dang good player. Um, was born in the pressure cooker of LA and thrived this year as a third option. Could he be a nice second option or even third option playing between Kyrie and Cooper Flag? Lakers say no. It’s not even that hard for them. Do they say no? Because they got to make a decision on whether or not they’re going to pay that cat over $43 million if he turns out an extension this year because if he turns down an extension, goes into free agency, he’s going to be up for a ton of money. And I don’t know if the Lakers would be willing to give a potential raise that he may be looking for on the open market. So, I think they would consider it a little bit more than Hey, let’s go. I did it. You what they may uh consider there. Just in my opinion, by offering a bad trade, I got a a I got two A’s. I just You’re not trading Austin Reeves for a center who doesn’t play in the postseason who who struggles in the post like that. You see what they had a center this postseason? Yeah, centers who didn’t play. You want to add another Does that make it better that you have another big body on the bench that you’re like, “Oh my god, we are losing.” I just don’t know. They got to trade. I love Gaffford. I love Gaffford. They got to trade Reefs for something. I mean, the reality of what happened in the postseason is You could go look it up. Every single series Dallas was losing points. Well, it’s because Dererick Lively’s goated, Tim. That’s pretty easy. I mean, that’s a big part of it. Um, all right. Next trade. Uh, these these last two are if the Mavs want to get a little younger. Okay. They don’t want to. This is pro probably unrealistic because the Mavs are trying to go for it, but this is if they want to get younger. They call up San Antonio with whom they’ve never made a trade outside of like a a fake second round pick trade like 27 years ago. They offer San Antonio Daniel Gaffford and PJ Washington along with uh another pick swap for the Spurs in 2031. Lakers first round pick for Harrison Barnes’s contract bringing the GOAT back to Dallas. and Stefon Castle. I like what you’re doing there. Gives them a ton of picks to throw for Giannis basically is what this is doing. Yeah, I think San Antonio says no because Stefan Castle is that good. Well, they have the number two pick in the draft. If they’re trading Stfan Castle, it probably if it’s what if you get two picks for that and then you give even more picks for uh for Yiannis or would they Milwaukee needs players not because they don’t have their own picks. So if Milwaukee and again this is all still hypothetical cuz Giannis has not yet gone to the Bucks and say I want to trade or I want to stay. He has not really given them any indication one way or the other. But the Bucks are not going to do a trade if they are forced to trade Giannis. I do not anticipate them doing a trade that is just laden with picks. They’re going to need some quality players too because the Spurs are going to be a juggernaut after that trade. So, it’s like their picks are just they need a lot back. Yeah, you’re right. PJ isn’t a huge upgrade over Barnes. Gafford is a huge upgrade in my opinion over Zack Collins. If WME is not going to play the five in the regular season, they need guys. Now, getting Castle back obviously is a little silly, but potentially Dylan Harper. That’s a little bit of an overlap. They already have De’aran Fox. Leverage might not, but who knows? Who knows? Who knows? Most not feeling that one by me. They’re not feeling that one. That’s fine. Yeah, there was one that was like last one. Mavs get much worse this year for potentially a payoff in the future. They call up the New Orleans Pelicans. Oh, another indivision rival. Gaffford, PJ, Jaden Hardy to the Pelicans for CJ McCollum who at $30 million and his age and his size and his defensive. That’s a tough situation for the Pelicans. Uh you get Jordan Hawkins and you get the number seven pick in the draft this year. Oh, so you’re giving me a one. You gave me the one and the seven. That’s an I and maybe they are number eight and that just hasn’t Wait, wait. Time out. Time out. Time out. I mean, we Oh, no. Pelicans, you’re right. Jordan Hawkins didn’t really play much. Didn’t have that great of a year. Uh, the Pelicans have a lot of guys. They’re a team that has a lot of dudes. They got a lot of players. Hawkins couldn’t hardly get on the floor for the Pelicans as it was. I know. So, but it’s it’s contract matching at that point. You’re not trading for him. Yeah. Um, yeah. I don’t know if I’m feeling that one. The only thing that entices me is the fact that you get the you get a pick. You get the pick. You’re super young. Yeah, you get and you you have your pick next year and uh the Mavs have their pick next year. So, you’re probably taking a little bit of a step back this year, get another pick next year. Boom. Now you’re cooking. I think there’s a really real scenario that Dallas is going to struggle until Kyrie gets back next season and that the season after next the 2026 27 season that’s not even is really going to be the chance to like they that is when they should all be their like everything should be aligned for Dallas to go win Cooper Flag I mean he’s a he’s 18 he’s going to take a year in a year from now he’s going to be so much he’s going to have so much more understanding of of what he can do at the NBA level. So, if you spin it like that and your hopes for next year just because of Kyrie and and Cooper being a rookie are just lowered maybe. I just I don’t Who would you want to take at seven? At number seven, it’s potentially Derek Queen. It’s potentially Jeremiah Fears. It’s potentially someone else. Um, the idea the idea is I’m staring down a future where I got to offer Daniel Gaffford and PJ Washington an extension to either play out of position or come off the bench, right? Those guys aren’t agreeing to that. McCollum’s 30 million comes off the books after next season. Clay will be on an expiring. you can potentially get under the cap and sign guys or you could at least have a lot of flexibility once Kyrie’s, you know, extension kicks in in full force. AD’s extension is in in full force and you’re going to be one year away from having to extend Lively. So, it’s a little bit of like I don’t think it’s realistic that they’re going to keep AD and also try and obtain more picks, but that is one way to do a two time getting the vibe from our viewership that PJ Washington is beloved around here. I I fully agree. I fully support that. I also don’t think he wants to be a six-man. And I think he’s going to be, which is my unless they trade AD, but that’s not happening unless they fire Nico, which is why I might advocate for an entire reset, but that’s another conversation for another day. Uh, you could check out all of Bobby Carella’s uh mock trades that he cooked up by going back and watching us here on the DLS podcast uh once we are finished here. Let’s take our next break though here on the DLS. The problem is the salary cap. Giovani all of those all of those trades were illegal. Salary cap is a pesky problem. It’s with all of that in mind. They’re in a tough situation right now. It’s you got to get very creative to try and bring in guards. I mean, that was kind of a a demonstration of how difficult it is to find guards. It’s not as easy as just trade Gaffford for a guard. Okay. Well, there’s five guards they could trade for and all of you hated them. So, like it’s really really hard. The NBA is very tough, especially when you’re above the apron, which is why I don’t want them to exceed it, which is why I keep talking about how hard it is to add players. And and everybody’s gut reaction is look at a trade and just compare the players to the players. Uh in the NBA, trades actually happen. I mean, this is my gut reaction, too, is to look player versus player who’s winning, getting more talent. You’re 100% right. If you’re a front office, what you’re looking at is not just which players you’re getting. You’re looking at PJ Washington and his upcoming extension. You’re looking at Dan Raford in his upcoming extension. you are weighing the possibility that these players are going to leave for nothing because of the situation that you’re about to ask of them and put them in or you just don’t want to resign them to the number that you expect them to be uh fielding in for agency from other you know these are the type of calculations you’re making 100% and you know it it’s it’s it’s a very difficult business it’s tough it’s very tough making trades is tough I got some burning questions from my guys coming up on the other side of the break here on the DLS mouse First, some of you might think that some of those trade ideas stink, but you know what definitely stinks? Grundles, butt cracks, belly buttons, fellas. Everything that’s going on in and around your waist area stinks. It’s hot outside. You’re sweating. It’s not just your armpits that produce BO. One addendum I have I was crestf fallen to find the Celtics have so many trade restrictions because they’re way above the second apron and so it’s not going to be easy maybe even possible to try and trade with them for either Drew or Derek White. Two players that I love. Um saw Luke in the chat mention Pton Pritchard. He makes a weird dollar amount. The Mavs can’t actually match it unless they offer Max Christie, but that doesn’t really solve your guard problem. You’re trading one guard for another. Um and Christiey’s young. I I don’t necessarily want to give up on him. And then I saw also um playmaker mention uh Dennis Shruder who was on the minimum this year. Dennis Shruder I think he was on the minimum. Maybe not, but he’s going to make way more than a minute. He had a great year. I mean it’s it’s he’s going to make himself quite a bit of money this offseason. Yeah. I don’t think it’s guaranteed Chris Paul would make the minimum either. He might not. Yeah. It depends on what he wants. Yeah. Does he want to come to Dallas and now mentor the next winyama? Not quite. Not quite. But does he want to repeat that type of situation? But I imagine Chris Paul wants us to to play in LA so he can be near his family because his family has stayed in LA when he’s been in Phoenix and now San Antonio. But it’s just it’s hard for again this is just a read not reporting just premonition reading the tea leaves premonition. It’s hard for me to imagine him wanting to like if you’re going to be a mentor you’ve already spent a year withama. The Spurs have so many good things going for them. I’m not sure why he would want to relocate to another Texas team and relocate to a team that’s not in Los Angeles. I know that Chris Paul, but that’s why like people were asking why was I quiet like it’s I don’t like playing and I know everyone loves the hypothetical trade game and you could see people were loving it and firing off grades and reacting but it’s like I don’t know if they were loving it. They enjoy the exercise. They enjoy the exercise and it’s like it’s it it’s just I I get nervous discussing fake trades because like I’m supposed to be telling you what’s really being discussed out there and I just don’t want any of my messages to be misinterpreted or my my comments to be misinterpreted. On a much happier note beyond all that gibberish, more than 500 people watching us at lunchtime on a Wednesday. Let’s go. That’s what happens when uh you’re about to be on the cusp of getting uh Cooper flag. Uh, I got some burning questions for my guys here before we take uh our next break here involving this Dallas Mavericks roster. And I got some good news from Stein uh for Stein coming up in our next segment that you’ll be happy about when it comes to that Coopa Flag t-shirt. Uh, but let’s jump into it real quick because it’s interesting how this roster is put together and what could this roster look like by the time uh we get to the end of the summer. But let’s take a crystal ball look further down the road. And I’ll start with I’ll start with Carella on this one real quick. Burning question number one, Bobby. Which current Maverick player will most likely be with the team at the end of Cooper Flag’s rookie deal? Uh, Dwight Pal. My heart says Dwight Pal. Yeah. Uh, that’s a great answer, guys. Derek Derek Lively probably. Um, I mean, there’s a chance that someone on a more cost control deal like Omax or Max Chrissy or Hardy can stick around for that long just because of their contract, but we’re talking four years out from now. So, yeah, I think the the maybe the only guy that will still be on the team is Lively Terry Irving. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. That would be nice. In all seriousness, when we we don’t this is a chance to give a hat tip and shout out to Dwight Powell because his recovery from an Achilles tear like he never gets brought up in the recovery from an Achilles how swiftly he did it and obviously that becomes pertinent now with what’s happening in Boston and Jason Tatum and Milwaukee with Damen Lillard. So just Kevin Durant reached out to Dwight Pow when he tore his Achilles. A shout out to Dwight Powell to help him with his recovery there. Um, so you’re going with Kyrie Irving when it comes to the Maverick most likely to be with the team by the end of Cooper Flags. Four years from now, Kyrie’s probably gonna sign for three more and then, you know, he’ll be 36 at the end of that deal. And so, he just need to play one more season. I don’t see at this point any reason why if Kyrie is staying in Dallas for the next three seasons that he wouldn’t just end his career here, go out uh with Cooper Flag. And there’s no scenario where another GM comes in and looks at Kyrie and says that’s the guy you got to move. Nor do I think that, you know, you can absolutely come in and say, “Well, Cooper uh or Anthony Davis, Cooper plays the position, you know, you’re playing the position that Cooper flag should be playing. You make the spacing and and everything too difficult.” Absolutely. There’s a scenario where where uh a different uh voice would come in and and and think about that, but I don’t know who would look at Carrie Irving and think, “Oh, yeah, that’s the problem. We’re going to move on from him.” And so, yeah, why I don’t see why not. I think I think both sides are incentivized to, you know, assuming Kyrie comes back, and I think I think Kyrie will come back at something close to full strength, you know, like he’s going to look like the player that that we saw before the injury. I don’t see why not. I think both sides have a lot of incentives to now that Cooper Flag is here. I think both sides have a lot of incentives to to keep him here the whole time. There’s a scenario that Kyrie wants to go do like a like one year into retirement type of situation in LA or in uh somewhere else, but I I really think everything is is kind of building up to Kyrie finishing his career in Dallas. And I think his career will run through the end of Cooper’s contract. Of course, Kyrie Irving has a $43 million player option this coming summer that he will make a decision on earlier today uh via via his official Tik Tok. He put up uh a rehab recovery video detailing his uh recovery journey from his torn ACL. You can see that all over social media as Kyrie Irving giving us an intimate look on how he is recovering from his torn ACL. Uh Bernie, question number two, Tim K, I’ll start with you on this one. Will PJ Washington and Daniel Gaffford both be Dallas Mavericks when we get to opening night this season in October? No, no, no. It’s just a matter of which one. Well, the question is both. Will both of them be gone or be here? Oh, I thought you flipped it around. No, no, no. Will either be both be here or both be gone? I think PJ Washington should be here and and Daniel Gaffford is the centerpiece for whatever trade you make this offseason. gut feeling right now. Just gut. Just gut. Not reporting anything. Uh it’s probably the other way around, but we’ll see. Bobby, will both PJ Wash and Daniel Gaffford be Mavericks by the time we get to opening night this? It’s more likely that neither is than both are in my opinion because if I mean they they have to make a move and those are the those are, you know, with no disrespect to any of the other players on the team, but like those are probably the only two players they have that have positive value that are realistically traded. Obviously, Cooper Flag has positive trade value. AD has value, Kyrie has value, but like if you want to make a trade for a, you know, a good player uh in the back court and you don’t want to get rid of one of your big three, if you want to call them that, then it’s got to be Gaffford and or PJ. So, yeah, I think it’s it’s much more likely that they’re both gone than that they’re both here in my opinion. I know you want an answer. I can’t give you one today. I just it’s just too What about tomorrow? Not tomorrow. Probably probably not tomorrow. Probably not next week, but I can’t say that I am chasing the answer for you. How about that? I am. I’m actively chasing the answer. Let’s find out about the rigging, too. Like, let’s get I don’t need to ask. It was rigged. He said he’s answered that question already. Was rigged. Exclusive interview with the number seven ping pong ball. It was rigged on Stein substack. Playmaker says that we’re going to be pissed off by whenever Nico retains all the rotational players. I won’t be mad. I just don’t think that they’ll be I don’t think they’ll be as good as they could be if they trade one of those guys for backward help. Yeah, he’s back. Like I I just I would never be comfortable going into a season with Brandon Williams as the only point guard on my team. Like it’s just not you can’t do that, you know? And you wouldn’t be comfortable, but you would be somewhat somewhat giddy. I’d be intrigued. I can’t wait to see what happens. There’s also a reality, I guess, where they could trade someone like Naji or Max Christie or Hardy or Powell or Omax or some combination thereof for a guard. I mean, I didn’t really look at any of those options whenever I was making fake trades just because those guys are in my opinion at this point in their career based on their output with the exception of Naji probably just like contract numbers and not players that a team would actively want, right? You know, but Nagi would have some value, I think, if there’s a if there’s a guard that makes, for example, Pton Pritchard money, uh, you could trade Naji for that. But the Celtics can’t trade Pton Pritchard for Naji because Naji makes more. They can only take back less money in a trade. So, like even that would not be a possible. I’m so glad you brought up Naji because I wanted to bring this up yesterday. If Naji is on the team next season, if he is in training camp title, who do I who do I request a DLS shirt? I want a knife. I want I want to see. We need some sort of We need a shirt. Yeah, we need the knife. Yeah. So, I don’t know how to make that formally lodge that request, but I I I think that shirt would do well. Some sort of the knife. We need a We need a dude waving a flag brandishing a knife. Like that’s what we need. I mean, I’m not qualified to be on the design team. I just want to lodge. That’s a free idea. I just want I just want I just want to lodge the request. They’ve got they’ve got 144 minutes if you assume the five is is a 48 minute split between Lively and Gaffford when both are healthy. Then you’ve got 35 minutes going to Anthony Davis and then 13 more filling in uh PJ Washington behind him and then you’re probably playing 32 minutes to Cooper Flag. That gives you 16 more. So 16 and 15. So you get up to about 31 minutes for uh 31 minutes for for PJ, 35 minutes for Anthony Davis, 32 minutes for Cooper Flag. The centers split the five position. Now Naji is your two. Well, you got Clay and you’ve got Clay. Naji is your point guard. Naji is your point guard. There’s not room to play all these guys. There straight up isn’t. There is not room for a 35, 32, even 30 minute guy in Cooper Flag. That’s what he’s going to be his first season. There’s not enough room for him to come back and fit in without Naji being the point guard. And I’m sorry, that’s that that is not getting you to 500. We’re still not Kayla Martin. We keep forgetting about Kayla Martin, too. Real quick at 30 seconds, could you see us? My bad, Caleb. All right, he’s still on the team. Completely forgot he’s here. Real quick at 30 seconds, could you see the Mavericks asking Max Christie to have more ball handling responsibilities this coming season? I hope I certainly hope not. I mean, they want they want ball handling to make the game easier for Max Christie. They saw the difference between those early games when they still had Kyrie and Christie. Christy really suffered from the lack of playmaking that without Kyrie was evident as the season wore on and the injuries piled up. So I think ideally yeah I mean it’s always great if players can add that to their game but I think I think uh I only ask that and bring that up because we saw the Mavericks asked PJ Wash to have more ball handling responsibilities that didn’t necessarily work out the team in turnover. That’s what I’m saying like it didn’t work out great. Uh they have been willing to ask guys to do different things. I don’t know if necessarily that would be one that they would want to, but I thought it would be interesting just to bring bring that up as part of our discussion. Yeah. But yeah, I mean as as you started thinking about it like where if in that scenario, where’s Naji playing? Where’s Clay playing? Where’s Chrissy playing? Where’s Caleb Martin playing? You’re playing you’re paying all of them a lot way too much money to not play any minutes. Yeah. And many of them would be playing out of position. I guess only makes a few million, but like where where is Hardy playing? uh you have a lot of guys and none of those players are really players that other teams would actively just be calling you for, you know, uh and that’s the that’s the issue. So, how do you clear up a glut? Um the Mavs had to trade a first round pick just to get rid of four guys making much less than all of them and trade them for Christian Wood a few years ago and how did that go? So, like it’s not a great position to be in, but they they do need to find a way to get guards. Yeah. and and you know playmaker because I did Caleb and Hardy for Cole Anthony. Cole Anthony on a team that needed creation and shooting more than any team in the entire NBA, you know, averaged under 20 points or 20 minutes per game for them. He lost as I do like him as a placeholder. I I agree. As a placeholder, it’s not it’s not that bad of an option. It’s certainly better. I’m not sure Caleb Hardy get it done. I don’t know. I haven’t thought about that at all. I I think Orlando, if they traded him, they would want shooting probably. And unfortunately, Martin is Anyway, my my point here is you literally do not have enough front court minutes to fit 35 minutes of Cooper flag. And it should be, you know, maybe 32. He’s going to be playing, you know, starters minutes from the moment he stops. Star minutes because he’s going to be he’s going to be that tier of player. So, yeah. And and you’re and yes, players get injured. Political element of guys coming off the bench. PJ’s not coming off the bench. He’s just not going to do that in a contract year. Yeah, Daniel Gaffford started last season because starting is also very important to him even though Derrick Lively is the better center. Let’s take our final break here on the DLS Mass podcast. When we come back, we take a trip around the association. I’ve got some good news for Mark Stein when it comes to Cooper Flag. I’ll tell him what it is next on the DLS Mass podcast. I don’t want to make the connection that it’s to the die hard card. But that is the one thing that has changed in me since the last time that I went to the doctor. So you want to add quality and length to your life. The best way to do this is not medical advice. The best way to do that is to become a die hard today. We’re going to get to your super chats here in just a moment as we finish up here on the DLS Mavs podcast, but I do want to let Mark Stein know um that shirt that Cooper Flag was wearing as a 13-year-old, uh it has Mavericks on the front and Donich’s name on the back uh of that t-shirt, that must have been a knockoff shirt cuz we did well we whenever I was at the Mavs, we stopped selling gear with the full logo. Yeah. So, that that was a that was a knockoff shirt. So, but yes, it did have Dante’s name on the back of that particular t-shirt. Uh, just in case you were wondering. So, maybe it was Destiny all along. He picked that up from a gas station. Well, he was in Maine. Main, right? Well, he was hooping as a 13-year-old in that t-shirt cuz he was out there dunking and all kinds of stuff. So, uh, there’s that from Mark Stein there. Let’s get to some of your super chats here on the DLS podcast. Uh, from Jordan with the 499 super chat. stoked for Flag, but do you think him and his camp feel comfortable coming into a situation where the GM trades superstars overnight without warning? Well, it’s a really good question. We read you a little bit earlier some reporting uh that suggests that he is excited about the idea uh of coming to Dallas. So whether you believe that or not coming from his camp, uh that reporting is out there that he is excited about the idea of joining the Dallas Mars. So hopefully that can relieve some of your um I mean there of course he’s going to say that. I’m just saying let’s be honest. It’s what’s out there. Yeah, of course he’s going to say that. I don’t think that he’s I don’t think the fear is that he’s going to get traded. I I I really promise you it’s it’s not that. I think just the overall uncertainty and uh you know just just chaos of the past 3 months is an odd situation to be dropped into. But ultimately, like I don’t think I think there’s a lot of people who are going to be are going to feel mixed emotions about watching the Mavs again and they may not be as locked in. They may not be as as engaged as they were last season. There still may be some issues. I don’t think Fire Nico is going to be very visible. I don’t think we’re going to hear it at games. I think outside of Luca and we’ll see how the season goes. Summer League will be the first test. Yeah, because Cooper Flag presumably we we presume will have some level of summer league involvement. Maybe it’s only a game or two, but you know, even played two games of summer league. So, um, and you would presume that Nico Harrison will be present and you would assume that more than a Mavs fan or three will make their way to Sin City. Hopefully, we’ll be there. Yeah, hope so. So, that will be test number one. And that’s also after free agency, so we’ll know who’s the who the team is going to be by then. Very true. Yah Billy with a $5 super chat. Could Malcolm Brogden be a possibility? He’s on an expiring contract. Could get us through until Kyrie returns. Then he’d be a very solid backup. I mean, it’s definitely an like is a possibility. I He doesn’t really move me at this point in his career, to be honest. Okay. He’s 32 now. Yeah. He’s been in the league for a while now. Yeah. 33. We’re getting old, man. Yeah. It’s Yeah, that’s so linked up. By the way, Cooper Fly was born in 2006 if you want to feel even older today. Didn’t somebody say today on Twitter that he was born after the ’06 finals? Yeah, that’s right. So, he wasn’t even There you go. I was almost his age right now during that finals. That’s insane. Henry Diesel 23 with the $5 super chat. Any Pelicans trade better involve Herb Jones otherwise pass. And Harrison Barnes is butt cheeks. Pass. Well, the the HB thing is not to get Harrison Barnes is to make the money work. There will be no HB slander when I’m on the desk. Also great dude. I just I love Harrison Barnes. Uh Herb Jones. I mean, look, we’re still getting a handle for what direction Joe Dumars is going to take with the Pelicans, but everybody wants Herb Jones, okay? Every team in the league wants Herb Jones. He’s on an incredible contract. Great defender. I mean, so like Kobe, we talked about Kobe White and there is tremendous interest in Kobe White. I would say there’s probably even more interest leaguewide in Herb Jones. Yeah, there should be. And eventually Dallas does have to prioritize some people who can reliably not not shoot, but like draw defenses, stretch defenses. It depends on how they go about roster construction, but I promise you Klay Thompson is not alone. He can’t do He can’t do that alone. Herb Herb has improved as a shooter. But Azie D with the 499 super chat. I don’t care if it’s rigged. Cooper Flag getting introduced to imminent front is going to heal my Mav’s soul with a guitar slayer. Does Cooper Flag know who the who are? It’s Eminem. Has he has Cooper Flag ever heard a The Who song? What number is he gonna wear? Probably 32. That’s my guess. That’s your prediction. I think he should wear 18. Just give him 77. Some fans were Some fans jumped to my mentions and said that he should wear a combination of Luca and no one is ever wearing 77 again. Like put together 71. 47 was another combination that they put together as homage to Dark. That actually I hate that. That’s Bill Fodden. Who’s there’s a famous 47 that was in the NBA a while back. Andre Carol. Yeah, AK-47. Yeah, taking some comparisons there. Claymore K with the $5 super chat. Mavs are not taking shortcuts by improving ball handling skills for Christy. Rather, Trey Gaffford, Caleb Martin, and Jaden Hardy for Josh Giddy or Colin Sexton. Colin Sexon will be definitely be a very popular name in the trade machine. Problem is with Utah, the Mavs really only have vets to offer and they’re probably not going to want to do that. So, it’ need to be some sort of rerouting three team deal. But Colin Saxon and Jordan Clarkson, I would imagine they’re probably mad at the Mavs after going 17 and 65 and falling as far in the lottery as he possibly can from one to number five. And honestly, if you’re going to deal with Danny A, the best solution is to just not make a trade with Danny A. Utah and Charlotte ended up what five six good Mavs. The Mavs issue the Mavs got worse three uh four the Mavericks picks have gotten worse because they drafted Cooper flag. That is very true. There’s not the the level of perceived value for 20 what? It’s only 2031 that they have now. Yeah. 2031 or a 2032 swap. They can swap 32 now, right? I think 600 at lunchtime that Yeah, that’s right. That’s right. I love seeing that. And they got 29 for the perception of those picks is just not going to be the same. Um, let’s get to uh Clay. Why can’t you swap 26? Uh, well, you could trade swap rights to that pick, but you just can’t trade the pick. Yeah. Yeah. Clay goods 123 with the dollar 999 super chat tank for the 2026 pick. Flag and Debansa. I’m I’m thinking I’m thinking long and hard about that. Trust me. But what are the odds they win it two years in a row? You never know. Considering it took them 45 years to win it one. Well, not 45, 40 to win it. Yeah. Well, I mean, if 1.8 guarantees you the first overall pick, imagine what like 2.7 could do. Anything is possible. You’d get the top three. But yeah, I mean there there is a real conversation to be had if let’s say Kyrie takes a little longer than we thought and AD gets hurt in November and then you’re thinking like, oh boy, you know, there is there are some mystical forces that could be at play at that point. And again, I think I think the biggest question is we know Nico Harrison won’t won’t look at it this way, but if you had another voice, if you had another person leading this franchise, would they look at Anthony Davis and say, “See you, this is the best fit for Cooper Flag, or are there other avenues, other ways to go about building around Cooper Flag that make more sense, which we’ll have a conversation at some point down the road?” Here, Rarities with the 999 super chat. How confident are y’all that Nico won’t screw this up again? Uh, is Cuban in Deont’s ear more these days? Just trying to stop Nico from wrecking the franchise one more time. I fear not drafting Cooper Flag. I feel like I feel like I said it I don’t know how many times on the show yesterday. Then I checked with someone and the me I I I asked someone with knowledge of the Maverick’s thinking. Is there any way they trade the number one pick rather than draft Cooper Flag? And the source very confidently said, quote, “No chance.” And I do believe it. They are drafting Cooper Flag. I I don’t see any scenario in which they entertain to mine ears. Let’s finish up with Brett Mayfield in the $10 super chat. Appreciate y’all cooking with the super chats today. Um cancel my tickets two days after the trade. Next week I am rejoining club maverick # lonear flag. Shout out to the basketball gods. The basketball gods are just and mighty and uh I’m sure that’ll make Rick Weltz very happy uh to see uh super chat. Yeah, I mean I am I guess now like winning the lottery does sort of retroactively justify increasing the prices and stuff and hopefully they’re affordable and you’re able to get in and it’s a good experience for you. Um yeah, I mean it’s it’s an exciting time to be a mass fan again now. It’s funny how things change. It it is funny. It better be funny and it is funny how things change. Is it funny? This is this is a funny story. It’s time to put the word out, boys. We back up. We back up. You’re right on the DLS Maz podcast. You’re right. Appreciate our guy Tanner making us look good and sound good as always. Thank you, sir. Don’t forget there’s a lot of NBA playoff action. It was rigged. The knife. Damn right. Is that your new the knife? It’s rigged. Is that the new one? I don’t know. Maybe. It sounds like it might be the way that you’ve been. The hopper was hopping, man. Was it hopping? Uh so much so that the Mavericks had the number one overall pick. Remember the NBA draft June 25th? Uh when the M Look at Espo from PHNX trying to crash our show here. Uhuh. Not today. Not today. Not today. KD or Bradley Beal for number one. I don’t know. Might need to add a couple more picks on the Mavs end to make it even. So, give it We’ll give you 2031 to win now. That’s right. Put the word out on the street. We back up. Appreciate Tanner making us look and sound good as always. Thank you, sir. Uh, that is our national NBA insider Mark Stein. 1. Tim Cato is awful analysis!, please let Marc Stein talk more, somebody that actually knows basketball, This Tim guy is terrible

  2. Flagg will be exciting but the Mavs are still not a title contender. The stars are old and hurt and they have no scoring. They need to go rebuild around Flagg but Nico's pride won't allow it.

  3. Derrick White and Colby White is the best thing that have came out of the two clowns in the middle mouth.

  4. Honestly, all things considered, being a mavs fan the past 20+ years is up there with the lakers and spurs in terms of having the blessing to never have to go through a prolonged period of rebuild before finding the guy. Only two seasons of losing before landing luka and then half a season losing before landing hopefully cooper.

  5. They aren’t building around Flagg. Flagg is just the missing piece to what they already have. He makes Dallas a LEGIT contender if they are healthy at the right time

  6. Stop trying to trade our centers. No one wants any current bull players here. Ad is no center. Why would we trade our centers when everyone looking for one. Austin reeves for gafford ? Are you kidding me. He doesn't play any defense. Stop with the stupidity

  7. The “trading 10 year for 2 years” talk irks me. Luka is laboring at 26 and if you can’t admit that, you’re in denial or just don’t remember what his game looked like 2 years ago. Banking on Luka playing at a high level into his mid 30’s is actually insane 😂. EVERYTHING is pointing to an early flame out from him, but nobody talks about it. There is a very good chance that he’s a player that eats up a huge chunk of salary in the future and his best years are already behind him. The narrative now is “Luka carried Dallas to the finals,” but everyone has forgot that for the first two rounds fans were waiting for him to have a “Luka game” and were asking what’s wrong with him. He hasn’t looked like MVP level Luka since. Yes, he’s still putting up numbers, but if you really understand basketball, you’ll notice that teams no longer double team him. They’ll let him get his slightly inefficient 30ppg and live with his streaky at best shooting. If they played 2022/2023 Luka straight up he’d drop 45 every game.

  8. I don't believe he'll end up a Mav by next season! Remember this is Dumb & Dumber running the Mavs! The 3 Stooges if you include Kidd! I think gm Bozo the clown will probably trade the pick to LA for Bronnie, or maybe to Phil for Embied, He'll trade him cause he doesn't fit the 35yr old timeline the Mavs are on now with Street clothes and Kyrie if he ever comes back! I know niko will find a way to mess this all up so I'm not getting too excited until I see him in a Dallas uniform this year! F.O. will mees this up again! 💩💩🤡🤡

  9. I still won't be buying any Mavs gear! I still hate this FO and will until the Owner and GM are LONG gone! I am a Laker fan now after THE TRADE! I'm sure niko will find something about the rook he doesn't like or say he's not on the same timeline as the 30 yr olds on the team and decide to trade him for another 30 yr old. Don't know if I'm coming back as a fan! I'm still a Luka and Laker fan rn! I Still want niko gone! We'll see how long Flagg is a Mav or we go with the OG's and trade him for Gannis! 🤣 I don't put anything past these idiots! This organization is TRASH!

  10. Get Scoot Henderson. He has good passing instincts and he might be a buy low player. He also has huge upside as a creator. He will be under the mentorship of Kyrie and Kidd, that will do wonders for his career. Portland not trading Simons yet has stunted Scoot’s development.

  11. Guys id rather just trade AD and keep PJ and Gaff. Try and trade him for Amen plus contracts to match

  12. I would 1000% do Christie for Pritchard and not think twice about it. They're guards yes, but one is an actual point guard and the other is a shorter wing who is classified as a guard. Problem is, I think the Celtics might be looking to get bigger in that kind of deal.

  13. PJ and Naji for Ace Bailey. With cooper we’re way over the Apron, and we can’t increase PJ pay by much. We trade PJ and Naji for Ace Bailey and a 1st round pick and 2 second rounders
