Is This Year’s Timberwolves Better Than Last Year’s WCF Team? | Inside the NBA

Minnesota moves on. Second straight Western Conference final. Is this a better Timberwolf team than the one that got beat by Dallas last year? You know, I was getting ready to say this is one of the rare NBA trades where it worked out for both teams with Julius and Cat. I mean, and don’t forget Denzo. So, how about wouldn’t it be great if they played in the finals? I know cuz Judith Rand’s been fantastic and Cad has been fantastic for the for the Knicks. So, this is a it reminds me of the Hala Burden uh Sabonis trade. Well, it worked out great for both teams, right? Uh but Julia’s been great and Cat been great. To answer your question, the answer is no. I think last year they’re a little bit more explosive. I think Ant was a little bit more explosive. He’s been a little bit too up and down for me. At this part of the playoffs, you need your superstar to be definitive of what he’s going to do. He had a good game tonight, but a good game does not win you championships. good games will not be OKC or Denver. So to answer your questions, no, they are good. Congratulations to him, but I would like to see him step up to the level we all know he can play at. Good. Good is not going to get you a championship. Kenny knows that. We need you to be great every time. They swept Minnesota swept Denver. Um a series which included Joker’s 6110 and 10 triple double. They were 2 and2 against OKC. The thing that concerns me if they play OKC is the fact Minnesota has been turning the ball over like crazy and that’s what OKC feasts on. So, um, how do you see this potent these potential matchups for Minnesota? OKC or Denver? Uh, both OKC and Denver would be favored. Um, to me, he just told you the Wolves swept Denver. That’s OKC and Denver would be favored to me. 60 games. I just I just think that Um, you asked you asked a great question. Do I think they’re a better team? I think they’ve had a better opportunity this year. Uh, I think that if they had to this team if this team had to play the teams that they played last year, they wouldn’t be in the Western Conference Finals uh the way they are now. I don’t think they’re a better team this year yet. uh an and it is what Shaq said is there was a fear that Anthony Edwards has not imposed yet and and went if he imposed that fear then his his play was so relentless. He he was the new version of what Russell Westbrook kind of played at along with they were comparing him to the scoring ability of what Michael does at times. Michael. So at at times I I never said that, but that’s what they were saying. And that was and that was accurate. It was accurate. Can I ask you a question, Ernie? Sure. Nobody’s going to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder this year. They’re going to go to the championship and they’re going to win it. Whether they’re going to beat Denver, they’re going to beat Minnesota, and they’re going to beat whoever come out the East. They have been We keep looking for holes. They they they they’re starting to believe that was impressive what they did yesterday. I believe and I could be wrong. I think the Oklahoma City have proven they’re the best team in the NBA. I think you also said that about Cleveland and we saw I thought I said I I I said that they lost but we saw their but Oklahoma City don’t have no holes. Oklahoma City does not have any. Every team left in the NBA. Every team left in the NBA. The Knicks have a lack of depth. Denver has a lack of depth. Minnesota’s got a really good team. Um Indiana. Indiana’s got a really good team. But I have not seen any team that could beat OKC four times in a week. I tell you what, OKC better win tomorrow. They don’t have to win tomorrow. Denver got to win tomorrow. Okay. Okay. They better win tomorrow. They ain’t got to win tomorrow. Definitely got to win tomorrow. If they lose the Hey, the Knicks didn’t have to win tonight. Go home for game seven. Can’t see. What that mean? That don’t mean nothing. Ernie, you mean be in there, gym? You know what’s going You know what’s going to happen. Their backs going to be tight. They They were tight last night. They won. I I would say this game seven. Yes. Back’s going to be No matter where it is. Yeah. You You have to know that there is a guy from from the an a bulan man. is very different and he is a different person and I would not want to have that one game against him. Yeah. Not one. I I I I just wouldn’t want to have one. He played better than he did last night. He has he had 61 this year. Yeah, they lost that game. But he’s had they lost that game. He played better. They lost that game. Yeah, but he had 50. They lost that game. He’s got a better

  1. These guys literally cannot stop proving that they just look at stat sheets and don't actually watch the games. And they're getting paid the GDP of a small country for this 😂

  2. For me the wolves can go to the finals like okc or denver. It is about the others. Naz Rei, NAW, Jaden Mcwdaniels, Divicenzo and Conley and Rudy need to play well. Mostly Jaden Naz And NAW. Last year, they were great against the nuggets but naw struggled with his shot. Him and Divicenzo needs to play lights out.

  3. People were saying nobody was stopping Denver last year. I would expect OKC to prevail if both teams are healthy, but Wolves definitely have a shot, especially if they take care of the ball. A Denver match up would be a coin flip. Pulling for a MIN/NY finals!

  4. I wish the late great Prince was here to sing the national anthem for a Timberwolves game, since he's from there.

  5. Ant is pacing himself; he burned out last year. He needs to learn last years intensity with this year's sustainment.

  6. As a wolves fan that's been watching every OKC game in the playoffs, OKC is a much better team. OKC will turn all those wolves turnovers into points. Ant is going to shoot about 30%. Nothing will come easy like against Golden State or LA.

  7. This team is definitely better than last year. Donte off the bench and Randle has been a defensive force and our most consistent offensive player. Towns is stilk dropping 10 points or less in multiple playoff games and we all know what he is on the defensive end.

  8. Call me crazy but I think Shaq is challenging Minnesota. He wants them to take the next step so he doesn't wanna give them flowers he wants them to stay hungry even though he knows they're better than last year.

  9. The remaining teams have won 3 championships in the past 20 years. 2 of them belong to the Celtics. We're looking at incredible parity in the NBA playoffs right now.

  10. Shaq must've forgot how horrible he was in the 2006 finals and had to be carried by DWADE! 😂Please stop.

  11. Idk if they’re better. But definitely more Resilient. They would’ve lost that game vs the lakers with 40 missed 3s. A few games vs The Warriors. The Wolves are definitely way more resilient

  12. People actually say Ant is not as good this year as last? His game has evolved incredibly and he's been able to pick apart defenses thrown at him like Luka was doing. You just feel how much impact he has finding open guys, drawing defenses away, and making smarter and more efficient plays. The explosiveness Shaq is talking about is what left him gassed in last year's WCF (reminiscent of how Shaq would sometimes look gassed towards the end of a crucial series tbh), so thank god he's not going for that.

  13. For sure Randle is a better playoff performer than Kat. There bench is better, Ant has gotten better too. Mcdaniels too. Only player that has regressed a little bit is Gobert.
