The San Antonio Spurs are about to make the craziest trade in NBA history. Now, I know that might be an insane claim considering what the Dallas Mavericks did this season, but just hear me out. Since Victor Webbyama and De’aran Fox missed the latter half of the NBA season with injuries, the San Antonio Spurs have been rumored to be interested in trading for Giannis Edmpo. But due to how much the Spurs would have to give up, this seemed impossible up until now where everything just changed. The San Antonio Spurs, against all odds, just secured the second overall pick in the NBA draft, meaning they now have more assets than ever. The Spurs have the number two overall pick, Jeremy Sohan, Devin Vel, more future first round picks, and of course, the reigning rookie of the year, Stfon Castle. Combine that with the fact that Victor Webbyama is still getting paid $11 million a year, and the Spurs have more than enough salary cap space to take on Giannis’ contract. Can you imagine a front court of Victor Webbyama and Giannis and Adakmpo? it would be one of the best defensive teams in recent history.

As a Spurs fan, I really hope that they don't. I would rather slow roll the rebuild than trade for a win now situation. It's what the Spurs have always done and it works out well.

How the hell the Spurs keep getting top 5, top 10 picks? When they’ve been consistently an above average team the past 25 years? No other team has gotten this many top picks, and those team sucks every year.

If he goes to spurs the league is screwed, it’s better he goes to rockets so that Milwaukee gets its fair share of picks and players for Gianni’s. And the rockets get a star player that can help them make it farther In the plays offs. That’s what is most logical, reasonable and realistic option

Major Spurs fan here. A slow rebuild is usually their way but this is a once in a life time opportunity to recreate the David Robinson/ Tim Duncan duo. This would place the Spurs back in race for a chip and create a dynasty to do it.
