NBA TODAY | Ant & Wolves are playing like top seed – Windy on Timberwolves lead Warriors 3-1 series

All [Music] right, let’s get back to Chase Center. Game four and the Wolves looking to keep their momentum versus the Stephless Warriors. There’s Steph Curry right there. And doing his best Steph Curry impersonation pregame even with a little night night, too. Sometimes say pregame. Dave Buster’s play of the game. Look at Ann right here before the half. Dave Patch, Tim Leggler, Katie George on the call. Nailed that one just like did from 30 ft. They double team it from 30 ft. Still made it. Yeah. Here’s I told him we only got two wins. Um I’ve never seen a series 8 to one. So I told him uh you know we got to get two more wins and right now we playing like we already got four wins. Like we playing like they going to lay down. And knowing this team, knowing the head coach, they never going to lay down. That’s what he said at halftime. And here’s what happened in the third quarter. Him and Julius Randle just went to work. Yeah, it got now Doo got high. He was had a great series all season long. He’s the ball all playoffs, you know. Yeah. They almost worked 40 in the quarter. Look at this shot. Had a crazy. Too strong. Too strong. Ant-Man again. The step back. The three was fallen. I had just come up the elevator. I was working on another story in the first half. got out the elevator and I’m like, where are all these Warriors fans going? They were out. They were out late in the first. Here’s how it went down in the third quarter after that great pocket pass from Danchenzo to Randall. That one time, J. Yeah, they got on the Bay Bridge, dog. They were out. So, Minnesota takes a 3-1 lead. Here’s some more of the postgame yaky yak. Trust me, man. I I wish he could be out there um to play against him no matter how it goes. Um, but yeah, just from working out with him in the summer, that’s what I told him uh after I hit a Tracy cuz he told me I had missed one. He was like, “You ain’t going to make that. You was too open.” And I was like, “I ain’t going to never stop shooting him.” I learned that from you this summer. So, um, yeah, man. He um, he’s the greatest. I mean, it’s Ant like Ant’s I mean, the brightest star in the room. Um, and not just from what he does on the basketball court, his personality, how he brings everybody together. um you know how he can communicate and just light up a room. You know what I mean? He has that it factor. One of those kids didn’t look all that impressed I feel like on Julius’s big night. All right. Ann has struggled in the first half throughout this series averaging seven and a half points per game on 26% shooting. But he’s turned it on after halftime going for almost 20 a game on 64% shooting in second halves against the Warriors. So Wendy, the Warriors take a commanding or excuse me, the T-Wolves take a commanding lead led by Anthony Edwards. All right, they’ve been here last year, but why will this go around go differently? Well, I think last year, you know, they got up 20 on the road in Denver. They come back home and they let the Nuggets take two games from them. They end up winning in seven. By the time they got to the conference finals, they were totally emotionally and physically and mentally gassed. So, I think they see a wounded team here with stuff out. They’re not going to let that happen again. if they’re going to get a gift and get a chance to win the series maybe easier than they thought, then take the gift and try to close it out in as few games as possible. I saw that vision and that all business approach throughout the entire game last night. You know, on the flip side with Steph, uh I was really watching him at the end of the game. He banged his chair once. He talked with Jimmy who was sick. I’m sure it was interesting conversation there. And then when the game was over, typically the injured dude’s gone first. He was the last one to leave. He’s kind of looking around the arena, taking it all in, which likely was for the last time. You know, after the game, I went up to him and asked him about playing tomorrow, and he basically told me it was unlikely. And I I told him that Draymond had said in the press conference that they didn’t want him to be Superman. And he basically said, you know, there’s no way I could be Superman even if he wanted to. Even if I wanted to, right? So, yeah, it’s uh beginning of the inevitable, it appears. And um obviously there’s some hope that Steph could come back for game six, but based on what I’m seeing, this team is out of gas, man. Yeah. I mean, pack them up. Looks like they’re going home. And I knew when Steph got the injury that it was going to take some time. A hamstring. I don’t know if anybody’s had one before. I’ve had one. It takes if you want to be safe, probably about two weeks before you can come back and exert that type of explosion for playoff energy. Uh a week and a half is really pushing it. Um, but even Jimmy’s play, just watching Jimmy play last night, it told me that Steph’s not coming back. Because if he had any idea that Steph had a chance of coming back, he would have given his all and trying to find a way to get them one win so that Steph could come back for game six or seven. But Jimmy last night, even though he is older, I know he’s getting gassed. He’s not able to do what he’s a has done in the past in Miami. But, you know, he just showed his lack of aggression showed me that there was no hope for Steph coming back. and he was like, “I’m not going to exert that energy and kill myself to where we don’t have a chance because our Batman’s not going to show up.” Yeah. Uh Pass and Lugler were talking about that during the game. They were waiting for him to kind of take over and it just never happened. Brian. Yeah. I mean, he was under the weather. I don’t know how much that affected him, but the Wolves also did a really good job of focusing on him. You know, they have great length. I mean, Lakers learned this the the the the size difference and the depth difference matters. Yeah. The Wolves are deeper right now because the Steph is out and they’re bigger and they’ve used that to their advantage. I I think Jimmy’s in a lot more pain than he’s Oh, I mean, from that first series, you know, you could you could just tell. Yeah, the back injury, right? Well, right. He fell in his like back injury. Danny, you know, when he takes the ball to the whole there’s there’s a big boy way about him and his finishing and his little mid-range jumps and his runners, they’re non-existent. This is Yeah. All right. Well, let’s move forward here. In case you missed it, after the Wolves took game four, Julius Randle’s son, Kai, shared some simple advice he gives his dad before every game. Words that seem to be working. Let’s take a listen. I like to hype him up and I like to um just watch him play and play his hardest. What do you tell him? Always I don’t know. I just tell him to lock in and play good. Good advice. He’s ready to be a coach. The NBA last night. We haven’t even discussed the draft lottery yet. The Dallas Mavericks shocked the league and with the number one pick in this year’s NBA draft, they had a 1.8% chance. Okay, the team that traded Luca Donich this winner now has an opportunity to draft Cooper Flag. A possible franchise changing player. Here’s a look at the odds to win the top overall pick for the teams that landed in the top five. I mentioned the Mavs 1.8% chance to win the lottery came through. The Spurs only had a 6% chance to win it and wound up moving to two. And check out the reaction here from the Mavs front office. Nico and company when they heard the big news last night. The second pick will be made by the 2025 NBA. [Applause] Is that at Nick and Sams over there in Dallas? No, they were in Chicago. Nashville. Yeah. Oh, there you go. Here. Uh, the looks on their faces tells you everything you need to know. Cooper Flag might be a lock to go number one, but Flag is at the NBA combine today in Chicago taking part in drills with all the top draft prospects. Our draft expert, Jonathan Gabon, is on hand now here with us. Hey, Jonathan, thank you for joining us. What did Cooper Flag show the scouts today? George, first of all, he measured taller than expected. He seems to have grown an inch in the past year. 6’9 in shoes, 7 foot wingspan, 221 lb frame. Similar dimensions to Scotty Pippen at the same age. Now came into the building today full of life, full of energy in every drill, talking to everybody, bringing energy, helping uh, you know, the coaches and went into the drills and shot it exceptionally well. The star shooting drill didn’t miss. Went at a long stretch where he looked like he was making every shot. He was obviously the number one pick going in, but nothing he showed today diminished that standing. Cooper flag is going to be the number one pick. The Dallas Mavericks have to be thrilled to get this kid on on their team. Yeah, I I don’t think there’s any question about that. Jonathan, thank you so much for the time. Keep up the great work, my man. [Music] Is that [Music] okay? Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. [Music] two [Music] I knew. One minute. Do it again. [Music] Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. [Music] Look, look. Spaghetti. Look at it. [Music] Good boy. There you go. I do want to do it. I in your home. And I continue here. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. [Music] Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Play away. [Music]

  1. They are not playing great they are just playing with a team that doesnot have their best player 🤷🏽

  2. Ant just knocked out the goat and Luca .. he’s not even trying until the 3rd quarter against these scrubs

  3. Imagine when the Wolves DO play great? They’ll be able to beat anyone. Best regular season bench in the league – has been largely silent in the post season

  4. I cannot stand Minnesota sports!! They are weak, soft, and they choke! There is only 1 Champion in Minnesota and that is Kirby Puckett!! 🏆 🏆
The wolves will never win a ring 💍 under 🐜 ant. They can be contenders, but they will not be number 1!

  5. Jimmy Butler has never been all that they tried to make him out to be. The sports media that is. I have been bewildered for the longest how this cat has gotten away playing the fraud. During the playoffs with Boston, etc. where he got his playoff jimmy name, dude disappeared for like 3 games. He rides the 40pt game forever and people just ignore all the other games where he disappears. And it is not about him just choosing to be not aggressive. He was scared of shooting. He throws responsibility onto everyone else. Which freakin scorer in this life passes the ball to Draymond Orange OR Green with 3 sec left on the shot clock? He did that more than once to lesser shooters. He not just avoids responsibility; he ditches the ball to role players or lesser shooters in situations and wants credit for being supposedly unselfish or a facilitator. Neither health, age, nor fatigue has anything to do with it. Lies, all lies. This is nothing new. Trust.

  6. Dallas was promised the number 1 seer. No worries no one will ever admit it so it will always be a "conspiracy theory " haha i will never buy it

  7. Aww jimmys sick. Jimmys sick. A lot of excuses. Always a lot of excuses for the warriors when they lose.

  8. what is this god awful music we're hearing? Really distracting in that I can't hear what anybody is saying!

  9. Christ, the excuses ESPN makes for the glamour franchises of the NBA is nauseating. Oh, Stephs out….Oh, Jimmy was sick…Oh, Jimmy is still hurting from the last series….blah blah blah…Ant had a 240lb Lebron crash on his ankle and then a 250lb Trayce Jackson-Davis-Johnson-Woodson-Davidson (oh whatever the hell his name is) land on it. Nobody is mentioning that. If you're in the game, then you're not sick/injured. If you decide to play, there are no excuses. Sack up or sit out.
