Sixers WILLING To Trade Pick? | Draft Expert Gives Ace Bailey HUGE Praise! | Paul George Wants Ace!
It is time to buckle up because the draft chatter is heating up as today we have a new rumor about the Sixers fielding trade offers for the third overall pick. Is this the right decision or are they just doing their due diligence? Also, Ace Bailey gave two answers at the combine that have Sixers fans spiraling. One draft analyst says that Ace Bailey should be the luck at number three. And lastly, Paul George doubles down on his take about Ace Bailey. We’ll get into all of it, but welcome in to Philly Take with RB. I’m RB. We cover the 76ers every single day. It feels like there’s finally some juice within the fan base, right? The Sixers have a chance to get one of the top prospects in the entire NBA draft. And before we jump into that, I want to give you guys a quick sneak peek at my first official big board. I will be dropping these weekly on Instagram and Twitter, so be sure to check us out on there. Give us a follow. But just got this out and I wanted to give you guys a look because here are the top six players early in this process that I would have at number three for the Sixers. So, do you agree? Do you disagree? Where would you rank these players? But is it going to happen? Do you think they should at all field offers for the third pick? Give me your thoughts down below because we started off with a rumor today coming out from Sam Vine of the Athletic and he says quote the Sixers will reportedly listen to trade offers for the third overall pick. He also talks about Ace Bailey and how he’s being compared to other prospects like VJ Edgecomb. And apparently VJ Edgecomb has been seen as a more ready now player than Ace Bailey whereas Ace Bailey is just being seen as a project. We take it over to the article here on Bleacher Report that gives us more of a recap of this information. And I’ll tell you what, I mean, at the end of the day, this is a team that has to do their due diligence, right? I said that yesterday. Like, you have to explore all options. But I would seriously hope that Daryl my comments on the radio the other day about what their process is and about how they feel confident, right, in who they’re going to take. I hope that stands because as of right now, I would still lean towards drafting a player. You don’t always get the chance to do this. But anyway, here’s what Sam Vine of the Athletic said. He says that Ace Bailey has been seen as the biggest upside swing in the draft and he fills a theoretical position of need for Philly as a big wing. However, he is also viewed as more of a project by scouts and executives. And this is a Sixers front office that likely needs to win next year to keep its jobs, right? We’ve said that a lot. Like this draft pick and whether they develop the right way or not, whether they’re ready, whether the Sixers can get back on track next year, all of that is going to help decide whether Daryl my Nick Nurse have jobs next season at the end. It says that uh he’s gotten a wider sense of appreciation from the NBA front offices for VJ Edgecomb than Ace Bailey. However, this is where it gets interesting. Vine says that there could be pressure for the Sixers to win now. They clearly need more help on the wing. So either Bailey or Edgecom makes sense. But if Edgecom is seen as the more developed prospect right now, aka more of a win now prospect, then it would not be a surprise to see Philly go down that route. So apparently VJ Edgecom is getting more buzz around the league and teams think that he’s a more ready now player. We talked about him yesterday, right? a guy who has that two-way ability, great perimeter defender, maybe could be a defensive player of the year one day, you know, has great spot up shooting, has a little bit of everything, still needs to work on his handle and his facilitation and be more of a primary creator, but he feels like a plugandplay guy. And I talked about him yesterday saying he’s one of those guys that just makes those wow plays sometimes. You look at him and you’re like, damn, how the heck did he make that happen? Whereas Ace Bailey has all the measurables, the elite traits, the elite potential. The question is how fast will it take to develop? So I do think Sam makes a good point here by saying if the Sixers really want to win this next season, are they going in this draft with the mindset for the most win now player? And in that case, maybe it is VJ Edgecom. I just think the more I hear and the more I watch and again nothing is set in stone as of right now. But the more I see it just feels like Ace Bailey really has those traits that could develop him into an elite forward one day. So, I’m liking what we’re seeing. Next week, we’ll dive more into the nitty-gritty of all of it. But today, we take a little bit of insight from Jonathan Javon, who I mentioned yesterday. He’s there at the combine talking with all these players and, you know, getting the breakdowns and all the final stats and stuff. He was on a podcast with Kevin O’Connor, and he said, quote, “I love Ace Bailey. If I’m Philadelphia, I am 100% drafting him at third overall.” So look, Jonathan Javon used to be on ESPN. He led the draft coverage. I truly believe in his analysis and his insight. And if he has this type of high praise for Ace Bailey, I know he has to talk positively in a way about all these prospects, but if he’s that high on Ace Bailey and he’s the one recording these videos and talking to these guys, then I kind of agree with him, you know, and I think he has that firsthand experience to kind of check it out. But let’s talk about Ace Bailey because Ace Bailey sent the fan base spiraling yesterday. Again, once again, it’s been a very weird like split right down the middle of the fan base. Some people love this guy and some people hate him. I’m in the middle where I want to believe in his potential and I want to let this process play out, no pun intended, and see how things go. But based on what I’ve seen, based on a few of the games I’ve watched so far, he seems like a guy who could develop into a really elite talent at the next level if he has the right development. I want to harp on that because sometimes people don’t realize it’s not just about the prospect, but it’s about where you go as well. And the Sixers haven’t done a particularly solid job in developing talent. But I just think this guy has some of the traits. Anyway, here’s what he said at the Combine interview yesterday. He said, “What might be a bad shot to you, you don’t work on it, I work on it.” And all of the negative Ace Bailey fans said, “Well, this means he’s just going to be a ball hog. He’s just going to come in and take whatever shots he wants, and his shot selection was terrible. He had under two assists per game. He’s a ball hog. This, this, and that.” If that’s what people got out of this quote, I mean, great. I’m not saying it was an amazing quote, but in this question, he was talking about responding to double teams and triple teams. So, I do think it was taken a bit out of context, and I didn’t view it as him saying, “I’m I’m just going to come in and go up against every triple team and take shots.” The other thing that people need to realize is that Ace Bailey at Ruckers was playing with a top five talent in Dylan Harper, but he was playing with three other guys that will not be playing basketball in a couple years. No offense to them, right? And and Ruckers, shout out to them. But he was playing with guys that just simply aren’t that good. And if we’re going to start getting on Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper for some of their flaws, then we also have to maybe go at some of the guys that were in the March Madness tournament that played on these better teams that didn’t come up big in some games, right? Cuz they had all this great talent around them. So, if you’re going to work it one way, you have to at least take it into account the other way as well. And for a guy that’s saying, “I’m getting in the gym, working as hard as I can, trying to perfect my shot, even if it’s a bad shot. I’m trying to practice bad shots and be better at just, you know, making shots anywhere on the floor.” I didn’t take it as such a negative thing. I mean, we could go the other end of the spectrum where Ben Simmons never worked on his shot for four to five years. Now, we have a guy that actually wants to work on his game and we’re mad at him. I just think it was taken a bit out of context and people are just going a little wild. And this quote just came out today. I know people are going to run with this too, but he was asked about uh his strengths and weaknesses and he was kind of joking. So, I know people need to actually listen to it with, you know, to not take it out of context, but they won’t. Anyway, he said, “I ain’t got no weaknesses and I got more than two strengths, big dog.” So, he was half joking, but I love his confidence. I love how enthusiastic this guy is. Every question I’ve heard to him so far, he’s willing to answer. He’s willing to give the extra explanation and time. and he just he sounds like a guy with a high motor. Like he’s hungry, he wants to work, he wants to win, and he sounds like he’s going to be a dog that stays in the gym. Kind of like a Tyrese Maxi. So, I like everything I’ve heard so far. Now, here is a stat from last season at Ruckers. Muhammad puts this on Twitter. He says, “Defensive plays like this make it hard to overlook Ace Bailey’s upside as a wing. Opposing scorers shot 30.8% on jump shots and 40.9% at the rim when guarded by Ace Bailey.” So, he’s an average defender right now, but like I said, he’s got the length, he has the wingspan, the standing reach, and he’s also been pretty solid as a weak side helper. He’s gotten his hand on some blocks. He has that long reach. He can get up and his rebounds numbers are there. His blocks, his steals, both over one last year. I think he has a lot of potential on the defensive side as well. And going back to what I just said, you know, if he comes into Philly and he’s not going to have the ball in his hands a lot and he can just be a catch and shoot 3 and D guy at first as they develop his handle, I think the potential’s there for this guy to be really good in the first couple of seasons. Let me know what you think down below. Here are some extended stats that I’m seeing about Ace Bailey. And like I said, we’ll do a a deeper dive next week, but people are harping on the fact that his three-point percentage wasn’t that good. his percentage at the rim wasn’t that good, 61% and his non rim two point uh percentage 46% is not that good. So, look, I understand he’s not the perfect player. All of the players in the draft are prospects. They are not perfect players by any means. So, we can look at a stat or a game or whatever from every one of these players and say that’s why he’s not going to be good at the next level. Again, it comes back to the development. It comes back to what kind of a worker is he? What’s his mentality? You know, does he have the measurables, right? There’s guys that are amazing in college. They’re just too small to play at the next level. So, these are all things that I like to take into account. And so far, I think he passes a lot of tests. No, his numbers aren’t the best. They’re the percentages aren’t great. They’re not perfect, but there is a lot of upside there on both sides of the ball. So, just be patient. If he is the pick at three, I would not be mad at all. But, there’s also a handful of prospects I’d also like at three. So, I’m not close-minded. Lastly, Paul George doubles down on Ace Bailey’s upside. Here’s what Podcast P said. Big- time potential. He has big-time talent. He can score from any spot on the floor. He has an isolation game, which you don’t see that often in kids that size that early. He can make plays. He can shoot over top of defenses. He can take advantage of mismatches. He can handle the ball in pick and rolls. He can catch and shoot. He can defend. I’ve seen him play elite defense on chase down blocks, running guys off threes. So, Paul George with a lot of appreciation and a lot of praise for Ace Bailey. This was a stat I saw yesterday. Ace Bailey was the first D1 freshman this past season with multiple 35 point games on the road since Trey Young in 2017. So, hey, that’s impressive for a guy that they say can’t dribble, right? And PG just talked about all the ways he can beat you and score. And that’s without having a really good handle just yet. So imagine if he can develop that and get there. This guy is going to be a stud. I really believe that and if it’s with the 76ers, I will be tremendously happy. But those are just my thoughts. It feels like everybody’s doubling down on Ace Bailey right now or the Sixers could end up trading the pick and moving back. Give me your thoughts down below. What should they do? Appreciate everybody for tapping in. As always, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe. And I’ll catch youall on the next one. Peace.
The Sixers draft chatter continues, but today there is a new wrinkle. Reportedly, the Sixers are willing to hear trade offers for the 3rd pick? Is this a good idea, or are they just doing their due diligence? In other news, a draft analyst calls Ace Bailey “100%” the pick for the Sixers at 3. Ace Bailey had two quotes that stirred up a ton of discussion in the fanbase. And lastly, Paul George doubles down on his desire for the Sixers to draft the Rutgers forward. Today, we discuss it all!

If you were the Sixers, would you trade the pick for anything?
Ace can't be any worst than Tobias
The 76ers can afford to take on a "project" with high upside. Sixers aren't a real lottery team, and Bailey would be the #4 option. He can develop for 1-2 years before he'd really need to step up.
I just dont want to go the Ben route again with just hoping he's going to improve
Keep the pick and draft Ace
No to Ace, Rutgers program didn't play any elite teams, there not battle tested. Draft Kon K. from Duke.
Love the board🔥
It's this simple, Daryl has watched every game from Harper and Ace. They are local kids, so trust they have been scouted to the T. We can't lose with our pick.
This will be fun to revisit in 2 yrs yawl😮
The Morey season is underway…Sixers just don’t know what to do with a high pick..
Just get Ace of Spade ♠️ 😪 Trade Embiid and PG get some ballers.
They can't win next year with bum Embiid and PG has fallen off the cliff 🎉
terrible pick
Maxey
Mccain
Joe
Edwards
Yabu
Tj mcconnel
Roco
Jermi grant
Bona
“Sixers arent great at player development” excuse me? I love ur content but thats a brutal take
Has anyone figured out yet the pick dont matter ?it matters what vegas says and whos the Ref that night..
They not going to trade the pick they know they lucky to have it it wouldn’t make sense bro
The Sixers are not trading the #3 pick.
I’ll be so glad when the draft is over so I never have to hear about Edegecombe again
Ace Bailey is the selection
If they trade the pick I'm done lol.
Trade the 3rd pick & Maxey for Donovan Mitchell. if im a GM, im pulling the trigger
Please don't react to stupid speculation !" Every team other than the Maverick's are listening to offers !" That is "par to the course" when you have a high draft pick in a draft this talented !" Ace bailey would have gone first in last year's draft !"
Ace Bailey is the pick for the 76ers. The sixers should not trade Ace Bailey don't listen to PG he's nothing PG did nothing for the sixers. But should'nt trade Ace Bailey. If anyone the sixers should get rid of is PG & Embiid they hurt all the times.
If the sixers trade Ace Bailey I am done with sixers.
If the sixers trade Ace Bailey I am done with sixers.
If the sixers trade Ace Bailey I am done with sixers.
If the sixers trade Ace Bailey I am done with sixers.
If the sixers trade Ace Bailey I am done with sixers.
Ace is it!
We beg and plead for an athletic wing with size and scoring ability for the last 5 years and we get an opportunity to have one fall in our hands in the draft just to ponder about trading the pick. Morey needs to hold onto this pick man. And Sixers fans need to stop being so pessimistic about Ace. He’s 18 freaking years old and can develop overtime. EVERY rookie that is bound to get drafted has things to work on and no rookie is gonna come into the league perfect. Everybody that’s complaining about Ace is probably just some salty Cooper Flagg fanboy that’s salty we didnt get the first pick.
I don’t understand the Sixers just draft the dam pick they make every thing complicated
Im not in a hurry, or on Moreys/Embiids timetable. Draft Ace
You dont have another 1st round pick until 2028. Choose wisely
