The NBA Just BLESSED The Mavs…

The NBA just blessed the Dallas Mavericks. After a tumultuous season filled with heartache, disappointment, injuries, missing the playoffs, Adam Silver, through means of backdoor dealing, secret conversations, private meetings, and secret society rituals, was able to bless the Dallas Mavericks with the number one overall pick, which only means one thing. Cooper Flag is a Dallas Maverick. So, in this video, we’re going to go over the whole draft situation. How did this even happen? What were our odds and what does this mean for the Mavericks moving forward? But how’s it going everybody? My name is Marcel Martin. This is Mavericks Digest, bringing you the latest news on everything Mavericks related. And before we get started with today’s video, only 50% of you guys watching are not subscribed. The other 49.9% are. If you don’t want to be a part of that 50%, if you want to be up to date on everything that your favorite team is doing, it might be the offseason. It’s not my off seasonason. So, go ahead and subscribe so you don’t miss out on a single thing that the Mavericks are going to do. But like I said, the Dallas Mavericks, not just the organization, not just the players, but the fans as well, have been blessed by the basketball gods through means of probably something that would require an investigation because I first of all, I don’t understand how you trade away Luca Dantis at the trade deadline. You upset the entire fan base. The whole world is laughing at you. and you turn around three months later with with the best odds to get the 11th overall pick, but instead you get the number one overall pick. And this is the final draft draft order for this upcoming draft. The Dallas Mavericks beat the San Antonio Spurs. We beat the Utah Jazz. Jazz didn’t even get in the top four. They they got the fifth overall pick and they had some pretty good odds. They had the what 14% to get the number one pick. But the Dallas Mavericks with only 1.8 8% chance to get the number one pick. Got the number one pick. We won the lottery. So, in this year’s upcoming lottery, it it goes the Dallas Mavericks with one, then San Antonio, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Utah, Washington, New Orleans, Brooklyn, Toronto, Phoenix, and Portland, followed by Chicago, Sacramento, and then Atlanta. Some of those picks do go to other teams, but if you take a look at this, only three teams moved up and everybody moved down. This draft got to be rigged. You got I mean, it’s absolutely insane on how this went down. The Mavericks were either going to get the bottom four pick, either the 11th, 12th, 13th, or 14th pick, or we were going to get a top four pick, one, two, three, or four. Top four. And we’re not four. We got the number one overall pick. And there were a lot of good players in this year’s draft. even the top three. I know I’ve been making videos going over a few players I’ve already talked about that were most likely fall towards the end of the lottery and they’re on the 11th to the 14th pick, but in the top four, especially as the number one pick, obviously we all know you get Cooper Flack, but there are other players that we still need to take a look at because although myself included, we’re all very enamored at the fact that we now have Cooper Flag. Not only does this extend that window that we were told was only like two to three years because we don’t have any young players, we got no picks, but now that we do have the number one overall pick, that window just extended. This team is in a way in better hands for the future. Now, Nico, all he has to do is draft Cooper Flag. That’s all you got to do when when you you have the number one pick. You’re the first one up when it’s your when when you’re ready to start it off. Cooper flag. That’s all I got to say. Cooper flag. If it’s Ace Bailey, Dylan Harper, we’ll have a conversation about it. If it’s anybody else out of those three, you got a problem. But Cooper Flag, I hope Nico is practicing on how he says Cooper Flag because that’s all you’re going to need to know between now and June. But if we take a look right here, Cooper Flag, he is a 6 foot forward out of Duke for those that may be unfamiliar with who we’re about to get. Averaged 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game while shooting 48% in college. That’s absolutely amazing. A lot of people have said that he was the absolute best defender in this year’s upcoming draft, which is great. The motto for the Mavericks, as we’ve all known since February, is defense wins championships. Defense wins championships. And at least we are get or we’re about to get the best defender in the draft or at least the best defender in college. Of course, we don’t know how these players are going to pan out in the next few years. We may pick wrong. Maybe it’s someone else in the draft that’s going to be the best player. But as it stands right now, we can’t think about the future too much. We can’t think about how these players are going to pan out. We really got to think about who is the best right now and who can we get the best out of. You have the number one overall pick. Any other team is picking Cooper Flag. The Mavericks should pick Cooper Flag. The problem that comes into play cuz it’s not that easy. There’s a whole new set of problems now. We still need a point guard. Whether we trust Brandon Williams and maybe Jaden Hardy and possibly Dante or Spencer Short, that can be your guard rotation. But is that the best that you can really come up with? You have AD at the four. Gafford wants starter center money, but he will still be our starting center for this upcoming year. Followed by Lively. You got PG at the four. We are a stacked team in the front court. Our four and fives, even our threes, we have size. It’s the guard position that we’re slacking in. Cooper Flag, although sure you could probably put him at the one spot, that doesn’t really solve that problem. Cooper Flag will most likely play the three or the four. Which means what for Klay Thompson and PJ Washington? Will Klay come off the bench for Young Cooper Flag? Will PJ come off the bench for Young Cooper Flag? Will Klay or PJ get traded? Will Nico decide to go all in for Kevin Durant, trade the pick for Giannis? There’s a lot of unknowns and I don’t think Nico is going to do anything dumb with this pick. Like I said, the easiest thing that he can do between now and June, Cooper Flag, two names, two two names. Put them together, that’s your pick. Don’t say Cooper. Don’t say flag. Cooper flag together. That’s all Nico has to do. It’s that easy. But after that, then comes more issues. You have to decide on the construction of this roster. We are obviously still competing. We’re trying to stay competitive. Cooper can help us with that, but in what capacity? Any other lottery team is playing Cooper as our starting player, and you are now the focal point. Cooper being a number one pick, most likely. It hasn’t happened yet, but if and when we select Cooper with the number one overall pick, you are now joining a competing team with good players, where do you fit? Where will you fit? There’s a lot of questions and that’s where that’s where the skill and expertise of Nico Harrison as well as Jason Kid will have to be on full display. Are you going to draft Cooper Flag and have him come off the bench and that’s just it? He’s a young bench player. Or are you going to let Cooper Flag play and show everybody exactly who he is? he has the potential to be rookie of the year and a lot of players that are rookie of the year are playing on teams that don’t really succeed that well in the postseason that that same year. So you have more more of a chance to show them what you can do. But Cooper Flag is about to join a team that is trying to compete. Will he be able to showcase that he is the rookie of the year? Will we give him that much of a leash his rookie year or who knows? It’s up to Jason Kids, up to Nico. It’s a lot of questions. Who else who else are we going to get? Are we going to trade for another guard? Are we going to trade for someone else? Who stays? who goes. The questions are now surmounting and it is absolutely insane that we got the number one overall pick. First time ever in franchise history that we moved up in the draft, let alone move from the 11th pick to the first pick. Absolutely madness. The NBA’s rigged. There was some some exchange of of a soul for the number one pick. We gave up somebody for this pick. Something crazy went down cuz this just doesn’t make sense. Not only did the Dallas Mavericks get the number one overall pick, also the WNBA team, the Dallas Wings, who who drafted Paige, they also had the number one pick. So there there there you have it. That’s what we got going on. We have the number one pick, which is absolutely crazy. This changes everything. We’re going to be going we’re going to be going over Cooper Flag for now between now and the NBA draft. Talk about Cooper Flag. How does he fit? Who needs to move? What does his comparison look like in the NBA? What is his ceiling? We’re going to break down Cooper flag between now and the draft as well as any other players because who knows what we may find out. Maybe the Mavericks did do a workout with Cooper. Didn’t like it, but they like someone else. We’re going to be following this entire summer between now and the draft very, very closely. Having the number one overall pick is very, very important. You don’t want to mess it up. You want to draft the right guy, but sometimes the right guy isn’t exactly who everyone thinks. But let me know what you think in the comments section down below. What was your reaction to the Mavericks getting the number one overall pick? I went absolutely insane. and we went live before this video. We you may have seen me just go absolutely crazy, but let me know what your reaction was and we’ll have a conversation about it. But that’s all I got for you guys today. Thanks for making the video. Make sure to check out our Twitter and Discord links in the description below. And as always, y’all take care. Drink water. Peace.

  1. breath of fresh air not just rolling with the "durrrr nico and jason kidd bad gm and coach they will do bad thing" narrative. Like we get it, shit was wild when it happened. Time to move on. I appreciate you being objective and open minded outlook with the potential analysis in the future

  2. I said it from the start, the Luka trade was manifested from meddling behind the iron curtain. Silver needed a super star in LA to counter ratings dropping, Mav owners aren't happy about Texas and its stance on gambling and Nico is a company "yes" man…now all the sudden, Mavs land the first pic. Sounds like the NBA might very realized they tore the heart and soul outta fans and a franchise and this is their redemption…..all too coincidental fellow MFFL.

  3. Chat: What do you think about the Mavs getting Cooper Flagg.
Marcel: We are never going to get Cooper Flagg! Don't even think about it!

  4. You want to know what is going to be better than the playoffs? Michael Jordan coming out of retirement and going to be a contributor on NBC Sports for the 2025-2025 NBA.

  5. If don't you sound like an opp and stop complaining about the Luka trade, then I'll subscribe. Now you're pushing conspiracy theories, huh?…

  6. No…Keep that same "Fire Nico" energy. Luka is a very good yet inefficient offensive player but basketball is a two way sport. Flagg who plays both ways fixes that problem.

  7. I’m not sure Nico will draft Cooper, I honestly think he has biases against non black American players. I’m not saying he’s racist but biases exists, we’ve seen it with Dirk and players like Jeremy Lin. He traded Kleber and didn’t get AR15 or Knecht back.

  8. I hope people lay off Niko Harris now. The man was literally getting death threats and through it all He kept quiet and just did what was best for the mavericks. Yes the NBA is crooked. Yes it's all cheating but that man took some serious abuse when all along he was doing the right thing for the Dallas.

  9. Now I want Mavs to fail, sorry. I cannot imagine what Luka is going through right now. Also, I hope he does not sign with Lakers as well.

  10. This is great – it can only mean one thing – with the number one pick, the Mavericks draft Cooper Flagg – and then Nico Harrison can trade him away for a bag of nickels!

  11. The Lottery was rigged… but overlooked in the hype is that SA now has the draft tools (#2/#14) to trade for Giannis to pair with Wemby. Or will Nico trade Flagg for Giannis first?

  12. And now with Luka coming back to Dallas when his player option contract comes up, the Mavericks are more than set for the future. Winning

  13. People are forgetting the NBA is a billionaire dollar business. The F with a clean lottery process. The league needs to generate money and ratings!!!

  14. Marcel: Nico all you have to do is draft Cooper Flagg. "Cooper Flagg" "That's all you have to say. Just two words not Cooper, not Flagg. Cooper Flagg." 😆🤣

  15. This was literally the only way to get Mav’s fans re-engaged with the franchise. If it’s rigged, it’s a strong business move by the league. The Mav’s probably didn’t deserve the first pick in the draft but they needed it the most. If you’re the commissioner, why would you leave the future of league up to random chance?
