NBA LIVE: Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks | Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 | May 17, 2025 2K25

And the Pacers looking at who they’ve got. Nimhard and Matherin. They’re the wings. Seakum at power forward with Turner in it center. And it’s Hallebertton in at the point guard position. And it’s one of these nights where just everything coming together for Anobi. Hallebertton. The pass to Turner. Seakum outside with a tie. Jaylen Brunson taps a miss. This has been a close game in a lot of ways, but they do have an edge on the boards. Hart finds Brunson. And here’s McBride. Oh, and makes it with the kiss. And now a five-point Nick lead. Okay, good game plan. Start the second half. Three of four so far from the field. Hallebertton. The pass to Seakum. Now Turner covered by Towns. Nice shot by Turner. Turner’s gotten four this quarter. Hey, when you’re as big as a guy like Turner, that’s what you’re supposed to do. Attack in the painted area. All right, let’s get a report from Alli. Brian Miles Turner, the 11th pick by the Pacers in 2015. For much of his career with the team, he’s endured the trade rumors. He said, “I’ve still got PTSD from that, but I wanted to be here in Indie. And last season, a renegotiation of his contract, giving him an extension and a raise.” Brian, he is locked in as their starting center. Yeah, it would appear so. Ally, thank you. Alleton on the wing. No stopping him there. jams it in and he’s fouled. An opportunity at a three-point play. It’s going to be on Carl Anthony Towns. Yeah. And I can’t help but remember Tyrese Hallebertton in the 2024 All-Star game. A spectacular performance from him in that one. And the icing on the cake, him dropping the shot that took the East point total to over 200 points. We throw good Hallebertton. You know, young players who come into the league, you want to see if they can bring it every night. Hallebertton certainly fit that bill. Back to Brunson. Pass to Anobi. Hallebertton against Brunson. Inside. Here’s Hart. Yes. And a nice assist from Brunson. Hart’s got eight. Hey, they’re just getting pushed around inside. [Applause] Out left to the wings. Mather passes to Seakum. Now here’s Elurn. The three ball and the rebound goes to the Knicks. Towns has got six rebounds now in the game. They’ve been dominating the boards tonight. Yet, it’s still a close game outside. McBride picks it out. Towns. This one for three. Pacers with a rebound. And after this one, they’re at home against Philadelphia. And that’s a oneame home stand for the club. Turner no good. He’s so good at getting to the rim. maybe tries to get a little bit too cute with that one. I thought he lay it straight up and in. Here’s Brunson. Pass to Towns. Uncovered and scoring. That now makes him seven for 11 in this game. This looks like he’s got more feel tonight. Like he’s really got a good grip on that ball as he’s letting it go. And it’s Rick Carile calling timeout here. A moment to rest and confer on the game plan. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. All right, let’s take a quick pause and look at the best shooting teams from last season. Number one, the Pacers. Tremendous efficiency on offense. They were willing to put in their work to get great looks. Pacers trail by six. Seakum with it. He has seven. Pass to Hallebertton. Turner. A screen on Brunson. Hallebertton against Brunson. The finish inside from Hallebertton. Athleticism showing off here for Hallebertton. He gets where he needs to be. Nice job on that drive. Now it’s hard outside Anobi. [Music] And he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. And they’ll give that one to Miles Turner. Almost 7 ft tall. Towns has the length to get to the line. A tough guy to guard. And a moment to check out the scoring breakdown for the Knicks. What a performance for beyond the arc in this game. They stuck to their guns and it’s paid off all game. All game long they’ve just done a great job of keeping the pressure on the defense and penetrating with the pass. They’ve gotten everything inside and they’ve converted there. Well, you hear team execs say all the time, you’re either selling wins or you’re selling hope. How true is that, Bren? Well, if you’re an executive BA, just be right about whatever it is that you’re selling. And you got to be realistic. I mean, fans are smart. They understand where your team is. Are you a playoff competitor? Are you young and growing? So that’s hope. If you’re going deep into the playoff run, you want the wins. To have a big who’s great at the line. Such a plus. Hallebertton. Pass to knee. Down low. Here’s Turner. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. It’s going to be on Carl Anthony Towns. When you think about Turner, one of the best shot blockers in the league, who can also score at all three levels. He’s off in the first. When the Knicks are having a good season, it is amazing how excited their fans get. Well, it’s been generations, BA, that have been salivating for this franchise to get back to its winning ways. The last championship came in 1973. So, as a fan, you can’t help but get fired up and there’s a chance at a title run. And he’s good on the second. New York leading by five. Outside Hart back to McBride. Here’s Towns. The rebound by Turner. Turner’s got four rebounds now. Now here’s Demar. McBride covers. Hallebert against Brunson. Oh, Hallebert not backing down. You know, they’re really being bullied right now defensively. Eight of the last 10 points have come from the inside. Pass to Brunson. Rejected by Hallebertton. It’s just a tremendous defensive effort from Hallebertton. Lee Smith on the wing and an OB covering with a tie. Towns with a rebound. Towns has got eight rebounds in the game. McBride passes to Brunson. Towns has on Hallebertton. Inside goes Brunson. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. Brent, everyone loves an underdog story. And there’s few better than that of Jaylen Brunson. Yeah. This kid falling into the second round and all the perception around whether or not he was big enough or can he shoot the ball. Is he athletic enough? This guy’s continued to work hard every year and turned himself into an all-star and an AllNBA player. With Brunson being undersized, he has such a great feel for how to create space. sprint. Incredible footwork, BA. The way he puts the needle on the record and just scratches it and pivots around and makes defenders jump and move. Amazing manipulation skills at the point guard position for a guy his size to get it done in the painted area. 12 free throws. Good from Brunson. How about JB? Jaylen Brunson since that free agent move in 2022 really raising the level of his play. Pass to Turner. from outside from behind the ark. It’s rebounded by McBride. Nick’s leading by five with it outside of Chua. Now Brunson. Clock at six. Look at Hallebertton. Brunson with the bucket. Brunson’s got four points in the quarter. That in between Jay Brunson capable. And here’s Hallebertton. He’ll bring it up for Indiana. Towns against Turner to the paint. It’s stolen by Hart. Fast break. New York. The pull up. Oh, a little luck that time as it drops and it’s a nine-point Nick lead. Totally in rhythm right now. The moment Gruntson has the ball in his hands right into that shot. Nimhard outside. Pass to Hallebertton. They call an illegal screen here. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. And some changes here for the Pacers. Toppin comes in for Turner and TJ McConnell subbed in for Tyrese Hallebertton. Here’s Brunson. He’s marked by McConnell. Now here’s Brunson. The D’s right on him. Off target. That would have pushed the lead to double digits. Pacers trail by nine. Nimhard. The pass to McConnell. Top outside pass to Seakum over Towns Indiana again missing. Time for some consideration in the passing category Kevin. The shot is just not on. Get somebody else going for three. Sinks the tray. Aua’s got eight points. How about the quick shot from Aua not getting the D any time to react. A puddle against Brunson has the topping. They need this. That one’s good on the assist from McConnell. He’s got nine. Oh, you got to love the back and forth. Showing real confidence at the arc. Yeah, both teams finding ways to the three-point line and trying to take advantage from distance. McConnell against Brunson out to the wing. Here’s Towns. He drains it as the shot clock ticks down. Towns has got 20. And it’s always great to see Towns in the zone, bringing a ton of energy to his offensive game. Macallo passes to Seakkum from downtown. And again, it’s the Pacers from deep. Well, that equals his three-point total from the first half. He had one before the break and that’s his first three of this half. Outside of Chua pass to Harden left side. Brunson and Toppin pulls it down. Pacers trail by eight. Right side. N Smith to the inside and he was camped in the lane there. He gets a 3second call. All right, let’s look back on last season for a moment. Here were your scoring leaders. Jaylen Brunson fourth. This is a guy who never took a night off. You look at his numbers and you know that he put in a tremendous effort every single game. And some changes here for New York. Robinson comes in for Hart and Payne is subbed in for Jaylen Brunson. And the Pacers also making a change. Shepard. He’s checked in for Nimhart. Payne against McConnell. Payne. The pass to Aua. Towns outside. A minute and a half left to play in the third quarter here. Back to Aua. Towns on a screen. Here’s Pain outside. Pascal Seakum with the rebound. Seakkum’s got five rebounds in the game. McConnell against Aua. 11 ft out. And that one’s long. He’s got so many ways to score in the post. Just nifty uses fakes. has to have a body on him every time he’s down there. Out to the right wing, fires from deep, hits a three-pointer. McBride’s got five points now this quarter. And Bane just playing eyes up basketball, seeing that opportunity. Pacers trail by 11. Here’s Seakum. 10 points for him. McConnell outside overpay just a tad short, but it’s good off the front iron. McConnell’s got seven. Well, looking into the gaps of the defense there. He’s not going to miss many of those when he gets to that range. Here’s McBride. Excellent D there from Toppen. Indiana has gone two of six from downtown here in the second half. On target from range. Shepard’s got his first three points of the game. We’ve got 22 seconds left in the third. Top it against Towns. Towns is screened on McConnell. He’s paid outside. Indiana with a rebound. Man, you get so caught up in the bravado of someone scoring on you and you wanting to even the score. Unfortunately, he couldn’t answer back. And so it’s New York leading by six as we wrap up the quarter. Getting lots of great looks, shooting it well. That’s why they’re up. More NBA on 2K Sports right after this. Rick Carile had some advice for his team. Let’s hear what he had to say. Hey, hey, it’s all about physical. It’s all about physical. Make sure we’re running back. Touch somebody. Touch somebody. Pleading for his team to be more physical and aggressive. That’s something we hear often from coach Carlile urging his team to play tough out there. We’ve reached the fourth quarter in what has been a very competitive game. Should be an exciting finish. Precious Aua is out there with Carl Anthony Towns. Then there’s Campaign. Then it’s OJ Anomi and it’s Kick in at the shooting guard position. So that’s who’s on the floor for the Knicks. Unforced turnovers. They’ll drive your coach insane. New York making a switch here. McBride’s checked in. Pacers trail by six. Now McConnell pass to Tophen to the middle. Here’s Hallebertton. It’s rebounded by McBride. Well, the Knicks shooting a solid 53% from the floor. To the paint. Here’s Towns and Banks in the layup. Towns has got 22. And that’s the kind of physicality you want to see from Cat using his size down low. McConnell finds Hallebertton. Hallebertton drives. Top it inside. Aua defending and it’s going to be a 3second call. And the upcoming schedule for Indiana on Sunday. They’ll be matching up with Andre Drummond and the Philadelphia 76ers. Then on Monday, they’ll begin a road trip starting in Orlando going up against the Magic. And for their matchup with the Pelicans, that’s going to be their sixth contest on the year. Fans will be curious to see how this team continues to form as the season goes on. Outside Anobi has to pay to the left wing. lets it go. McBride can’t get it to go. His touch from mid-range, that’s almost always good. That won’t shake his confidence. Jackson. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Precious Chua picks one up. Heavy play to stop that easy layup right there. I mean, make him earn it at the line. [Music] The first one falls. both good from the line that time. And we’ve made our way through just over a minute and a half of this fourth quarter. Pay against McConnell. Outside Payne with a screen on McConnell pass to Mua. Ashua with the dunk. Payton just opening things up for this offense by moving the ball. Pacers trail by eight. Toppin outside. McConnell passes to Albertton and Cameron Payne is going to pick up the foul. That’s his first foul of the game. Indiana making a switch here. Nimhart’s checked in. Hallebertton against Payne. There’s a screen by Tophen. Nifty move. Kyres playing big in the painted area. Hallebertton. One of those guys who’s always on his toes and plays the offensive end with a ton of energy. Towns outside with a screen. Jackson against Towns. Kicks it out to Anobi beyond the arc. Knocks down the triple. Anobi’s got 22. Three ball is what makes Inobi such a threat on offense. Hard. The pass to Hallebertton. [Music] Pass to Jackson and the dump by Jackson. Great decision from Tyrese Hallebert and understands when he should look to set up his guy. New York leading by seven. Well, if you’re just tuning in, welcome. We played about three and a half minutes into the fourth quarter [Music] here and Obie Toppen gets the whistle that time. That’s his first foul. Harks checked in for New York. Here’s Paya with a screen on Hallebertton. And here’s Payne outside. Indiana with a rebound. Tooffen’s got four rebounds now. Down low. It’s stolen by Hart inside. Aua inside. He’s against Tophen. Tries again. Aua passes to Payne. Down to five on the shot clock. gets some space and burries the jumper and the Knicks lead by nine. Too much room given to campaign. He recognized it. There’s a screen by Toppenhard right side and it’s out of bounds to Indiana. So for the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson, he’s checked in for Towns. Male Bridges comes in for a Chua and Brunson is subbed in for [Music] pain. Hallebertton outside top screen on Bridges. Just four to shoot. Hallebertton goes through the contact. Tyresese Hallebertton. Defense doing their best to put Hallebertton off balance, but he stays flexible, kind of warps around the defense and adjusts to the contact. Here’s Brunson and the rebound goes to the Pacers. Nimhard outside Smith and there’s a 3second violation. Knicks leading by seven. Brunson surveys into the lane, banging his way through. Jaylen Brunson. Yeah, Brunson’s the kind of guy who’s going to seek you out, try to get that kind of contact. Hallebert against Brunson. [Music] Hallebertton. The pass to Toppin. Brunson against Hallebertton. Six on the shot clock. Back to Tophen. Pass to Hallebertton. Second shot opportunity. Robinson with the block. Well, the ferociousness that Robinson can have around the rim is impressive. to the inside. Oh, deflected heart. So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. And man, looking good from the line so far this [Music] half. Shoot. [Music] First one falls for him. I know this gets said a lot. Josh Hart plays with heart. It’s true though. This guy’s a fantastic competitor. Plays with energy on both ends and it’s infectious for his teammates. And the Knicks making a change here. Jewish checked in. Turner, he’s checked in for Indiana. Pascal Seakkum comes in for Tophen. And both free throws good for Hart. And the NBA has made a significant investment in the G-League over the years. Grant, you can really see the impact it’s had. The NBA and it’s grown into a real minor league for the NBA. The NBA needed something like that for a long time. And it’s the product. The officials were right on top of that one. [Music] First free throw is good. [Music] And so Turner nails them both and Brunson’s got the ball here for the New York Knicks. Nine-point game. Robinson a screen on Hallebertton. Brunson finds Robinson. It’s an even threeon-ree break. Pass to Turner. Seakum for three and it’s New York with a rebound. Robinson’s got seven rebounds in the game that they just continue to dominate the boards. Here’s Brunson. Fantastic work down low from the Brunson. He’s played a huge role in this game to this point, but it looks like he just wants more. He wants to make sure that this lead holds up. Seakov in the post. Pua defending and the basket by Seakob. Well, you know, Seak and getting in that close is pretty much automatic. Knicks leading by nine. Left side. Brunson uses the glass on the layup. Brunson’s got 33 points. Here’s Hallebertton. Nimhard outside. Back to Hallebertton. Pulls up on the wing and it falls all over the rim and in. Hallebertton’s got 34. He makes it look effortless out there until the defense actually presents a challenge for him. expect those kind of results. And we’ll have a timeout called by Tom Thibido. He’s decided it’s time to clarify the situation, leaving little room for error. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] And some changes here for New York. Towns, he’s checked in for Robinson. And it’s Anobi in for Aua. The Pacers also with a sub. Mather’s checked in. And let’s send it over to Alli the Force. Thanks guys. I was able to hear Tom Tibido coaching his team during that last break. And despite the lead, they are still coaching this team hard. In the huddle, they told their guys to stay alert. Do not give them anything easy. They want to protect this late lead. Da. Okay, thanks Ally. Towns passes to Bridges. Back to Towns and it’s powered home by Towns. Strong flush from Towns. I like whenever he plays with an edge inside. Hallebertton looking over the floor. And it’s Brunson with the rebound. They really have a commanding lead, not just in points, but in rebounds as well. And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Might have been a little forced from Brunson, but he gets in there to get the foul. Shoot. That free throw no good. Well, if you’re a basketball player, through your entire basketball life, you’re going to hear coaches harp on you about free throws. It seems like Brunson has heard those messages loud and [Music] clear. He hits the second from the line. Pacers trail by 12. To the middle. Here’s Matherin. Goes back up. Towns with a rebound. Towns has got nine rebounds now. Down low. Matlin with a [Music] steel up top. Nimhart. Hallebert against Brunson. Left block shot on the way. Hallebertton. Good. Hallebertton’s got 15 points here in the second half. He’s been terrific tonight. And with a little help from the other guys on the floor, they might be able to turn this game around. Town. That’s good. Nice positioning and footwork on point. And Town so smooth down there inside. Nimhard outside. Down it goes. And a great assist by Hallebertton. Hallebertton’s got nine assists now tonight. He just takes advantage of the D in a way that very few players playing today can do. Pass to Brunson outside Anobi. Back to Brunson. Fires the three. Oh, Brunson nails it from deep. Flat out taking the game over. And there’s no way he’s going to give it up. And so it’s Hallebertton with it. He brings it up for Indiana. Trailing by 13 on the take and the rebound goes to the Knicks. Inside here’s Towns and it’s powered home by Towns. People talk about 3 and D with Bridges, but you can pass it too. Pacers trail by 15. Hallebertton the pass to Seakum. Nimart outside just five on the clock. Pass to Turner and it’s good with time running down on the shot clock. You know he’s no stranger to physical play inside at either end. Turners as tough as they come outside. Hart back to Brunson. Towns on a screen. Brunson with it. Hallebertton picks him up. Towns can’t get it to go. Pacers trail by 13 for three. Bathering. That’s off. Five for eight from the floor. And there’s no way this margin gets closed down. Great execution of a game plan and a nice win here for the Knicks. And at first glance, it appeared to be an easy win for him. However, they had to weather some storms along the way, Grant. Yeah, in terms of competitiveness, it was a lot closer than the final score indicates. And this one concludes with their second victory of the year. And having this win on the books might give them a little mental advantage the next two times these squads meet. And one player just stole the show tonight. Doing everything for his team. A monster night for Jaylen Brunson. This was a showcase night of his skills offensively. Towns passes to Hart. Outside Brunson. 35 seconds left in the game. Misses from short range. Here’s Hallebertton. off to Martin. Had a chance there to trim it to single digits. Now the Knicks with it. Pass to Anobi. 16 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter of this one. Hart finds Towns. Played it in with a nice touch off the window. Towns has got 30. And so New York takes this one by a big margin. Even early on in this game, they appeared happy to be playing at home. And it makes a huge difference once they started to get into a groove. You never really felt like they wouldn’t come out on top. And that about wraps it up for Brent Barry, Grant Hill, and Ally Leforce. This is Brian Anderson. Thank you for watching this 2K Sports presentation of the NBA. And we present the player of the game, Jaylen Brunson.
