Gilis Alexander runs things with Dort to his side and it’s Williams at the three spot. Now here’s Holren and there’s Williams. That’s good on the assist by Holren. Oh, nice job there from Homer. His guys appreciate when they’re open. He gets him the ball. Here’s Murray. Murray. And Murray with the second chance points. Oh, how about the deaf touch right there, guys? They just guided that ball back up and in. Just a fingertip touch on the ball. Here’s Homegrren. Pass to Williams. This one for three. It’s rebounded by Jamal Murray. And so it’s Murray who brings the ball up for Denver. Outside Porter. Here’s Brown. There’s a screen by Porter. Five on the clock. Fires for three. Brown’s shot is off. And I thought that was going to fly. It looked good from here. Now here’s Dors. He’s covered closely. Good defense by Joic. The Nuggets have gone one of three from the field to start this one so far. Outside Gordon. Pass to Brown. shoots over Dors. The baseline jumper goes down and this team looking to get him the ball and get him in rhythm quickly. Yeah, it’s a good start for him. Let’s see if they can keep getting him the ball in that area. Now, here’s Gojis Alexander and he banks in the layup and good work inside. SDA will make more room for himself on the perimeter when he can be effective down low. Here’s Murray. Brown the pass to Gordon outside. Porter trains it from beyond the arc. And he likes to get in a rhythm early. Nice triple. And just under two and 1/2 minutes elapsed here in the first. And while we’ve got a moment, let’s send it over to our terrific reporter, David. David. Well, I talked with head coach Mark Dagnel. I asked him what’s the hardest thing about facing Nicole Joic. He said the way he controls the game at the offensive end. He keeps everyone involved. He’s a great scorer and you have to keep him off the offensive glass. It’s a tall order. All of it, guys. Thank you, David. And now a fast break for the Thunder. Moving it up and the dunk by Homegrren. and attacking the rim. Homer making excellent use of that height inside. Timeout is called first of the game for the Nuggets. And coaches looking to seize every advantage, maximize every possession. Well, that’s the job, right? Your duty as a coach is to finesse your lineups so your guys get the best chance to succeed. on defense. Oklahoma City. Oh, and a fast break for Oklahoma City. And it’s Denver with the rebound. Oh, this is exactly the kind of opportunity you don’t want to waste. And the foul called on Jaylen Williams. That is his first foul of the game. And we’re approaching about three and a half minutes played in the first quarter. Here’s Joic deflected by Hartinstein. Dort wide open. Good. Great play by Rollins to set it up. And the three-point shot wasn’t always there for Dort, but he’s put in a ton of work on it and it shows outside. Porter pass to Brown. Here’s Gordon. And the layup’s good off the glass. Really well done there. Just confident and composed. Never in a hurry. Gilg Alexander passes to Homegrren. Screen by Hartinstein. And it’s Gilg Alexander missing. And so it’s Joic with it. He brings it up for Denver. It’s a three-point game. That one drops for him. Yeah, that’s a strong finish there by Gordon. Right through the contact. Here’s Gilgis Alexander following the score by Aaron Gordon. Pass to Homegrren. They swipe it. Bob pass to Gordon and that won’t go. Missing the go-ahead bucket. Thunder have gone five of nine from the field here in the first. Homegrren wide open outside for Gilas Alexander. The money from the wing. Gilis Alexander’s got six. The Nuggets trail by three on the wing. Gordon outside Porter and they’re unable to get the time basket there. Oklahoma City has gone two of five from three-point land here in the first quarter. Homer gets the bucket and looking to get stronger. Home fights through the bump. Tons of time for him to grow into that frame. Time call here. The Nuggets decide to talk it over. Denver making his switch here. Westbrooks checked in. Murray right side. Yic against Hartinstein. kicks it out to Gordon. Five to shoot. Blue Nuggets need to get a shot off here. Here’s Joic. And again, Denver. No good. And I was sure that was money on that one, but everyone is afforded an easy miss or two. Yeah, it was a great look. Sometimes they don’t fall. You’ve just got to keep taking great shots. Finding a little rhythm here that they have to like where they’re at. Yeah, you’re seeing their offense in a flow. Now it’s time for their defense to turn up the heat a little. Now here’s your scoreless thus far and a wide open look for Porter. Burries it from three-point range. But Porter’s got a pair of threes now in the first quarter for the Nuggets. outside Williams. Count the bucket and he’s got a free throw coming up as well. Nice find by Gil Alexander. He reads the floor so well. The Thunder shooting their first free throw of the night here. First personal foul at the line for Williams. The Nuggets trail by seven outside. Porter back to Westbrook. Dort grabs the miss and the Thunder with possession. They’re on a 16-7 run. Homegrren with it and it’s Gordon picking him up. Sinks the triple. Williams has got nine. They’ve wasted no time settling into their offense. Gil Alexander against Murray. A three ball. It’s rebounded by Hartinstein and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. He’s getting his first free throw attempt of the night right now. He’s off on the first. Alex Caruso. He’s checked in for the Thunder. And a switcher also for Denver Watson. He’s checked in for Michael Porter. He doesn’t get the second one. The Nuggets trail by 10. Finds Watson. Murray. A screen on Caruso. Back to Watson. Outside West. Shot clock at five. Yic with a screen on Dort. Here’s Westbrook. Dort knocks it loose. Quite simply, Lou Dort is an elite defender. Plays hard, smart, great wingspan, which we just saw him use there. Here’s Oklahoma City. They’re on a 19-7 run. Pass to Caruso. Dort kicks to Homegrren. A three off the mark. just doing the job on the back to the inside. The kick out to Westbrook and there’s the whistle. 3sec violation. A different look for Oklahoma City. Williams, he’s checked in for Hartinstein. Aaron Wiggins comes in for Jet Homegrren. And it’s Isaiah Joe in for Dort. The Thunder leading by 10. Williams looking around, tries the spin move, pass to Caruso. Wiggins has a screen for Caruso. The Thunder with another miss. And it’s Gordon with the ball. He brings it up for the Denver Nuggets. Right side, Westbrook. Murray against Williams. Down to five on the shot clock. Now, here’s Murray. Beats the shot clock, but can’t get it to fall. Yeah, he hasn’t been at his best this quarter. I’d like to see him be a little more patient right now. Here is Williams. Back to Caruso. Trills the three-pointer and the Thunder lead by 13. They’ve been excellent so far coming in with a well balanced attack. Yeah. Now it’s all about maintaining this lead, but you can’t start playing it safe. You got to keep attacking and executing. Now here’s Murray. Joic with a screen on Caruso. Murray for three. The Thunder pull it in. He just doesn’t look like himself this quarter. Something’s missing. Yeah. And sometimes guys just start pressing. The best thing for him is to just slow it down and concentrate on solid shot selection. And you know what? You allow a guy to get right to the rim like that, that’s your only option. And what do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for Oklahoma City? Well, the thing about hitting early threes, it spaces the floor and makes things a lot easier offensively. And on top of that, they’ve been asserting themselves offensively, getting a good chunk of their points from inside and he makes the first. Well, just a great guy to have in your rotation. Caruso gives you effort, he gives you shooting, and the ball rarely sticks in his hands. He keeps it moving. Here’s what Denver’s going with right now. Jordan’s checked in for Joic and Porter subbed in for Gordon. And so Caruso nails both of them. The Nuggets trail by 15, guys. They’re looking for a way to score here. Yeah, they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off. Murray outside. Just five on the clock. They could use a bucket. That one’s good. Maybe that’ll get him going after a two for six start. What a luxury it is to have Jamal Murray. He just makes plays. Caruso looking for an opening. Pass to Joe. Now here’s Williams. 11 ft away and the shot is long. Now here’s Watson covered by Wiggins. That one good for two. Yeah, another nice bucket down low. They’ve really been able to work the ball into the post effectively here so far. Now here’s Williams. Nine points in the game so far. Pass to Joe. Fires the three. The shot no good. The Nuggets trail by 11. Here’s Murray again. The Nuggets score. Well, Murray can create space off the dribble and he doesn’t hesitate with that pull up on the wing. Williams guarded by Porter. Murray against Caruso. Williams has a screen for Caruso. Trains the three-pointer. Caruso’s got eight points. Defensively, they’ve been a step slow here to start. Murray outside, pulls from the top of the key again. The Nuggets score. The Thunder leading by 10. Sixsec difference between shot and game clock. Here’s Williams. Looks good. Is good. Bucket number four from the field. He’s taken only six shots. Well, his offense is carrying them right now. And even with the defense keying on him, he’s making great adjustments on the fly. Now Murray gets it off and the last second attempt does not go in for him. Combination in the first quarter. It’s been pretty lopsided. Thunder lead by 12. And we return again with more playoff action from the Western Conference semifinals. And for the Thunder here, they’ve been putting on a show, guys, throughout the first quarter. They did a great job of just running the offense. Yeah. And I love to see this kind of communication between teammates. Great player movement, great ball movement. And it’s Westbrook with the ball. He brings it up for the Nuggets. Down by 12. We’ve got Alex Caruso. Aaron Wiggins is out there with Williams. Then there’s Shay Gilis Alexander. And it’s Joe in at the shooting guard position. That’s the group for Oklahoma City getting going here on the second. Well, great energy. Baruso brings it every second. He’s on the floor. He’ll take his third and fourth free throw shots of the game right here. taking. First one falls for and so Caruso nails both of them. The Nuggets trailed by 14. Westbrook surveying the D. Rebound by Williams. Oklahoma City has gone to the three-pointer 11 times tonight. Nailed five of them. Westbrook against Gilis Alexander over Westbrook. Gil just Alexander can’t get it to go. Denver shooting 43% from the field and foul on the shot. So, he’ll get a chance at the line. And one thing about Westbrook, he does not have a quiet presence. You know, he’s out there at every moment and his production speaks volumes. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The free throw drops for Russell West. That one misses. So he goes one for two. The Thunder lead by 13. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. Oh, the officials are all over that one. It’s his first trip to the line. That one is off. And the second free throw. Good. The Nuggets trailed by 14. Westbrook with it. Right side. Jordan. Rebound by Williams. Williams has got four rebounds now tonight. Wiggins kicks to Kilis Alexander. Not loose. Here’s covered by Joe. And there’s the foul. Here we go. And Alex Caruso. That is his first foul of the game. And that’s it’s close, but you know, didn’t get on balance quick enough. Christian Browns checked in for the Nuggets. We’re about a minute and a half into the second quarter now and stolen by Caruso. Here’s Gilis Alexander and Gilis Alexander throws it down and a threelevel score that time SGA takes it all the way. Here’s Joe in Oklahoma City again with the bucket. Another good play. This is how they built the lead. Calling on the right guys at the right time. Yeah, come on. They’re just having their way out there and continuing to press the advantage. The kick out to Porter. That’s good. And so Westbrook comes up with the assist. Porter’s got nine. Well, that’s his game. Porter Jr. is a knockdown shooter off the couch. Gilg Alexander. That’s a two-pointer. And they’ll get another chance. Joe finds Wiggins. Here’s Joe. Just four to shoot. Williams. A screen on West. Second chance shot. Jump shot is good. Gilas Alexander’s got four this quarter. And he had a good look. And Gilas Alexander made it pay off. Time called here. The Nuggets decide to talk it over. Here they come. and we’re now a little over 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second quarter. Pass to Porter and that comes off the assist by Russell Westbrook. Westbrook’s got his third assist on the night. And here is George Alexander. He’s got 10. Williams passes to Joe. Williams looking over the floor. Wiggins sets a screen for Gilas Alexander. Doesn’t go either for Gilg Alexander. I can’t believe he missed that three. Regardless, that’s not a shot the defense should be given. Bombed up there for Westbrook. And I don’t care what his size is, you cannot forget to box him out. He’s just got a nose for the ball and he is fearless in attacking the glass. On the wing, Gilis Alexander. That one doesn’t go, but he’s still shooting 50%. Five of 10. Jordan kicks to Porter, shoots over Caruso. Oh, and that one had the right spin on it and it is good. And they’re passing the ball very crisply here. And Gilas Alexander’s got the ball here for Oklahoma City. They led by as many as 18 points over Westbrook. And that one’s good. Gilis Alexander. Gilas Alexander’s got six in the quarter. Jordan outside. Here’s Porter. And that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. Well, putting some physicality there behind his motion. Porter Jr. attacking the inside. The Nuggets have converted one of two free throws so far today. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. Well, we talk a lot about Porter Jr.’s jump shot, his ability to space the floor, but I like his rebounding as well. catching up on the changes for Oklahoma City. Hartinstein comes in for Williams and it’s Dort in for Isaiah Joe and Denver also making a switch. Murray’s checked in. He’s perfect from the line this time. And they’re getting to the line a lot in this quarter, guys. And it hasn’t been by accident. Now, here’s Gish Alexander. He’s got 12. The shots good. Gilas Alexander’s got 14 points. His strong shooting has really helped them secure this lead. Now Westbrook and they call the foul. So a chance at the line for one more coming up. And the defense should know Westbrook will not back down. and he goes right into the defender and gets a chance for an end one. He’s made one and missed one so far in the game. Find the lane. Find the lanes. Good shot. The free throw drops for Russell Westbrook and didn’t have a single free throw in that first quarter, but he started to play with a little bit more of an edge to his game here in the second. Hardenstein with a screen on Murray from deep. Gil Alexander off target is six miss and 13 attempts from the floor. up top. Porter just Alexander covering Jordan inside. He’s against Wiggins. Pass to Porter. Jacks up a three. It’s rebounded by Hartinstein. Hartinstein’s got four rebounds in this game. It’s Dort on the wing. Here’s Hartinstein. Jordan comes with the double team. Gil Alexander against Courtney. A tan short, but it’s good off the front iron. He’s got 16. And it just seems like the more he touches it, the more the lead grows. Westbrook with it, he has six. shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. That one on Dort. The absolute fearlessness. It’s why we love Westbrook, just getting after it and drawing the contact. And this is his third trip to the line tonight. Take a break. Take a break. Three shots. And that one misses on the Thunder with some changes. Comes in for Aaron Wiggins. And Jaylen Williams is subbed in for Alex Caruso. Denver also making some changes. Jokic. He’s checked in for DeAndre Jordan. And it’s Payton Watson in for Michael Porter. Good on the second free throw. Here’s Williams. 11 points in the game. Driving to the basket. The Thunder have made twothirds of their free throws tonight. Six of nine to be exact. And that one falls for Williams. And both free throws good for Williams. So here’s Westb. He’s got seven. Fires the three. The Thunder pull it in. Hartenstein’s got rebound number five here tonight. Pass to Homer. Connects from three-point range. Homer’s got nine. And with that threat of the outside jumper, a home run generates space for this offense. Murray sets a screen for Westerro. And right away they match it with a three-pointer of their own. And they are absolutely stroking it from beyond the arc. Gilg Alexander passes to Homer. And here is Gilas Alexander. 16 points for him. Good on the three-point shot. And this is the kind of fire Alexander plays with. How about the response there? Watson for three. It’s rebounded by Oklahoma City. Homegrren in the post. Watson’s there. You want a high percentage take offensively, get it to Homer in that spot. Pass to Brown. Watson the screen for three. Nailed from three-point land. Watson’s got his second basket of the night. That’s the kind of D that you’re not going to find success with, guys. They’ve got to get a hand in this. Now, here’s Gojis Alexander. He’s got 19. A three. It’s hauled in by Watson. The Nuggets trail by 15. Here’s Murray up on top. And here’s West from the arc. It’s Chad Homerren with the rebound. Oklahoma City’s gone two for five from three-point land since the end of the first. And contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. Clearly a foul. The Nuggets have missed two free throws in the game, going five for seven. Two shots. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And the first one at the line is good. Alex Caruso, he’s checked in for Gilg Alexander. No good on the second free throw. The Thunder leading by 14. Here’s Homer. It’s hauled in by Watson. The Nuggets have gone seven to 13 from the field since the start of the second. It’s stolen by Hartenstein. Three-pointer hits the three-point pie. Dors got six points. Big make for Dor. That is his bread and butter. Nails the three from the corner. Pass to Watson. Three-pointer. Down it goes. His third basket. He’s now three for four. Matching baskets from the perimeter. An earmark of today’s game. Sometimes you get in a shootout like this, but you just hope that you can get a stop first. And Mark Dagno calls timeout. He wants to talk to his guys. Gordon check in for Denver. Porter comes in for Russell West. And so here is Oklahoma City. They lead by 14. At the elbow Williams kicks to Williams. Six on the shot clock over Porter. And it’s going to be out of bounds. The Thunder will retain possession. Dort left side. Homer sets the screen for Williams. Just five to shoot. Makes the bucket. Now he’s got five field goals. Five for eight in the game. Haven’t we seen that a few times today, guys? I mean, their defense has got to have a little bit more toughness in it. Murray, a screen on Homegrren. Shot by Gordon. Wide open. A three-pointer. No good. And you don’t want to give up that kind of look too often. And it’s out of bounds. Last touch by Gordon. And he jumped out to that ball immediately. Great reaction on that deflection. Yeah. And you know they’re tracking the tips and deflections because that tells you who’s affecting the game. A minute 50 left in the first half of the game. Hartinstein against Joic. Hartinstein passes to Williams. Clock at four. Homegrren with a screen on Porter. Williams can’t hit. Yeah, you expect him to make those. Good look. Just couldn’t find the mark. Porter kicks to Murray. Hartinstein against Joic. Here’s Porter. And the rejection by Homegr. Already set the summer league record for blocks in his first game. Homer, one of the best young shot blockers in the league. And that replay showed just how forceful that block was. And that block was something. It’s the playoffs. Every possession and defensive stop matters. Porter passes to Brown. Some nice ball movement by the Nuggets. Shot clock at five. Murray for three. The Thunder pull it in. Dors got four rebounds in this game. 59 seconds left in the first half. Caruso kicks to Dort. Outside Williams Hardenstein with a screen on port. Williams add basket number six to his stat sheet. He’s now six for 10. He’s creating good looks and shooting very efficiently. outside Gordon. We’ve got 28 seconds left to play here in the second quarter. And again, Denver no good. And that’s the battle they haven’t been winning today. Their work on the glass has been porous and that’s got to change. I mean, the number of points they’ve scored in the paint already here, it is eyeopening. Now Joic still without a basket to end the cold streak and Joic slams it in. Well, he’s a bit of an undersized center. However, his leaping ability can certainly mask that. And so a pretty lopsided game through the first half. Oklahoma City out in front. They lead by 18. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by courtside. Dave, thanks so much Dave for the great interview. Don’t go away, folks. We’ll be back for the second half of basketball right after this execution. These guys know what they want offensively. Their timing is in sync. That’s why by and large they play mistakefree basketball. They just look like the better team. And we’re back courtside at game seven as this series comes to a head. You know, Shay Gildas Alexander has been exceptional here tonight, guys. Yeah, it’s been a great performance from him. Really staying focused on quality shots. Yeah, he’s found his spots, been patient with his shot selection, and it’s paid off for himself and the team. The Nuggets trail by 18. So on the floor for Denver, the forwards are Porter Jr. and Gordon to his side. In at the guard spots, it’s Murray and Brown. And it’s Joic in at the five. Here’s Porter. Good. Porter’s got the first basket of the second half. That one for the Nuggets. Well, that’s why you’ve got to push Porter Jr. further out. Even when well defended, he can still capitalize inside. Homegrren with a screen on court and the dunk by Homegrren. Clearly, he’s one of the best there is in the business when it comes to making that lead pass. Murray outside, launches it. That’s all good. And that’s his fifth basket of the game. He’s shooting five for 11 now. Well, Murray’s a three-level scorer, but arguably does his finest work from that level. Here’s Gilg Alexander, and he drops in the layup off the glass. Gil Alexander’s got 21. Yeah, he’s in such a great rhythm right now. Makes sense to get in the ball any way you can. Yeah, when you have a guy playing like he has been recently, he’s got to be the first option on every possession. Hartstein inside. Yic defending and he gets the whistle for the 3second call. Nuggets trailed by 17. Over a minute and a half into the third quarter of action. Here’s Brown. Joic inside. He’s against Arinstein. It’s a plus five advantage for them in rebounding after that one. Outside Dort Gilis Alexander that’s a two-pointer. It’s held in by Michael Porter. Porter’s got five rebounds tonight. pass to Murray. Fouled on the shot and picks up two points. So, one free throw coming up. That’s Murray just grinding it out and getting rewarded. First trip to the free throw line for him tonight. He throw good Murray. Well, you know, with Murray, not only can he score at all three levels, he’s got great confidence in that championship pedigree as well. Dor with a screen for Williams, makes a fantastic move and nails the shot. Williams has got 19 points and making three of their first four shots in this half is a strong start. Now it’s about growing that momentum. Denver calls timeout. A little over two and a half minutes off the clock in this final half of play. Murray the pass to Gordon. Back to Murray. Joic with a screen on Gilus Alexander. Murray no good. Just a solid performance on the interior. The rebounding has been off the charts. outside. Kiljis Alexander lets it go from 14 and that one drops for him. Kil just Alexander’s got four points this quarter and it’s coming easy for them right now. Five baskets in a row in the paint. Murray kicks to Joic. Pass to Porter. Six to shoot. Back to Joic. Outside for Murray. It’s up a three. Good. And the assist goes to Joic. And Murray’s got 17. The defense is far too slow to close out on those three-point attempts. Porter against Williams. Over Porter. The shot by Williams. No good. And Murray’s got the ball here for the Nuggets. 15-point game. Outside Gordon finds Joic. Here’s Brown. Defended by Gor. This will blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play. Well, he’s been able to find points, just not enough of them. They’ve got to string together some more buckets. And some stats here, guys, the scoring breakdown for Oklahoma City. Well, look, you have to be able to count on energy and effort every night, and they’re showing a lot of it with this transition box. And they’ve also forced a lot of turnovers, capitalizing and turning those turnovers into points. Way to get after free throw. Good. Porter Williams with the ball. He’s got 19. Hartinstein with the screen for Williams. No good on the three. And they had some boxed coverage that turned into no coverage. Here’s Joic. Joic just takes what he wants inside. Amazing. Yeah, I feel like Joic doesn’t even need to see the basket when he gets that close. Outside Dorsch back to Gilus Alexander. No good. Unable to end this run. The Nuggets trail by 10. Brown’s shot is off. Thunder have gone an even 50% from the floor here in the third quarter. Four of eight. Artstein passes to Williams. Homegrren against Joic. Homegrren gets the bucket. Now that’s got to excite Homer’s fans. If he keeps improving his handles, watch out. Denver’s gone two of three when they ventured outside the arc in the third quarter. Gil Alexander against Murray. Pass to Brown. Tied to shoot. And here’s Joic outside. The Thunder pull it in and led the game at 1.520. Here’s Hri good for his eighth field goal. He’s attempted a dozen shots. And once Homer gets the ball in there, he can finish in so many ways outside. Porter act to Murray. Yic with a screen on Gilis Alexander. And again, Denver no good. Oklahoma City leading by 14. And he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. Nearly automatic. Gildas Alexander. No slouch from the line for Oklahoma City. They have shot the ball pretty well from the line. Going eight of 11. Alexander taking two shots. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. No good on the free throw and the Thunder making a switch here. Caruso’s checked in and a switcher also for Denver. Westbrook’s checked in. And he sinks the second. The Nuggets trailed by 15. Murray kicks to Gordon. Back to Murray. It’s rebounded by Oklahoma City. Williams has got six rebounds here tonight. Here’s Hartinstein. Good. Nice job down low. And the Thunder lead by 17. And they’re getting points. They’re getting stops. And this is how they’d like to play all the time. Great example of how to build a lead and then sustain it. You win games on both ends of the floor. Gordon finds Murray and he buries that one. Drilling the rim on the way down. Murray’s got 11 in the second half. Pass to Hartenstein. Now Caruso and he’s good on the three ball. Caruso’s got 13. How many times have we seen a possession like that from them today? Ending with a basket coming off a pretty pass. Porter kicks to Murray. Plays it up and banks it in. Murray’s got 13 points in just this quarter. Well, that’s just a terrific move. Murray so skilled at creating space off the dribble. Releases Caruso no good. And that’s one he wants back. Just wide open but not able to connect that time. Westbrook against Dort. Westbrook dishes to Gordon. Outside. Rebound by Williams. Williams has got seven rebounds in the game. Caruso with the ball and it’s Gordon picking him up. A nice shot by Hartinstein. Oh, great ball movement there. And so it’s Murray with it. He brings it up for Denver. They trail by 18. Porter finds Murray. Back to Porter. And the officials will call the illegal screen right there. And not the most common call you’ll see in the NBA, but hard to argue that pick wasn’t illegal. Yeah. And that’s maybe something that should be called more. We see a lot of moving screens in today’s NBA. Williams, he’s checked in for the thunder. Aaron Wiggins comes in for Shay Gilis Alexander. Porter against Williams. Pass to Caruso. Poked away. Porter with the steel. And the Nuggets pushing it up now. Here’s Gordon. Doesn’t go for him. Nice defense from Dors. The Thunder leading by 18. And here is Caruso. Wiggins with it. Outside. Williams. Wiggins. That’s a screen for Williams. Pocket six. That balls. Nice feed that time from Wiggins. Williams has got five points now in the quarter. The Nuggets trailed by 21. Westbrook kicks to Murray. Gordon with the screen for Murray. Porter in the corner. Taken away by Williams. Pass to Caruso. Williams against Westbrook. Williams, that’s good. Williams has got 24 points. And not quite as aggressive from outside as they were in the first half. Sticking to the high percentage shots, playing smart with the lead. There’s Gordon with the three. Drills it from outside. Well, confidence isn’t something that Gordon is lacking. He thinks his shot is there, so he just takes it. Porter against Williams. There’s 117 left here in the third quarter. A beautiful reversal. Williams has got nine points now in just the second half. Another bucket down low. They’ve been the aggressors taking the ball inside and attacking at the rim. And Westbrook throws it down hard. How about the anticipation there from Westbrook? sees the play develop and gets in perfect position for the catch and then of course those hops. Higgins outside stolen by Westbrook on the Wayne Murray. Fast break. Here we go. Ahead. Here’s Williams. Back to Dort. Caruso against Murray. Caruso. No good. The Nuggets trail by 20. There’s a 4second difference from the shot clock to the game clock. And Joic throws it down. Well, it’s not what he’s known for, but Jokic can throw it down when the chance presents itself. And here is George. Eight points for him. Wiggins. A screen on West. And what a night he’s having on the glass putting in the work to help his team close out possessions. And so it’s Oklahoma City holding a big 18-point lead. And now let’s go back to a play from earlier as we show you our State Farm assist of the game. And he’s always been the favorite to bag this honor. These kind of feeds are his bread and butter. Well, he’s a consmate floor general, surveying the defense and delivering the pass on time and on target. And we reach the fourth quarter in a game that may be already out of hand. They’ve got Wiggins. Isaiah Joe is out there with Gilis Alexander and it’s Alex Caruso and it’s Williams at the center locking down the middle. It’s the lineup in the game for Oklahoma City. And so difficult to defend when Russ is hurting you off the bounce. He’s hurting you off the catch. Now Joe pass to Gilis Alexander. Here’s Joe. Now Caruso. Fast break. Here they come. And finished off by Westbrook. And there’s the ferociousness. Got to enjoy Westbrook taking flight and slamming it down there with authority. And the foul called on Russell Westbrook. And that’ll be his third foul so far. Fourth quarter of basketball. We’re about a minute into it. Wiggins a screen on Murray. Gil just Alexander passes to Wiggins. Alexander is so dangerous in these pick and rolls to the paint. Williams with the steal. Pass to Gilg Alexander. Russell Westbrook with the rebound. The Nuggets trail by 15. It’s Jordan on the wing. Here’s Brown. And he gets the basket. Officials blowing the whistle. So, a chance at the line for one more. Yeah, after a slow start to the game, he’s been productive and efficient here in the second half. A free throw off from Weston. The Thunder leading by 13. Now here’s Caruso. Here’s Gilgis Alexander goes back up. Pass to Joe. His three-pointer is off the mark and towards Murray who brings the ball up for the Denver Nuggets. A great fourth quarter just giving up two points. Now this this is more like it. Nine points for him from three-point range this half. That’s nine more than he had in the first. Wiggins finds Joe the Thunder with another miss. Well, with his team leading, he might just want to put that one in his pocket next time. And with that, the Thunder lead is cut down now to just seven on the bucket from Westbrook. And this offensive explosion has narrowed the gap. Julius Alexander surveying the deep missed inside. in the second half. It seems like they’ve given him the green light. Might want to repeat that. And here’s West from the arc. And again, Denver with the triple. Yeah, this looks like a pregame shoot around with all the threes they’re allowing. And Mark Dagno calls timeout. Clearly, he’s got something his players need to hear. And immediately to he’s checked in for Oklahoma City. And now we’ve got some time to check in from the sideline. you got for us DA? During that last break, coach Mark Dagno talked to his team. He said to them, “Keep building this lead, guys. Don’t take your foot off the gas. Keep working hard. Run our stuff, guys.” Thanks, David. The Thunder leading by four. Outside, Williams pass to Dort and the foul called on Russell Westbrook. That will get him his fourth foul of the game. And that’s his fourth. Getting into the danger area now. He’s going to have to be a little more cautious down the stretch. Dort against Westbrook. And just miss after miss right now. The Nuggets trail by four. Murray outside left side. Westbrook in the bounce pass. Five on the clock. Teardrop shot and Murray finishes it off. Murray’s got 26 points. Yeah, this offense is rolling. They’ve been assertive, but they’re also playing under control. Yeah. You know, I like how they’re not relying on just one guy to get it done. They’re sharing the ball and keeping the defense guessing. And they needed that. Their lead is getting smaller by the pass to Watson. Right wing the pass to Watson outside West. Another three for Denver. And they’re getting their points now almost exclusively from the triple. Four of their last five makes are from beyond the arc. And the foul called on Russell Westbrook. That’s his fifth foul. And now only one away from being in the penalty. And the Nuggets with some changes. Joic has checked in for DeAndre Jordan. Aaron Gordon comes in for Payton Watson. And it’s Michael Porter in for Jamal. Here’s Williams. Here’s Gilas Alexander. Good. Great play by Williams to set it up. He’s got 26. And the fourth quarter just has not been kind. Only one bucket in five attempts. Pass to Joic. Up there for Westbrook. Great communication on the alley. And you have to love how hard Westbrook goes. It’s what allows him to take over games like this. outside Gilgis Alexander. Here’s Dor. A three-pointer off the mark. Nuggets trail. Here’s Brown. And no good. Had a chance to take the lead there. Oklahoma City has gone ice cold from three-point land. 04 since the start of the final quarter. And Gilgus Alexander understands how to draw contact, especially when he’s looking to score. Shu. Reverse free throw is good. Martinstein’s checked in for the Thunder. Jaylen Williams comes in for Aaron Wiggins. And Denver with a change here, too. Swather’s checked in. I just Alexander hits them both. Well, he might have been a little passive in the first half, but that’s changed. I like this more aggressive outside. Gordon pass to Strawther. Thunder outside. Thunder with the rebound. Williams has got rebound number eight here tonight in the game. Well, three triples in the first half, but he seems to have gone cold from distance since the break. He had a defender all over Denver making a switch here. Pickicket’s checked in. Shooting two shots. And that one falls for Williams. Heat. Heat. And both free throws good for Williams. Yeah, good job bringing that free throw percentage up here in the second half. Doing a great job at the line outside Gordon. Denver passing it around. Here’s Porter and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. That one on Williams. Smart play there by Porter Jr. using the pump fake to draw the defense in and earn the call. He misses the free throw. Payton, he’s checked in for Denver. And he’s good on the second. Listen, they’re still right in this thing. Missing that free throw though keeps this a two-p possession deficit. Gildas Alexander passes to Hart and shot. Back to Gildas Alexander. And again, no good by Oklahoma City. Yeah, I’m not sure if he’s going to be able to shoot his way out of this one or not. It is good. And there’s just so much athleticism to Gordon’s game. Good luck trying to contain him inside. outside Gilgish Alexander and the rebound paying off as they pick up two on the second chance bucket right there. Yeah, just two of eight here in the fourth quarter from the field. Just struggling with the game in the back. Pass to Straw now Watson. Here’s Crawler. Watson finds Porter. Just five on the clock. Count the basket and the foul. That one on George. Yeah. And look at the composure of Porter Jr. there to fight through the contact and get the and one opportunity. He’s checked in for Alex Caruso. The Thunder with the lead. Gilas Alexander with it. There’s the lob to Dort. to the wing on the left. Brown. The pass to Porter to take the lead. It’s rebounded by Oklahoma City. Earlier they held a 23-point lead. More good work on the glass there. When it’s all said and done, I think rebounding might tell the story in this game. Outside Gilg Alexander over Porter that one wide left. They’ve got the opportunity to get the lead back and they’ve been waiting for this chance all game long. Back to Murray. Joic with a screen on Williams. Here is Murray. The Nuggets with another miss. Oklahoma City shooting 52% from the floor. Nice work so far from them. I tell you what, he earned his money on that foul. Stein taking two shots. Shooting to it and the first one drops. Yeah. And their free throw shooting has really improved here in the second half. And so Hardenstein nails both of them. And as a team, they’re hovering around the high 80s from the free throw line. They’ve gotten better as the game has gone along, which is exactly what you want to see. Joic with the screen on Jordan. Brown gets deflected and he gets it back. No stopping him there. Jams it in as he’s fouled. Chance now for a three-point play. That one on Dort. That one drops. He ties it up. Well, you know, a great thing about Joic is the cohesion he brings to the team. His ball movement and teamwork are contagious. Williams kicks to Dors the pass to Hart and shot on the wing. Gilis Alexander hits it from three-point lane. Gilis Alexander’s got 14 points here in the second half. This is why SCA is a focal point of his offense because of that ability to score. Outside Porter over Williams never goes and the Oklahoma City lead is cut to just one. Basket from Porter. They should continue to get the ball inside. The defense struggling to contain them. Murray against Gilis Alexander. Count it. And he’ll have a chance for a three-point play. It’s going to be on Jamal Murray. Well, he’s been nothing short of fantastic this game. And he has his team in a great spot as this thing winds down. That’s good from Gilas Alexander. The Nuggets trail by four. Murray looking around and that’ll be open on the city’s ball as it goes out of bounds. And here’s Gilgis Alexander. He’ll bring it up for the Oklahoma City Thunder. outside Dort. Gilis Alexander against Murray and it’s Gilis Alexander missing. He’ll get high post on Homer and it’s Gordon finishing it off. Really a grizzled veteran at this point. Gordon’s a guy who’s been in these spots. Outside Williams back to Gilus Alexander. Hardenstein with a screen on Hur. The kick out for Williams. The shot’s good. Gil Alexander making the play. Gil Alexander’s got five assists in the game. Alexander against Mur. Here’s Yic. And two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the contact. Well, what else can you do against Joic but get as physical as possible defensively? Third on the first and that shrinks the margin to just four and drops them both. Well, that’s what you expect from him in this situation. 136 left to play in the final quarter. Here’s Gilis Alexander scores after the quick crossover. Gil Alexander’s got 38 points. And here is Murray 14 ft away. It’s good. And the Thunder lead is cut to just three points on the basket from Joic. Sometimes you just have to admire the greatness of Joic. No doubt when it matters most. Here’s Gilis Alexander and it’s Denver with the rebound. The fall awayping the degree of difficulty. You wonder if perhaps they could have gotten a better look. That is world class. Yeah. And I can say from experience, his coach just breathed a huge sigh of relief. And he tries in the shot. No good. Good defense by Joic. Here’s Gordon. Count it. Coming up big for his squad. Gordon doesn’t back down from the big moment. And Mark Dagno calls timeout. Pivotal moment in this game. He’s not taking any chances. He’ll call time. There’s 42 seconds left in the game. Williams passes to Gilas Alexander. It’s in. And what a shot from Gillis Alexander. This guy isn’t afraid of the moment. Wow. Timeout called Nuggets. Guys, what’s your take on how they maximize their opportunities now? Yeah, and looking at how much time they have, I think it’s likely we’ll see them try to get a good look and score quickly. Murray with the bounce pass. Here’s Yic. And he can’t bank that one in. And now we’ve got the intentional foul. First free throw is good and that will put them up by two. So, he gets them both and it’s a three-point game. How about the nerves there? Those free throws put them in a very good position. Three points clear. Timeout called. Nuggets. 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one. To the middle shoots from the right block. It’s rebounded by Herenstein. They foul intentionally. That’s what they have to do at this point. Had to foul him on that occasion to stop the clock. That’s the enemy in this situation. So, the first one drops and that gives them a four-point cushion and he hits both free throws here. So, now it’s a five-point game. No doubt that just about seals it. Pass to Brown. Here’s the drive. Stolen by Dort. And so they choose to intentionally foul. You have to foul, but I’m sure they would have liked to foul someone different. He doesn’t hit the first and that was the one they really wanted. He’s got one more though. That’s good. Going one or two from the line and that increases their lead to six. Murray from deep three-point territory. off on that one. And so the Oklahoma City Thunder take the series and Bill continue. They took the long road to get here, but they’ve done it. They’re moving on to the conference finals.
