Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder Full Game 7 – May 18, 2025 | NBA 2K25 Playoffs
and Brent Barry. David Aldrich will join us momentarily from the sidelines. Short a rotation play. Nothing that they can’t overcome, but it does shrink their margin for error just a bit. Compensating for the absence of a key player can be difficult, but they’ve got to hold strong. Now, let’s take a look at Denver’s opening lineup. Sharing the wing spots, it’ll be Brown and Porter Jr. The four and the five. It’s Gordon and Joic. And it’s Murray in at the point. And for Oklahoma City, the four and the five, the lengthy pair of Homer and Harden Alexander runs things with court to his side. And it’s Williams at the small four. And so it’s the Thunder getting on the board first. Here’s Brown. Joic with a screen on Gilas Alexander. Just five on the clock. Brown. The pass to Yic over in the corner. Dor off target from outside and so it’s Joic with the ball. He brings it up for the Denver [Applause] Nuggets. Outside Porter back to Joic. Kicks it out to Gordon. He’s up a three. It’s rebounded by Hortonstein. Here’s Oklahoma City. Here’s Williams and they call the foul. So, he’s got the and one chance here to make it a three-point play. And Jaylen Williams had a plan there to outwork the defense. He knows you got to bring it to the paint. And he’s got his first chance at the line here. [Applause] [Applause] on the free throw. No good. There’s a lot of things that they love about Jaylen Williams, but his polished allaround game is something appreciated. He can fill the roles and fill the holes for whatever they need to do. And so it looks like Denver will retain possession here. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David, thanks. Mark Dagnel and I got a chance to talk for a bit. He thinks they need to focus on speeding up Nicole Joic rather than trying to slow him down. Coach said Joic dominates the game at his own pace. So we need to put more pressure on him and not allow him to play so patiently. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Back to you, Kevin. Okay, David. And that’s the kind of in-your-face defense that’s setting the tone for SGA and the rest of this team. Just over a minute and a half played here in this one. Again, Oklahoma City. And he’s not going to miss many of those, especially that wide open. No, he’s automatic from the mid-range. And the defense knows that it’s a mistake to give up a shot like that. And the foul called on Jaylen Williams. That’s his first [Applause] foul. Porter kicks to Gordon. Pass to Brown. Murray for three. The shot goes in. First shot, first basket. And Murray the kind of player that’s earned the trust of his teammates to take that kind of shot. Gilgis Alexander looking around that one. No good. Good defense by Joic to the paint and Yic slings it in. Oh, Joic attacking the rim and brings it down hard. The Thunder with the lead. [Applause] Gildas Alexander passes to Hartinstein. And here is Dort. Pass to Homer. Dort with the ball. Five on the [Applause] clock. Here’s Gilgis Alexander. Got it. Good job in the low post. Gorgeous Alexander. Fantastic concentration. The Nuggets trail by three. Now Murray Gordon trying to break loose. Murray no good. Thunder have gotten four of six field goal attempts to drop in the first quarter. Can’t hit. Nuggets have gone two of six from the field. [Applause] Murray against Dort. Murray kicks to Gordon. [Applause] Murray outside. Six on the shot clock. A pass to Gordon. It’s stolen by Horton Shine and the Thunder pushing it up now. Here’s Homer. A good finish at the rack off the slick feet and looking to get stronger. Homer fights through the bump. Tons of time for him to grow into that frame. Finds Porter. Here’s Brown. kicks it out to Gordon. Yic sets the screen for Gordon. Off target with his three and I think that one could have easily have fallen for him. Over in the corner, Williams off the mark there with the three-point shot. Well, even though he misses that one, the defense has got to talk about that. That’s a bad miscue and you can’t give up looks like that all game long. Now here’s Murray. Pass to Joic. Here’s Brown. Joic a screen. Good work there as it goes. That play never gets old. The pick and roll will still be an offensive staple 100 years from now. Trust me. And Mark Dagno calls timeout. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan [Applause] clearly. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Homegrren with it now guarded by Porter. Pass to Hartenstein. to the left side wing. Gordon against Homegrren. Four on the clock. Over Gordon and again no good by Oklahoma City. Well, he’s a guy they count on to produce from the mid-range. Doesn’t miss too many open looks from him. Murray the pass to Brown. Back to Murray. And here’s the try. I like that penetration there. Murray getting to the cup with great quickness. And what do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for the Thunder? I I like how they’ve worked the ball inside, getting much closer in there, and that really helps your offense, too. So much good energy and flow tonight and that has really come out of great ball movement. Guys have been open and as soon as they are they get the ball throw good Murray Jamal Murray at his side is the one impressive thing that stands out to me is that he will willingly go right at the defense. [Applause] [Applause] Enzo Murray nails both of them. And that’s another area where he is just a superb player. Excellent at the free throw line. Pass to Homer. [Applause] Martin in the high post. Williams finds Gildis [Applause] Alexander and it’s Denver with the rebound. Joic has got four rebounds in this game and a wide open look for Porter. Good. And the assist goes to Joic. And you really want to step up and try to make Porter make a move right there. The three ball look easy. Outside Williams. And they wasted no time getting those three points back. Williams has got five now. Nice answer back there. Love to see the competitor. Yeah, both teams finding ways to the three-point line and trying to take advantage from distance. Yes, that goes in. And I like that for Murray. Not an extra dribble. Get the ball to the open teammate right away. Gilas Alexander kicks to Homegrren. [Applause] Back to Gilas Alexander. fades and shoots and that one good. Gilg Alexander’s got his third basket of the night right there. Man, he’s got that touch working tonight. Shooting the ball very well to start this one. To the middle. Here’s Brown. Fouled in the active shooting. Gets the bucket anyway. So, a three-point play chance for him. And there’s a pattern starting to take shape here. They’re working it inside and getting good shots from close range. catching up on the changes for Oklahoma City. Williams, he’s checked in for Hartinstein. Aaron Wiggins comes in for Homer. Jason Wallace, he’s checked in for Dort. And it’s Alex Caruso in for Gilas Alexander. And Mark Dagno calls timeout here. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Here’s Caruso. [Applause] To the inside. Yeah, good job to take it right at the deep. And let’s take a moment, guys, to get your take on the scoring so far for the Nuggets. How about the ball movement so far? I mean, the unselfishness, everyone here just playing for one another, and that can be infectious. Well, a lot of the players are doing a good job as well of scanning the interior part of the paint. All those inside looks, those are paying off. First free throw is good. [Music] and Williams drops them both. And so Westbrook will bring it up for Denver. They came out on top in their last match on Wednesday. Yeah, in that game I thought they took advantage of some sloppy play, but give them credit. They turn mistakes into points. Yeah, the last game it felt like they were just feeding off of what they were doing defensively, forcing a lot of those turnovers and that helps build your defensive confidence. It’s good. So far, both teams spur hits. You got to love it. Yeah, made for TV game here. Pace is great. Scoring is coming in bunches and both of the teams feeling confident right now. Here’s Westbrook following the score by Oklahoma City. They’ve been beating them to a lot of those loose balls and rebounds here to start. Here’s Wallace and two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the content. The Thunder have made two of their previous three free throws in today’s game. [Applause] [Applause] First one falls for heat. [Applause] Oh, hits two free throws. Nuggets [Applause] trail. Westbrook with it. No scoring in this one. Pass to Strawther. Poked away. He’s all alone. Here’s Caruso. Flushes it down to finish the break. Well, if you don’t take care of the ball, fellas, that’s what can happen. Absolutely, Greg. That makes the turnover even more painful and the gamble paying off. Here’s Westbrook under pulling in. Yeah, my expectations were that he was not going to miss that. He handles that kind of defense, especially on the inside. Wallace looking for an opening and he gets the whistle for the 3second call. Isaiah Joe, he’s checked in for Jaylen Williams. The Nuggets trail by three. Now here’s Westbrook to the left wing. Pass to Strawther. Shot clock at six. They get a hand on it. Wiggins outside. This one for three. Good for the basket. Starting off one for one with that shot. And their offense already in a flow. some stellar shooting to jump out to this lead outside West and that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. This is where you watch Russell and how aggressive he plays. Such a physical guard. Denver shooting their fourth and fifth shots at the foul line in the game. [Applause] that free throw missing. And when Westbrook comes into a game, he really provides a jolt of energy. He’s really embraced that role and it’s infectious for the rest of the team. [Applause] That one misses. And for Westbrook, we talk about playing with a controlled intensity. And when he does that, he’s unstoppable. And they pick up two. And now you see them starting to really work the ball inside. Timeout is called. First of the game for the Nuggets. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. And it’s Westbrook with the ball. He brings it up for the Nuggets. Eight-point game. Outside [Applause] Gordon. Pass to Brown and stolen by Caruso. All is up on top. Here’s Joe. Some nice passing by Oklahoma City here. Here’s Wiggins and he can’t extend the lead to double digits. And that was almost a block. Still getting enough to alter the shot. Yeah, altering the shot. So as long as there’s a miss, that kind of energy not wasted. Now here’s Westbrook. He has yet to score. Time to shoot over Williams. And another miss by Denver. The Thunder leading by eight. [Applause] And here is Caruso. Wiggins outside. There’s the triple. And Brown pulls it down. Brown’s got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Pass to Westbrook. Down low. Faded on the way. A nice shot by Brown. Browns got 12 points in the game and he’s clearly led the way offensively. The question is, can they ride him and get back into it? Wiggins sets a screen for Caruso from outside off the mark. Rare you’ll see him miss such an open look. And then Gordon with the dunk. Oh, Aaron Gordon just simply one of the best dunkers of his generation. Now here’s Caruso. He’s covered closely. That’s all you. Joe passes to Williams. Come get it. Come get it. Caruso sets the screen for Wallace. Oklahoma City needs to get off a shot. Williams for three. Westbrook pulls it in. Pass to Brown. [Music] [Applause] and he banks in the layup. Now just a two-point Oklahoma City lead. Now what a great option he gives them on every possession. At the end of one a closely contested game so far. Thunder out in front. They lead by two. And the second quarter will be on the way when we come back. [Applause] And we return again with more playoff action from the Western Conference semifinals. And when you consider how the Thunder are doing, guys, what do you think? Well, look at the turnover ratio, then look at the score. Easy to see what happened in that first period. Yeah. Hopefully the opposition can recover cuz that first quarter defensively was unbelievable. Just crippling defense. [Applause] The four and the five. The lengthy pair of Homegrren and Hartenstein. Jason Wallace is out there with Gilgis Alexander and it’s Williams at the three. That’s the lineup in the game for Oklahoma City. Good job, Aaron Gordon. is such a force in the lane. Outside, Gilg Alexander from downtown. That’s good from Williams on the assist from Gilas Alexander. Williams has got 10 points. That’s one of the best three-point shooters. You got to try to scramble the Jets right here and get that guy off the sweet spot. Gordon inside all Gordon with a screen on Homegrren. Strawther no good. Now the defense better tighten up on the mid-range there. Much much tighter. You expect him to make every single one of those. And they had some botched coverage that turned into no coverage. Launches a three. Sinks the three-pointer. Strawther who’s got his first bucket of the game and he’s on the board for three. And nice to see Michael Porter Jr. making the decision to share some of the offensive load and not force it. Gilis Alexander. That’s a two-pointer. It’s hauled in by the Nuggets. We’re closing in on two minutes played here in the second quarter. Pass to Strawther and taken away by Wallace. And now here’s Gilis Alexander. the fast break chance. Gilgus Alexander positioning himself well and knew exactly where to get to in the open space. [Applause] Murray against Gilas [Applause] Alexander. Murray outside. Here’s Joic shooting foul. As the whistle blows, he’ll shoot two free throws. The Nuggets shooting their sixth and seventh free throws in the game. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. Joic gives you such a great foundation out there. He stays so levelheaded. That’s the kind of leader that this team has been feeding off of. Dort, he’s checked in for the Thunder. [Applause] That misses. So he splits the free throws. Feel like Joic could play with a baton out there because he’s orchestrating Gilg Alexander against Yic. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. Way to attack there and then create the contact. It’s his first trip to the line. [Applause] and he knocks down the first one. And the growth that Sheay has shown over the years, it has come on so fast with how he has improved, but he’s adding to his game. [Applause] And he can’t hit the second and money from the stripe. SGA could close his eyes down. Pass to Gordon and then Gordon with the dunk. One of the better dunkers we have in the NBA, Aaron Gordon. Showtime. And here’s Gilgis Alexander. He’ll bring it up for Oklahoma City. Williams against Porter. Homegrren with a screen on Porter. Fires the three and Homegrren the bucket on the assist by Williams. Homegrren’s got five now. And with that threat of the outside jumper, Homer generates space for this offense. Time call here. The Nuggets decide to talk it over. Yeah, you can’t make any excuses right now for them giving the ball up as much as they have in this one. Hopefully they can get on the same page during this [Applause] [Applause] timeout. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] on the wing. Porter. He’s guarded by Williams. Pass to Joic. Joic doing a better job as the years have gone on, just drawing more contact and getting to the line. And that’s a good thing. He’s an over 80% shooter there. And this is his second trip to the line tonight. [Applause] Take two shot. [Applause] And he makes the [Applause] first and he makes both free throws. [Applause] Oklahoma City has gone two or three when they’ve stepped beyond the arc in the second quarter. Here’s Gilgis Alexander gets it to drop and now he’s shooting at a five for eight clip. You have a guard like Gilas Alexander that fights inside. It can add some spunk to your team. outside Porter. Just under three and a half minutes play here in the second quarter. Milk inside Alexander cover as a big once you get position inside. It allows you to fight and come away with a lot of tough boards. And there it is for him. I’m encouraged watching home room finish through contact because it’s something he’s going to have to do consistently. Murray the pass to Joic. Now Porter Joic inside he’s against Hartenstein and he hits it and gets hacked on the play. A three-point possibility if he can convert the free throw. Well, you have to think if Joic is that good a passer, his mind is always working. Why not work it to get contact like that? The Nuggets have shot 67% from the line going six of nine. And the Thunder making a switch here. Williams has checked in. What’s up? [Applause] Free throw good. Jokic. Well, his body control is phenomenal and his ability to get to the line has always been impressive. That’s a huge part of his game. Now, here’s Gas Alexander. 11 points in the game. Basket is good. He’ll get a chance for one more at the line. They’re getting on a roll inside. Their last three field goals have come from the paint. He’s made one and missed one so far in the game. [Music] That’s good from Gilas Alexander. The Nuggets trail by five outside Porter. Pass to [Applause] Straw. Murray against Court. Shot clock at five. They’re outside. Offensive rebound in the corner. It’s Gordon and it’s out of bounds and last touch by Homegrren. Great energy on the deflection and a good job disrupting their offense. Yeah, I appreciate the work right now on the defensive end. Here’s Murray. He has five. And Homer pulls it down. Outside Gilis Alexander. Yic grabs the miss. Joic has got six rebounds now in the game. Here’s Strawther. He’s guarded by [Applause] Williams. Pass to Strawther. The Nuggets moving the ball around. It’s stolen by Gil Xiaawander. Get away. Here’s Williams and it’s out of bounds. Oklahoma City able to retain possession. Here’s Gilis Alexander. 14 points for him. pass to Dort and a great assist by Kilis Alexander as that one goes in. Kilus Alexander’s got five assists [Applause] tonight. Dort against [Applause] M. Williams with the block. Homer the pass to Gilas Alexander with the teardrop. It’s hauled in by the Nuggets. Jokic has got his seventh rebound here tonight. Pass to Gordon and it’s Gordon finishing it off. And maybe that’ll trigger them. Impossible not to get pumped up after that. Yeah. Well, you can see the immediate reaction of the guys in the bench. They are pumped up. Now here’s Dors fires the three and it’s Jokic with the rebound. Joic has got his eighth rebound here tonight. Inside Gordon the second effort and it’s good on the way in. Gordon’s got eight here in the quarter. Shooting it with more confidence now. Look at his face. He didn’t look quite right in the opening minutes. Finding it now. and Homegrren the bucket on the assist from Gilg Alexander and the Thunder lead by five. Denver calls [Applause] [Music] timeout. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Alex Caruso. He’s checked in for the Thunder. The Nuggets making a switch [Applause] [Applause] here. And here’s Westbrook. He’ll bring it up for the Nuggets. Trailing by five. [Applause] Pass to Watson. Back to Westbrook. Takes the three and out of bounds as the Thunder gain possession. A different look for Oklahoma City. Aaron Wiggins comes in for Williams and it’s Isaiah Joe in for [Applause] Williams. The Thunder leading by five. [Applause] Here’s Caruso. Here’s the screen to the inside. Dort kicks to Wiggins. Here’s Caruso. Rebound by the Nuggets. And got to like what they’ve been doing down low in the post. Outside West and another miss by Denver. Well, he wants to shoot his way out of this coal spill, but the struggles continue. Yeah, he’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here and and try to find a way to get on the board. Now, here’s Caruso and it goes down two points. Caruso’s got six points. You can’t just stop when there’s a pick setup. Got to fight over it as a defender. That’s one that the coaches will watch tomorrow with that player. You hate to see him give up in that situation. And it’s Wiggins missing. He’ll have a hard time shaking that one off. Perfect position, plenty of space. Just clanked it and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. There’s sometimes games where Westbrook takes personal challenges at the big guys. The Nuggets have made seven free throws and missed three in this game. Break. Big break. Two shots. [Applause] First free throw is good. [Applause] [Applause] Both free throws good from Westbrook. Oklahoma City leading by five. Now Caruso, he has six. To the middle. Here’s Homegr. and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. It’s going to be on Joic. And you know, teams are going to be physical with longer, but he’s aggressive and boy, he plays with passion. [Applause] And the first one drops. One of the most unique players that we’ve seen. Homegrren part of this new crop of sevenfooters with skill. Combines rare length and a great ability. And when you add his feel for the game, it could make him special. Kase Wallace, he’s checked in for Dor. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. I mean, you’d be super fortunate to see one unicorn in your lifetime. In the NBA, it seems like we’re seeing more. And Chad is a special talent. Now here’s Joic. Eight points for him. He lobbs it up and he jams it with authority. My goodness, he is such a great dunker. Greg, a high riser. No doubt about it. Oklahoma City leading by five. Caruso looking for an opening. The Thunder with another miss for Denver. They’ve gone seven of 15 from the field here in the second quarter. Just under 50% shooting. Homegrren. The pass to Caruso. [Applause] Down to five on the shot clock. They set the screen. Wallace misses. The Nuggets trail by five. Watson dishes to [Applause] Westbrook. Homer against [Applause] Joic. And the rejection by Homegrren. already set the summer league record for blocks in his first game. Homer, one of the best young shot blockers in the league, changing ends quickly. He’s rewarded with a high percentage look. Yeah, the defense trying to do their best to slow him down, but when he gets room like that, you got to look out. He’s gone two for two at the line so far. [Music] Free throw good. Wallace Westbrook will bring it up for the Nugget. Eight-point game. And Westbrook scoring, it comes in bunches, but such a key to it all was for him to get himself to the free throw line. He’s top 40 all time in free throw attempts. And this is his third trip to the line tonight. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. [Applause] No good on the second. So he hits one of two. The Thunder leading by seven. Here’s Wallace. Hands it from downtown. Wallace has got six points in the quarter. Bringing that three-point percentage up quite a bit this quarter. shooting it. Well, the lead’s going to get a little bit bigger if they can keep this up. Oh, here’s Murray. He’s got five. There’s a minute 40 left to play here in the second quarter. Back at six. Joic against Homer. Joic with the bucket. Joic has got 10 points in the game. Not going to intimidate Joic at that range. his focus tonight. Razor sharp pass to [Applause] Caruso. Homegr against Joic. A drive by Homegrren. Somehow ignores the tight D and gets the layup. Homegrown’s got the lead up to 10 now for Oklahoma City. Westbrook passes to [Applause] Yic. Here’s Bryant. 16 points for [Applause] him. Outside Westbrook. That’s his first basket of the game. One for six and looking for more. Well, this is Westbrook just being an ultra competitor. He gets in there and the defense has nothing to do. Wallace dishes to Homegrren. Pass to Joe. Back to Homegrren. Good defense by Joic. The defense ready for him on that possession. They had to be cuz he is so strong in the paint over Joe. It’s rebounded by Oklahoma City. No doubt it’s been a bit of a struggle for him here in this quarter in terms of scoring. Wiggins kicks to Homegrren. [Applause] And that does it for the first half of play. Thunder lead by eight. And we’ll be back with you right after this. [Applause] And it’s the 2K halftime show, game seven. And the story so far is the quality start for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They’re doing a nice job of getting their feet wet in the paint. I like the aggression, powering it up and sending it down. Hey, if you can get the ball in close, why settle? Invite the defense to stop it. And looking at where the Thunder stand in the series, it all comes down to a decisive game seven, guys. What’s it going to take for them to close out this series? You can’t leave anything in the tank. Approach it like you’re playing for your life because in some ways you are. And you can’t get sloppy and waste a bunch of possessions. You got to keep that focus. No question. Let’s get it. Thanks for joining us. Now, let’s toss it to Kevin Harland for the start of the second [Applause] half. And we’re back courtside at game seven as this series comes to a head. [Applause] The Nuggets trail by eight. Taking a look at the Nuggets. The forwards are Porter Jr. and Gordon to his side. In at the guard spots, it’s Murray and Brown. And it’s Joic in at the pivot spot, manning the middle. Good luck inside against Joic. One of the most dominant players in the game right now. Outside, Gilg Alexander. a special move before the shot. Gilg Alexander’s got 16 points and obviously his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight. Yeah, the coach pretty smart for zoning in on him and giving him opportunities to stay with that confident play. And that’s a foul called on Shay Gilas Alexander. That’ll be his second foul of the game. [Applause] Murray finds Porter. Now Joic. He’s defended by Hartinstein. Let’s go. Joic. No good. Oklahoma City leading by eight. Homegrren with it. Out guarded by Murray. And out of bounds as the Nuggets gain possession. [Applause] About one minute played here in the second half. Joic passes to Porter. Wide open look here for Murray. Not three off the mark. Oklahoma City shooting 53% from the floor. They’re locked in. Yic against Gilas Alexander. Julius Alexander does a good job of just staying aggressive and that just forces the defense to do something. He’s shooting free throws. Number four and five here. Shooting two. [Applause] No good on that one. [Applause] Got to get it. Big rebound. Big and the second free throw. Good. And so it’s Murray with it. He brings it up for the Nuggets. They trail by nine points. Half to Gordon to the paint. Two free throws coming up. And they call the shooting foul. Well, I not only like the attack, but I love the angle of attack from Jamal Murray that time. He’ll take his third and fourth free throw shots of the game right here. [Applause] free throw. Good. Murray and Jamal Murray more and more has come into his own as a player capable of shouldering the offensive load and being a leader for his team at times. [Applause] And so Murray nails both of them. Oklahoma City leading by seven. Pass to Homer. Jacks up a three and it’s Jokic with the rebound. Nuggets have gone. One of three since starting the second half from deep. Offensive [Applause] rebound. Here’s Brown. Gil Alexander covering. Six to shoot. Here’s Yic. And he makes the bucket. Gets the whistle. And now a three-point play chance here for him. Again and again, they’re dissecting the defense and creating those high percentage looks from inside. And this is his fourth trip to the free throw line tonight. And the Thunder making a switch here. Jones has checked [Applause] in. And that one misses. The Thunder with the lead. Here’s Gilis Alexander. That’s in. Coming off an assist from Jones. Gil just Alexander’s got 19 points. Murray with it. He has [Applause] seven. Lays it up and in on the nice reverse. Meeting the defense with a tenacious will to score. Murray giving you that effort. Gildas Alexander passes to Jones for Yic. Jones no luck. The Nuggets trail by five. Yic gets to M. There’s Gordon with the three. Buries it from three-point range. Gordon’s got 13. Zero hesitation that time from Gordon. And Mark Dagnel calls timeout. Wants to talk some things over. might be seeing some things to [Applause] [Applause] adjust. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Jang. He’s checked in for Jones. Right around 3 minutes into the second half. Pass to Gordon and stolen by Jen. It’s deflected. Homegrren dishes to Jang on the wing. Gilis Alexander and that one hits back iron. Denver’s gone. One of three from downtown since halftime. Driving in and the rejection by Hungren. An outstanding shot blocker. It’s not just about Hungren’s length. It’s about his positioning as well. Oklahoma City moving it around. Dort against Murray. Just five to shoot. Gilis Alexander passes to Homegrren. Shoots a fader. Rebound by the Nuggets. Down low. Murray and the rejection by Hendren. Porter with it. Williams picks him up. Porter kicks to Mr. and stolen by Jen and the Thunder pushing it up now and the bucket is good. Three-point play chance here for him. Let’s look at the energy stats. How the hustle game has been going for the Thunder. I like their defense tonight and we don’t talk about that side of the ball enough. You can really change a game when you get a bunch of steals and get out in transition. Well, if we add another thing to it, it’s about the urgency they’ve played with. I mean, you look at the eyes of these guys, they’re focused, wanting to get up tempo, and that’s helped them score on the fast break. That’s good from Williams. And so, it’s Murray who brings the ball up for the Nuggets. It’s a five-point game. Pass to [Applause] Gordon. Here’s Brown. He’s got 16. [Applause] Pocket four. Gordon dishes to Murray. It’s over to George. Rebound by Wallace. Maybe there are ways to contribute that don’t involve shooting the basketball. That’s the best way that maybe he can help them out trying to win this game. Dort kicks to Homegrren. Back to Dort. Wallace with a screen for Dort. out to the right wing. Now here’s from the arc and it’s Denver with the rebound. Gordon’s got his fifth rebound right now in the game. Finds Gordon. Porter looking it over. Pass to Murray outside. Porter Nuggets need to get a shot off. The Nuggets with another miss. He just doesn’t look like himself this quarter. Something’s missing. Well, he’s missing and it’s starting to affect a little bit in his body language and you just don’t want to see that. The Nuggets trail by five. Three-pointer. It’s K Homegrren with the rebound. Homer’s got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. The Thunder with another miss. Time for some consideration in the passing category. Maybe Kevin, the shot is just not on. Get somebody else going [Applause] outside. Gordon. Good. And a nice assist from Porter. Porter’s got three assists tonight. And you want more and more of this from Aaron Gordon. When he plays with an edge, he gets dangerous. Now here’s Dort. Homegrren with a screen on Porter. There’s Williams. Dort against Murray. Here’s Homegrren. Great pass to set up the layin. 15 points for Chad Homegrren. I mean, sneaky when he moves around the floor. Homer takes you out of the play, slips past, and just rolls to the hoop. Time call here. The Nuggets decide to talk it [Applause] [Applause] over. [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] Alex Caruso, he’s checked in for the Thunder. Denver also making some changes. Payton Watson comes in for Porter and Russell Westbrook is subbed in for Jamal Murray outside West and oh Boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two tonight. He’s gone three of six from the line. [Applause] [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. [Applause] That one falls. So he hits both of them and the Thunder with the possession here. They’ve led by as much as 10. Pass to Caruso and a great assist by Gilis Alexander as that one goes in. Gilis Alexander’s got his seventh assist of the game with that last one. Now here’s Westbrook. Seven points in the game and the officials will call the illegal screen right there. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet more set on that screen. Easy call. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. And Oklahoma City making a change here. Arinstein’s checked in. The Thunder leading by [Applause] five now. Here’s Gis Alexander. 19 points in the game. Fouled on the shot and picks up two points. So, one free throw coming up. What a performance on the offensive end. He’s making the defenders pay right now for all of the mistakes they’re making. And it’ll be his fourth time going to the free throw line in the game. [Applause] Here’s Frother. Pass to [Applause] Brown. Here’s Westbrook. And another miss by Denver. For Oklahoma City, they’ve gone at a pretty good shooting pace. They’re six of 13 from the field here in the third. And there’s the basket. Whistle blows and a chance for a three-point play. Going to the line for one. Boy, you have to be impressed with the offensive production. They have got it firing on all cylinders. I mean, this team is just dangerous right now. Every shot that they’re putting up feels like it’s going in. Porter checked in for the Nuggets. That one misses for Williams. And it’s Porter with the ball for the Nuggets. Trailing by 10. Westbrook passes to Gordon. Now here’s Porter. Pass to Straw. Five on the clock. Will it go? No good there. Oklahoma City leading by 10. Gilgis Alexander kicks to Caruso left side. Gilg Alexander and it’s blocked by Gordon. What a swat by Aaron Gordon. Here’s Westbrook and he gets the basket. Officials blowing the whistle. So a chance at the line for one more and running with a full head of steam but completely under control. Yeah, you think he’s comfortable at that speed. He’s done it so many times before. Just an absolute blur in transition and that helps get the rhythm going. This will be his fifth trip to the free throw [Applause] line. The free throw drops for Russell Westbrook. The Thunder have gone seven to 15 from the field here in the third quarter. Wallace with a screen for Gilg Alexander. Williams passes to Hartenstein. No question he got bumped on that shot. First trip to the line for him here. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And free throw good from [Applause] Hartinstein. Take a rebound. Got to get it. Big rebound. Big. And so Hartinstein nails both of them. The Nuggets trail by [Applause] nine. Pass to Brown. Gordon with a screen on Gilas Alexander. Outside Gordon and it’s blocked. Out of bounds. Oklahoma City possession. And now let’s take a look again at that incredible rejection. Man, that block was something. It’s the playoffs and every possession and defensive stop matters. I just Alexander passes to Caruso. Pass to Wallace. This will blow. Bucket is good. And he’ll have a chance at the line to make it a three-point play. Unwilling to let up even for a moment. That’s his killer instinct. Just fanning the Flames. Yeah, he’s the guy that you want to go to right now trying to put this one away. What’s up, [Applause] The Nuggets trail by [Applause] 12 inside. Here’s Gordon. Good. Nice assist from Westbrook. And that’s 18 points for Aaron Gordon. And you know, he’s enjoyed the kind of day you expect in terms of shooting the basketball. He can bring them right back into this game. Oklahoma City moving the ball around to the paint. Here’s Wallace. Lays it up and banks it in. Wallace has got the lead up to 12 now for the Thunder. Yeah, they’re going to have a nice little run here outside Westbrook. And a lot of contact on that one. So, he’ll shoot two [Applause] here. He’s been spending quite a bit of time at the foul line. This is trick number six. [Applause] [Applause] First free throw is good. They are making it look easy at the free throw line here in the second half. [Applause] So he gets them both. And here is Gilis Alexander. He’s got [Applause] 22. Releases. He’s looking for Caruso and finds him. Involving guys with your eyes and seeing plays like this. That’s a beautiful play by Gilas Alexander. Westbrook against Coruso. Back to Westbrook. [Applause] Whistle blows. Basket is good. So, a chance here for a three-point play and not relying at all on the three-point shot. Uh they may want to rethink about stretching the defense a bit like they did in that first half. He’s been racking up good numbers of free throws, shooting eight for 11. Joic has checked in for the Nuggets. [Applause] [Applause] that one misses for Westwood. And here’s Gilis Alexander. He’ll bring it up for the Thunder. Porter against Williams. Here’s Gilis Alexander. It’s hauled in by the Nuggets. Joic has got rebound number 13 for him here tonight. Porter finds Joic. He’s looking for Porter and finds him outside West. It’s stolen by Gilander. And here we go. Fast break. Wallace has got it. Misses from short [Applause] range. Westbrook against Williams. Pass to Brown. Back to Westbrook. Fires for three. Brown’s shot is off. Oo, he missed an easy chance to put some points on the board. He won’t get a much better look at that kind of shot again here probably tonight. Gilg Alexander kicks to Williams. Hardenstein with a screen on Port. Williams gets the bucket. And you would think a coach might have talked to his defense about making the adjustment on him, but right now he’s just lighting him up. Pass to Strawer. 3sec difference between shot clock and game to the middle. Lets it go from deep. Rebound by Williams. Williams has got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Here’s Wallace. Well, through three quarters of play, down double digits. It may be difficult to overcome. Oklahoma City out in front. They lead by 13. And for 2K Sports, we’ll be back here at Paycom Center right after this. And a chance right now to show you our State Farm assist of the game. Just true artistry right there. I mean, great decision on where to go with the ball. And how about the perfect delivery. Yeah, those are the kind of plays that you’ll want to put on a canvas. Just beautiful basketball. [Applause] And there may not be a lot of drama down the stretch as we head into the fourth quarter, but stranger things have happened. The forwards are Dort and Homegrren. Alex Caruso out there with Kase Wallace. And it’s Hartinstein in at the center filling out the middle. That’s the lineup in the game for Oklahoma City. [Applause] [Applause] One shot. Got to get it. Free throw drops for Homegrren. Now Joic outside [Applause] Porter outside West on the Wayne. Murray. Nice defense from Dors. Oklahoma City leading by 16. To the inside. Here’s Homer. Nice D from Porter. Denver shooting here about 46% for the game. Back to Westbrook. Denver passing it [Applause] around. Joic inside. He’s defended by Hortonstein. Keeps it alive. Joic on the foul. Oh, and a nice job of turning that miss into two points on the tip end. Hustle points. I believe they call them hustle points right there. Now, here’s Waltz. [Applause] Sets the screen for Wallace. A three-pointer off the mark. Well, if he wants to make the defense work, he’s got to start knocking down the threes. Only one so far in this game for him and none since halftime. and and didn’t do anything fancy there, but didn’t need to. Nope. He his only concern right now is getting the points on the board. And I I don’t mean style points. And here now, the Thunder after the Nuggets pick up two. Here’s Wallace. He scores his fifth field goal. He’s taking nine shots to get those five. And Matador defense, that’s one of the easiest shots he is ever going to see. Yeah, feels like Christmas right now. Just gift wrapping points. Now here’s Porter trying to find Joic gets it to him. Yes. And the foul. Hartenstein. And so he’s picked up his final foul and he will sit for the rest of this game. Williams, he’s checked in for Hartinstein. And a switcher also for Denver. Gordon’s checked in for Russell West. [Applause] Free throw good. Joic the Thunder leading by [Applause] 11. Caruso the pass to Homegrren. Here’s Wallace. Pass to Caruso. And here is Dort. He’s covered by Murray. Caruso kicks to Williams. Just five on the clock. Laid in with a nice touch off the glass. Williams has got 20 points. Again, it’s Jaylen Williams. He is in a groove playing with confidence. Let’s keep finding him. And here’s Porter. Murray down low. Defended by Dors. They get it back. Here’s Brown. Good. And the assist goes to Murray. Murray’s got his fourth assist with that last one here tonight. Really surprising to see the huge edge they have in rebounds given what the scoreboard says. Wallace outside. Back to Williams. Jokic with the steel and pushing it up. Here’s Denver. Porter with it. He’s picked up by Homegrren. Porter passes to Murray. Stolen by Dort. Here’s Wallace defended by Gordon. Williams with a clean look. Hangs home the trifecta. Williams has got 13 points here in the second half alone. Well, he now has four three-pointers this game, guys. Two in each half. He’s really spacing out the floor for his teammates. Spins. [Applause] Caruso against Yic. down and drops through the net for his ninth bucket. He is nine for 13 so [Applause] far. Yic against Caruso outside Dort. No good on the triple. And the great shooters know when they’ve got enough opening to go for the three. I didn’t think it was a bad choice on that possession for three. Murray connects from three-point range. Murray’s got it back down to within single digits for the Nuggets. And Mark Dagno calls timeout here. Wants to make sure everybody’s coordinated and intent. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Getting the latest now from our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David, it’s all yours. Take it away. Hey guys, during the last break, here’s what Mark Dagno was telling his team. While the team is up, coach doesn’t want his team to let up. He told the team to finish this game. Do not think this will be easy. We’ve seen comebacks before, Kevin. Back to you. All right. Thank you, David. always with the ball. Over in the corner, Dortills it from outside and the Thunder lead by 11. This is the area where Dort has really shown some massive improvement. Great touch from that game. Pass to Yic. Here’s Brown. Joic finds [Applause] Murray. Down to five on the shot clock. Here’s Yic. It’s tipped. Jordan making his impact. And that’s the end we expected from defensively. Williams. He’s checked in for the fun. But Thunder leading by 11. [Applause] Here’s Wallace. Ash to Homegrren over Gordon. Homegrren can’t hit. The Nuggets have gotten into a pretty good groove going six and 10 here in the final quarter. And it’s Gordon missing. Yeah. And that was lining up to be a huge alley, but they just couldn’t quite connect. Yeah, you can see when it’s that close, players reacting just, oh man, we just missed that one. Maybe they’ll get another chance at it. This whole second half, he’s been unbelievable scoring the basketball. The defense has had literally no effect. The eight-footer. A nice shot by Brown. Brown’s got 21 in the game. Playing from behind right here. Not easy, but he is answering the bell. Yeah. doing anything he can right now to get his team to cut into this lead and give them a chance. The skill from home is something to behold. Murray against Dort. Murray kicks the Joic. Joic with his screen on Wallace into the lane and the ball travels out of his hands. It was last touched by Joic and the Thunder making a change here. Elis Alexander checked in. And it’s Williams with the ball for Oklahoma City. At one point they led by 16. Murray against Dort and it’s Denver with the rebound. Well, his shooting has been a little bit below par. You think about what this lead would look like if he was on. And it’s Gordon missing. And you don’t want to give up that kind of look too often. Pass to Dort now. Gilis Alexander outside. Williams. Oh, and that one had the right spin on it and it is good. Williams has got nine points now in the quarter. The Nuggets trail by 15. Murray outside. Here’s Yic. It’s Kent Homegrren with the rebound. Thunder have gone eight of 13 from the field since the start of the fourth, sinking the majority of their shots. Back to Gildas Alexander down low. Here’s Williams and it’s Williams finishing it off. What a jam by Williams justing off the floor and throwing it down. Now here’s Murray. Balls knocked loose and Gildas Alexander. Here we [Applause] go. Nuggets have gone through the fourth quarter shooting 50%. Seven of 14. Murray no good. And the Thunder with possession. Stringing it together. They’ve got an 11-2 run going. Williams. That’s good. Down the stretch. He’s been flat out awesome. He helped them get the lead and now he’s making sure they keep it. Joic passes to Porter. Here’s Brown. Pass to Gordon trying to find Joic. Gets it to him and he drops it in from the low post. Joic has got 25 points in the game. It feels like the other four guys have disappeared at this point. He wants to be the one to get them back. One-on-one here inside pass to Gordon. And here is Williams and it’s slammed in by Williams. Well, if you don’t take care of the ball, fellas, that’s what can happen. Absolutely, Greg. That makes the turnover even more painful. And the gamble paying off. Now, here’s Murray. Brown. The pass to Gordon. Here’s Brown. Goes back up and Joic gets it to go. He’s got 27. This is not a player who likes to be trailing in any game. That lights a fire. On the wing, Gilgus Alexander and the shot goes down. Man, we’re all too familiar with these kind of outbursts from SGA. Well, Nuggets trail by 19. Timeout called. Nuggets and they’re allowing too many points in the paint. Coach is going to let him hear about it. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that. In the timeout, they’re going to hear about it. Make the [Applause] [Applause] adjustment. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Thunder on D. Here’s Murray and the rebound goes for the Thunder. Dort kicks to Gilis Alexander. Back to Dort. Oklahoma City moving it around. Homerren sets the screen for Dort. Pocket six. Shoots. Rebound by the Nuggets. Joic has got his 16th rebound on the night. Murray outside. Back to Joic. And Joic throws it down. And teammates more and more looking for plays from Murray like that. Time called here. The Thunder decide to talk it over. 133 left in the fourth quarter of this one. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] And now, let’s present our New Balance player of the game, Jaylen Williams. And guys, no doubt who our pick was going to be. He’s made everyone else on the court look like they’re playing at half speed. It’s been total domination, and you can’t help but just sit back and admire that performance. With the conference finals within reach, he was not going to let it slip away. [Applause] Here’s Wallace and he could not get that one to go. Lot of contact and he’ll go to the line for two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] Free throw. Good. Wallace. [Applause] Owens hits two free throws. And here’s Westbrook. He’ll bring it up for the Denver Nuggets. 19-point game. And guys, just really impressed. They made big plays when it counted. And that’s why it’s going to be on to the next round for the Thunder. At every opportunity, they managed to push the ball and keep the uptempo game going. I think it paid off, that’s for sure. And for a series that went the distance, you have to admire how they were able to close it out here as the time winds down. Yeah. Well, you never know going into a game seven like this who is going to rise to the occasion. I think they showed they had exactly what was needed, that extra grit and grind to fight for the win, fight for the series. And and congratulations are definitely in order. And something we’ve come to almost expect is greatness from this one. Such an overall great performance it was for Jaylen Williams. He was tough to cover all game long. One of those nights when he felt like nobody could stop him and they didn’t. He hits the second from the line. The team struggling to come back. He really wanted all of those free throws. The Thunder leading by 18. Here’s Wallace and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. That one on Porter. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] all hits. It’s two free throws. 107 left in the fourth quarter. Now Westbrook pass to Joic. There’s the three. That’s good. And so Westbrook comes up with the assist. Joic has got 33 points. I respect Russell Westbrook’s passing ability. Something that he’s worked hard to become better at. Wall is with the ball. Oklahoma City moving the ball around. Five to shoot. There’s the screen. Here’s Caruso. And oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot [Applause] two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shot. The free throw drops for Caruso. [Applause] Second free throw. No good. Porter dishes to Westbrook. 7second difference. Shot and game clock. Pass to Joic or the three. Wiggins with the rebound. Now here’s Caruso. He’s covered by Watson. And so the Oklahoma City Thunder take the series and will continue. They took the long road to get here, but they’ve done it. They’re moving on to the conference finals, Greg, after a thrilling seven game series and a win here in round two. And what a memorable series this was. So fitting that it came down to a game seven and now no rest for the weary. They’ve got to get right back to work. Well, that’ll do it folks. Glad you could join us for the Western Conference semi-finals. For Brent Barry, Greg Anthony, and David Alders, this is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching. And as we leave you, we give you our player of the game, Jaylen Williams.
