Derrick White on Celtics: “We’ll never have the same team again.” | FULL Press Conference
NEW YORK — Celtics fall to Knicks 119-81 in Game 6 and officially puts the Celtics back-to-back championship hopes to an end, as the New York Knicks win the series 4-2.
Derrick White played 30 minutes had 8 Points and was a team worst -45. White spoke to the media postgame about the loss and the future of this Celtics team.
Derrick White was about the challenges of trying to repeat:
“You win the championship and you got a target on your back from day one.”
White also discussed the future of this team and if he thinks the whole group will be back together next season.
“It sucks. Never gonna get this season back. Never gonna have the exact same team again.”
He was also asked what he is most proud of in his time in Boston.
“I just love playing with the guys we have in that locker room… I think that’s what I’ll probably be the most proud of. Being able to say that I put on a Boston Celtics uniform with some amazing group of people.”

Just as human beings, I love the players we got. Sucks when the business side comes in and trades players away. Just gotta hope Stevens makes the team better in the process but I hope he considers the side of it that these dudes have a lot of chemistry and thats pretty invaluable.

He us a Top 40 player in the league, if Brown goes he will be a great Robin to Tatums Batman..if Tatum comes back 90% or better

Derrick White is one of the reasons that I haven’t stopped watching the NBA. He’s not your typical athlete of these times. I hope they keep him over Jaylen Brown.

Mazzula seems like he’s more of a friend than a coach no way in hell I would let 2 games we should’ve one and up by 20 or more loose call timeouts in game call them out in game to cut the momentum 🤔 need a coach who isn’t afraid to make in game adjustments

The 3z Became our new identity, which I hated, and We Died by it
the loss of Tatum & Porzingis had big impact on this team's ability to advance to the Finals

Derrick is a champion in every way. Honest, humble, and sometimes very, very special on the basketball court. I hope he stays with the Celtics until he retires.
