Every Knicks starter in double figures. Carl Anthony Towns had a great game and a great start. And the Knicks eliminate the Celtics 119 to 81. Knicks into the conference finals for the first time since 2000. Great to have you with us here from our Delta MSU studios. Bill Pedo along with Alan Han and Wally Zerbiaak. No one on the planet had the Knicks winning this series. No one, I don’t think, thought the Knicks would win this game by 38 points. The biggest game they’ve had in 25 years, they could not have played any better. They wiped the Celtics off the court, Wally, from start to finish. That’s why we love sports. It’s the ultimate reality TV. You never know the outcome. What a performance. adjustments right and left by Tom Thibido and the New York Knicks and that building it was electric just awesome male Bridges a big game tonight 22 points now joins us from across the street male congrats on your play congrats on your team’s phenomenal play how did you guys make it look so easy um just playing hard man you know shout out to them though they um competing I know they have their man down and they fighting for him um utmost respect for them you know how much they grind how hard they play um but we just came out there with intensity and um from the jump, you know, and I’m just proud of everybody and really happy about the third quarter. You know, you could be up a lot in that half, come out third, give them some energy, and I think we start off that third really well. So, I’m, you know, I’m really happy. Muel, I was in that building. I was getting chills. Those fans were unbelievable. What was it like to play in front in that game in front of those fans? Man, it’s amazing. It makes you want to make every shot. Makes you want to get every stop. You know, you don’t want nobody scoring you. You want to make the play. you want to make the pass, you want to do everything right. So, um, you know, shout out to the fans, man. They give us so much confidence. Go out there and, um, you know, happy we could have we could have done it here. Male, congrats to you and your teammates and best of luck in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers. Game one is Wednesday night. Thank you guys. Appreciate y’all. All right, talk about the start, Wall-E. I mean, the Knicks, they were stifling on defense early in the game and Bridges had 10 points in that first quarter. Really helped key the Knicks great start. It all started with the adjustments that the coaching staff made. There were no open looks for that uh Boston Celtics team. Derek White had to shoot 30footers if he wanted to get three-point attempts up. And their sense of urgency, you could see a level that this team can get to. That was championship basketball. The way they played in that whole entire game and especially in the first quarter, the way they set the tone, I saw Derek White shaking his head on a few plays. When Deuce McBride hit that three in his face in the second quarter, he was like, “We got no shot tonight.” You could see it in your opponent’s face. When you have taken their heart and ripped it out of their chest, they had no chance to win this game because of the way the Knicks came out at the beginning. 38-point win is the largest margin of victory the Knicks have ever had in a playoff game. The previous high 36 against the Bucks all the way back in 1970. Talked about the Knicks start. How about the assertiveness early Allen for Carl Anthony Towns? 10 of his 23, I should say 11 of his 23 came in the first quarter. Yeah, he was in attack mode. He was embarrassed about what game five looked like for him and the way they were able to defend him and bring over the spy and Luke Cornette. And he decided, get me out on the perimeter and let me work. And he went one-on-one against Big. You see there comes Cornett, but it was too late. He had his shooting touch on and then he had smaller players on him. He went beast mode. That’s right. Flex on him, Cat. Let him know. And how about the board work, too? boxing out, finishing strong around the basket. This was the Carl Anthony Towns that everybody was looking for. He gave you a double double, 21 and 12, but it was just special the way he started the game. He’s the one that really got it going in the building because you could tell the fans wanted to see this kind of performance. This was not only for him, but it felt like as well. You talked about being in the building, this was like a catharsis in that building. I mean, this was so many fans have been waiting a long time for a game like this and a feeling like this and it was special. And to have Caron Towns, the new player, but a guy who knows the Knicks well because he’s a guy from New Jersey. To have him started off the way he did, boy, did that set a tone. I I I think the performance that this team put together in this game, it is the final piece to all their confidence coming together. Because you got to remember, Cat’s a new guy. He just came this year. It takes a little bit of time to go through ups and downs like this team has gone through, losing a game, a game five in Boston the way they did and then bouncing back the way they did. The way they responded, the way that locker room responded, the way OGN and Obi bounced back after one for 12, Mikuel Bridges, the way he played in this whole entire playoff so far. This team is growing right before our eyes. And I don’t think they know how good they are. They showed how good they can be. And this team is a legitimate title contender to win it all already this year. You guys uh been talking about Anobi. Well, you just referenced him, 23 points, only six in the last game and two others in the series in single digits. Not only they score, but his blocks early in the game really helped set the tone. Yeah. And Jaylen Brown like he was good in the first quarter. Had 13 in the first quarter. trying to keep the Boston Celtics in the game, but it was just an avalanche of defenders all over Jaylen Brown. Just locked in to stop him and not let him do anything. And then Anobi got going with that dunk. He missed his first couple shots. They were wide open looks. But once he saw the ball go through the rim with that dunk, he just completely just let his instincts take over. And that’s what you do when you are in completely in flow and in rhythm. And that’s what great players do. The shot quality that this Knicks team was generating today, Allan, it was outstanding. Jaylen Brunson was getting whatever he wanted for himself and then creating wide open shots. Step-in threes, high percentage looks, just a complete team effort and a dominating performance. And a lot of it came off their defense again into transition, into speed, not letting their defense get set. They scored 22 points off of Boston’s turnover. So that was also a big part of this is being able to get your defense set but also attacking their defense without it getting set. And this was the game where you started to feel like the Tatum loss because Brown was struggling. The Knicks were bottling him up. You mentioned Derek White. They gave him no air space whatsoever. So he couldn’t get off to a that fast start he likes to get off to. He wasn’t getting off threes and they shot under 30% from three. Now keep in mind in their wins in this series they shot 47% from three. In their losses, they shot 27%. Right? So, that just showed you right there. You’ve got to take that away from them. And they have no other answer because they don’t have a one-on-one player anymore in the lineup. White only scored eight points. Three of 11 from downtown. Yeah. Two of eight from downtown. They treated him like a star. They treated him like a star. Okay. You’re scoring. He was 10 and 15 on open threes in the past two games. They said, “We’re taking that away.” They treated him like a star. You saw Bridges following him around everywhere. Communication in transition. You talked about their transition defense being a key to the game. I mean, they were picking up guys right when they set foot over half court. It wasn’t like run back to the paint and build out. It was right when they crossed half court. The Knicks had a guy on uh White Pritchard, Jaylen Brown. I mean, it was aggressive defense, full court almost to make sure those guys don’t get any quality looks. And the Celtics still tried to shoot threes. I mean, still got 49 up, but the quality of their threes, you knew those weren’t going in a lot of them. You remember my stat to watch the minus 35 of the starting five. I mean, this game everybody Nick starters coming into this game. Minus 35 points and Jaylen Brunson said, “That’s a problem. We got to fix that.” Well, you had four starters in 20 and Josh Hart gave you a triple double. Like, that’s what your starters did in this game in win time. And that that says a lot about that group and how aware they were where they are of what they did in game five and how much they were able to make up for it in one game. Also want to point out 27point halftime lead tied for their largest halftime lead in a playoff game since May 8th 1970. That’s when Willis Reed came down the tunnel and the Knicks won game seven against the Lakers. May 8th 1970. They led the Lakers by 27 at the half. Tonight they led the Celtics by 27 at the half. And again, the 38 point playoff win, their largest playoff win

It was a historic victory for the Knicks in several ways – New York’s 119-81 win was by the largest margin in team’s history and it places the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. Josh Hart became the first Knick since Walt “Clyde” Frazier to earn a triple-double in the playoffs.

  1. So we don't care that the middle east pulled 9/11? Nice advertisement on the shirt just like Golf selling morals for money.

  2. Lmao you said Derrick white was shaking his head when duce mcbride hit a 3. Thinking they have no shot😂no he was shaking his head cuz that role player is garbage and never hits any shots and Whites in butter disbelief that the trash ass role player actually hit shot in momentum moments, and can’t believe he was even taking a shot like that in the first place. Fucking Delusional analysis.

  3. I’m a Celtics fan , but it’s their own fault they lost the series .They blew it in the first two home games where they spent too much time shooting threes as opposed to continually attacking the basket.
Boston needs to make some serious changes for next season . Just thinking, Boston had won one of the first two games at home of the series would be 3-3 with the seventh game at the TD Garden.

  4. I said before these playoffs started the number 1 and 2 seed in each conference wont make there conference finals and if Denver some how win tonight ill be spot on but regardless im eyeing my Knicks in the finals vs Minny!

  5. That was a proper closing of a series. The best game all season they played from the start to the end. The defense was quicker to close down the 3ball which was the difference maker. Lets go get those Pacers.

  6. Well Knicks fans catch your breath take a few days off because this series is gonna be like Knicks vs Pacers in the 90 I was here for it so I'm built for what's about to come Knicks in 7

  7. I'M BEYOND PROUD!! I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. YEARS OF SUFFERING AS A FANBASE MAN, WE DESERVE THIS. LETS GOOOOOO 🧡💙🧡💙🧡💙

  8. If we get to the finals, NBA should make an exception and let Clyde and Breen call the game together.

  9. Why do they try to speak for everyone on the planet? I said the knicks could beat Celtics. Go back to all my posts.. we are fully healthy and can beat anyone.
