Your reply to a question here proves my point in a poignant way. For many of us true MFFLs, it’s not about whether or not the Mavs are “screwed up” right now, as Nico says. It’s about the fact that we were happy to take the journey with Luka. He was our chosen “next” to replace Dirk. We enjoyed watching him mature and grow. And we weren’t asking for a “now” win or a “superb defense”. You see, we spend money (for me, buying season tickets, etc) on entertainment that we enjoy.
Most MFFLs that I am friends with don’t really enjoy the games simply because of the score. It’s about the whole story. The journey. It’s something we can talk about around the table. Enjoy laughing about, and anticipating. It was that way with Dirk for 10 years. It was that way with Luka. The blatant ignorance of that by the trade has caused many to question the current ownership/leadership.
For many of us, it’s not about "defense" or. "now win". We feel that what we, as the ones who bring in the money for ownership, were not considered during the process. The ownership simply ASSUMED that they could do this and get by with it. This is what THEY wanted. If you’ve been watching, you can tell that it’s NOT what many of US wanted. And we feel that what WE want, as the ones who spend a LOT of $$$$ on entertainment…counts.
I won’t debate you, or anyone else. PERIOD. And I wish you the best.
