But this trade would see the Cleveland Cavaliers receiving Devin Vel, a 2025 second overall draft pick, a 2025 14th overall draft pick, and a 2029 first round draft pick. And the San Antonio Spurs receiving Donovan Mitchell. So, this trade immediately actually is pretty intriguing in my personal opinion from my initial thoughts. If the Spurs get Donovan Mitchell, uh they would utilize their excess draft capital as well as the rising superstar status of Victor Wanyama and the recent acquisition and and the recent um acquisition of De’aran Fox to build both the championship caliber team now and not just wait especially too with Stefon Castle winning the rookie of the year like this Spurs team have a very nice young core and if you’re able to add a superstar caliber player like Donovan Mitchell to the mix this would just be awesome and I actually would be so on board for uh the Spurs kind of making a run, pushing all their chips into the middle of the table and trying to win a championship now uh when Victor Wayneyama is still relatively inexpensive. So, this is an amazing idea for them. Uh the Spurs, of course, have been linked to Giannis, Kevin Durant, um Devin Booker, like lots of those valuable players that are potentially available on the trade market this off season. They have been linked to the Spurs because the Spurs have that number two pick at their disposal. They have a 14th overall draft pick as well. They have good young talent uh like Kell Johnson, Devin Vel. They even have players like De’ar Fox and Stefon Castle if they wanted to trade those guys. They could get back a whole for those guys as well. So, I’m all on board for this trade if I’m the Spurs. Now, for the Cavaliers, this would be them retooling quite a bit, but also getting a little bit younger. Like Devin Facel is a more than capable starting uh player in this league. So, I think that he’s obviously not going to replace Donovan Mitchell, but he’s not a terrible player in his own right. Perhaps he thrives with a change of scenery. That’s possible as well. But where, of course, you’re getting back the most value. Number two overall pick this year where you could draft a very, very, very high-end superstar player. Uh, number 14 as well, like you get a good piece as well. If you draft well with those two picks, you’re laughing. And a future first round pick in 2029, that could definitely be a pretty good pick. Probably not. Uh, but this is actually pretty awesome. So, the winner of this deal has to be the Spurs. But if the Cavs drafted well, they probably win this in the long run.
