Trade Update: Giannis Antetokounmpo DELIVERING News To Bucks
The time has come for Giannis Antmpo to look the Milwaukee Bucks straight in the eye and tell them what he wants. Does he want to stay in Milwaukee or go contend for a championship somewhere else? A meeting has been set. This is going to be a big big piece to the NBA offseason. It could set the entire direction for the summer. I’m Trevor Lane. This is the Basketball Bulletin. Make sure you subscribe right here to the channel. Let’s talk a little bit about this Giannis meeting that has been scheduled with the Milwaukee Bucks. But first, a little announcement here. So come hang out with us today for game seven. So this meeting here, Giannis onto Dumpo scheduled to meet with the Bucks. This is Chris Haynes reporting on it. Uh gives a lot of detail here on exactly what is about to go down. So let’s give this a look. I was told the Bucks made contact with Giannis Akmpo early as this morning and sources relate to me that a meeting is expected to be scheduled for mid next week. This is where Giannis is going to have the chance to speak with Bucks brass and talk about the direction of the team. And there’s a lot going on with the Bucks this off seasonason. Knowing Giannis personally, one of the one of the toughest competitors we have in this league. Guy who has great ambition. He wants multiple championships. That’s all he wants to do is be put in a position where he can play alongside a team that has a chance to fight for a title. This is going to be a very, very crucial meeting next week. See, that right there, that that right to me, that’s everything. That’s everything right there. He wants to be in a position where he can win multiple championships. He’s already won a championship. He wants to win more. He feels like he needs to win more championships in order for his career to be complete. He’s 30 years old. He is one of the all-time greats that we’ve seen in this league. He is an absolutely phenomenal player, but he doesn’t feel like his career is going to be complete unless he wins multiple championships. Well, guess what? It can’t happen in Milwaukee. It’s not happening. They’re done. It cannot happen in Milwaukee. Look, if Giannis decides he wants to stay a Milwaukee Buck for the rest of his career, there is something valid and noble about that, right? Spending your entire career with one team. It doesn’t happen very often anymore. Would be cool to see. If he wants to win a championship though, if that’s more important to him, he’s going to have to leave. Milwaukee is not set up to win a championship. Their window has shut. They’re done. They’re not winning another championship. Now, the Bucks will try during that meeting to convince Yiannis Koopmpa that oh no, no, no, no. We have a way we can contend for a championship. I don’t see it. You look at their cap sheet and it does not make sense. They don’t have the flexibility. They don’t have the future assets. And now you are down. Damen Lillard on I mean terrible injury, torn Achilles. He is probably out all of next season. The Bucks, they sure as hell are not winning a title next season. So what are they going to do in order to convince Giannis Antoupoa that he can win? I actually think it would be the best for the Bucks. Maybe not financially, but the best for the Bucks in terms of eventually winning basketball to work with Giannis and find a trade because I think they’re going to get a haul. They are going to get so much in exchange for Jiannis Takmpo that they could very well build the future of this club based on the foundation that the Jiannisko trade will provide them with. So I think it could actually be in the best interest of the Bucks for these two part sides. But I’ll tell you what is for sure. It’s in the best interest of Giannis Antmpo to leave the Milwaukee Bucks if his desire is indeed to win championships, which is what Chris Haynes was just talking about. Now, Kurt Hill of uh NBC Sports did a nice breakdown here on who would be interested in Giannis. First and foremost, though, I mean, let’s be real. Let’s be real. Everyone is interested. 29 teams are making the call on Giannis. 29 teams are making the phone call to get Giannis Aloop. That’s how damn good he is. They’re all making that call. But San Antonio, very clear. They got the number two pick in the draft. That would be an attractive asset they can put in the trade. They’ve got other pieces. Could you get Stefon Castle out of San Antonio if it’s Giannis out? Again, this is Giannis. He’s under contract for at least two years. Has a third-year player option. This is not a player like Kevin Durant who is one year remove away from free agency and can dictate his landing spot. Giannis can try to work with the Bucks can say, “Hey, I’d like to go to teams X, Y, or Z.” But ultimately, the Bucks are in the driver’s seat and they’re going to get to pick where Giannis goes. But it would make sense for Giannis to want to go to San Antonio. That’s a club that is ready to win right now. They’ve got Webby, an incredible talent, paired with Giannis. They’re immediately a title contender, even if it cost them Stefon Castle, who’s the reigning rookie of the year. They’ve got Harrison Barnes. They’ve got Kell Johnson. They’ve got the number two pick in this year’s draft. Again, we talk about building the foundation of the future of the Bucks. San Antonio can provide that while putting Giannis in a position to win right now. Uh, meanwhile, the Houston Rockets, another team, unfortunately, Houston, from their perspective, did not move up. In fact, they finished with the 10th pick in the NBA draft. They’ve got that Phoenix pick. But get this, I think this is really fascinating. Helm reporting here. League sources told NBC Sports, the Bucks may be higher on a Jaylen Greenbased trade than Alper and Sangon. Houston would be open to trading Sangoon. This is shocking to me. I would rate Sangun far above Jaylen Green and I like Jaylen Green just fine. He’s just streaky as hell. But I would much prefer if I’m the Milwaukee Bucks Alper and Shangon. Maybe they just feel like Jaylen Green has some upside that’s been untapped and and look that I think there’s something to that. That’s fair. But nonetheless, I think Shangoon is in a in a different tier certainly than Jaylen Green right now. But nonetheless, this is a report that the Bucks may be higher on a Jaylen Greenbased trade. Now, maybe that’s because there’s other pieces that would be coming in a Jaylen Greenbased trade that would not also be included in a trade based around uh somebody like Alpurn Shangon, though those conversations probably have not really been had in great detail at this point when we’ve yet to get Giannis officially asking out of Milwaukee, which again could be happening middle of this week. Uh Jabari Smith Jr. likely to be part of any deal and the Rockets have a lot of future first round picks, including Phoenix picks. That’s where look right now a lot of teams would like to be in the business of shorting the future of the Phoenix Suns. That franchise is a mess and doesn’t look like they have a very bright future. So those picks are extremely valuable. Now could the Houston Rockets beat an offer presented by the San Antonio Spurs? Potentially. I think it would be a really interesting bidding war. But the two Texas teams there, assuming the third team and the Dallas Mavericks don’t want to give up those that number one overall pick, the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets, they can very well wind up being the two teams that battle it out for Giannis as the primary landing spots for him should he, as I’m expecting middle of this week, ask out of Milwaukee. Now, the Brooklyn Nets trading for Ant Koopo is Brooklyn’s plan A. They have a lot of future draft picks they could throw into a deal, including number eight this year with Cam Johnson at the heart of the package. Now, you had it maybe D’Angelo Russell as well, though I would certainly hesitate to site DLO because he is a free agent. So, then you’re getting into a sign and trade or something like that. But would Giannis be okay with this? Look, the Milwaukee Bucks, we’ve talked about it. They are they will work with Giannis to find a trade if Giannis ass out. They’re not going to send him to Basketball Siberia. They’re not going to send him to a team that has no shot to win. Why? Because Giannis has been the MVP as a Milwaukee Bucks. He’s brought a title to the Milwaukee Bucks. They’re going to work with him. They’re going to want to send him to a place he wants to go. As long as they can get the kind of return that they want. I don’t think they’re going to do something like send Giannis to a team he doesn’t want to go to. I don’t know. for if you’re the Brooklyn Nets. Yes, you want Giannis Ant Koopa, but you better have a solid plan of how you’re going to build a contender if you do land him from day one. That would have to be explained to Giannis ahead of time. And Giannis would probably have to sign off on that. And that is the big question mark around the Brooklyn Nets and their ability to land Giannis onto Koopo. Can they present convincing proof that they have the ability to pivot and build a team immediately that can win right now if they wind up winning the Giannis Antmpo sweep stakes. Now again, a lot of other teams will get in the mix. The Golden State Warriors, I talked about them the other day. They could try to get into the mix by putting together a package. They’ve got players Jonathan Kaminga perhaps in a signing trade. Moses Moody, they do have draft capital. They’ve got some young talent. Brandon Pajki certainly can’t be off the table in this scenario, but maybe that’s something that the Golden State Warriors could look into. Certainly, they’re going to be making that call, but once again, 29 teams are making the call. The Miami Heat, they’re always in on every top level star whether or not they can actually get them. I don’t really think they have the assets to get Giannis Ant Koopa, but they will do their best to try to get into the mix. My Lakers and the New York Knicks, look, the Lakers, they can package together Austin Reeves, Ruy Hachimura. They do have one draft pick. I don’t think they have enough. I don’t think they have enough in order to truly get into the mix for Giannis. It would take Giannis saying, “I want to be a Laker and only a Laker and I do not want to play anywhere else.” And even then, because he’s got two years left under contract, that threat doesn’t have as much teeth to it as it would if Giannis was going to be heading towards free agency, say, next summer or something like that. Meanwhile, New York, similar situation. They’ve traded all their picks to get Muel Bridges. they could package together a few players in order to go try to get Giannis, they will certainly make the call. But right now, the Knicks are more worried about potentially winning an NBA championship this year than chasing after Giannis onto Dumpo. So, the bottom line, big big meeting coming up this week. Again, my expectation is that Giannis will ask the Milwaukee Bucks to trade him. And if that happens, off we go. And this summer is going to be all about the Giannis Antoupo trade. We’ll be talking about Kevin Durant and lots of other deals out there on the market. This is going to be the summer of trades around the NBA, which is why you need to make sure you do subscribe right here to the Basketball Bulletin. We will keep you in the know. And don’t forget, come hang out with us today, 12:30 p.m. Pacific time. Game 7, Nuggets Thunder. Let’s go. Should be a lot of fun. But thank you again, everybody, for joining. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Do you think that it’s possible that Giannis Antsuka would tell the Bucks, “You know what? Don’t trade me. I want to stay. I’m not that worried about contending for a championship. Or can the Bucks convince Giannis that they have some way that currently is not apparent to actually go and contend for a title? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below. Till next time, everybody. See you and stay safe.

He wants The Laker for many reason
🏰🏰🏰 Castle is staying !!! 😠
Big dog staying home 💪🏾
J.Brown + 3 picks for Giannis.
Go New York or Spurs.
I just hope he stays in the Eastern Conference. Otherwise the, already big, imbalance between the two conferences would become even wider.
Trading sengun would be incredibly stupid even if it’s Giannis. He’s literally their best player
In his X( freely twitters) Q&A season he was asked what city make him the happiest to be there? Hs respond was Florida cities Orlando and Miami
Even if the Lakers were able to get Giannis, they would have to gut their depth in order to do so. We've seen that this doesn't work in today's NBA.
It could very well happen his wife is from fresno which is approximately 180 miles from Los Angeles. His wife’s family also resides in Fresno Ca.
“Happy Wife Happy Life”
We learned from the playoffs that the Pacers are really really good. Which means we can change our perception of the Bucks to see them as a solid team that just ran into a bad matchup not fully loaded against a hot team. No need for Giannis to leave. The Bucks are a solid team and have great role players.
I would have no problem if they trade Luka's lazy a$$ for Giannis right now but if not then the Lakers know in two years they can have them both. Hopefully by then Luka learns what the expectations are we one wears the Lakers uniform.
Giannis should request Buck to trade for Cam Thomas.
Yeah, he's leaving
This guy is idiotic if Giannis not winning in Milwaukee. How in the hell is he winning anywhere else when Milwaukee going to gut them.
Regardless where Giannis chooses my team has no chance in getting him granted Dallas Mavs did just pull off 1.8 percent chance of getting number one draft pick while being in the play in. However I digress. Giannis could utilize a move from Tom Brady’s toolkit of take a slightly smaller salary to bring in more talent. If he values a championship so much and has already made couple hundred millions wouldn’t taking a smaller salary at least for a period of time be better alternative than being traded to team that traded their assets away for Giannis. If he was paid only 30 million and added another player for that amount would help a lot but Championship I just don’t know.
As a Laker fan I do not mind hearing news from time to time on who the Lakers may pick up in the off season but now it seems like everyday there is a video on some Laker signing even after the trade deadline or free agency. Every day , all year long even when its not even possible there is a different random player that is "Rumored" to be coming to the Lakers. Given enough time every player thats not already a Laker will be rumored to be coming to the Lakers or some kind of Laker interest. Its exhausting.🙄😮💨🙄😮💨
My Spurs have the best package outside of OKC. But I doubt they break up that chemistry of that team unless they fail to make it to the finals.
He’s coming to raptors. Let Masai cook just watch
Celtics jb and white
Giannas and his wife and parents have been in NYC this spring. When Luca got traded to LA . He said " Yeah, top Europeans should be playing for top market teams". Finally he says he wants to play for a team ready to win a championship. So based on all of the above that to me Screams NY Knicks.
The Bucks have to make a trade this summer. If they don't, their leverage gets a lot less next summer. Why would any team sell the farm now when Giannis is a free agent in two years.
Lakers ain’t got 💩 to trade for Gianni’s tho lmao plus I doubt he would wanna go play for the lakers
If he wants to win championship he needs to go the warriors his really close friends with curry
Giannis is either going to SAS or OKC … my dream is he comes to my bulls but 0 chance 😂🙏🏽🤞🏽
How about the Lakers I'll benefit him in the long run the Lakers are not far away we just need him another big man dat play defense and other players dat play defense and we good
The only reason to do this now is to accommodate a trade to the Spurs. The Bucks could use the 2nd overall pick.
Are you sure about that? Where did the bucks send Kris Middleton who helped win their only title.SIBERIA aka Washington
The Bucs would get a big haul if Giannis could make FT and make threes.
The Suns should trade KD and Book which will probably force Beal to wave his no trade clause. Phoenix will get excellent players and many picks for their future
If he leaves Milwaukee, he’ll never be the same
Giannis would be Lakers uniform next year. 100% or else. Nba would veto this. He had 99%chance playing with labron and doncic. To win nba championship
Why. He wanna go low market not smart Thas what happen to lilard he pick Milwaukee and now he is not same any more. He pick la. He will be main man and labron
As a Bucks fan, I will be dissspointed if the front office dosent get back Sengun in a trade for Giannis, I am not high on either Green or Jabari Smith Jr. One of them probably has to be included in the trade for Salary. It would probably make more sense for the Rockets to keep Jabari if they are trading Sengun because he could play center then. I would be fine taking back Green's contract but only if Sengun is included otherwise I am probably askingn for even more draft picks And im asking for Whitmore or Tari Eason
Brooklyn Nets are my prediction to where Greek Freak goes this summer.
Likely get Portland involved to teallly make anything to work – we have future pick swaps etc.
Steph Castle ain’t going anyone dude. #2, #14 some young talent and some picks but Castle is a no go.
Giannis was asked yesterday what is his favorite city and he answered New York! The Lakers should go for Jokic.
The Lakers don’t have any first round picks in the near future, no talent or the money to trade for Giannis. The Bucks need first round picks — they don’t have one until 2031’ish. If Giannis is traded they are getting a star and picks…do the work, there’s three teams, NOT LA, that have what the Bucks need.
No doubt Giannis is a phenomenal player. But at what cost? Clearing up our depth for 1 person is plain stupid. Go out and get a decent center that can defend and rebound as well as a backup. AR maybe gone so in his place find taller guards that can keep up with the likes of Ant, KD and etc that can also spot up and make open shots. Keep DFS and Vando, their defense are definitely needed. Rui disappeared in the playoffs so he can go and he's a dime a dozen type player.
You are a liar.
The Lakers don’t have anything that the Bucks would want for Giannis 😂
Kessler and Markahnen for Reaves Hachimura Kleber
The Organization now will have to deal with Karmic issues with the firing of Griffin so if they don't trade Giannis (best offer they can get is fronm the Rockets) They will not win another Championship this generation..The Ego/Mind is always in the way..
Imagine he go to golden state😢😅
I am a Lakers fan but I want him to be traded to the Rockets or Spurs. But I think the Rockets is nice, big market.
You telling me teams can beat a package of Reaves, Rui, Vando, Dalton, and a first and 2 pick swap? Reaves is at least count as 2 first, dalton is 1. Rui is at least 1 first and Vando one of the best elite wing defender. Bucks can develop Reaves and Dalton to become the future star.
we all know if giannis leaves bucks are getting the number 1 pick next year LOL
I dont know why nobody talks about thunder
He is the perfect fit there and they have the most assets in the NBA
