Spurs Fans WE ARE SO GOOD!

Spurs fan to hit me this weekend. Getting that second overall pick. We are in such a good position. So good. [Music] What is up San Antonio sports fans? Welcome to TSR Sports. I hope you had a great weekend and man, it has been absolutely crazy since getting that second overall pick. The amount of rumors that we are hearing trade for Giannis, some talks about trading Fox. I see some websites saying this first should never have traded for Fox because they’re going to draft Dylan Harper. Come on, that is hindsight 2020 to the extreme. And then some folks have been posting on this channel that Ron Harper has said he does not want Dylan Harper to play for the Spurs. I can’t find that anywhere. I’ve seen Ron Harper, I said, playing with WMY will be special. Something along the lines on the lines it’d be nice for the Nets or maybe the Knicks drafted him, but I can’t find anywhere where he said he doesn’t want him playing for the Spurs. That quote. So, if it’s out there, please let me know. I can’t find it. And of course, the the the fit thing, it doesn’t fit. We’ve got Castle, we got Fox. Doesn’t fit. And I was thinking, Spurs fans, we are in such a winwin situation right now. Why? I’ll talk about that in just a few moments. But first, let’s talk about these two players. And we’ll talk about Darren Darren Fox first because he is a Spur. And you look at his resume. Darren Fox is not a chump. Top 30 NBA, arguably top 25 player in the NBA, one-time all-star, 2023 clutch player of the year, led the league in steals per game, 2.0 in 2024, and multiple times in his career, he’s averaged 25 points per game. That’s a good player. All right, so what what’s Let’s do a little revision here. What did we trade for him? Because I actually wanted to look into this because we now have the lottery results. It’s like, oh yeah, what did we trade for Darren Fox? Remember when we traded for Darren, we were all excited like, man, we gave up much less than we thought. Well, here it is pretty much, not officially officially, but we got a clearer picture of what we gave up. Zack Collins, who played well here and there in Chicago, I think he played fairly well as a starter, not too much as a backup. Trey Jones, who was playing really well in Chicago, and then he got hurt and I think he missed the last few weeks. And City Sissoko, I don’t even know what team he’s on anymore. He bounced around quite a few times. It went to what, the Kings, Wizards. I I don’t know where City is at this point. gave up the 2025 first round pick that we had from the Bulls. I believe that was top eight protected that ended up falling in number 12. All right, that would have been an okay pick, I suppose. A 2025 first round pick from the Hornets, which it was lottery protected. They they are in lottery purgatory feels like for like forever. Our own 2027 first round pick, the 2031 first round pick we got from the Wolves when we traded Dilly. And then three second round picks. I didn’t feel like looking those up. I’m like, we have a million second round picks. We gave up three. Whatever. So, there’s what we get up for the Aron Fox. Really good player, great player at times, a clutch player. That’s the That’s what we give up. What about Dylan Harper? Let’s take a look at Dylan Harper’s resume. Kind of empty there, huh? Well, he’s not he’s never played for the Spurs. He’s never played in the NBA. He’s never played a second in the NBA. You’re probably thinking, TSR, what is the point you’re trying to make here? Dylan Harper, good. Sorry, Dylan Harper, hopefully a good player. Darren Fox, a good player. There’s what we gave up for him. What’s the point with the Dylan Harper stuff here? The best case scenario, Spurs fans, we draft Dylan Harper second. The best case is that Harper becomes the guy and he’s a starter in year three, maybe two. Heck, maybe we see him start next season at some point. A lot of Spurs fans and websites that talk about, you know, let’s have, you know, small ball plus two bigs. Wendy being another big. I don’t know who that is. The dancing bear if we get him in free agency. It’s Gershan Yavell if you don’t know. or you know then we have Fox Castle and Harper be actually Fox Harper Castle one two three. Okay, maybe he has a great rookie season. Maybe he wins rookie of the year. Hey, Cooper Flag’s not allowed to be the guy. He could have injuries. He could bust. Who the heck knows? But if Harper, my point here is if Harper becomes the player that we’re all hoping he can be, then our back court is Harper and Castle plus Wendy. Is that our next big three? And if that happens, then that means we can trade Darren Fox maybe for a similar return. He’s still young. He’s going to be 28 next season. Maybe we trade him after two years, maybe three, I don’t know, but maybe one if things get crazy and we get a similar return. Or maybe even better. Yeah, his stats were down a little bit last season. He was also injured the entire year. We haven’t seen a full unlocked maximum potential Darren Fox in San Antonio. I can’t wait to see that this season with an offseason with the team, an offseason with WBY, and a healthy healthy hand. Most importantly, he injured his thumb on his shooting hand, I believe. Did he not? Wasn’t that the injury? That hand’s kind of important in basketball. Okay, best case scenario. Harper’s the guy. We trade Fox in the future. Get a nice call for him. Great. Worst case scenario, this is the one that really hit me this weekend, Spurs fans, is I was playing out these scenarios in my head. What’s the worst case scenario? Dylan Harper’s a bust. Okay, could happen. His game might not translate to the NBA. Also injuries as well. Worst case scenario, if he’s a bust, we still have a back court of Darren Fox and Stefon Castle. To me, that’s a win-win. No matter what happens, drafting him second overall, we’re either going to have Harper and Castle as our back court or we’re going to have Fox and Castle or maybe something happens to Castle and our back court’s Fox and Harper. What? However it plays out, I see this as a win-win situation. It’s got me sitting back here going, you know what? This is better than I thought it was. This is a win-win. No matter how it played out, okay, I’m on board. Draft Dylan Harper second overall. You know, I had those I was one of those was like, you know, do we do we more draft fit? Do we trade it? But you know what? I’m all in drafting him second overall. The question I have for you Spurs fans, do you agree with the scenarios I’ve given? And sure, there’s probably other scenarios, too, that this is a win-win. Or are you still in the thinking, TSR, we don’t need more guards. We’ve drafted plenty in the last, we’ve drafted plenty. We need fit over best player available. And that comes with that comes with some baggage because we’ve seen teams, you guys have talked about it a lot the last few days, that have drafted fit over best player available, and it is absolutely blown up. All right, there’s that scenario. best player available fit. Or are you still in the mindset we got to trade the second pick? We got to trade for Giannis. We got to trade for KD or trade down. Spurs have a lot of options. And that’s one thing that I’ve said a lot over the last week. We have Bri, not we, Brian Wright and the team, Brian Wright and Pop, the Spurs, they have options. They can draft the best player available. They can trade for a great player. Who the heck knows? No matter what they do, I’m going to trust the process as you guys say and expect them to make the best decision for the team. Me personally, I think they’re going to draft Dylan Harper and I see Darren Fox trade in two to three years and it’s we’re going to get something good for him and it’s exciting time to be a Spurs fan. So, that’s what I got on the Spurs. I do want to quick channel update. Some of you saw I uploaded a Yankee short last night. Hey, there go Yankees. I’ll try to do that when I can. I just happen to have the Subway series on last night. I think it was on ESPN and I caught that the bases were loaded. So I I did film every one of Aaron Judge’s pitches and he ended up striking out and I was not ready for the first pitch Beller Grand Slam. I I barely got the record button in time and next thing I know I’m like, “Oh my gosh, I guess I’m uploading this and my playbyplay was just me acting crazy because I didn’t really know what else to do at the moment.” So I’ll try to do those when possible. I don’t have Yes Network. I can’t see all the Yankees games, but they’re on Amazon frequently. when they’re on ESPN or Fox or whatever network, I will certainly, you know, if I’m not doing anything, not doing anything miss TSR or not watching NBA game or or what comic booky thing, whatever, there’s a big, you know, gamechanging situation where the Yankees can lose on a home run or win on a home run or if there’s a grand slam situation. I’ll try to catch those when possible. And another channel update, and this is a good one for those you at the lottery last week on Monday, my mic cut out when it was announced that the Spurs got the top four pick. I got really loud. out. I got excited and the mic cut out. I was like, I got to fix this. This is happening all the time ever since I got the new mic. Is it the new mic? I did a lot of research. I thought it was some settings in OBS. Turns out it’s not. The reason the mic was cutting out was not the mic or OBS which I recorded with. It was Windows 11. Windows 11 has some settings already made for your inputs. And one of them apparently was limiting the amount of input, if you will, the volume that the microphone would take in. So if I got too loud or or Miss TSR got too loud, if anything got too loud, TS Bear, the mic was going to cut off. Well, I shut all that off. It’s just in one package. It was something like I don’t remember what it was called, but I know when I shut that off, it went to OBS and record. I yelled a couple times and it picked it up. It distorted a little bit, but I was like, seriously, Windows Windows 11? Really? That’s all I got Spurs fans. But I want to give you guys an update, too, cuz I’m excited about not losing the audio during, you know, huge situations, game-winning threes, etc. And then, you know, you guys are sent me just that just looks ridiculous. So, like, comment, subscribe, you know, all that good stuff. Really curious on your thoughts on the scenarios I played out. Do you agree, disagreeing? Thank you. And as always, go first go. [Music] I stay.

The 2nd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft gives the Spurs so many options and a bright future!

  1. Maybe I am looking through this with my Spurs goggles on but I think we are going to be a great spot over the next few years. Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

  2. If spurs get Harper, they are only 1 backup Center and 1 SF away from being 4th in the western conference

  3. For the people talking about ā€œfitā€. Castle would be the one traded over Harper! Love Castle, good player, but Harper could be a multi time all-star

  4. Anytime you have a top 2 pick i think you should go for best player available because chances are theyll be pretty good. I think we should only consider best fit if weve got a 5th pick or upwards. I like the young core weve got, and while we have a couple of guards, i dont think its the end of the world if we get another one which happens to be very promising

  5. I think we already got it made I would not push it. We already have the demigod of the nba I think our future is locked

  6. There are enough minutes to go around for three guards. Get a defensive minded center with the 14 pick or sign a free agent center.

  7. Doesn’t make sense for Spurs to trade Fox a player for 1 wanted to be here 2 don’t trade a player you trade for. He’s a young vet in his prime Castle needs older vet to help

  8. Sorry! But De'Aaron Fox Stays At One More Season Got To See What He Can Do With Full Season Being Healthy! šŸ€šŸ‘

  9. It’s like people don’t realize you play more than 5 players in a game.

Harper would get on the floor even with Fox and Castle

  10. draft Harper, Fox retires a Spur, trade Vassell & Branham +? for LM (this seems to be the player I want a Spur more than expensive af Giannis)

  11. The lack of fit argument is so overblown. Castle and Harper are both big enough to guard most 3’s, and both have shown success off the ball already (Harper’s at 37% at Catch and Shoot 3’s). Great video!

  12. It fits so good that Harper could be Fox back up, or if fox ask for too much could be the replacement i say we could use Castle as shooting guard if he ever debelopes a 3 pointer

  13. I don't get how peoples want the spurs to trade fox after alot of them was bitchin about oh the spurs better trade for fox the spurs would be stupid not to and now we got fox now ya talking about trading a vet who only 27 years old for a rookie who haven't set foot in the NBA yet like yeah he was good for one year in college like c'mon ya know the nba is a different level, I hope he succeed but to do fox like that is wild smh.

  14. I would take Harper but there are definitely more worse case scenario’s than those you outlined but they don’t come into play until the moment Fox signs that extension. He needs to be great. Like 2022-23 Fox. Anything less, that contract won’t be as nearly easy to move as you think if they need to.

  15. ..I think if the team stays healthy…I'm saying they win 50+ Games top 5 seed…and fox and wemby will be all stars…I think the core stays together this season even vassell…and we draft Dylan Harper…why would we trade fox at any point regardless if Harper is good…

  16. Dylan will not be a bust , he just need to play a lot of minutes to develop. He for sure better then castle with the upside

  17. Another great side of not trading for a big star is that we're keeping those future picks, and the 26 ATL swap, the 27 ATL pick, and lately even the 28 BOS swap are all looking pretty good. Go Spurs go!

  18. Why not bring Harper off the bench for now and o improve our depth? 3 out of the 4 teams remaing have a lot of homegrown players that are young and play defense. They also have depth. I say we follow that thet path and keep developing through the dradt. I wouldn't trade for Giannis if we have give up a lot of players

  19. This team made Timmy, Kawhi, Manu & Tony work. Don't know why Spurs fans think they can't find a way to make Wemby, Castle, Harper & Fox work.

  20. I like Fox but if we need to use max contract for his renewal…I’m not quite sure whether he deserves it…if he is joker, giannis…I know it’s max contract

  21. Rumor is because Coach Mitch is with Clutch sports, and Fox so Cluth sports will start to bring in his clients to the spurs.

  22. There is not a good enough Big to trade down from Harper. We take Harper at 2, the far and away best player at 2. Fox may hit a wall in his early 30's, start to lose his quickness. Steve Nash sat behind Kevin Johnson and Jason Kidd, then became a 2 time MVP.

  23. Ron Harper said he’d like to see his son play for the Nets, because that’s where they’re from.

A lot of Spurs fans simply misinterpreted that to mean that he didn’t want his son to play for the Spurs.

  24. People only bring up Fox because he would get us so many assets in a trade.. it’s too early to trade anyone gotta see how these guys fit.. on paper we have a really bad roster cohesion wise .. being that no one can shoot or rebound besides Champini and Wemby respectively

  25. Did you see Givony's update on Cooper Flagg's feelings towards Dallas? Apparently, his camp and him are enthusiast about being selected by the Mavs… Here goes our hope for the Spurs to be able to trade for him 😢
