NBA LIVE! New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers GAME 1 LIVE | May 20, 2025 | Eastern Conf. Finals 2K25

It’s allowed him to do a little bit more. They’d like to see him do more aggressive. That’s Seakkum getting free for two. Towns battling with Turner. Encouragement from the crowd. That short hook is good. Super physical. Hold them off. Matine corner three drops over to Anobi. Won’t take the corner three. Instead drives, passes inside the Towns who nearly turns it over. gets it back inside and bench points so far in this one. Here is Bridges. Nice move and the fade away is Pure. Jackson making the catch through a double. Finds Walker outside. Beautiful ball movement. Matin C. Here’s Payne. Turns the corner. The land drops. Eight points for Jaylen Brunson. Hallebertton pocket pass Turner hanging bucket and the foul back in Anobi. Nice hands by Turner. Now it’s Brunson inside. Hart to fade away. They found themselves in a deficit to close this first half. Towns wide open. Bottoms the board. Nhard is also scoreless in this one and changes that with that lay. Bridges the fade away. Offensive rebound to Towns. He’s been aggressive on the glass. The short hook, but there’s familiarity. This isn’t far from home. Carl Anthony Towns who grew up a Knicks fan. That’s McConnell with the McBride over in the corner for Bridges with the assignment on Hart. Gives it over to Bridges. Stops on a dime. Pull up for three. Cash money inside topping in one motion. ISO on Anovi. Quality defender. Doesn’t matter. Mathan makes the play. Brunson for three. Yes. And our final score here at MSG. [Music] Thank [Music] [Music] you. [Music] [Music] Yeah, you [Music] [Music] Get ready. [Music] [Music] [Music] you think about the offensive approach we’ve seen so far for the Knicks? I I like how they’ve worked the ball inside, getting looks closer in there, and that really helps your offense. But I like that they’ve also emphasized the three-point line. That’s a big difference maker. And so he hits the technical free [Applause] throw to finds Bryant. Indiana moving the ball around. Shot clock at six. Here’s McConnell. And that one clearly a foul. gets the whistle and two shots coming up. The Pacers have shot just one free throw early, one for one in the [Applause] game. That one is off. [Applause] and he sinks the second. The Knicks leading by four. Now Bridges fires the three, drills the three-pointer. Bridges has got 11. Bridges has a lot of jobs for his team, but if he consistently knocks down three and add it to the list, pass to McConnell to the inside. Here’s Toppin. And then Toppin with the jam. And Topping getting a little bit fancy with the throw down that time. And that last look brought to you by the AT&T 5G Slam King. New York’s gotten two/3 of their three-pointers to fall tonight. They’re six of nine overall. Bridges pitch to [Applause] Payne. Now here’s Bridges. G right on him. Just fine on the clock. The shot from the low post is good. Bridges has got the lead up to seven now for New York. Yeah, so far the defense has not learned much from the lessons MueL is teaching him. There’s McConnell and Muel Bridges pulls it down. Venick shooting 61% showing all the indications of an offense that is locked in. Aua in the corner. Pass to Payne. Robinson. A screen on McConnell. Payne to the wing on the left. McBride bounce pass. Bridges outside. And here is a chew up. New York needs to get off a shot. Here’s Payne. A chance there to push it to double digits, but it’s off the mark. Hallebertton dashes to Bryant. Good. Five points in the game. Bryant doing some work on the inside. Nice soft touch from 10 ft and in. And here’s Bridges. He’ll bring it up for the New York Knicks leading by five. And the timeout called here by Tom Thibido. He wants to regroup and go over the [Applause] strategy. Towns, he’s checked in for the Knicks. OG Anobi comes in for Cameron Payne. Turner’s checked in for the Pacers. Andrew Nehard comes in for TJ McConnell. Indiana on D. Ridges with it. 13 points in the game. Pocket six to the paint and finished off by Robinson. Robinson is very fluid as a big and he comes off that pick ready to shoot. Allebertton deciding where to go with it. And Toppin throws it down. And for a big guy, Obie is quick off the floor. Just under three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. Nick Bride passes to Towns, takes it off the glass. Towns has got 13 points. And obviously his momentum from the last game has carried over here tonight. And the coach pretty smart for zoning in on him and giving him opportunities to stay with that confident play. That one’s in there. The New York lead is cut down now to just four in the basket from Hallebertton. Here’s McBride. He’s covered by Hallebertton for three. Bridges good. And the assist goes to Towns. Towns has got his sixth assist on the night. He’s going to force them to have to make adjustments. That’s number four in terms of triples in the half. Now here is Hallebertton. Nine points in the game so far. Turner passes Denise Smith. Allebertton [Applause] outside pass to Nemo over Bridges. A shot by Nehard. No good. And this has been an outstanding display on the board and it’s a big part of why they have a lead in this game. Doing the dirty work down low. The three Bridges Pacers with the rebound. Now here’s [Applause] Nesmith. East to [Applause] Hallebertton. Here’s Turner. Calls through. He’s now made two of four. Great decision from Tyrese Hallebertton and understands when he should look to set up his guy. The Knicks leading by five. McBride passes to Towns. Back to McBride. Bridges outside. It’s good from long range. Bridges has got 19 points. As hot as he’s been this quarter, the game plan is simple, folks. Get in the ball and get out of the way. And so it’s Rick Carw here calling timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. A different look for New York. Achua comes in for Robinson. And it’s Jaylen Brunson in for Bridges. Indiana also making some changes. Seakum is checked in for Choppin. Benedict Matthering comes in for Aaron Nesmith. And it’s TJ McConnell in for Hallebertton. Maththerin finds McConnell and Seakum throws it down. Yes, Spicy P getting up. New York’s gotten half their shots from three-point range to go down in the second quarter. Three of six from downtown. Some nice passing by New York here. Anobi passes to Brunson. Oh, musling it in. Brunson. And those are two points earned by Jaylen Brunson. Outside turner pass to Nemo. Siaka kicks to [Applause] McConnell. Siaka right side. Just four to shoot. That one falls through. It’s his sixth make from the four this game. Now six for 10. Well, another one for Pascal with his diverse offensive game. You’re just not going to take everything away from him. Anobi has the open look off the mark there with the three-point shot. And we haven’t seen them be quite as aggressive driving the basket, settling far too much for jumpers. And he’s an automatic finisher when he gets into that area. He is. And he picks the simple oneand stuff to get the two points. Here’s Brunson. The Pacers making the shot. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. And how about JB Jaylen Brunson since that free agent move in 2022 really raising the level of his play. That one falls for Brunson. Well, if you’re a basketball player through your entire basketball life, you’re going to hear coaches harp on you about free throws. It seems like Brunson has heard those messages loud and clear. Josh Hart, he’s checked in for the Knicks. Bridges comes in for Miles McBride. And he makes both free throws. At this point, you might as well go ahead and chalk up the points when he’s at the free throw line. Pretty much automatic. Turner with a screen on Hart. Outside Turner. McConnell against Prunston. Driving the lane. Indiana needs to get a shot off. Atheran for three. It’s hauled in by Carl Anthony Towns. Towns has got his fifth rebound in this one. And there’s the whistle. 3sec violation. Aaron Nesmith has checked in for TJ McConnell. Pacers trail by six. Here’s Nehard. Nine points in the game so far. Pass to E Smith. Now Turner defended by Towns. The shot by Turner, no good. And and and really credit their advantage on the back door. That’s where the lead has been built and that’s why they are in control. Anobi finds Towns. Brunson outside, shoots over Nemar, and that one released in time, but no good. And so it’s New York with their lead standing at six points here at the end of the quarter. They’re feeling very confident, shooting the ball with great efficiency and dictating the pace. We’ll take a quick break and then back to the action here. I like how they’ve been hitting the boards, man. Playing real hard. [Applause] That’s here we go heading back to the action here in the Eastern Conference Finals. What a game we’re seeing from Muel Bridges. Well, through the first two, he has been nothing short of a marksman from beat. Yeah, you would hope the defense at least would start to consider creeping up on him just a little bit. And so in the game for the Pacers, the perimeter pairing with Nemhard and Matin. Seakim is the four and he’ll be next to Turner at the five and it’s Hallebertton in at the one spot. Got it from 16 ft. Hallebertton’s got the first points of the third quarter up on the board for Indiana. New York leading by four. And here’s Brunson. That’s too hard. by [Applause] Seakum. Burton outside. Seakum against Mark. Seakum kicks to Hallebertton. Now him back to Hallebertton. Fires from deep. A score of the bucket. He’s made five so far shooting a very clean five of seven. Bottom line, you need shooters on your team who can space the floor. Oh, there’s no doubt he’s a legitimate threat from downtown and he’s demonstrating that in this game. Now, here’s Bridges. He’s got 19. Lebertton against Brunson. Outworking the defense again. Brunson. You always hear about the toughness of Brunson. really comes through when he’s taking defenders on inside. Pass to Nemo. Back to Hallebertton. [Applause] Can’t be overzealous with Hallebertton. And when you are, he embraces that. He got the whistle. The Bases shooting their fourth and fifth attempts at the free throw line tonight. [Applause] And the first one at the line is good. You know, young players who come into the league, you want to see if they can bring it every night. Allebertton has certainly fit that bill. [Applause] He hits one and misses one each at the line. I wonder what the score would be if they weren’t controlling the backboard. Towns no luck. Indiana trailing here. Neard. The pass to Hallebertton to Nehard. Bridges with the steel. Fast break. Here they come. Hanovia, good luck. Neard grabs the board. Pacer shooting an outstanding 53% for the game. Pass to Hallebertton. Act for the tie that falls. Nice feed that time from Hallebertton. Hallebertton’s got his eighth assist in the game. And here’s Brunson. He’ll bring it up for the New York Knicks. Now here’s Hart. Bridges. No one around him. Offline with his three. Yeah, the offense scuffling a bit to start this second half. Only one for the first [Applause] five for Hallebertton for the lead. Hallebertton gets rebounded by New York. Yeah, just the first miss of the half there. And they have to be having three or four to start it off. and foul on the shot. So, he’ll get a chance at the line. Something about the little guy willing to stick his nose in there. Brunson gets his team going with that kind of play. This is his second trip to the free throw [Applause] line. First free throw is good. And team wide, they’ve been terrific from the line here. Just one of those nights when the confidence has spread from one player to the next and both free throws good for Brunson. The Pacers have gone three to four so far in the third quarter from the field. Pretty good start to the half. And so it’s Rick Carw here calling timeouts. He wants to make some adjustments to the game plan clearly. [Applause] just under three and a half minutes played here in the third quarter. Anobi kicks to Towns the three-pointer. Towns has got 16 points. He’s got a lot to do with the position that they’re in. A very smart offensive performance tonight. Hallebertton against Brunson. And it’s Hallebertton missing. The Knicks leading by five. Now Brunson. He’s got 18. Bridges outside. The shots good on the assist by Brunson. Brunson’s got three assists in the game. Indiana’s gone one or two from beyond the arc since coming out of the break outside turn. Seakum deciding where to go with it. Good for his eighth field goal. He’s attempted a dozen shots. Two gritty points from Seakkum. That’s a tough one. Runs in the pass to an open. Now here’s Bridges Lamar covering and again for three and he is scorching hot right now. He could be on his way to setting a franchise postseason record with this shooter. He’s caught fire at the right time for this team. Stepped up big in the postseason for him passes to Siako trying to answer back but that three is off the mark. The Knicks leading by nine to the inside and stolen by Zakum. Pass to [Applause] Nemo. Hallebertton outside. Turner with a screen for Hallebertton. Five to shoot. Towns with the steal. Here’s the break. Here’s Bridges. And again, it’s New York. And look at how the hustle game has been going for New York. They have been a wrecking ball defensively, coming up with steals, being active with their hands, and just doing a terrific job of disrupting. Another part of the credit has to go to what they did on the inside, blocking shots. I mean, super scrappy defensively and just affecting a lot of the opportunities that their opponents were putting up. These are his third and fourth free throw attempts of the game. The first free throw is good. So valuable to this team. Hallebert gives them whatever they need when they need it. This guy is both patient and prolific. The Knicks making a switch here. Robinson’s checked in. Kobe Toins checked in for the Pacers. Aaron Kneesmith comes in for Benedict Matin. Now here’s Bridges. 27 points for him. Outside Towns Robinson with it. And it’s Toppin picking him up. Brunson. That’s a two-pointer. It’s rebounded by N Smith. His touch from mid-range, that’s almost always good. That won’t shake his confidence. To Hallebert and here is four on the shot. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. That one is on Towns. Oh, great scorer and passer. Defenses have to respect both. And he fooled him there with the pump fake. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And he makes the first. Such a headscratcher. To think that Pascal Seiakum started playing this game at the age of 17 really speaks to his work ethic. Catching up on the changes for New York. Aua comes in for Towns and Miles McBride subbed in for Josh Hart. The Pasers also changing it up. Shepard’s checked in for Andrew Nehar. And it’s TJ McConnell in for Hallebertton. And one of the problems in the first half that shotty work at the free throw line. They needed to fix that and they’ve been much improved since the break. Oh, Brunson got hit and still made it go. As much as you like Jaylen Brunson, he believes in himself more than you do. Confidence [Applause] translate. Screen on Robinson. And Miguel Bridges pulls it down. And here’s Bridges. He’ll bring it up for New York. Here’s Brunson and off the glass. That one’s good. And now an 11-point Knicks lead. And that’s where Brunson gets a lot of his baskets. He just thrives in the mid-range. Toen sets a screen for Seakum over Robinson and the shot goes in from Seakum. Seakum’s got 21. Playing from behind right here. Not easy, but he is answering the bell. Yeah. doing anything he can right now to get his team to cut into this lead and give them a chance. Now here’s Brunson. He’s got 22. Shoots. No good that time. Pacers trail by nine. Pass to McConnell. It’s rebounded by New York. Brunson surveying the D. Latrey. Brunson with another [Applause] miss. McConnell with [Applause] it. It’ll count and oh, he hits the buzzer beater. resourceful move there, ending the period on a high note. Great way to end. And that does it for the third quarter. Both teams clicking offensively as we approach the fourth quarter. Knicks lead by seven. Hey, it’s all about it’s all about who’s working. And we’re ready to get back into the action here in game one. Let’s see what this quarter has in store for us. Mitchell Robinson out there with Towns. Then it’s Payne. Then it’s OG and an Obi. And it’s McBride in at the two guard. That’s the five for New York right now. Now here’s Payne. He’s covered by McConnell. Launches it from deep and the rebound goes to the Patriots. Toppins got four rebounds now tonight. Hallebertton in the corner. McBride with the ball. Hallebertton picks him up trying to get off is Robinson. Well, not only is he fast, he’s very strong. So stopping Ananobi, it’s not always easy. That’s good from Anobi. Both free throws good from Anobi. Impeccable hook from the line since halftime. Now here is Hallebertton defended by McBry down low. Stolen by Robinson. Here’s Towns. Score that one for him. His eighth field goal. Eight for 11 on a very accurate night. And you see Big Cat has the size and coordination. Hard to bump him out of his rhythm. Now here is Hallebert defended by McBride. It’ll go and the Knick lead is cut down now to just eight points with the basket from Choppin. And for the Knicks they’re shooting 56% in this game. Really stringing quality possessions together offensively. Here’s Payne. And they wasted no time getting those three points back. And the Knicks lead by 11. and Payne coming right back delivering his own triple. Now here is Hallebert defended by McBride. Now here is Hallebert. The rebound by McBride. They have been board dominant in this game. That’s definitely been a factor in cracking this huge lead. Pass to Payne. Here’s Towns. [Applause] Robinson sets a screen for Towns. Five on the clock. Toppin pulls it in. Toppins got five rebounds tonight. Now here’s Nesmith. Defense is right there. McConnell passes to Hallebertton. Good. And McConnell gets the assist. Hallebertton’s got it back down to single digits for the Pacers. New York has gone one and two from three-point range here in the fourth to the left side wing. Towns down low. Tapping covering and the dunk by Towns. And this is what Towns is capable of. He’s an incredibly gifted offensive weapon who can score at all three levels. And so it’s Rick Carw here calling timeout. And that timeout by coach was carefully measured, wanting to make sure that everybody is on the same page here. So for the Knicks, Josh Hart, he’s checked in for Towns. Male Bridges comes in for Miles McBride. And it’s Jaylen Brunson in for Cameron Payne. The Pacers also with the sub. Neard’s checked in. Right now, I’d send it over to the sidelines and get a report from David Aldridge. Hey Kevin, I heard Rick Carlile during that last break talking with the team. He told them you can do a lot of great things out there and still lose if you don’t take care of the boards. I want to see more effort game rebounding everyone involved. That was his only focus. Thank you, David. Hallebertton against Princeton. Howallebertton passes to Brian. He gets that one. Not getting old here. Seeing him make that lead pass with perfect timing. The Knicks leading by [Applause] 11. Brunson kicks to Robinson. Pass to Anobi for the three. Neard grabs the board. Near got his fourth rebound in this one. And thus far they’ve managed to overcome an off game from him offensively. Hallebertton passes to Chopin. Doesn’t get it to drop for good D by Anobi. Pass to Brunson. Hard against Toppen inside and Robinson throws it down. And that’s Mitchell Robinson’s attitude. Anywhere around the rim, he’s going to rock it. And here is Bryant. And he gets the basket. Officials blowing the whistle. So a chance at the line for one more. Even though they’re still trailing, he continues to be lights out from the field. What a competitor. Earl Anthony Towns checked in for Robinson. Then for the Pacers, Pascal Seakum comes in for Choppin and it’s Benedict Matan in for Aaron Nith. Bryant no good on the free throw. Yeah, I like that they haven’t lost their aggressiveness here in the second despite being down. out to Brunson and the call on the shot that sends in to the line. Might have been a little force from Grunten, but he gets in there to get the foul. [Applause] No good on the free throw. Turner’s checked in for Indiana. [Applause] Good job. Good on the second free throw. And the Pacers with possession here. A 12-point game. Hallebertton against [Applause] Brunson. Turner with a screen on Brunson. Towns with the steel. Pass to Hart and stolen by Seakum. And here’s the fast break. Seakum leading the way. Here’s Turner. He’s guarded by Anovi. Shots good by Turner. A big like Turner just using that height inside. It’s almost a lost art. And here’s Bridges. He’ll bring it up for the New York Knicks. 13 points was their biggest lead in the game. New York moving it around. Hallebertton against Brunson. Five to shoot. [Applause] The first one falls. and good on the second. So he makes them both and Rick Carile decides to call timeout. He’s not taking any chances and wants to huddle him up right away. Pacers trail by [Applause] 12. Allebertton outside. We’ve got 155 left to play here in the fourth. And that’s going to be a travel. And that is just a deflating error on his part. Yeah, he knows he shouldn’t have made it. And that’s just really overall a frustrating sequence that hopefully doesn’t stick with him. Here’s [Applause] Brunson. Pass to Towns. Bridges outside. Brunson against Hallebertton. And there’s the foul. It’s on Jaylen Brunson. That’s foul number two for him. Great defense there. Anticipated the play and got there first. Pacers trail by 12. Here’s Hallebertton on the wing. Mathin had a chance there to cut it to single digits, but it’s off target grabs the miss. Indiana’s gone two or three in the fourth quarter from long range. Good shooting so far. in the hand. If ever there were a way to kick off the NBA Conference Finals, this is it. Going to be a table setting victory here in game one for the Knicks. And it may be a comfortable win for it, but you know, they had to weather a few storms along the way. And that’s all part of the story. Yeah, Kevin, this was by no means the runaway that it might appear to be. It was a scrappy performance though all the way through and they open these conference finals with a forceful performance to take the early lead in the series. Yeah, they they talked about sending a message here in game one and no doubt about it, they delivered that message loud and clear. It’s obvious who has the upper hand going forward in this series. And what a tremendous standout performance it was for Meliss. It looked like a couple times they might be wearing him down, but not the case. At the offensive end, he was just devastated. McConnell passes to Chompin. Now here’s Nmith. He’s guarded closely. Topin sets a screen from McConnell. Down to five on the shot clock.
