Jalen Brunson & Josh Hart on Knicks playoff rematch against Pacers: ‘It’s a totally different team’

For the most part. What we like
to keep everything in house Not really, not really talking about like obviously not. Revealing our entire whatever to the public. But there’s a lot of misconceptions
misconceptions about everyone and that’s fine. It’s a control of
you can control. And then Let whoever talk about whatever
they want to talk about. No, he doesn’t. He should but he doesn’t balance accomplishment. I think it’s a I think it was very important
and great for the friends too. Have our backs and celebrate the
way they did but for us we know there’s a long
way to go and so we don’t really look at it as an
accomplishment. It’s just a the next step and we’re
grateful thankful but we know there’s a long way to go. Conference and these lines here,
and then you end up in a WWE ring experience each other
day, and now you can each other
again, one chance to go to the NBA finals. Little ones.
It’s that we, that we have a
script to this season. And number two,
just for you would like to be matched up with him and have the history that you guys
have meetings yesterday. Yeah, yeah, WWE. They were cooking when they did
that, but um, it’s it’s it’s a great
opportunity. T. Didn’t really know, Tyrese until
we played like, USA bass. We got a
renewal of each other great player. He’s done a lot.
He’s quieted a lot of people. He’s obviously their engine and
they go as he goes and he does a lot for their team, so it’s
going to be tough task, but I think as a team we should I
sit together and do what we do and control you can control but happy obviously for success. But this is, like I said, this
is a new challenge for us. You guys are going to meet again
with this soon know that night, obviously a lot of it’s
coincidental. But um, and I was totally different from
obviously we’re about to go through, but that was I think
there’s a cool experience for both of us and Something that you psych check
off for your bucket list. It was a really cool experience to
be a part of that. I mean it was, it was fitting
and so he played well in the garden,
obviously Knicks fans and Pacers fans, it go back and forth but um, I think he I think he did a
great job. You’ve been getting a great job with it last year
and I was just, but now I’m moving on. I mean not much my grandson. Absolutely. I think it’s a great great experience and
something that as a kid, like you dream of being a part of
something like that. I got a call from a man named Paul, who’s a
very well-known man, and Ideas bounce around here. And
then they we were, yeah, obviously, the way we
played Michelle, we had the ability to do it. We’re gonna have to Communicate talk and do
everything I do against this team to because they’re going to
run their going to play fast on makes and misses and that’s just in the DNA. And then, It’s like I said it’s gonna be a
long way to go. We got to have each other’s back. We got
to stick together, nothing’s going to be perfect. But are I
mean, I talk and energy and everything has to be
consistent. Our team, no one really cared just Josh, I think he deserved it but um I’m happy. He’s okay. We know we have the ability and
so on I don’t say it’s frustration it just gives us a
chance to look back and like guys like
you know we can do this and so for sure she know but like If you know what you’re capable
of and so it sets the bar. He’s got continue to play at that
level and especially against this team.
It’s going to be a challenge for us, but we have to do it. Once you have a label, it’s hard to shed that label. And now I think this whole, you know, I don’t even want really want to
call it. A run, is just too serious. But you know, those two
series he showed that he’s willing to adapt. He’s really
going to change. He’s willing to To you know, do different different
things that is used to and I’ll see that’s a willingness on his end. The trust and belief in his
players. So I just think, you know, everyone give him a label and
they just run with that label since, you know, for last 10-15
years. But I think the last two series
shows his ability to adapt and change when necessary. Another year, another series, you know, Yahoo right whatever
y’all want. You know, they’re gonna make it into, you know, over
been staying or something like that. But but, you know, I mean a half after team didn’t play
last year, they were hurt Jude on Tate and I hear anymore as
he’s not here anymore, you got cat Kel. I was you was
hurt. You know, it’s a totally different team, totally
different situation, totally different round of the playoffs, so we
just got to make sure we’re ready. That’s that’s a
extremely. Talented team, whose offense clicking? It also
knows right now. So nothing about revenge or
anything. It’s just about next
series. Did it bother me? I mean at the end of the day, if you
win, you know, you can raise. Can’t do what you want. I mean, I think everybody’s
different everybody Embraces being in that Spotlight
differently. So that’s how I want to do it.
Cool, but for me, I don’t know. Obviously those,
it was a tough tough series for us physically, especially know, I game, seven,
I was You know her and couldn’t play
how I wanted to. So is that, you know, something me
for a little bit. But the end of the day I knew I gave
everything I possibly could have given so There’s obviously you know, a
lot of talented guys and expressing that fourth quarter, you know, guys like Shay and
yogic and all that. But I think his ability to rise to the
occasion, his ability to want the ball to
make the proper play. In late, game situations is unmatched, you know, so he’s one of the
guys like okay, if we get Now we’re even if we’re down if
we’re if we’re all a couple possession game, in other words
and the fourth quarter repair, extremely confident, because we got guys, going to make plays
defensively and then he’s got to make the proper play
offense early, whether that scoring or, you know,
drawing to getting Guys open shots of those kind of things.
So, you know, I think, you know,
Reggie was right on that. I think he’s most clutch player
than we are right now, and we’re happy, aren’t you? Not not, not really challenged know. Y’all have heard me say
all year, you know, you know everything was are about being a
Boston Celtics, you know, they were this they were that and it was always just, you
know, being who we are being the best, we can be because then you get when you’re
so focused on beating Boston or beating you know a
certain opponent you know when you do beat them
then it’s you know you’re on top. You feel
like you’re on top of a mountain and now you have to
try to figure out What to do next for us? It never was that it was
always next game. Next series be the
best team you can be at the end of the season. So when you have that mentality,
you’re not really focused on one opponent or being, you know, on top of world and, you know,
and wins and values and lawsuits. So I don’t
think it would be a challenge. Obviously, they’re extremely
talented team and that would be a challenge,
but I don’t think the Situations of beating Boston
and, you know, it’s gonna be a challenge. Yeah, you know, WWE wrote a great
script so it’s going to be a lot of guys
is going to be trying to get on WWE to Summer. But now I mean it there are two
of the best point guards that not just in the East but in In the league and there’s going to be fine. They
both had two different playing Styles, I was JB scoring got more of a scoring guard Tyrese.
You know, run that offense guys, involved pushes the paste, those kind of
things so there’s going to be no back in back and forth, match
up, you know, chest, you know, chess game. But both gods are extremely talented as he just playing with the damn
door. Look forward to that. Trusting each other, communicate at a high level when God is tired as Force up. And, you know, it’s just about I think I think so. I think know when there’s playoff time,
you know, you want to do everything, it takes to win and I think you saw that, you know, and all you know all over the place the last
couple you know, series obviously that makes one huge
mix possession that he kind of rotated. Everyone. You know he rotated it one guy somewhere
already stepped up for him and it was just, you know, a domino
effect. So everybody wants to win. We’re locking on that were
communicating at a Higher level. And I think the
last two games are the Boston series, you know, without Tatum,
they were moving the ball a little bit faster.
They’re running quicker and forced us to communicate at a higher
level. And I think that’s something I
can help us going into this series where
Indiana Obviously you know, the Houston
with the switching part. I think one of the games we came
out and we were very soft in our switches and
people thought we changed our coverage and like we didn’t
change it. We just we were just terrible at executing it at the
Players. That’s one. I don’t want to say too many
more but you know, we got a hot, you
know, show some of our cars. But his disability to, you know, switching and
obviously you know, some of the started recorded, put the
ball in the couch here and he’s going or you know, when guys are hot,
leave them in or making those tough decision on rotation. So you know, like I said, you got
to give him a lot of credit because he’s giving us a great
game plan on making sure we’re prepared. And you know, he’s just deserves a
lot of credit.
