The Devin's contract is an amazing asset. His contract is long (up to 2029) and his salary in his last two years will be a sixth man' one (13% of the cap).
As soon as the Spurs will put him on the trade market, they will surely receive tons of offers.
But they also could keep him in the long-term to become their sixth man. But I doubt that it will be his own will…
If Fox, Castle and Harper are in the team and if Devin won't leave, he will mechanically lose playing time (Castle and Harper will need playing time to be developped). Even if he is the starting SG, he shouldn't play more than 20/25 minutes per game (such as Keldon this season).
But Devin can also be an asset this summer to get a 3&D vet PF (which is by far the most needed requirement in the Spurs' team !!!).
As examples, we could have an exchange with the Nets (Cam Johnson versus Devin Vassel), an exchange with the Jazz (John Collins versus Devin Vassel), an exchange with Minnesota (Naz Reid or Jaden McDaniels versus Devin Vassel),…
I would keep Blake Wesley as third PG option. He shown that he can bring high pace to the second unit.

Sochan can be our backup PF and is a very good defensive tool out of the bench (to defend on Luka or on Shai for example).
A cheap and old vet backup Center can be found at the free agency and another center can be drafted with our second round pick (we can even trade our second round pick and one or two 2026 second round picks (we still have plenty) to move up in this draft to be sure to draft the 7footer we want !).
Finally Mamu can come back in the rotation.
But what about Keldon Johnson ?? I am afraid that he could continue to lose playing time next season… 17.5M$ to play less than 15 minutes ??
Trade Fox and Devin for Flagg. These 2 players would fit and match the more mature team of Dallas for an immediate run at a title. And the Spurs get Flagg.

Money isn’t an issue rn to say you HAVE to trade vassell. You won’t have to give wemby money for 2-3 years by then the salary cap will increase and vassell contract will be more in line with 6th man money keep him he will be a great spark plug off the bench.
I hope NOT, I like Vassell, he is a great role player. Pick someone else and not KJ or Castle, or Sochan. Hell just leave the team alone.😂😊😅

Vassell's salary is like 27-30M (with insentives), 30M is not a small number if we're having big fish coming in or renewing Fox, Wemby+ Castle in the future. So I guess his contract and KJ (19-20M) are gonna be quite interesting for many teams as they're decent player but not hurting the cap much like Kuzma's. For touching cap teams like Nuggets ,Bucks( which has NO first rounder this year) ,or those are in apron /luxury tax zone or out of trading asset like picks – Suns or Clips ,GSW , DV and KJ's contract with some picks(which we can't use all of them anyways) would be very interesting for many of those teams. I don't think Harper should be a starter by now, at least he has to prove himself in NBA level of his shooting first, there are countless great NCAA players become a bust in NBA, we can't be too hyped yet. We need a new Manu which we're very lack of right now, and if he proves he can be one, then we talk about starting him.

When Devin Vassell is on he's ON. A problem with him that Clan the Spurs Fan on his channel has identified is his tendency to undershoot, not be aggressive on offense and take open shots. He has a penchant for making difficult shots but can disappear on offense.

The Spurs should definitely keep Wemby, Stephon Castle, Aaron Fox, Barnes, and especially take Harper for the second pick. Dylan Harper. He can replace the very mediocre options we currently have: Vaissel, Johnson, Champagny, and all the rest. This guy will soon be as strong and lethal as Oklahoma City Thunder' SGA or New York Nicks' Brunson. But he wants him to stick with Stephon Castle, as a left-handed guard. Fox and Paul at point guard (Cris Paul, assistant coach?). Cris Paul should be retained, especially for the transfer of his fabulous skills to these two young guards, to further refine their games. And then focus with the rest and pick 14 on strengthening the defense, to obtain a true backup for Wemby. As much as possible, strategically replenish the stock of pick rights over the next two years (lottery picks)! Recruiting big players, like Giannis or KD, will break this budding alchemy.
