Cooper Flagg to the DALLAS MAVERICKS! | MAVERICKS vs WARRIORS | NBA 2K26 Wish List (IN DESCRIPTION)
NBA action is coming up. And on tap tonight, it’s the Dallas Mavericks going up against the Golden State Warriors. Here in Chase Center, this is Kevin Harland alongside Brent Barry and Greg Anthony. We’ve got David Aldridge reporting from the sideline. As the playoffs near, let’s take a look at the Western Conference standings. Take a look at the Warriors. They’re in seventh and looking to hold on to that seed for the playoffs. And checking out Dallas just a few spots below there. And you know, for the Mavericks, they’ve shown me some very good things this season. But that next step, those qualities that could make them true contenders just haven’t been there. Now, you just don’t want to sit in the middle for too long. You either want to be competing against the top teams or starting to strategize where you can position yourself for a high lottery pick and maybe turn around your franchise’s fortunes. Now, a look at Galison’s starting lineup. Irving is out there with Clay Thompson. And there’s Davis. Then it’s Derek Lively. And for Golden State in the back court, we’ll see Curry and Poachki. Then it’s Green. Then it’s Heel. There has been a lot of discussion about the length of the NBA season. GA. Do you think 82 games is the right number? I do. It’s worked well for over 50 years. So why change it? And if we do change it, it affects records and how we compare the game across the earth. And so it’s the Mavericks getting on the board first with the drive from Deep Green. Thompson with the rebound. So for Dallas, their last game, a loss to the Grizzlies. Now here is Irving. He’s defended by PMski. lets it go with a three and it’s Kyrie Irving with the three. And that is just money from Kyrie. He’s so dangerous from outside the three-pointer. And the latest now from our sideline reporter David Aldridge. David, it’s all yours. Take it away. Well, I talked with head coach Steve Kerr. Now, coach immediately recognized the many talents of Kyrie Irving. One thing he pointed out was not losing Irving on defense. Coach said Irving is just as dangerous without the ball. We can’t let him get behind us. We have to make sure someone is on him at all times. Back to you. Thank you, David. Here’s Lively after the Warriors pick up three. Davis, the pass to Irving trying to come right back with the three of his own. It’s no good. Irving with the steel. Pass to Wively. Oh, boom. He jams it straight down. And how about just floating to the rim on that slam. Boy, when he gets up, I mean, he gets up. Here’s Curry. And that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. And many around the league believe Curry doesn’t get enough fouls called in his favor. Uh GA, what do you think? There could be some truth to that. He gets held and grabbed more than anyone when running off screens, but especially blatant on drives to the [Applause] rim. That’s good from Stephen Curry. With so many years in the NBA, you would think Curry would slow down, wouldn’t you, Brent? But he remains at the very top of his game. I think the best part about what we’re seeing with Steph right now, Kevin, is his competitive will. You get to this age and you get to this stage after accomplishing all the things that Steph has done and it’s still not enough. So, let’s keep enjoying him while we can. Well, we know GA, the Mavs are so adept at hunting the matchups they want. They’re patient and methodical. They they never look like they’re in a rush, right? Even when you send a double or trap the ball, the Mavs stay calm and know where to go. It’s what made slowing down their pick and roll so difficult. Now here’s Curry following the miss by Anthony Davis. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. Here’s Irving and he uses the glass on the lane. Irving’s got five now. Kyrie constantly beating his defenders and so good in those tight quarters with the basketball. Outside Green pass to Heel off to a good start as he hits his first shot attempt. Can’t talk enough about the subtleties in that setup right there. The assist really the key to that entire sequence. Here’s Irving. He’s got five. [Applause] Green with the block. Green plays with tremendous edge on the defensive end of the floor. And he makes the bucket, gets the whistle, and now a three-point play chance here for him. Yeah, terrific play right there. Great strength to finish with the contact. Brent, when I think of those title teams of the Golden State Warriors, clearly you think of the Curies and Thompson and and and maybe at the top of that list, the importance of Draymond Green. Well, there’s no doubt, Kevin, that the lean on for Golden State defensively and to be as good as they were on that end of the floor falls on the shoulders and the very capable ones of Draymond Green. I mean, he took on all challengers and elevated the confidence of players like Steph and Clay. So Draymond’s defense elite and leading to Titans. Irving passes to Lively. Dallas moving it around. The offensive rebound. Not loose. Here’s Curry. And that won’t go. Missing the go-ahead bucket. And they’re running. And a lot of contact on that one. So he’ll shoot two here. One is on heel. You know what? You allow a guy to get right to the rim like that. That’s your only option. The Mavericks shooting their first free throws of the game right now and their success rate on the season right around [Applause] 77%. The first free throw is good. It seems likely that the Warriors title run under Steph Curry Brent has probably come to a close. Yeah, I’m not going to count Steph Curry out quite yet, Kevin, but you know, they have added some quality youngsters. They’re trying to grow that group. How fast can they bring those kids along to championship caliber players? That’s the big question. They’re going to win their share of games. Good on both. So, it’s the Warriors now trailing by two. Last time they met was right here and they came out with the win. And the last meeting of these two teams, they were really sharp defensively, disrupting the flow of their offense and causing a ton of turnovers. It was definitely that defense that carried them to that huge win that night. You have to figure they’ll be primed to wreak even more havoc here in this one. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Cer. This will give him a chance to discuss some potential alterations. Now we get a chance to check out some stats for Anthony Davis. There’s been a drop off in the rebounding numbers. He seems to be getting out muscled on the glass in a way we didn’t see earlier in the season. His last 10 games, the totals have taken a huge hit. Pajki finds Greenski with it. He’s covered by Irving. Six to shoot. Here’s Pajki. He’s covered by Irving. That’s a tough rebound if you don’t have the length that he does. So, the size paying off. They set the pick. covered by Heel. Pass to Davis. Second chance effort and the layup is up and in. In the league of guys who are extremely long, AD still stands out. And here’s Field. He’ll bring it up for the Golden State Warriors. Four-point game coming off that loss against the Timberwolves. Yeah, I mean on the road their defense was just overrun. Couldn’t match the intensity of the opponent and it cost them. Well, let’s hope there isn’t any carryover from that let down in this one. Here’s Wely taking a look at his stats. He’s averaging around nine and a half points a game. Outside Irving Davis kicks to Thompson. shoots over Curry. Thompson misses. You’re not going to see that very often. Plenty of space, but he just was basically miss. The shot by Curry. No good. Mavericks leading by [Applause] four. Thompson surveying the floor. Pass to Irving. And here is Davis. Shoots over Curry. And it’s Davis missing. He’s not very hard to defend right now. This is when the defense might step back. Let him try to find his range. It’s deflected. Irving attacking. Greg, you love this topic more than anyone. When you think about the best ball handlers of all time, where does Kyrie Irving rank on your list? Well, you know, I think Kevin, he’s at the very top. I’ve never seen anyone else pull off some of the things he does. Certainly makes a strong case for the best effort [Applause] and he makes the first. It’s got to be something else to be a teammate of Irvings. What a generational talent. [Applause] [Applause] And so Irving nails both of them. A great player on a great role at the charity strike. The D has got to be careful about being too aggressive on him and sending him back for freebies. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He wants a minute here to get things straightened out with his team. Time to get loud and make. There’s a break in the action. So, let’s now take a look at the teams with the highest field goal shooting percentage. The real stats, the real scores from the real NBA. Fifth, the Mavericks. So patient on the offensive end. I mean, they’re not going to force shots. And it’s that selectiveness that’s yielded such an impressive field goal percentage. [Applause] Some nice bassing by Golden State. The basket counts and one. They’ll go to the line with a chance to make it a three-point play. Good focus there from Steph Curry musling past the defense. Yeah, I said it. Musling to get the contact. He first personal foul. Third team foul at the line for the Warriors. Stephan Curry shooting. And guys, hold on now. I’m getting word. We have Sean’s Chirania calling in. Seams, what do you have for us, guys? Thanks. Well, Jimmy Butler is in the fifth stop of his NBA career. He’d been in the standoff with the Heat as they hesitated to extend him at the number he desired. He knew there’s going to be someone willing to pay up and guys, I’m very interested to see how Butler fits in his new offense. We’ll continue to track that story. All right, John, thanks a lot. Rebound by Marshall. And they’ve come out with a take no prisoners approach on the glass here tonight, guys. Irving dishes to Davis. Now here’s Marshall. He’s guarded closely. Been a chance here to check out some stats on Steph Curry. He’s been on a tear since the Allstar break. Going really to another level, eighth in scoring. And he’s in the top 20 in assists per game. His talent for creating easy buckets for his teammates. Such an asset. And it’s nice when you have the NBA’s best free throw shooter just keep the ball in his hands in clutch situations. He’s been completely automatic this season. That’s good for Marshall. Marshall hits them both. So, it’s the Warriors now trailing by five. Curry against [Music] Christ. Six on the shot clock. Pass to Payton. And it’s saved back by Irving. And that’s some crafting defense from Irving. Managing to see that shot coming. And that kind of stifling effort on defense. Needs another look. And guys, that is lock down defense at its finest going right at the shot. and then able to knock it away. Two on the clock, Peyton. That’s good. So was the Dallas Mavericks in their last game, a loss to the Grizzlies of Memphis. Here’s Davis. That one drops and he’s now two for five. Davis using his strength right there to overpower. He didn’t say that in the early part of his career. Payton outside. Oh, good with the triple. A team’s rebounding is a great measure of its energy and theirs has been terrific here in the first quarter. He’s such a gifted finisher. Once Kyrie gets inside, he knows he’s got you where he wants you. Here’s Payton following the basket by Kyrie Irving. Payton passes to Moody. Irving against Payton. Here’s Curry. That’s good. And it’s Peter with the assist. Curry’s got seven points. Not just from deep. Steph Curry one of the best guard finishers around the rim. Outside. Irving gets it to go from beyond the pretty easy right now. Clear out. Give him some space. Let him get to work. Warriors trail by eight. And here is Curry. He has seven. [Applause] Banked in off the glass. He’s got nine. Great work inside by Curry there. So clever and composed in the paint. Pass to Christie. Screen by Gaffford. On its way from Irving for two. Here’s Davis. And it’s Davis finishing it off. just taking over that play. Davis gets the rebound and sends it right back. Golden State’s gone 105 from downtown the first quarter. Points out there have been hard to come [Applause] by. Three-pointer. The Mavericks pull it in. It’s stolen in the corner. Moody with it and it’s off from three-point range. Mavericks leading by eight minutes remaining. Over in the corner, Marshall. Pass to Christie and he can’t extend the lead to double digits. And now we’ve got some time to check in from the sidelines. You got for us, DA, Kevin, thank you very much. Anthony Davis broke his defense down for me. He said, “I can block shots, switch on to anybody, guard the pick and roll. I can guard the post. I can guard the pin down.” So that’s my ability. My ability defensively is to do everything, Kevin. And he does everything, David. Thank you so much. And here are the Warriors now. The Mavericks taking the shot. And again, no good by Golden State. And that was almost a block. still did enough to alter the shot. Yeah, altering the shot. Just as long as there’s a miss, that kind of energy not wasted. Now, here’s Davis. He’s coming off a 40-point game against the Grizzlies in Memphis. He also did a masterful job in that game of drawing a lot of fouls. So, he’s creating havoc for people. And some changes here for the Mets. Martin comes in for Davis and Washington subbed in for Irving. Warriors trail by 10. Pass to post and the foul on Daniel Gaffford. That is his first foul of the [Applause] game. 51 seconds left in the first quarter. Golden State moving it around. There’s the screen. No one near Payton as he lets it go. and and trailing here in the first. You’d like to see them be a little more aggressive on the offensive glass. Here’s Christie and oh boy, a lot of contact there, but he gets the call and will shoot two drawing fouls and making them pay at the line. The Mavericks shooting their seventh and eighth attempts at the foul line tonight. [Applause] He throw good Christie. No good on the second free throw. And trailer here in the early going. Too many careless fouls and they’re giving up a lot of trips to the line. Here’s Spencer bangs on the trifecta. Average leading by eight. Now Washington, not a good performance from him in that loss to Memphis. to the wing on the left. Christy kicks to Washington and right away they with a three-pointer of their own. I I like their focus coming in. Terrific execution so far. Well, if there were four or five boxes to check in terms of the game plan tonight, they might have checked six. I mean, they’re doing everything out there. And so, it’s Dallas. Their lead at 11 points to end the quarter. They have made it very tough to get a shot off against them. Their defense has been stifling. We’ll take a quick break and then back to the action here. And if you’re just tuning in, we’ve got a wide margin on the scoreboard, but uh plenty of time left for a comeback. Let’s quickly check out the scoring breakdown here for the Mavericks. Absolutely dialed in from beyond the arc so far in this one. The defense is surrendering the long range shot here early on. I wonder if pace and playing fast is something that they’re being encouraged to do cuz right now they feel like the faster team. You’ve got Jonathan Kaminga Majki out there with heel and it’s post in at the five roaming the paint. That’s the group for the Golden State Warriors the start of the second quarter. The NBA scoring explosion break hasn’t slowed down. We’re getting record setting offenses it seems like every single season. Yeah, Kevin. Lots of factors going into that. Obviously, more three-pointers being taken and figuring out the math of the game, but let’s give credit to the players and the work that they’re doing in the off season in terms of getting better with their skill to be able to shoot that basketball and seek out the most efficient shot on the court. Thompson misses. That’s the only way to take him out of his comfort zone from that range. Get right up in the jersey. force him off the spot. And so it’s Thompson with it. He’ll bring it up for Dallas. They’ve led by as many as 11 points and he gets the bucket and the Mavericks lead by 10. Another good play. This is how they built the lead. Calling on the right guys at the right time. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but its importance to a team showing up here running plays that turn into scores. and he banks in the late and they’ve done well at taking advantage of some late defensive rotations and getting the ball in the bank. It’s big effort covered by [Applause] Heel. Penski grabs the board. Warriors trail by eight. Heel finds PJMski. Gatford against Kaminga. Five on the clock and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. First personal bad one on Thompson. All right, Brent. Quickly, first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Jonathan Kaminga, physicality, Kevin, this guy is so dominant athletically that Jonathan Kaminga is a presence out on the floor. If he continues to put himself into the situations where he can put his body on guys and play fearlessly, his game is going to continue to grow. And the first one at the line is good. And Kaminga is so physical. He’ll get a lot of these. So one for two that time at the strike. And then they continue to control the glass. And we’re about two minutes into the second quarter. Gather passes to Davis. Davis using his size. Yeah, the added muscle Davis has put on helping him on these tough finishes. Flexing on him there. Here is Pachki defended by Christie. And they call an illegal screen here. Beyond the leaning, you could see his feet more set on that screen. Easy call. Got to hold firm or you’re going to get a call. Mavericks leading by nine outside. Davis covered by Heel. Offered a screen on Heel down low. Cafford misses. Those are chances almost always you can rely on him to get you two points, but the D just enough to keep him out of rhythm. And Davis sends it back. The defense on display there from Davis. Lines up the shot. Perfect timing. Swats it away. Nailed from three-point land. He’s got five. And they’re hitting the long range shots that they were missing in the first quarter, but still have ground to make up. Pass to [Applause] Christie out to the wing. Now here is Davis. Christy the best. The Warriors pull it in. post has got four rebounds in this game. Here’s Kaminga. The shot goes in. First shot, first pass. Nothing that D can really do there. They should work on pushing Kaminga maybe a little further out. [Applause] Here’s Christie. 11 points for him in that last game against the Grizzlies in Memphis. Thompson finds Gford and it’s blocked. And here we go. Fast break coming. Here’s PJMski takes it off the glass now. Just a two-point Maverick lead. Outstanding find from JK. Kaminga’s all-around game continues to evolve. And Jason kid is called timeout. He wants to talk to his guys and doesn’t like how things are going right now. The timeout before the timeout here maybe just to cut off the momentum, have a chitchat for the team to settle down. [Applause] Green has checked in for the Warriors and Dallas with a change here too. Derek Lively, he’s checked in for Daniel Gaff. [Applause] Dallas moving the ball around. Davis with a screen on heel, the 10-footer, and he hits the jump shot. He’s got six, guys. That’s just really unstoppable. He poses a ton of matchup problems for whomever he’s [Music] facing. Back to Pajki. Five to shoot. [Music] misses the three. Mavericks leading by four and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. Thompson is tall for a guard, so you want to utilize any advantage you have. That time height came into play. Bernellis, they have been good at the free throw line this one. Seven of eight. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. Clay Thompson never seems to get too rattled. A pretty even keel guy and you can see that even when Klay’s off the floor. [Music] [Applause] [Applause] He’s off on the second. And I think just everyone around basketball wanting to get Klay Thompson back to 100% health. I mean, this guy is a force and a lights out scorer from all areas on the floor. Not happening with that shot. He’s put up five and made two. Now the Warriors moving it up. Lays it up and puts it in. And he has really life here after a slow start in that first quarter. Here’s Christie. He’s defended by Penski Thompson for the triple. Green with the rebound. Well defended that he’s a shooter that the D has to close down on quickly when he’s ready to pull the trigger. Let’s go. And the rebound goes to the Mavericks. Come into this one following the loss to the Prisms. And guys, there’s really a fine line between being aggressive and being out of control. In that one, they crossed the line. Well, you can do a couple things with turnovers. They committed too many and then they didn’t force enough. So, a tough go in that category. He trains it as the shot clock ticks down. He’s got eight. That basket must be widening out right now. He’s making almost every shot he’s putting up this quarter. Here’s PMski defended by Christie. Punches it from T. shot by Pajimsky. No good. He missed that one, but I’ve seen him drill shots from that distance in warm-ups. Oh, no. I know he can make it, but that’s warm-ups. So, maybe just a step too far. That one falls. This looks like he’s got more feel tonight. Like he’s really got a good grip on that ball as he’s letting it go. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. He’s made the decision he wants to huddle up with his guys. Time for next changes for Golden State. Gary Payton comes in for heel and Curry sub in for Brandon Pajki. Kyrie Irving, he’s checked in for the [Applause] [Music] Mavericks. Warriors trail by seven. outside. Kaminga Green with a screen for Kaminga and he could not get that one to go out of contact and he’ll go to the Lion for two. That one on Dave. Wow. Wow. He got whacked on that one. Shouldn’t be much debate there. He shot two free throws in the game, made one and missed one. And the first one drops. [Applause] So he makes one of two as the second one misses. Yeah, just a solid job on the back board. They are really controlling the inside. The edge stolen by Kinga. Now the Warriors moving it up. Curry outside. No good. He missed it. Brings him to three for eight this game. Irving looking for an opening. Davis. The pass to Lively. Now Irving guarded by Kirk. Back to Lively. It’s stolen by Green. [Applause] outside Payton and two free throws coming up. Unable to get that one to go with all the contest. Just a quick look now at how the point totals have looked over the last several months for him. And he’s been on the upswing offensively these past few months. And you know how much they love getting all those extra points out of him. He’s been carrying a much bigger load lately and I think he’ll just continue to get better. First one calls for2 being a second generation starter. That that comes with some challenges, but he’s definitely his own man out there on the floor. And the Warriors making a change here. Moody’s checked in. He doesn’t get the second one. And so Marshall will bring it up for the Dallas Mavericks. That bucket in in no time at all. Martin’s got himself going with the triple. His first basket of the game. Warriors trail by [Applause] eight. Pass to Green. Now here’s Moody. Covered by Martin. Now here’s Moody. No scoring in this one. Curry gets the bucket. On another level. Curry is totally ready to duel this one out from the three-point line. Lively with it. Here’s Marshall. Green with the rebound. Green’s got four rebounds now tonight. Payton with the ball and it’s Martin picking him up and Kamingo throws it down. with some enthusiasm. Kaminga saw his chance to dunk it and he took it. And to me, Draymond Green really embodies the idea of a high IQ player. He can read the opposition, predict where a play is going, and those instincts aren’t something that can be easily taught to anyone. Well, that screen wasn’t quite as effective as it could be. However, they find a way to get it done. Credit the shooter for overcoming that aggressive defense. outside. Kuminga releases and it’s good off the back of the rim and in. Curry’s got five points in the quarter. Curry’s found his groove out there and that’s a scary thought. Irving with it. He’s got 12. And here is Washington. [Applause] Marshall came in. What happened there? That was an easy two points that he just threw away. Here’s Payton. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. Foul. A break in the action means we can check out the best defensive teams in the league this season. Here are the real stats, real scores from the real NBA. Number five, the Warriors. This is a team that takes pride on the defensive side of the floor. I mean they play hard and they play together. They are a tough group to score on. The first one falls. [Applause] And so he makes both from the line. Dallas has gotten fewer than half of their three-pointers to go down tonight. They’re four for nine. Pass to Washington. And here is Marshall. Martin dishes to Marshall. Lock at six. Here’s Irving. Defended by Moody. And here’s Marshall from the arc. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. Frank, everything they’re doing is working right now. run they have going right now. The momentum is huge. Nice shots by Washington and he’s wide open again. The miss by the Mets to Curry. We’ve got 108 left to play in the first half. Here’s Kuminga. It’s blocked. Marshall passes to Washington on the wing. [Applause] Perfect. Now Marshall pass to Wively. Back to Washington and Marshall kicks to Irving. It’s stolen by Kuminga. Jumps up and Kaminga throws it down. And the defense to start that play was terrific. And I love the fact that they attacked early in the shot. Now Irving, 12 points for [Applause] him. Here’s Washington. Shot clock at six. Dallas needs to get off a shot. One-on-one fast [Applause] break. Moody. The pass to Payton. Now here’s Kaminga. Puts up a deep three. And the last shot before the buzzer is off. So that’ll be it for the first half. Fairly even battle underway in this one. Warriors lead by one. And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing by Courtzside. David, thanks very much Steve. Some great engagement defensively. What’s happening that’s good at that end of the floor? I think they’re just playing hard, flotating, playing for each other, and we’ve done a better job of avoiding fouls and just playing through. Steve, thanks for your time. Back to you. Thank you, David. And we’ll be back after halftime as the third quarter gets underway. Ernie Johnson here with Kenny the Jet and the big diesel, Shaquille O’Neal. How about we start out with the Western Conference and how those teams are stacking up since we got a little time on our hands here? Uh you guys got any uh big plans for tonight? Not me. I’m just going to take it easy. I’m pretty worn out. Yeah, you’ve been burning midnight oils, man. You’ve been hitting the clubs or something? Nah, just putting up with you guys. It’s exhausting. And now let’s talk Golden State. They’re in an even matchup through one half a play. Watching them on the offensive end, they did a great job moving that basketball. There’s no surprise in those assist totals how they reflect that, keeping everyone involved, keeping everyone engaged. And that’ll do it for halftime. We send you back to Kevin Harland who has the second half call. [Music] [Applause] And as we get into this third quarter, as we’ve seen so far, neither team able to create much separation on the scoreboard yet. Curry has been sensational. Yeah, through the first two quarters, he has been the offense for this team. Yeah, he’s he’s shouldering the load right now and looking really comfortable while he’s doing [Music] it. The Warriors leading getting underway in the second half. Here’s the five for Jason Kid. We’ve got Derek Lively. Johnson is out there with Kyrie Irving. And there’s Davis. Curry gets the bucket run. Another day at the office for Steph Curry making this look easy. [Applause] And it’s Irving with the ball for the [Applause] Mavericks. Davis with a screen on heel. Six on the shot clock. The kick out to Irving. Good on the triple. Irving’s got the game tied up here for Dallas. Zero hesitation. Irving was all set to go. Pass to Penski, healed right [Music] side. Lays it up off the glass. Eight points in the game so far. And that’s exactly what you want to start the second half. Smart play call. Halftime talks can go all over the board, but right there coming out, that’s the way you want to start the half. Be aggressive. Time now to turn to our sideline reporter, David Aldridge. David Kevin, thanks. The Mavericks at last season’s trade deadline added length by acquiring Daniel Gaffford and PJ Washington. Coach Jason Kid says they help on both ends. Gaffford has the ability to roll, has great hands, and PJ can put the ball on the floor and guard one through five. And then defensively they both bring physicality. Kevin David, there is an argument to be made. That was one of the best trades at midseason this league has seen in a very long time. First free throw is good. Greg, as you were saying, beyond the blocks, what makes Anthony Davis special on defense is the way he navigates the floor. Kevin, most bigs can get picked on in pick and roll action. Davis though too quick and smart to take advantage of. He can slip screens, hedge, switch, and recover like he’s a three andd wing. Both good from the line that time. Makes it pretty tough on the defense. Who you going to pick to send to the free throw line? He’s hitting the free throws right now. Form looks good. Outside Curry. Curry crashes inside and defensively they are on their heels every time the ball comes inside. It’s Davis on the wing. Pass to Lively. The shot from the low post is good. Lively’s got six points. Well, AD doesn’t always seek out shots. He’s not a ball hog, so he’s ready to score or make a pass. Curry against Thompson. Green with a screen on Thompson. Curry outside and Davis pulls it down and close to making the defense pay for the lack coverage that time. Covered by Heel and there’s the try and they take the lead. 12 points for him. Three for three and that’s always a good way to start the second half. And so Steve Kerr calls for the timeout. Wants to talk some things over. Might be seeing some things to adjust. A chance here to see the numbers for Davis. The last 10 games he has been on a heck of a run and he’s among the top 15 in rebounding. Just a powerful presence in the paint. Mhm. And as you said, one rung below the leader in block shots. Tremendous motor. He He’s simply been destroying opponents in the lane. A little over two and a half minutes off the clock in this final half of play. Here’s Curry. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. And man, is this team on a roll right now offensively, Greg. So fun to watch. They’re playing with so much confidence, which is why they’re tearing it up on this. That’s out of bounds to the Mavericks as Dallas retains possession. You got to love strong defense, especially when it comes in the form of harsh rejections. Wow. And this is why coaches stress the importance of defense. Big block there in this close game. covered by Heel. Clock at four. And a nice defensive sequence there by Heel. Not a natural lock down defender, but he’s a competitor. And a better box out. Saves them two points there. It didn’t seem like anybody was really aware there to go and collect that rebound on the possession. Curry outside pass protection from the trying more and more to utilize the three-pointer. It’s a good idea. That’s his second three of the game, one in each half. [Applause] Davis, the pass to Lively and finished off by Lively. Davis getting so much attention when he’s got the ball so he can play in that twoman game and open things up. Here’s Curry and the call on the shot. It sends him to the line. Second person. He is three for three from the free throw line at the line for the Dubs. Stephen Murray taking two shots. That’s good from Stephen Curry. What you appreciate most about Curry is his confidence, especially when it comes to how far he can connect from [Applause] and that one goes in. Two from the line that time. Yeah, we talked so much about Curry being the best shooter after he makes a three, but there’s a lot more to it. I mean, this guy’s also the most accurate free throw shooter of all time. So, it’s pure no matter where it comes from. Well, he wants to shoot his way out of this cold ball, but he struggles. He’s got to move on. Forget about this sequence here. Try to find a way to get on the board. Out left of the wing. Healed on the double team. Lively finds Irving. There’s a good screen. Six to [Applause] shoot. Puts up a deep free and he stays with it in the corner. Lively with it outside. Irving. Davis setting the pick for Irving. They get it back and finished off by Davis. Yeah, when Davis is on like this, there’s really not much you’re going to be able to do about it and it’s Pajki in the corner. [Applause] He over the screen on Davis and they call the foul. So, he’s got the and one chance here to make it a three-point play. Yeah, exceptional big play there to take the bump and still get it to fall. Wow. And a chance to catch up on some numbers scoring breakdown for the And guys, how about the unselfishness and all about working that ball around, shifting the defense, and just seeking out the best shot. Well, if we add another thing to it, it’s about the urgency they’ve played with. I mean, you look at the eyes of these guys. They’re focused, wanting to get up tempo, and that’s helped them score on the fast break. on the wing. Thompson. Dallas moving the ball around. Thompson with the three. Love watching Klay Thompson and that easy stroke of his. The Warriors have gone six and eight on field goal attempts in the third. A 75% clip. Green dishes to heel. [Music] Thompson against Kerr. and he can’t answer back. The three-pointer offline. Mavericks have gone seven of 12 from the floor since coming out of the break and finished off by Riley. Yeah, nice strong finish on the inside. But break. That’s what he does. He’s got the dunker mentality. Here’s Pachki. Great pass to set up the lane. Penski’s got it all tied up for the Warriors. to the inside. Lively and finished off by Lively. Kyrie Irving being unselfish there making a nice play for his guys. And Curry has it in the corner. Pass to Pajki. Green with a screen on Irving to the middle. Second shot opportunity. Green. No luck. No one to blame on that one but himself. You get looks like that, you’ve got to take advantage. [Applause] Irving good. Now it’s a fourpoint Dallas lead. Yeah, that’s the third bucket in a row from the paint. This defense needs to clog those lanes in the [Applause] middle for three. It’s in a six field goal in 10. kind of like playing in the right league. Little to no defense on that possession. The easiest three-pointer you can imagine. And Jason K is called timeout. He’s ready to talk things through with the team. When it comes to players who like having fun, Greg, Jimmy Butler has to be way up there. Kevin, if you see his media picture for the 2324 season, he looked like he belonged in an emo band with that hairstyle. Jimmy is definitely one of those guys that likes to troll and have [Applause] fun. So, it’s both teams making substitutions here. Here are the teams that have been dialing it up defensively since the All-Star break. The league’s steel leaders, the Warriors number one. You know, the defense has been frenetic and it seems like they’re gaining momentum as the season wears on. I mean, they’re forcing a lot of turnovers. Here is Davis. He’s got 16. Pass to Marshall. Here’s Christie. And the foul on Daniel Gaff. That’s foul number two for him. [Applause] The Warriors have gone eight of 13 on shot attempts to begin the second half. Here’s Post to the paint. The jump hook. He takes it up and plays it in. He’s got 17. He doesn’t look satisfied with the lead right now. He wants more and he looks like he’s going to get it. Here’s Irving and he drops in the layup off the glass. And the Mavericks lead by one. And here’s Peyton. He’ll bring it up for Golden State. And play stops whistling what looks to be an illegal speed. Looking now at some numbers for Marshall. Since the Allstar break, he’s been putting in work, averaging about 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists. and he’s done his share of the work for the team. Definitely making an impact. Well, the numbers, if you look at them, impressive all the way around that he’s not letting the team down. Pass to Christie. Good. And the assist goes to Irving. Irving’s got his fourth assist in this one. Well, Irving is an excellent facilitator. He’s going to have those big openings. He’ll take advantage. Curry outside. rebounded by Gaffford. And boy, have they been hitting the backboard in this game or what? Kind of surprising. It’s such a tight game now. Here’s Davis. Not a lot of room. Pocket six. And they double up. Davis to Irving. Tigers from deep. And Davis can’t get it to go. Warriors trail by four. Payton looking it [Applause] over. Now here’s Moody off target with his three. Oo, he missed an easy chance to put some points on the board. He won’t get a much better look at that kind of shot again here probably tonight. And now let’s take a quick look at the numbers for Irving. And his sweet shooting stroke places him in the top 15 leaguewide in three-point percentage. You’ve got to play him tight. And he’s been deadly from the free throw line. Only a handful of players are shooting a better percentage. Phenomenal asset to have on your team. [Applause] That one is off. The Warriors making a switch here. Dominguez checked in. Martins check in for the Mavericks. Washington comes in for Kyrie [Music] [Applause] Irving. And he’s good on the second. Warriors trail by five. [Music] to the middle. Here’s Post. Good. And Curry gets the assist. Curry doing a great job there with the pass. Of course, you’re you’re worried about the shot all the time, but a nice setup from Steph. And Jason Kid is called timeout. He wants to regroup and go over the strategy. Time again for your Warriors. 13. [Applause] Dallas leading by three. Here’s Christie taking a look at his stats. is averaging around 7 and 12 points a [Applause] game. Washington kicks to Marshall. Down to five on the shot clock. Martin. The pass to Gaffer. And it’s Curry with the rebound. Curry’s got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Well, just how smart and patient was Steph Curry on that play. Draws the contact after the pump fake. another thing he does so well. Let’s take a moment here to get your guys take on scoring so far for the Memphis. They’ve been playing some really physical offense, just attacking the paint as much as possible. And I tell you what, they have been very successful with that strategy. Well, the three-point shot has been absolutely huge for them this entire game. And let’s be honest, you have to knock down threes to win games these days. That’s good from Stephen Curry. And even though they’re down, they are putting on a show at the free throw line. And both free throws good for Curry. Dallas is gone. 387 from three-point range here in quarter number three. Pass to Washington. A minute 50 left in the third. Oh, he blocked it and deflects off the backboard. Kaminga kicks to Kirk for the lead and the shot goes down. And now it’s 27 points for Steph Curry. Guys, what a back and forth game this has been. And that’s already resulted in seven lead changes. down low. Here’s Christie. Yes. And the foul against Stephen Curry. That play never gets old. The pick and roll will still be an offensive staple 100 years from now. Trust me. Prestige for one. [Applause] the Warriors trailer. There’s 117 left in the third quarter. Shot high post. Rebounded by Gaffford. Gaffford’s got his fourth rebound in this one. Christy the best of Washington buries the long range jumper and now a fivepoint Maverick lead. That’s pretty much not how they defend the three-point line. Somebody’s got a shadow of him out there. Peyton passes to [Applause] Moody. Count the bucket and he’s got a free throw coming up as well. Yeah. Outstanding job there of taking the harm and still able to finish. And this is his first trip to the line tonight. Second personal foul. 14th team foul at the line for one. [Music] [Applause] Dallas has gone to the three-point shot eight times already in the second half and hit four of them. Christy the pass to Marshall inside Gaffford. Pass to Marshall. Dallas moving it around. They get it again. Gafford and it laps. They get one to fall. Man, appreciate Gaffford’s ability to muscle through the defense. Here’s Curry. And the rebound goes to the Mavericks. They’ve led by as many as 11 points. Here’s Christie. Puts up a three. What shot? Unreal. The defense has to be besides themselves there. terrific shot to close out the quarter by him. And so it’s Dallas heading to the bench with a seven-point lead as we wrap up the quarter. And they’ve done a phenomenal job down low. So many of their points coming right at the rim. We’ll get right back to the action when we return. Now, let’s listen in to head coach Steve Kerr. Picking us apart, right? Guy cuts behind you down the lane. Miscommunication there. They’re cutting behind us. We got to get solid. Clearly Greg is not happy with his team’s aggressiveness on the defense. Clearly Steve calling his team out on Yeah. Gently asking for them to pick it up. They’re going to need to if they want to win this and with three quarters behind us, let’s see what this fourth period holds in store for us. They’ve got Barry Peyton. The second is out there with Kuming. Then there’s Brandon Pajki and it’s post in at the five down low. So that’s the group out there for Golden State. [Applause] That’s good from Martin. When you think of Caleb Martin, Brent, what comes first to your mind? I think energy, Kevin, for me. I mean, Caleb is always out in the floor on both ends just putting pressure. Whether he’s running in transition, attacking the basket, spotting up, and finding space in the half court, the guy plays with a ton of confidence and wants to contribute. He makes one of two that time. Caleb Martin is a classic higheffort player using that athleticism to blast through defenses and taking that first step with no hesitation. And this has been an outstanding display on the boards and it’s a big part of why they have a lead in this game. Doing the dirty work down low. Here’s Gaffford and Gaffford throws it down. Yeah, use the height, use the reach. Devastating effect. Daniel Gaffford. Warriors trail by 10k with it. Left side. [Applause] Kinga on the wing. Payton. He’s covered by Washington. Six to shoot. Back to Payton. Pass to Moody. That’s good. And it’s Peter with the assist. They went to hitting from beyond here in the second. And here is Washington to the right side. Christy kicks to Marshall. And yep, that’s going to be a flagrant foul. Unnecessary contact. Boy, a very hard foul that time and the officials had to slap him with the flavor. I mean, you can’t let him get away with that kind of contact. Yeah, G, that’s an easy call for the officials to make when there’s that much contact. The league is really cracking down on those sort of plays. The first free throw is good. [Applause] That one is no [Applause] good. About a minute and a half through the fourth quarter now. Christy kicks to Marshall and the call is going to be Yes. It is an illegal screen. And how about no turnovers here in the second half. Making sure they get a quality possession every time down the floor. Warriors trail by eight. Pass to post. Whistle blows. Basket is good. So a chance here for a three-point play. Yeah, heard the whistle and then kept his focus and able to still knock it down. And for such a young player, Brandon Pajinski has a mature game. Well, Kevin, his intellect out on the floor, I think, is at an elite level. Brandon does such a good job of hovering around the basket to get rebounds. He advances the ball with the pass. He’s driving and always looking for angles. So, this is an advantage created player and Brandon does a great job of that. Dallas leading by five. Pass to Washington. [Applause] to the left side wing. Christy gets to Washington from outside off the mark. The Warriors have gone two and three from the field to get the fourth quarter [Music] started. Here’s Kaminga and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points in the line. Second team foul at the line. The Warriors Jonathan Kunga taking two shots. No good on that one. Knox. He’s checked in for Brandon Pajki. [Applause] and the second free throw. Good. Listen, they’re still right in this thing. Missing that free throw though keeps this a two-p possession deficit. Pass to Marshall from downtown. The Warriors pull it in. Post has got six rebounds here tonight. There’s more he could have done in this game for sure, but it hasn’t kept them from pulling ahead. And here is Gaffford. Christie hits to Martin. Christie with the screen on Kaminga. Martin the pass to G and Camper throws it down. Nice pass from the swingman Martin proving what a team player he is. Pass to [Applause] post. Back to Payton. Here’s Knox. Shot clock at six. [Applause] Rebound by Marshall. Marshall’s got his fifth rebound in this one. Here’s Knox driving inside. Has such great athletic ability. He’s able to work his way inside and drive to the rim. Mavericks leading by four. Christy the best to [Applause] Marshall. We played just over three and a half minutes now in the fourth quarter. Christy kicks to Martin. Dallas moving the ball around. Gafford and it’s good with time running down on the shot clock. Cather’s got six here in this quarter. The halftime break was good for him. Allowed him to step back, calm himself down, get himself in the right frame of mind, and now shots are falling. Moody with it. Washington’s on him. Payton passes to Moody. Back to Payton over Washington. Pton’s shot is off. The Mavericks have gone three of five here in the fourth quarter. Pretty good numbers coming out of the break. Martin with the bucket. Not shy from outside. There is no doubt about that. Spreading the floor and getting them up. Payton against Christ. Payton dishes to Kaminga. fires the three and the rebound goes to the Mavericks and here is Washington. The jump Warriors with the rebound just got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. If you told me this was the kind of game he was going to have, I would not have expected them to be in front right now. Christie against Payton on the high post. A rebound by Washington. Hate to say it, but if they’re still trailing at the final buzzer, a lot of this is going to be felt by him. His shooting tonight has just been atrocious. Dominga against Martin. Pass to Washington. The three Out of bounds. Golden State takes possession. And the Warriors will complete the new five on the floor. Dallas also making some changes. Derek Wely, he’s checked in for Daniel Gaffford. Anthony Davis comes in for Marshall. And Kyrie Irving subbed in for Christie. And here’s Curry who brings it up for Golden State. Nine-point game. [Applause] trying to end the fight. It doesn’t go for him. It’s been a struggle all night long from deep, but doesn’t seem like he’s lost his confidence. He’s still letting the [Applause] rip left side. Irving back to Davis. Goes back up ignoring the contact. Anthony Davis. And boy, he’s really in a groove. Dominant performance last game. Same thing this time out. Seems to be nobody standing in his way. No roadblocks for him to get to his spot, capitalize, and continue to be aggressive. [Applause] Thompson. Here’s Wely and finished off by Lively. That’s unblockable unless they can get a bigger man on him. Got to learn your lesson. Warriors trail by 13. Now Curry pass to Penski. Back to Curry. Got a piece of it and a big lead for them on both this scoreboard and the back door thus far. And finished off by Davis. Well, part of their game plan was to block out the noise and just stay focused. Always a good sign of maturity and steps forward when you can take this kind of effort, focus, and concentration on the road to get a big with the jam. I like watching Curry work the pick and roll. I wonder if his time with Steve Nash in the off season is paying some dividends. Impossible to guard those sets. Thompson outside. No good on the three. Golden State’s gotten just one or four three-pointers to go down for them here on the fourth. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. And one of the problems in the first half, that shotty look at the free throw line. They needed to fix that. And they’ve been much improved since the break. Two shots. [Applause] And the first one drops. They are making it look easy at the free throw line here in the second half. [Applause] And he makes both free throws. Maverick leading by 11. To the inside. Here’s Wively. Another shot. And the rebound goes to the [Applause] Warriors. Outside Curry. No problem for Curry right there. Well, the rest of the team has looked pretty bad tonight, but he’s done a fantastic job of scoring the ball and carrying the load on offense. Outside Davis beyond the arc. The rebound by Heel. Warriors shooting pretty well. 46% from the floor. Oh, that’s blocked. And that’s out of bounds. Golden State will retain possession. And right now, let’s watch that terrific swat. And big defensive plays like that will help them stay in control of this one. Now off the inbound, blocked again. A two-way star. AD has led the league in shot clocking on multiple occasions. Let’s take a second look at that fantastic block. Sharp instincts on D there. Just timing when to rise up and swat that one away. Pulls up on the wing and heel with the basket on the assist by Green. Green’s got three assists tonight. Mavericks leading by [Applause] seven. Now here is [Applause] Irving at the top of the key. Thompson. Clock is at [Applause] three. And that time also a miss shot. Golden State’s gotten just one of four three-pointers to go down for them here in the fourth. The Mavericks shoot here in the fourth quarter around 41%. Pass to Davis and finished off by Anthony Davis. What a throw down by AD. He really rocks the rim without him. And we’ve got a timeout called by Steve Kerr. It’s a chance for them to regroup and repocus. Let’s check in with our reporter David Aldridge. Thanks, G. Well, Steve Kerr talked to his team during the break now. He’s not happy with the perimeter defense. You told them, “We have to hustle more out to the three-point line because they look real comfortable out there.” Now, I want you contesting every three they put up. We’ll see if that intensity increases on D, guys. Thank you, David. Warriors trail by [Applause] nine. Pass to Curry. Green with a screen for Curry over Thompson. Nice spin off the left rim and in. Curry’s got six in the quarter. It’s not talked about a lot, but Steph is fast. So whether he’s firing or passing, the defense is pretty much on their heels, especially in the screen and roll. Here’s Davis and finished off by Anthony Davis. Does that so well and his size, he’s always a threat to throw it down. in the top. Third team shooting for Ellis. Anthony Davis at the line for one [Applause] and that one falls for Anthony Davis. I think as fans you always want to see the best in the league healthy Davis out there tonight. The NBA is just better when AD’s playing. Over to the left wing. There’s Green with the three. Drills the three-pointer. No way he’s going to catch that shot. He is way too far back and relaxed and getting out on outside. Irving. Here’s Davis. Yes. And it’s Irving picking up the assist. Irving’s got his seventh assist in the game. Well, he’s been doing it all night. Why not go back to it? Yeah, he’s feeling it. Keep feeding him until he misses. And Davis sends it back. Thompson outside Irving. 109 left in the fourth. Davis kicks to Thompson, sinks the three-pointer, and the Mavericks lead by 12. And and so only one team answered the bell tonight, guys, not a monster blowout by any means, but still a double- digit victory for the Mavericks. The bench gave him a big lift in this game. Hey, listen Kevin, anytime your reserves can perform at a level that high, it puts you in an excellent position to win the game. And for the year now, they’ll ramp up their win total to an even 40. the one player that really stands out of course in this one. It was a dazzling game for Davis. I just loved his defense. He took pride in swatting away a bunch of shots tonight and made his impact felt. Curry outside, buries it from three-point range. Curry’s got 36. And so it’s Irving. He brings it up for Dallas. The biggest lead of the game, 15 points. Davis setting the pick for Irving. Another three for Dallas. Answering back. Irving determined to knock down that triple. [Applause] So, we see the Mavericks taking the win here. They came in here and took care of business like they were the home team. and talking about the mental toughness that this group showed. They they were never rattled at all by the opposing fans. And now we’ll go to David Aldridge who’s standing by with our player of the game. Take it away, David. Thanks very much, Anthony. Great team win. How important are those contributions throughout the roster? We got a great team and you know, guys are playing for each other. We play selfless. Um, all we care about is winning and you know these guys are doing the little things and therefore any chance we get where we able to find these guys and make plays. Um, we want to give it to them. You know, we want to reward them and thank them for doing all the little things. That’s how you win championships. Yeah, it was 1 through 15 tonight, man. Thanks. Back to you guys. Thank you, David. And that about wraps it up for Greg Anthony, Brett Barry, and David Aldridge. This is Kevin Harland. Thanks for watching the NBA presented by 2K Sports.
Now that 2K redeemed themselves with NBA 2K25 with such amazing changes with the gameplay, realistic player movements, better graphics (if not then better than the previous ones) better commentary and many more. I am completely amazed NBA 2K25 but I’m pretty sure some of you are just like me that is not very pleased and contented with the game, so down below I will have my wish list for the upcoming NBA 2K26.
MY WISH LIST FOR NBA 2K26:
1. More Realistic Graphics and Movements (they did well with the player signature etc)
2. Realistic Players, Coaches and Fans Reaction. (maybe too much to ask for every play but maybe in some amazing plays like a buzzer beater or a poster staring down someone and gets a technical just like how today’s NBA)
3. Personal commentators for each teams + playoffs or finals. (is it too much to ask?)
4. Make the commentators feel more alive commentating for each plays like what WWE 2K22 did.
5. Make my career story more interesting and longer.
Well if you have something to add to our wish list feel free to comment down below!
