Dear Jake ~ I have yet to watch the post lottery live show but how do you feel about Egor Demin? I'm not too hot on Khaman Maluach + I think we have a good one in Yves. I think getting a tall point guard is a better idea. The young man seems very talented.
My off season wishes:
1. I would trade Missi and Hawk for Dalton Knecht and a number two (if and only if Maluach is available at seven). Then I would draft Sion James with the second rounder. The Lakers are hurting for a big man and we are just plain ol' hurting.
2. Then, I would make a serious effort to sign Ben Simmons in free agency on the cheap (or pick up CP3 until Murray is ready to play).
3. I would unload CJ for draft consideration and fill.

2 things first it has never been about Zions talent it has always been about everything else. I don’t trust his body to stay healthy especially his hamstring with how many times he has pulled them.
2nd we have to take a real look at how tough the west is. This is a Murders row of teams. The Suns with KD and Booker couldn’t make the play in this year. The Spurs have Wemby who was going to be the defensive player of the year and that teams is on the rise. Portland is also on the rise as their young guys are getting better. We have already lost a lot of depth and we need to take another step back move off Zion in a sellers market and start up again in a year.

I think we should draft the duke center just look how many teams in the playoffs have multiple bigs starting and rotating in the lineup. The league is quickly moving away the small ball thing.

The Pelicans aren’t mediocre bro, they are ass. The org has won 2 playoff series in its entire existence.
And it’s organizational. They can’t make the obvious correct moves like giving control of personnel to Trajan Langdon and promoting Borrego to HC. What do they do? They hire Joe Dumars and retain Willie Green.
The one good thing Pels do is draft. They’ve always drafted great talent, but they never do anything with it because of organizational incompetence.
I’ve finally given up and realized the root problem is ownership. Nothing is changing until Ms Benson passes.

Keep Zion. If he was on some of these playoffs teams, they would get to the next level. We just have pay to put good players around him.
We need a big power forward like Naz Reid, Julius Randall, or Draft Derek Queen.
As currently constituted, the Pelicans are a lottery team.
Not a play-in team.
Not a top-6 playoff team.

When Zion returned from his (annual) hamstring injury, he played in 29 games (almost ALL of them with Trey &/or CJ). The Pelicans went 9-20 in those games. Extrapolated over 82 games, that's not even a 30 win team.
Myths concerning Zions so-called pOtEnTiAl is exactly what's gotten the Pelicans in this hole to begin with. Pretending him to be Giannis-in-waiting is only wasting time.
He simply isnt that impactful.
Whoever is responsible for letting Zion be late for practice, flights, etc….
Unwilling to practice his shooting or adequately stretch and be prepared to consistently contribute. Whoever it is needs to be shown the door.
