The Houston Rockets’ PERFECT Offseason! Realistic Trade & Draft Ideas For The 2025 NBA Offseason
What’s going on y’all? Welcome back to basketball and more importantly, welcome back to Ideal Offseason. For those of you that are new, this is the series where I put the GM cap on for a little bit and help a team navigate through their off season. We try to make this series as realistic as possible. So, we really take a look at each individual team to try to better position themselves by the end of an offseason. If you’re the Washington Wizards, things aren’t going so great right now. We’re trying to build upon uh all the young guys that you have and kind of straighten out the franchise. If you’re a team like the Lakers, you got Luca and LeBron. You’re trying to win a championship, right? So, we’re trying to take into account all those different things and really help set a team up. We’re going to go through their roster, talk about their cap situation, depth chart, their draft picks. We’re going to do realistic trades, a mock draft. Uh we’re going to talk about free agency, use realistic numbers and logic to go through all of this. It’s going to be a great time. And today, we’re talking about the Houston Rockets who uh just had the lottery happen, which this pick is actually different now. I already have to change this. But anyway, before we get into all of that, make sure you guys like, subscribe, and comment. I’ve responded to every single comment to my YouTube channel up to this point, and I intend to keep on doing so. Um, Ideal Offseason’s back, y’all. It’s the biggest series on my channel by far. These videos are really popping off over here. Go give them a watch. I I’m the only one really doing content like this on YouTube, as far as I know. I think it’s a really cool series. And also, go give my Do They Fit in the NBA series a watch. These videos are really popular as well. They almost always get demonetized though for unfair reasons. So if you guys could like them, share them. If they keep doing well, then I’ll keep doing them, right? Who cares? But anyway, with that all being said, let’s talk about the Houston Rockets. All righty. So, that brings us back to the ideal offseason spreadsheet. Uh, for those of you unfamiliar, I built this spreadsheet to kind of help articulate and visualize the story of ideal offseason or perfect offseason as that’s kind of what I title the videos cuz I think it’s more clickbaity. But, um, you guys can actually get access to the spreadsheet. I build a lot of these different things for different thing or videos or series on the channel. Uh it’s really easy for you to get access to it. Just go down to the link in the description and there will be a link to the Discord. If you click that and join the Discord, you go to the announcements channel. It’s the first thing on there. It’s free to download. Anybody can use it. You can post what you make on there, have discussions with people. It’s a great time. So, I recommend doing it. But let’s talk about the Houston Rockets. They had an awesome season to say the least. Um, coach Udoka came in and uh, he really kind of straightened this team out going into this season. Um, I I think the Rockets have done their rebuild extremely well post James Harden. Obviously, they did things the right way. Accumulated a lot of draft picks, made sure they were bad enough to get highlevel draft picks. Chicago Bulls sure be nice if y’all could do that, but they went and got talented pieces to add to this team. And then at a certain point, they said, “Okay, we’ve got all these young talented pieces. Let’s go get some vets to put around those guys.” guys and they went and found Fred Van Vleet, right? Steven Adams was a guy. He’s not listed on here right now cuz he’s a free agent, but Dylan Brooks was another one, right? They went and got those guys to help supplement their young guys. You saw the Detroit Pistons do that this year as well. It’s the correct way to do the rebuild. Um, they were all the way up to the two seed this year. They were overwhelmed by the Golden State Warriors. It happens. It’s a young group. These are the trials and tribulations that this group is going to go through. Um, overall, I want to give a lot of praise to Coacha. Like, I’m I’m a pretty critical guy, right? like I’m a big strategist and my time uh throughout the league and like college and coaching and all this stuff, right? Like I’ve got I’ve got some experience under my belt. I felt he pulled the right levers at like every single time throughout the playoffs. So, we we all know that he was a really really good coach and there were obviously other reasons that he wasn’t with Boston anymore, but just a lot of credit to coach Udoka. It was a really real pleasure to watch him try to uh put his team through to the end um there. It was awesome. But uh so here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to go through kind of their current roster, what it’s looking like, because there’s quite a few players on this team. Uh we’re going to go over their salary cap situation, then talk about draft picks, and uh we are going to try to better position this team um for a really successful year next year. I think this is going to be a fun one. So, lock in. Uh let’s talk about the guys. Fred Van Valet, kind of leader of the team, right? Uh there were a lot of times this especially during the playoff run where he was trying to do it himself and you know, he’s not quite that level of player at this point, but you know, he tried his best. It’s uh it’s kind of an interesting thing um what he was able to do on the court this year. Um if you guys are curious what these numbers are over here that we’re looking at and especially with like Fred Van Vetle, you’re like 93 overall. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Uh these are EPM numbers. EPM is basically an all-encompassing statistic that we use in basketball that gives a rating to someone like 0 through 100 on how good they are compared to everyone else in the NBA on offense, defense, and then overall, right? Um, and I tell everybody like statistics, there’s a lot of context that can’t always be captured in things. Take it from a guy that owns a statistics company. It’s just how it is. But these are probably the best ratings that you will find on these players. So Fred Van Vleet had a pretty damn awesome season. 93rd percentile overall. Like Fred Fred had an incredible season. This team defensively in general, you’re just going to see a lot of really highle players on this basketball team, which was um really really cool to see. Um, and Fred Van Vleet was the makeshift kind of alpha player, if you would, for this group. And why why do I pose it that way? Well, it’s because the the one thing that the Rockets didn’t quite do in their rebuild is they never found that guy, right? That number one A guy. They got a ton of really, really good players. Alfin Shenun, Amen Thompson, right? Jaylen Green is interesting at points, right? Jabari Smith Jr. Obviously, he’s an interesting young player, but like none of these guys scream like top 10 player in the NBA necessarily, right? Like maybe some of these guys will get there, but it doesn’t quite seem like it’s there yet. Like uh we all had the questions at the end of the game, who’s going to take the last shot for him, and it turned out to be Fred Van Valet. Is he really that guy? Not probably. So, this team is this team’s kind of missing that right now, right? And Fred Van Valet was kind of the makeshift one that they had this year. Alrren Shenon had an awesome uh season. Made his first All-Star team. He was great all around. Obviously, we’d like to see the outside shooting become a thing at some point, but he’s young. He’s getting better. Like, the footwork’s fun, even if he’s a little bit goofy and how he goes up towards the rim. I love the energy that he plays with. Um, especially around the rim. I also think he’s got the sneakiest bounce in the NBA. Just just my opinion. He has like no dorsal flexion, will still dunk all over people. It’s so interesting to me. But, uh, really big fan of Valprince Shenon. Uh, Jaylen Green. Um, there’s a lot of mixed opinions on Jaylen Green. Um, I’ve always been in the camp of like I’m just not a huge basketball fan of Jaylen Green. I think he kind of represents um the newer generation of B I’m going to sound like an old head. I just am. But there’s enough sports science you can go out there and find that this is just a correct thing. I was talking to a division one coach just uh uh last week and uh he was saying like, man, kids these days are so good at steps 8, 9, and 10 if basketball was a 10-step process. What they’re not very good at at all is anything before that. So they all got eight, nine, and 10 down, but we have to teach them one, two, and three. And it used to be we had to teach them like uh six, seven, eight to do thing or like that’s where they kind of were. It’s just it’s different now, right? It really is. So you kind of have to start people from like this baseline level of uh learning the fundamentals of basketball again. And I feel like Jaylen Green really represents that. Talent is through the roof, right? He was their leading scoreer this whole season, but as soon as the playoffs came in, like dude disappeared completely. They just wiped him off. Um defensively, not the best basketball player. offensively. We know how much he can do. It’s just like, is he ever really going to figure out how to play winning basketball? We don’t know, right? We just we don’t know. I’d like to think that he could, but it’s it’s it’s kind of rough to watch at points. It really really is. Um he’s going to need to take a big leap if he really wants to be that guy in the NBA, but talent through the roof. Uh Dylan Brooks, honestly, really good season. 3 and D guy, brings a lot of the intensity, kind of the anchor of the team, right? I always think it’s good to have just like a scrapper on the team. Like, what does that mean? like a guy that’s just, you know, could get in a fight in any second. I think every championship team needs a guy like that. So, I I like having Dylan Brooks on this team. I think he’s great for the culture, great for all the young guys. Um, from everything I’ve heard, by the way, I’ve got a few connections within Houston. They’re like, he is the nicest guy in the world, like when they’re not playing basketball. So, it’s kind of funny how that tends to be the case with a lot of these people. Um, moving on to Jabari Smith Jr., young fella, like numbers wise, not that bad. Like really pretty good. It’s just for a number two overall pick. Hasn’t quite figured it out. He’s supposed to kind of be this defensive stretch four that can’t quite stretch right now. Uh defensively, I love what he does. Like I think he’s always in the right spot and really gets things. Um he has these moments where it just looks like it’s all coming together and then it never really completely materializes. So I don’t know. Um he’s a he’s an interesting player. He’s got a team option by the way um that we are going to pick up. There’s no reason not to keep Jabari Smith. Also Fred Van Vleet, I’m going to be picking up his team option as well. I have no reason not to pick him up. Uh Reed Shepard, rookie from this last year. Um Reed Shepard, I don’t want to spend like too much time on it because like it just seems mean. Um I we we talked a lot about Reed Shepard going in to this draft where I told a lot of people on this channel like, “Hey, Reed Shepard is really going to struggle when he gets to the NBA.” And I had Houston Rockets fans down my ass like Reed Shepard EVC. This these are this is Twitter people for those of you that don’t know and people in the YouTube comments that don’t have any like critical thinking skills because they think they watch basketball from the couch and they just know what ABC knows. Um ABC Reed Shepard’s so good. Did you see his steel percentage in college? Oh my god, ABC look. And I was like hey that’s great man. College basketball is a lot different than the NBA. I’m just telling you I’ I’ve read this book before. Doesn’t necessarily go well. So I’m just telling you like be be ready for it. Okay. And uh a lot of those fans have since deleted their comments on my video cuz it didn’t go well for Reed Shepard this year. Now, he’s a young guy. You don’t give up on Reed Shepard. Like you you you certainly don’t on an as an NBA player. I don’t know what you do with him positionally. I really struggle with that. I don’t see how he’s ever going to be like a really effective defensive player, but him shooting as bad as he did this year, like I feel like he was just probably mentally overwhelmed by everything this year. And I’d like to think he’ll still be a pretty good shooter in the NBA. What position does he play? I don’t know. He’s a confusing prospect, but he’s here on the team. Amen. Thompson, somebody complete opposite. I was like, this kid is going to be a stud when he gets to the NBA. And this is the guy that if if it all comes together, could be that dude for this group, right? Uh the Thompson twins, just both of them, 11 out of 10 athletes, right? We talk about it all the time. Uh basketball IQ is through the roof. Uh they always know where to be offensive and defensive lead. And yes, they don’t have jump shots, but it doesn’t matter. or they figure it out anyway cuz as soon as you turn your head they are dunking on you and they are getting that pass and it is awesome. Uh Amen honestly really good ball handler in my opinion. Um you saw the growth in the off or in the offseason in the postseason where he was like okay I got to go get some offense and it’s not perfect right now and that’s okay. He’s a young guy, right? But like for his second season, holy cow was that impressive. Like I think it’s important for people to realize like people want these guys to be so good by year two. Like people don’t start winning championships until they’re like 26 27 years old and he just finished his second season and he was doing stuff like that in the playoffs already. This this kid could be phenomenal. Obviously you see the 99th percentile defensively, 96.9 overall in EPM ratings. This kid’s an absolute stud. Um Houston Rockets fans, you should be really excited about him. You accept the team option. He’s awesome. Uh Jacqu Lendell, um his contract isn’t guaranteed. He’s not a bad reserve center to have, but I’m just going to keep it real with you. like he just doesn’t do enough for me. I don’t need to use him in a trade or anything. So, I’m just going to be getting rid of Jacqu Lindell in this one. We’re just not going to um guarantee his contract. He’s going to be gone. We’d like to save the money on this one. Uh Tari E, defensive monster, rebounding guy. Uh maybe developing the three-point shot. Hopefully, we hope. Um I I think every Rockets fan will tell you they love Tari E. He’s just such a fun player. I don’t know what he becomes long term. Um he might just be kind of a bench guy, right? That is just, by the way, an awesome bench guy to have. Like a guy that’s going to grab rebounds, defend like that, and potentially be an outside shooter. Cool. Sign me up for that all day. Like the numbers speak for themselves right here. Uh team option, picking that one up. We have a lot of team options cuz there’s too many young guys on this team. Uh Aaron Holiday, nice solid reserve point guard, right? Um able to shoot the ball pretty well, doesn’t lose the basketball. All the Holidays are just very competent basketball players, right? So I have no reason not to bring Aaron Holiday back. He’s got good size for a backup point guard, too. strong ass dude. Uh Cam Whitmore, kind of another Jaylen Green, right? Uh was supposed to go top five in the draft a couple years ago, right, in the Amend Thompson uh draft itself. And then he didn’t. And people were like, “Why?” ABC knew why right away because he was connected to things. Um his uh his interviews didn’t go very well. People were like, “This guy is not the most intelligent basketball player in the world.” And that’s okay, right? Like he’s extremely talented. Like the talent is there. Like anybody that’s watched a Houston Rockets game and saw Cam Whitmore out there, you’d go, “Why doesn’t this guy get more minutes?” And it’s because he has zero like basketball IQ. He just really doesn’t. He is a straight line drive every time he really gets the ball. But he’s so talented, right? Like he can do a ton. It’s just a matter of teaching him, right, and learning the game. Um, so we’re picking up his team option cuz like of course we will, right? Like you see the offensive stuff is pretty good defensively. He’s not the greatest. Really bad team defender. And again, like his the amount of assists he gets is kind of laughable at times, but man, if you can put it all together, it’s there. So, just another project for the team. And then you got Nate Williams on the team. I just didn’t really get a ton of minutes or anything like that. Non-g guaranteed contract. I have no reason to bring him back. Uh because I’ve got a second round pick where I can go get a Nate Williams if I want to. So, I will uh I will not be bringing him back and I’m going to be taking him off the depth chart here. So, where does that leave us um assetwise? Well, let’s take a look at the salary cap first. And for those of you unfamiliar with the four levels of the salary cap. Um, if you want a more in-depth look at it, go watch the Phoenix Suns ideal offseason. It’s the first one in this series. And, um, it just goes into a lot more detail, but basically, I’ll give you a quick overview. There’s four levels. Uh, there’s the cap line itself. Once this hits zero, you can only resign your own players to anything more than a minimum contract. You can always, uh, give guys that you have like bird rights to, meaning the guys that were on your team for a certain amount of time, uh, as much money as you want to. it’s just going to eventually get costly. Um, so that’s hit zero. We’re over the cap right now. Uh, luxury tax, we are now after getting rid of Jacques and Nate, uh, we are $7.8 million away from luxury tax. Once this hits zero, your team gets way more expensive, right? That’s all that is. Not a huge deal, not a uh, for a team that’s trying to be really good at basketball right now, cuz that’s what we’re trying to do. Then we have the aprons. These are newer to the NBA. These were put in place to try to make sure star players didn’t get traded quite as often, right? And so basically once these hit zero, your team really gets locked down. Like it becomes near impossible for your team to get better. Once you get into that first and especially this second apron, they start restricting how you can trade, who you can sign, what kind of moves you can make. You can basically only move down. Uh at a certain point, you really only can move down unless you’re really crafty with finding like certain contracts and stuff like that. So uh you want to try to avoid these aprons if you can um because it’s it just becomes very hard to move. you have to be dead sure that this is like championship level team and I don’t want to make any moves, right, if you go into those. So, we’ve got some room before that. Then, draft pick-wise, we’re doing pretty good considering we were a team that was the second seed this year. We got the 10th pick because we had the Suns pick this year. Sorry, Phoenix Suns fans. I know that that’s not the most fun thing in the world. We also have this Thunder pick that’s picked 60, which not the worst thing ever. Um, it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to get a cheap guy to put at the end of the bench cuz we’re going to have some other expensive guys on this team. So, I’m uh I’m down for that, right? I’m down for both these draft picks. We don’t have a ton of draft assets this next year, which again, not a huge deal. We don’t need more projects on this team. Like, this team’s got its young guys. We’ve got our young interesting players like uh in like Shenon, Am Thompson, Jaylen Green, right? List list goes on and on with this group. So, we’re not too concerned about it. But what’s cool is we’ve got like multiple first round picks in like uh 2027 and we’ve got our picks going forward. So, like we’re in a good spot to make moves. um however we see fit. I’m not just going to shell out everything right now, but um we want to try and make a move, right? And that’s kind of where we’re at right now. Right. So, that that’s what we’re looking at. We’ve got five roster spots currently that are available uh as of right now. And what I’m kind of thinking is this team needs that 1A option, right? I mean, maybe it becomes a men Thompson. Maybe it does. I I don’t think his offensive game is going to be there for a little bit. Uh Shenun obviously good player. He’s not going to be able to carry a whole offense. People eventually just going to sink on sink in on him. He’s got to be a supplementary player. Um, is it going to be Jaylen Green? We don’t know. So, what we’re probably going to do is we’re going to look into the trade market and we’re going to try to bring that guy in, whoever it may be. So, that’s what we’re going to try to do. Let’s start doing the trades. All righty, y’all. And that brings us back here to Fansspo. Fans Fanso is a super cool website. Uh, if you haven’t used it before, you can do like mockdrafts, trades, keep it realistic. It’s a ton of fun, right? Um, but before we do that, you better not have skipped ahead in the video. I know like 65% of you guys do. If you skip that last chapter of the video, you. No, I’m just kidding. The harshness of it. Can you imagine? No, but honestly, like like go go go watch that. You missed so much context. Don’t let Tik Tok melt your brain. I We explained so much of our strategy there already. Um, but seriously, before we get into like the actual trade itself, we got to take a look at like how many roster spots we’re even going to have available. We have five right now, but if we go and take a look at our free agents, we have to know who else we’re trying to bring back, right? Uh so like Fred Vanet, we already took care of that. Stephen Adams, I want Stephen Adams back on this team. He was a big part of this team this last year, especially in the playoffs, right? Um you want a guy like that, so we’re just throwing him on there for now. We we’ll figure out the money later. Um but we just want to hold that roster spot for him. Uncle Jeff, uh maybe maybe if we need somebody, if we absolutely need somebody, I’m okay with throwing Uncle Jeff on the team. Jun Tate probably going to let him go. Probably going to let him go at this point. Um interesting player if someone else should probably pick him up, but I’m not that interested. Uh Aaron Holidayiday, we picked up his option. David Rody, um and all these other two-way guys. Not that worried about it. So, we’ve really got four roster spots to work with here. And this is this is where this is where it gets interesting, right? Who is ABC going to target? Cuz let’s let’s be real, right? Dallas Mavericks. At the time of recording this, this is um the day after the draft lottery. And the madness that was um the Mavericks getting the first overall pick. What did I learn yesterday? Is that the basketball gods, if they are real, they are not all good. Mavericks, you didn’t deserve it. But you know what? This is where you are now. And unfortunately, the Rockets moved down one pick, which isn’t the biggest deal, but one of the things that came out today, which I actually tend to believe, is that uh the Dallas Mavericks are not going to be targeting Giannis Antensmpo, right? So that kind of leaves two teams really in the running for this. Maybe three if you count Memphis. It’s going to be us and the Houston Rockets and then the San Antonio Spurs who, let’s be honest, the Spurs, they can most likely put together a better package than us right now because they have the second pick. They’ve got young guys that they can throw at them as well and they’ve got other draft picks that they can throw at them as well. But this is ideal offseason, right? So let’s just say um in in our world, right? um they’re a little bit more enamored with what we can throw at them because again like I I want to be realistic with this, right? Like the Spurs could throw something better at them, but maybe the Spurs want the draft pick. Maybe they want Ace Bailey. Maybe they want Dylan Harper. So in our ideal off season, that’s what happens, right? And that’s a realistic thing that could happen. Like it they could totally just take like an Ace Bailey or a Dylan Harper. Like they totally could. And so we we are going to try to bring Giannis in and let’s let’s let’s have a talk. Let me look into the camera really quick because this is important. Uh cuz I know that this this this video is going to get some comments with with the Giannis trade. Like I know it is, right? And that’s that’s okay. We need to have an understanding about something. Giannis on Tenso is really good at basketball. Did you know that? Did you know that? Cuz I know that. And I don’t think you guys quite know how good Giannis is sometimes. Some of you in the comments cuz I see it. And here’s what I’m going to tell you guys. um Giannis, no matter what kind of trade he’s involved in, um unless it’s like for Wemi, you’re not going to get the value back that you should. Um the odds of having a Giannis on Tensupa, we’ve done the math before. We did the video on the channel where we talked about what it takes to be a like a 1A guy on a championship and there’s been like 10 of them over the past 25 years basically and the odds of you having one on your team is like a.1% chance. So, the Bucks getting rid of Giannis. They might not get another Giannis for another 30, 40 years. Like, that’s the odds of it, right? That’s how hard it is to find guys like this. And so, I see some people being like, I would not give up that much for Giannis Antakmpo. Guess what? You’re the dumb dumb that we all hate playing fantasy football with because you try to package two bench players together for a starter player. You’re a Giannis Antakmpo is so good. He’s an instant trip to the playoffs. He gets you 30 points every single night with elite defense. He’s won a championship as the top guy that just doesn’t exist. There’s only a handful of them that exist. Um 30 years old, he’s got plenty of time left. He’s under contract for a while still. He’s awesome. So I don’t if if I’m I’m being so real with you. If you put a stupid ass comment in my comment section about I would not trade that much for Giannis and it’s not satire. I’ll ask you if it’s satire. I will hide you on the channel. I will do it because that is so dumb. You need to think it through. Anyway, now that I’m done ranting at you guys because I try to I try to try to be educational here. What is this trade? How do we get Giannis over here? Well, I think the way to make it happen properly is this has to be a three-team deal. And who’s getting involved with this? It’s the New Orleans Pelicans. Cuz what’s what do the Milwaukee Bucks want out of this, right? Well, they want young players. They want draft capital and they need permission to tank. And they don’t really have permission to tank right now cuz they don’t have the rights to their draft picks. The Pelicans do. So, we need to get the Pelicans to give them their picks back, and we need to give them something in return for that. So, this is how the trade is going to work in some capacity. I haven’t really thought this through too far yet. This is as far as I got with things before I started recording this video. Giannis, we get Giannis, right? That is that is for sure for sure. Uh the picks, uh we need to give them back their swap rights right here. So, this this 2026 swap rights and this 2027 swap rights right here, those are going back to Milwaukee. That that is the absolute minimum right here. So now the Bucks have permission to tank. Right there you go. You’ve got your picks back. Like you can tank. You can be bad. Um Giannis isn’t here anymore. We understand. Like go do what you got to do. You control your own destiny. Now again, that’s extremely valuable to them, right? That at least gives them the opportunity to have a direction, right? So we start there. Now, what are the Pelicans getting out of this? They’re going to need some draft picks and maybe some players because they understand how valuable those picks are, right? They’re not stupid about that. They’re like, “Yeah, we know why we’re on this phone call. We we we understand. So, what are we giving them back?” Well, we’re we’re not going to give them swaps. We’re going to give them real draft picks so they can have multiple picks in drafts. Draft picks have never been more valuable. And you know what? That’s what it’s going to be. Um and we’re going to be shelling out almost all the picks in this one. It’s uh it’s just how it’s going to be. Uh what do they have for picks right now? They actually don’t have a second round pick at all. I I don’t think anybody’s going to want this 60th pick from us. But anyway, uh the number 10 pick, that one’s going to the Bucks, right? Because they’re giving up Giannis. They’re giving up the most by far. And again, we’re not going to be able to give them everything that they’d ever want, right? But we’re going to we’re going to give them a lot. We’re going to give them a lot. All right. What happens next? Um we want to give them some players. Jaylen Green, you’re going to Milwaukee, right? Uh we we kind of gave you a chance and I know they’ve said the thing that like they believe in Jaylen Green. I read the article like I’m going to give you some basketball 101. That’s just hey no Jaylen Green’s good like uh want him in trades. That’s that’s basically what they’re saying by that. I I promise you. Um next Jabari Smith Jr. Young guy. Um second overall pick a couple years ago. Not phenomenal for us, not bad, but look, we got to give up good things to get one of the best players ever. So we send uh we send Jabari Smith out there. Uh don’t worry, Amen Thompson here to stay. Uh I don’t think Dylan Brooks is necessary. They’re not interested in him. not Fred Van Vleet. We want to keep those guys. Reed Shepard, you’re out of here, my boy. I’m sorry. I I do feel bad about it. We want to give you a chance to develop. You’re going to get a much better chance to develop here. You just are. Um and then finally, I don’t know if it’s Cam Witmore as much as they could use another point guard. We’ll throw Aaron Holiday over to them. So, I think that that’s how that goes. Um after that, I’m going to guess that the Bucks might want to get rid of one more player. And I kind of wonder if they um I kind of wonder if like an Andre Jackson Jr. gets moved in some capacity over to the Pelicans, but we’ll we’ll explore that. We’ll explore that. Um okay, picks. Uh we got to shell out some picks right now. So, let’s just let’s just go through and see what needs to happen. This 2027 swap rights with Brooklyn. Oh, that’s a pretty valuable one. That one’s going over to the Bucks right here. We don’t want to do the swap rights. We want to give full draft picks to the Pelicans cuz they gave swap rights back. And like look, Milwaukee that like you’re not getting as many first as you want with this. You’re getting to control your destiny with this. So that’s that’s kind of what you’re getting. Um 2027 Phoenix first round pick that’s going over to the Pelicans. They just get a full first round pick out of this. Uh 2028 first round pick. We’re sending that over to the Pelicans as well. this 2029 um swap rights. Um and again, it’s it’s a swap rights, right? So, we send this over to the Bucks most likely. I kind of envision it that way. So, where does where does this leave us right now? This works. I’m not surprised that that works financially. Uh the Pelicans gave up their swap rights in 2026, which like they really don’t need more young guys. They really don’t. And so it’s kind of nice that they were able to push push them out a few more years because they might decide to rebuild more so around these years if things don’t work out. Um, but you get just full-on draft picks and who knows how how bad Phoenix is at this point. That’s a pretty valuable pick. Um, the Bucks pick is as well, but that’s why we have to give them valuable things. You get our first round pick, which might not be the greatest, but it’s an extra first round pick, right? Instead of just swapping picks. Um, which, you know, good and bad. How much you want to take a risk on that, I don’t know. Um, I kind of want to give them one other thing as well. I feel like Andre Jackson Jr. just like isn’t needed um on this team at this point and so they just don’t like to play him. So I kind of just want to move him over to the Pelicans right here. I know that they’ve got plenty of guys at this spot, but these are valuable guys. You can flip him for something else later. And I think I think this is the deal right here. Um more like and you guys might think that this is a lot. It’s Giannis, man. It is Giannis. And I know we’re going to see the the fit of like where’s the shooting? Where’s the shooting? We got to figure that out right now. like because I’m with you. Like this team needs some perimeter shooters and we’re going to try our best to figure that out. So just just stick with me for a little bit and um let’s uh let’s keep it moving. So all right, who did we just lose? We just lost Jaylen Green. That is now a Giannis on Tentacmpo. There we go. I got to make this a little bit bigger for his name to fit. Jabari Smith Jr. is gone. Reed Shepard is gone. We’re we’re getting some uh space back, which is good. Aaron Holiday is gone right there. the 10th overall pick gone right here. Um, we still have the 60th pick, which is good. We’re going to want a guy like that. Um, Jabari’s gone. Jaylen’s gone. Reed is gone. Uh, Aaron Holidayiday’s gone. So, let’s move Amen Thompson over here. I like him more as a guard personally myself. We move Dylan Brooks here. We have an awesome starting five. Like, we really do. It’s not the most shooting in the world, but my god, this is an elite defensive group right here with a lot of athleticism that can make Look at the Look at the numbers on here. Look at the defense. This is insanity within this group. It is It’s pretty nuts. By the way, I’m throwing Steven Adams on here cuz we’re bringing him back in some capacity. We have two very valuable big men here. Um we we it’d be nice if we had a spacing big somehow. Uh AP’s going to have to get in the in the lab this offseason, start hitting some jumpers. But um here’s the here’s the complicated thing, right? Um we don’t have the cap space to go out and get free agents um for anything more than a minimum, right? That’s the challenging part. And what other tradable pieces do we really have? It’s uh it’s Cam Whitmore. So if I can make one more deal, can I turn Cam Witmore into somebody that can shoot a basketball is the question, right? So he’s making around threeish. Here’s all the player contracts right here. Who can I go get um that can shoot a basketball that isn’t necessarily wanted by his team right now or that would want the young player of Cam Whitmore because he’s got value, right? He’s super talented. Um but who is that going to be is the question. Who is that going to be? I’m just looking around here. Like I Dumu, he didn’t really shoot that great this last year, but he’s another good defensive player that has shown that he can shoot a little bit in the past. Fontacio. No, they they couldn’t take another guy like that in Detroit. They just couldn’t. They they’ve got too many of those types of players already. Um, man, who who could it possibly be? I’m just I’m just looking through the list really quick to see if there’s anybody that stands out like right away. So, let me just look for a sec. What about a Dean Wade? I know this might not be the sexiest option in the world, but historically like a solid shooter like played off of other good players before. And here’s the thing. Cleveland’s got to get rid of some money, right? They got to get rid of some money. So, where’s Dean Wade? He’s 6 million, right? We can give him someone cheaper and younger, maybe in a position. They probably Well, they they’re going to have to move a Cororo this off season. That’s feels like just a mathematical conclusion that that’s going to happen. So, I like the Dean Wade shout. I really really do. Um, otherwise, I’m not seeing a ton. Like I’d love to get like my hands on a Max Christie or something, but I can’t imagine that’s going to be the easiest one to um to maneuver. Lonzo Ball is kind of interesting as another guard for this group. Hold up. They they might be interested in that. Hold up. That could be a solution. That’s an injury risk. That is a big injury risk. But let’s let’s explore that. That’s three and D. Another ball handler. A guy to get the ball between everyone else. That could be And he’s a good team fit. Okay, let me let me try and think this through quick. Uh, the Bulls, Bulls, Bulls, Bulls. Um, Kobe White’s another one that’s kind of interesting, but uh Lonzo Ball, right? Two years, $10 million. Send him over here. Do you just do like a Cam Whitmore swap like right away? Because again, position and need rebuilding team, young potential guy, right? Send him over to the Bulls. Does that trade just work in and of itself? Ooh. Ooh, interesting. Now, we could we could with the Bulls because here’s the thing about the Chicago Bulls. They love throwing second round picks into things. They love throwing second round picks into things. Um, swap second round picks with us really quick because we’re taking on the injury risk and more money of Lonzo Ball and you don’t need Lonzo Ball. So, we’ll send this over here. Um, help us move up with uh this right here. You get the young guy in Cam Whitmore that like look, he’s not the most valuable thing in the world, but he’s got value. Lonzo Ball’s got some value as well. Let’s um let’s do this. I actually like this more than Dean Wade. We’re going to presume that Lonzo is going to be healthy again. We get more length, more defense, and a solid shooter. I’m here for this. I’m here for this. Okay, so we’ve turned Cam Whitmore now into Lonzo Ball. And um we didn’t we don’t take on that much more money. We get another point guard, which is great. Um so we’ve got two really good options there at all times. The defense on this team is ridiculous. Um, and by the way, now we have the 45th pick. So, we moved up a little bit. Maybe we can get someone a little bit better. Um, you’ll see we’ve got seven roster spots to fill still. But the good news is is that we’ve got um our playoff rotation kind of set, right? Like we got two good point guards. We got Amen, Dylan Brooks, Giannis. You got two good centers here, right? So, like you’ve got your seven dudes to play come playoff time already. Like Terry E, by the way, awesome as well. U didn’t mean to leave him off there. Um, we’re going to we’re going to enter into the apron. We just will. Um, one of the picks, like we said, is going to be the second round pick. The rest is going to be minimum contract dudes, unless we want to bring back somebody else from here, like a Jan Tate or something. Maybe we convince him to come back. Um, I don’t know. I’m not so sure that’s something that we really need. I I just want to focus on shooters. But I like these trades. Obviously, we got Giannis. We won, right? We got Giannis on our team for the next couple seasons. One of the best players in the NBA. Um, and we’ve got other good players around him. We just we need to find shooters. We need to find some shooters. So, let’s go into the draft. Try to find a shooter. Alrighty. And that brings us back to fan spo draft. It’s going to go through its thing. We’re using the new draft order, which as a Bulls fan makes me kind of Oh, I didn’t I didn’t end up uh moving this pick like I was supposed to. That is totally my bad. This is now where Where are the Milwaukee Bucks? Let’s send this pick over. That’s my bad. Trade the pick. There we go. They got a new with the pick. That’s part of what they got in the Giannis deal. So, take that take that as you will. I guess it’s not the greatest thing in the world, but you know, it is what it is. So, we’re waiting for pick 45. Looking for a shooter, right? Maybe somebody interesting falls to us, but we’re looking for somebody that can shoot a basketball um to throw onto this team because um uh while we do have some pretty solid offensive numbers all around, like this is a really loaded basketball team at this very moment, we need we need some set shooters. Like, we just we do, right? So, let’s take a look at what’s here. Tyresese Proctor, not a bad shooter overall. Um, good on the catch and shoot. Doesn’t use doesn’t actually like dribble the ball that much. Like I don’t really see him as a point guard. I do see him more as like a shooting guard that can be an interesting catch and shoot guy. He’s a little bit older as well. So I don’t I don’t hate that option. Like he’s a good defensive player as well. So I don’t I don’t hate that. You look at like a Cedric Coward could be kind of an interesting guy. Like I know he’s like super athletic and everything, but I I I want more of like the set shooter if you would. Hunter Salace, that’ll always be an option. The Kobe Brea is possibly the best shooter in this draft. Um, and he’s at 67. He kind of gives you that length and size. He feels like a guy that just like will make it into the NBA, whereas Tyrese Proctor, I feel like, is a little bit riskier. Um, but I feel like you kind of got to go Brea with this one, don’t you? Like, let me just let’s just let’s just address the need. Let’s go get shooting. He’s possibly the best shooter in this draft. Let’s just let’s just take Kobe Brea. Alrighty. So, Kobe Brea right here. And every single time I forget to center this and it bothers me so much, but you know what is what it is. And then let’s give him his money. You can now give second round picks up to like four years, which is really really cool. Uh so we’re going to put uh we’re going to put Kobe right here. We got a shooter. Cool. That’s the that’s the draft. It’s a pretty simple one right here. We we needed shooting. We got shooting. a guy that I think will make it in this league. Uh look, if we had to throw him into the game right now, I wouldn’t be like sad about it because look, look at all the other elite basketball players that are on this team. Like all you got to do is shoot. Just catch, shoot, and don’t be a revolving door on defense, which is easier said than done, but I’m I’m happy with this. I’m very happy with this. Like, this is this is a good basketball team already. So, now we now we head to free agency and see what else we can skim because we got we got six roster spots. We still got to fill. So, this could uh this could be a minute. All righty. So, we’re here in free agency on spot track. Nobody’s nobody’s exciting me too much with this current group that I’m seeing of our own free agents, right? Um the one that we do have to address right away is Steven Adams. Uh he shouldn’t command a lot of money. Stephen Adams is coming off like an injury pretty recently. He did play well this year. He’s still one of the more valuable guys out there. Um you have to imagine if Giannis is coming, he’s like, “Okay, we’re going to be in contention.” So, I I don’t mind sticking around here. Um, I want to give him like a 2year deal with a player option or something is kind of my thought. I’m thinking 5 million. 1 2 3 1 2 3 older guy. He’s not doing a ton for you, right? But he’s he’s going to be a great leader on the team. Great locker room guy. We all saw what he did in the playoffs. He gets two years with a player option. I think that’s I think that’s more than fine, right? We’re obviously going to cross this luxury tax threshold. We’re going to avoid the first apron, which is perfect. that’s going to give us flexibility to where if we want to make moves during the year, we’re good. So, I feel good about that. And by the way, like Van Vleet, like obviously probably a little overpaid at this point, but he did what he was supposed to do for this team, which is, you know, provide the leadership and get us to where we’re at right now. Like once he’s gone and everything, we have a ton of cap space back that we can work with when we need to resign like Amen Thompson and guys like that, right? So, all right, we still need to fill six roster spots. So, let’s take this filter off. What what do we need, man? We need some wings. We need some shooting wings. I can close this tab. I don’t I don’t need this anymore. Um we need We just need some shooters, man. So, let’s take a look at just forwards in general. Who could be available for cheap for us cuz we need cheap. Marvin Baggley could be a cheap option for us. I don’t hate the Marvin Bagley shout. Um obviously not the shooter we’re looking for, but um he he’s a guy that we want to watch out for. Uh Jeff Green obviously Trey Lyles. Trey Lyles probably gets more than a minimum. I’d have to imagine somebody will give him more than a minimum. Um Nick Batum would be great if he wanted to like uh opt out of things. Torian Prince dude can shoot it and he’s a wing. I’m willing to give him another minimum because why not just follow Giannis? He already knows how to play with him. Bucks fans will be like, “Oh, he was so bad in the playoffs.” Shut up. All right. He he shot the out of the basketball this year. I’m bringing in Torian Prince. He’s going to get a chance to get playing time right away. And you guys are you guys are going to like it. You guys are going to like it cuz that is that is an obvious one for us to go and get. He is a 9-year guy. So, this is what his minimum would look like. About $3 million here. So, let’s throw that in. It’s a It’s a one-year minimum for him. Like, obviously the numbers here, I know they’re a little bit scary. Dude shot the out of the basketball. So, that’s uh that’s what that’s all we need him to do and just be an okay defender. and on this team I think he can do that. Um it’s always important context to remember that um uh once you get other good defensive players around people defense just gets a lot easier. So um that’s that’s just something to keep in mind with all of that. Um okay, who else do we want? Who else do we want? Caleb Houston would be a great guy for us to add if we could get him. Uh Lindy Waters, he can at least shoot. He can at least shoot. Lindy Waters, not a bad option overall. I don’t I don’t hate that one. How what are we looking at in terms of like numbers for um Lindy Waters here? I want to take a quick look at those. Let’s pull him up. Um about league average from three this last year. Historically, it’s got to look better. Yeah, it does. Um it’s not a bad option. It really isn’t. size at kind of the shooting guard wing position could be a guy to add. So, we’ll remember Lindy um as well as like Marvin Bagley as a as some cheap guys to go after. Um I’d like a big man that could shoot if one of those exists. If if one of those exists, right? I I don’t know if there is a guy like that. Al Horford would go back to the Celtics. Um any of you guys can shoot? Luke Cornet once upon a time tried to shoot. Thomas Bryant, I don’t think he comes to us most likely. Jackson Hayes is not a shooter. That is that is for sure. For sure. Um, nope. That big man does not really exist. So, I’m thinking Marvin Bagley is just going to get added to the team as an extra center. He can step out and hit every once in a while. So, I feel like that’s probably just um a fair one to go after. Something happens to somebody, I could I could uh see it going well for us. So, let’s go back to Nope. I want to go to forwards right here. Marvin Bagley is a sevenyear guy. So, we take this amount of money here and we throw it right here. Okay, we actually are going to get into the aprons now, which you know what is what it is. We’re a contending team. I can I can stomach it. Like, can we avoid the second apron? That’s going to be the challenging thing, isn’t it? We’re going to have to find some younger guys to throw on this team right now. Um, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Uh Lindy Waters obviously a little bit younger, but let’s take a look at guards as well. There’s so many free agents that we’re going to have to go and get in this one. I don’t think there’s a way we get D’Angelo Russell here. Luke Canard, there’s no way he takes a minimum. Somebody will give him some money. Chris Paul. Chris Paul. Hold up. Hold your horses. Hold your horses. We could totally get Chris Paul on this team, couldn’t we? Bring him back to Houston. try for a championship again with Giannis, the guy that took away his championship. I could see it. He’s gonna sign with a contender most likely. I can’t imagine he goes back to San Antonio this year. Is Chris Paul a guy we want to go get? Uh, but I just said I want to get younger guys to save a little bit of money, but I’m not sure we’re going to be able to. Let’s Let’s remember Chris Paul and come back to I know I’m thinking a lot about this, but just like calm down, okay? I’m I’m trying to do this the right way. Uh, Pat Conetton player option. No. Gary Harris probably gets denied. What was Gary Harris’s numbers this year? I don’t I’m not a big Gary Harris guy like as a basketball player, but yeah, at least he’s like a league average shooter and everything and historically a pretty good shooter. You put him on a team where there’s not a lot of floor spacing. Again, I don’t expect it to necessarily get better. Uh but he also probably wouldn’t play a ton. So, we keep looking. We keep looking. Malik Beasley would be awesome. Nquille Alexander Walker would be awesome. Can we get air coffee for cheap? Amir Coffee can do what we need him to do. So could a Spencer Denwitty in a way? I wouldn’t. I would bring Kyle Lowry back to when he was thick boy Lowry. That’d be kind of cool. Seth Curry, but again, older guys, older guys, older guys. Amir Coffee, I like that shout. I I do. Uh give him a chance to play a little bit more. Dante Exom, he would be really good for us. Oh, there’s so many there’s so many ideas, man. What am I What am I going to do here? Gary Trent Jr. I I have to imagine somebody uh maybe the Bucks bring him back um when all said and done. Ton Horton Tucker’s a little bit younger. Um Kevin Porter Jr., he’s got the player option. I don’t necessarily want to bring him in. Dano Banton would be a cool one. He’s at least younger and can contribute a little bit more. That’s that’s not a bad third point guard option considering who we already have, but maybe I want someone with a little bit more experience there. Um, I’m going to do some looking and come back with some names. I’m not seeing the young guys that I’d necessarily like want to see. Um, when looking through this, like I’ I’d love to find like a young guard to kind of throw onto this team that’s not going to cost us a ton of money. Like Kevin Porter Jr. kind of been there, done that, right? Um, Alfred Payton, no. Markeel Folultz, like even at this point, he’s going to get a decentsized minimum contract. I’m not throwing Jaylen Hood Shafino on to it. Like honestly, like I I might go with like a Bones Highland or something. Like where where the hell’s Bones at? Where’s Busy Bones? Cuz maybe we just need like a guy that can go get some buckets if like other people go down, right? Cuz need some shot creators. Is Bones not on here? Bones is a free agent. Where where is he? Let’s just go to all guards. They have him marked as um something else. That must be what it is. Where’s Where’s the boy Bones? Let’s use old control. Um, Bones is um, do they have him as Nan Highland or whatever? Why is this Why is this doing this? Why is this doing this? I’m going to find you, Bones. Oh, yeah. Here he is. There’s There he is. Yeah, they don’t they just don’t have him as bones. So, he’s only fouryear. Unrestricted free agent two-way. We all know Bones can get buckets, man. He’s busy. Bones. So, he’s a little bit cheaper. I can get him for 2.4. So, I’m going to add him to the squad here. And I don’t I don’t mind having a guy like that. a guy that can just um what do they what do they have him as? Oh, I don’t even have him on the sheet. Oh my goodness. Oh no, he is here. Okay, we’re good. We’re good. We’re good. So, we give him the minimum contract. I’m cool with just having a shot creator here. I really am. Uh three roster spots left. Okay. Okay. Where where can we make something like this happen? Is there a way we can like is there some guy we can trade some second round picks to and we can relieve somebody of salary and just say that we kind of did this in a little bit different order or something? That might be the way to go about doing this, right? Is there a cheap guy out there for just like a couple million dollars that can shoot a basketball that we can trade some second round picks for because they don’t want him on the team at this point? Like Sv Mail, like is is that a guy we could go get? Just looking at his three-point percentage this last season, it’s not great, but historically he’s a pretty good shooter and it was just kind of a bad team this year. At least he’s got some NBA experience. It’d be relatively cheap. I don’t I don’t hate a shout like that. Like I don’t think the Jazz need any more picks, though. Nick Batum. No. Who Who could we go get for cheap? There’s got to be somebody else here. This is a tough one in terms of free agency, man, because we just gave up so much in this. Um, it could very well be him, though. I don’t think it’s Corey Joseph necessarily. Uh, it’s not Dariq Whitehead. I can promise you that much. Julian Champeni maybe cuz they might um could they use the second round picks? I wouldn’t mind adding a Julian Champeni into this somehow. Are we wanting to make some sort of trade with the Spurs? I don’t necessarily think so. Can I add Lonnie Walker to this team? The Sixers could probably use some more draft picks. Yeah, let’s go after Let’s go after Lonnie. Can we make that happen? Um so let’s just add the Sixers into this cuz let’s They’re probably drafting Ace Bailey. they don’t necessarily need him. Um anyway, so Lonnie Walker, send him over to the Rockets right here. These are obviously more individual trades, right? Um we send you Do you have a second round pick for next year? You don’t have one at all. This is perfect. Okay, just do this for us, right? We say you guys get something for this pick. And so we do that. That works out for us. Cool. We add uh Lonnie Walker to the team, which I don’t have him on the list. Should be here now. There’s Lonnie Walker. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. So, we can move Kobe down. Lonnie Walker, nice 3 and D player. Cool. All right. And we got Bones on the team as a backup here. We got Marvin Baggley as a potential stretch option. I mean, I guess we’ll guess we’ll see. We got to go get two more guys. I’m immediately thinking um Alec Burks for sure. We want to bring him in again. Shooters, shooters, shooters. um he’s got more years under him, so he’s going to be at least a 10-year guy. So, we would have to give him this much money right here. And that’s fine. I’m cool with um Alec Burks kind of taking up some of that. Can we add another forward to this group? Some other shooting forward or someone that can just step out and hit a shot if necessary? Who could this be? Uh Yabuselli would be really cool. He’d be hilarious on this team. Um, do we go Lindy Waters? At least he’d be a little bit cheaper. Um, I don’t hate that. Is Lindy Waters hurt? I don’t actually know. I I don’t think he is, right? I don’t think so. Um, just looking to see if there’s anybody else. All right, let’s go. Lindy Waters. Let’s just say we take him. And he’s at least got a history of being a shooter in the past. And we’ll go and add him. He gets the fouryear right here as well. So, it’s a little bit cheaper. And all right, we avoided the second apron, which is uh which is an absolute victory right here. We’ll throw we’ll throw Lindy here. And this right here after 53 minutes of me recording. Jesus Christ. Um this is your 2025 2026 Houston Rockets. Let’s recap cuz a lot just happened right here. We made quite a few moves. Biggest one being adding adding Giannis on Tentacmpo, right? That’s the biggest deal. Uh we added Giannis. We traded a bunch of stuff to go get him. And we now have one of the best players in the NBA, a guy that can guide you to a championship. He now has a supporting cast of Fred Van Vleet, Amen Thompson, Dylan Brooks, Alpren Shenun in his starting five. Not the most logical fits, but this is a tough defensive team that could lock anybody down. We added some other capable guards off the bench and Lonzo Ball and Bones Highland. We’ve got other capable guys in Lonnie Walker, Alec Burks drafted. Kobe Brea, pure shooter, could work his way into the rotation early. Tory and Princeon, Lindy Waters, more shooter, shooter, shooters. Tari E gonna be huge six-man type guy for us, right? Him and Lonzo Ball keep the defense going while providing maybe a little bit of spacing. Um Stephen Adams and Marvin Baggley, we’ve got a pretty good center rotation overall. We’re in the first apron. It’s fine. We’re contenders, man. We’re a contending team at this point. Um and overall, is this team perfect? No. You you’re probably looking at this and being like, you just need more shooting. You’re probably right, but we’re limited in terms of assets and what we have right now. Fred Van Vleet will be gone after this season and we try to make another move next year to try to even better support this u support this group and hopefully Kobe Brea turns into a nice rotational piece for us. But um oh we also lost uh this pick. So overall we’ve still got um we still got some things to work with. Uh despite losing quite a few draft picks um in this process, we’ve still got some assets moving forward. We’ve got one of the best players in basketball. Rockets fans, you should be happy if something like this happens. Um, could you do better? I’m sure you could. I’m sure you could drop something better. But this is what I was able to come up with and I want to know your thoughts. Now, go down to the comments below and let me know what you think. But as always, I appreciate you. Let’s go to the comments of the video. All right, y’all. Comment of the video comes from the postNBA lottery mock draft. I knew this video was going to do views. I was not surprised about that at all. Nico Harrison, you little sneak. And speaking of Nico Harrison, the comment to the video is Mango hates Weezer. No idea what that means, but I like the name. said, “I just hope people don’t start talking about Nico Harrison like he was all big like it was all a big brain move even as a joke to which I responded with, oh, I’m gonna joke about it. We’re going to joke about it all the time on the channel. Y’all don’t even know. Nico was playing 3D chess with us the whole time. We were not smart enough to keep up with him.” Like, he went and took the coldest white boy we’ve seen since Larry Bird, moved him, we all said, “What’s going on?” And then he got an inshape uh cold ass white boy. It’s insane. He’s a genius. What What can I say? Uh, no. It was a It was a really dumb move still. It’s crazy. But hey, this is where we’re at now. So, seriously, um, if you leave me a comment, I I respond to every single one. Looks like I got like four to get to still right now. But I get to them, y’all. I get to these comments. Um, as always, uh, like and share the video. Um, go hop on the Discord here. Link is in the description. That’s how you get the ideal offseason spreadsheet. Better not see any comments asking me how to get actually do it. That’s good for the algorithm. Don’t actually do it. Um, at least put something that says like ABC, I watched the video. I’m just commenting this so that you get the comment, but where is the ideal offseason spreadsheet? Um, so yeah, do something like that. But seriously, go watch the other ideal off seasonasons. Go watch the do they fit in the NBA series. Um, more of these to come. You guys are going to get a ton of content over the next uh couple weeks, so stay tuned. But appreciate it as always. What moves do you want to see the Houston Rockets make this offseason?
Is there a way to get the ideal off season spreadsheet?
AVC I watched the video, I'm just commenting this so that you get the comment but where is the Ideal Offseason spreadsheet um so yeah do something like that
Honestly think pelicans might say no prolly need a little more to say yes. They know Giannis just got traded and you give me Andre Jackson jr and the suns pick. For what could possibly be top 5 picks in the coming years. I think there just needs to be a little bit more or maybe I’m tripping.
I think that your draft website is not “realistic” Coward, Barea and Raynaud still available at 45? Really?
Fred gotta go 44m ill pass
Your a bulls fan you haven't done one yet I want one I'm tired of finishing 8,,9,10 lemme see the offseason
After this video, I’m pretty sure that if they want Giannis, they should trade Van Fleet.
I would not trade that for Gianni- gets banished to the backrooms
I don't think I will watch this site again, being rude to people watching you shows where your at.
How do you do this?
“Perfect” doesn’t have Durant face in the picture FFS 🤦♂️
I feel like we could just resign freddy for less than 44 but he definitely should be back
Can we keep Jabari Smith as injury insurance since Yannis has a lot of mileage on him.
Jabari smith the stretchless 4. He reminds me of bambi with all four legs going in different directions just trying to walk. I hope he learns to dribble the ball this offseason.
I saw that mouse hover over kpj for a second and i had a chuckle.
First start Reid Sheppard has 25 5 2 2 1 against OKC and lu Dort.
Idk where you got these numbers from but Fred defense being 94 and Jalen being 14 can’t be right
Reed defense being 47 don’t make sense either
Jalen also played winning basketball all season (despite his November struggles)
The trade you did avc is pretty good i probably wouldn't do the trade because we wouldn't win a championship with that team and we would have a short window to win an nba championship
Plus i would rather the Houston rockets 🚀 to go after devin booker would be a better fit stylistically and you wouldn't have to give up as much , other options are trae young good fit , derrick white or cam johnson for upgrade purposes.
Also avc i disagree i wouldn't release jock landale contract or nate williams i would use every contract i had in that trade.
And giannis i know is a great player that's common sense but one great player isn't going to win the Houston rockets 🚀 a championship, im a diehard rockets fan i watch all of their games i know the teams strengths and weaknesses
A lot of moving around but you got it done. 👍🏀
8:19 Jabari went 3rd overall Paolo and Chet went 1 and 2
Avc could you do a new 🤔 video 📹 on my team the Houston rockets 🚀 on other options other than giannis we could get like devin booker or trae young, or derrick white or cam johnson or kevin durant realistic trade options or should we try to trade up in the nba draft? By the way I do believe amen Thompson is going to a Allstar and defensive player of the year one day. But it takes time ⏲️
Im curious as to why u didnt name okc as one of the contenders for giannis. U named mainly spurs and rockets and it feels like any time i see people talking about destinations somehow okc is always leftout for some reason
That trade u made for giannis i kinda would wanna tweak a little with the picks. So just for reference in the suns nets picks deal the nets got back control of two of there picks (one swap and one unprotected) for 2 of the suns and 2 of the most favorable between dallas, phoenix, and houston.
The pels gave up control of the 2 very valuable swaps of bucks and got back a valuable 2027 pick and a weak 2028 pick. Ofc jackson was put in but just felt like they coulda gotten better value. Like maybe snag the 2 most favorable of dallas, houston, and phoenix in 29 or something
Cam could be that guy , still can't figure out why no play time , you play Holiday, man what the he'll, SLAM CAM DESERVE PLAY TIME
Who do you think will turn out better in the NBA, Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey?
Not sure if someone has mentioned this already in comments. Good luck reading through them all 🙁 Media said rockets said they would be willing to move Sengun in a Gianis trade what are your thoughts on this?
Definitely would prefer keeping cam over lonzo but i think the giannis trade is pretty close to reasonable
Giannis is 30 yrs old! He don't fit our time line! Run it back! Jalen is a baller! Give Whitmore and Reed more playing time.
If we can keep this team together and i think we will all we need is a 3 point threat off the bench, "beasley from detriot", and we should be good. Udoka gonna have 2 play cam and sheppard more. Its a must he gets them minutes. All that talent and scoring on the bench is a waste.
Rockets don’t need to make a trade. Internal improvement and continuity is more important . We have enough talent. Once sengun and amen can shoot 3s at 35% it’s a wrap . I would sign and trade fvv + filler+ picks for Trae young or lamelo ball
As soon as I got to the Reed part and heard your condescending take, I’m moving on. Enjoy making videos.
Bucks should keep andre jackson so they csn trsde him and maybe some other things to the hawks to remove the protection rights
i think if we pick up that FVV option he’s getting traded
I know Giannis is amazing, but this is exactly why I don't want to trade for him. You gut the whole team and then you don't even have the shooting around him that you need. Sengun can't shoot. Amen can't shoot. Fred VanVleet was an awful shooter last year. Literally Dillon Brooks is the best shooter in that starting 5. That should be alarming. Then you're heavily reliant on Lonzo – so if he goes down the whole season is over. So after all of that, we're still in roughly the same position the Bucks are in. You don't have the supporting cast around Giannis that you need and you don't have the assets or the time to rebuild around him. As a Rockets fan, I'd rather run it back then see a team I love dismantled and still have no real shot at contending because our offense and spacing are so awful.
Giannis went home at the same time we did this year. Lateral move
These are elite videos man! I can't wait for you do this with my Nuggets, but I also want us to keep advancing haha
If no Giannis…..would you replace Fred’s money with Harden (scoring assists pg) and the the veteran presence of Eric Gordon? They’ll push JG?
I saw that you assumed that the Rockets pick up FVV's team option. Highly-unlikely that they do, they will probably decline and resign him to a 3ish year deal with for 17-20m per year so they can free up money to fill the gaps with Giannis coming in. Maybe use some of that money they save with FVV to resign Steven Adams and extend Jabari Smith.
For the trade package, what you had the rockets giving up is entirely too much player wise (The Bucks literally do not have leverage and there is not a market for Giannis now other than 2 teams)– I agree for the most part with the draft picks you included on the rockets end (maybe remove the 2029 1st you included going to the bucks), but the Rockets won't have to and just won't trade away Reed Sheppard and Jabari. I could see one of them being added, but for sure not both — something more likely is they pick up Easton's team option and put him in the trade.
I think a more realistic trade would look like this:
– Jalen Green, Tari Easton, Aaron holiday, (Cam Whitmore if needed), + the picks you included
– Jalen Green, Tari Easton, Reed Sheppard, (Cam Whitmore if needed), + the picks you included (without the 2029 first round pick sent to Bucks)
– Jalen Green, Tari Easton, Jabari Smith, (Cam Whitmore if needed), + the picks you included (without the 2029 first pick sent to Bucks)
Outside Spurs and OKC, who else could make a move for Giannis. You still gave Milwaukee so much young talent. Houston has a good team except Jalen Green did not show up. If I am Houston, outside of replacing Jalen with a better 2 guard, I would not trade away that much young talent. Giving up draft picks is one thing but I don't think it is wise to give up that much young talent for someone who is over 30.
sign steven adams again alongside with a better power forward than jabari smith jr, such as naz reid. trade jalen green and bring another shooting guard, derek white/alex caruso style shooter. give cam whitmore more minutes. use jalen green to bring a shooting guard nad power forward what can shoot. houston with this squad wouldnt be able to beat minnesota, denver or okc.
bucks wont give giannis without getting sengun or amen btw jalens value is not it. they would also want tari and one of the rookies+ draft picks probably. giannis is that expensive if you want to get him you have to sacrifice at least one of the best player + 2 high potential players on your team. they gonna hang up if jalen is the main piece.
AVC and Utility Sports have to be my favorite YouTubers rn
Rockets fan here who wants to trade Jalen Green, not just for Giannis, but for anybody. Seems like for every game he's on a heater he shoots you out of 3 games with 2 of 13 and 1 of 7 from 3. Tired of looking at those stats when we lose by single digits. And that's without even looking at your advanced defensive stats on him which are a huge negative outlier on the team, even compared to Reed! I didn't even think his defense was that much of a liability.
That being said, I don't necessarily want Giannis. I wouldn't mind running it back with our young core, adding another prospect like Carter Bryant, and with whatever shooter we can get for offloading Jalen Green. It's been fun to just develop a young core like OKC did and see where they go. I'm scared of the NBA model of adding a superstar. Seems like it end up in disaster more than it succeeds. See Brooklyn and the Suns.
Great content BTW.
This is the first trade or the Rockets get yawned that I've actually liked and thought could work
I actually like this trade! I’ve also heard that if Milwaukee doesn’t want Green, Houston is willing to offer a Sengun-lead package to the Bucks for Giannis. Question is, is Sengun worth parting with, in order to still have Green’s shooting and potential to develop into a star, despite his terrible postseason outing… Thoughts bro?
