Heat. [Music] What’s going on, Bulls Nation? Welcome in to the CCO Bulls podcast coming to you live from our studios here in West Loop, downtown Chicago. I’m Peek. Where are my guys? Big Dave Bale, BWL Sports, Will to Go, go perfectly quafted. And sitting in for Katie Duffy is our other queen of the controls, Sarah Bear. What up, Sarah? Hi, Bear. Hello. You ready to talk combine, sir? Yes. Yes. Yes, I am. You got your toe tapping in your head now. They have me nod my head just cuz you were doing You guys have my favorite intro music. Oh, okay. That’s what’s up. It’s good stuff. Does nobody else use our song this that intro song? Each each show has it own has their own thing. That’s true. I think we we’ve used the same one for like over three years now, right? not watching the intros for all the other shows. I was just about to say I’m like you guys don’t watch the other shows, do you? I watch I watch like bits and pieces of the show, but I rarely am. It’s not there for like the intro. I like cuz the the outro music is the same or for at least you know the end screen is uh Big Dave. Yeah, I I have heard that. No way. Have you been on another show? Uh at this company? I was on Tavern Style. Tavern Styles and I was on when Kevin was doing the CO sports show back in the day, but I’ve never had pleasure of Cubs or Bears or White Sox now. What’s going on with that? I’ve been on the Bears show. You’ve been on the Bears show. I don’t have a lot of takes when it comes to sports. Oh, stop it. I got Bulls takes. Coach just gets his Bears takes off on our Bulls show. Bears and Cubs. He got his Bears and Cubs takes. I have like two minutes of Bears takes per week. That’s fair. That’s not enough to be on a podcast. Sure it is. With other people, just not by yourself. That’s all. It just doesn’t like me. He doesn’t want to talk to me. Karm’s a crotchy old man. He doesn’t like anybody. He likes me. Everyone likes you, Dave. That doesn’t count. He likes me. It’s cool, man. No, honestly, it’s just because Karm’s a bulls junkie and always wants to talk bulls. That’s true. He is definitely a bulls junkie and um we should have him on here. We did when Yeah. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, we slipping. Uh so we are going to hear from a bunch of these prospects uh at the combine who did interviews earlier today. Before that though, just uh a quick touch base on the NBA playoffs that we haven’t talked about in a while since the middle of last week uh because of you know Lauder stuff and everything. Guys, we saw another team eliminated last night. The top seed in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers went home and they were dispelled in five games by another Bull Central Division foe, the Indiana Pacers. Yeah, and a lot of people had reactions to that Tyresese Hallebertton overrated in that players poll that went, you know, viral towards the end of the regular season. And Hallebertton and the Pacers are shutting a lot of people up right now. Quiet. How about that? I said it with the team I was I didn’t understand the disrespect. They never understood. Never understood. Why? Why people treating them that way? But man, they can’t I I love the way that they can play any style that you play. If you want to go fast and, you know, you want to be up and down, they’ll do that all day. Three-point shooting team, oh, they got tons of that. You want to, you know, grind it out in a half court game, they’ll do that, too. Uh Tyresese Hallebertton is tougher than what he gets uh respect for. You know, people just thinks he’s not as tough. Have you met this dude’s father? Like, that dude is tough, bro. Like, so yeah, man. I think he’s he’s nice and they deserve the respect. And now they’re saying, “Oh, I don’t think they can go if the Knicks win, I don’t think they go into Madison Square Garden and win.” You mean what they did last year in the playoffs? Like, I I don’t understand it. You know what I mean? I don’t get it. Indiana is definitely something that people should have a team that people should have on their radar, man. They They’re good. They’re really really good. And Rick Carile, really really good coach. I will probably do a deep dive on this. But if you’re watching the Pacers right now, it’s hard not to think of them being like the upside for what the Bulls could be in terms of the way that they play. They’re giving constant effort. They’re getting up and down. They shoot a lot of threes. They’ve got this point guard who for all intents and purposes was this prospect who did not, you know, impress as a rim pressure guy or as a shooter. Yeah. and yet he has developed himself into being elite at both of those things on top of the fact that he is one of the best passers in the entire NBA. Um you have Miles Turner who can stretch it out and also protect the rim. Seakum was a big time get for them last year. So I think like when you think about the formula for how the Bulls can move forward, I think trying to match up the Bulls parts to theirs is an interesting one. I think the the key gaps are Giddy having an off the dribble three. Mhm. We’ve talked about that a bunch of that being the thing that opens up his game to where now the improvements that he’s made at as a driver are even more open. That opens up his passing game. But I think it really starts with him becoming not just a three-point shooter off the dribble, but like an elite one. Hallebert is elite. Elite. Having a rim protecting big who can also space it out. Yeah. Um obviously Kobe is like different player than Nemhard gives you more scoring, less defense, but Nemhard has been one of their like, you know, best players. And you have N Smith there who is another really good 3 and D wing who has been at times more than that as a scorer. And then a big power forward that can that can run the floor that can take on tough assignments. I think like the Bulls have some similar infrastructural things going on. Um but like if we’re talking about the draft of free agency and team building, that’s kind of what I would be trying to model myself after because as you look at these playoffs, the physicality stands out and I think the Bulls need to improve there. Mh. But the pace has slowed down for every single team, Pacers included. But the Pacers have still been able to turn it up when they need to. And that’s on both ends. That’s picking up full court. That’s really pressuring teams, you know, for 48 minutes defensively, but also just getting up and down and wearing teams out. That’s how the Bulls were good. It is. And like there were some big buckets down the stretch of that fourth quarter last night. Another game in which the Cavs coughed up near it wasn’t 20. I think they led by as many as 19 earlier in the game. But transition buckets were key for the Pacers down the stretch of that game. And that’s one of the things that the Bulls were trying to hang their hats on offensively this season. Yes, the game slows down uh in these half court uh you know playoff very physical battles. But a team like the Pacers is showing that in those opportune moments if you catch your you know opponent on their heels like the Cavs were a strong defensive team all season. But I mean some of those switches Jared Allen was just in no man’s land like just ghosting and watching by guys fly past him. Hallebertton flying to the rack. Yeah man. What I also like about it is just the mental makeup of them is really great because they will they’ll take your best shot. They’ll take your best punch and still come back and run, you know, off eight straight. You saw it yesterday is a great example. Um because Cleveland definitely came and gave them their best shot, especially when they put in main man Tai Jerome uh in the game who got it all started, you know, for them once he got in. And then Donovan Mitchell started doing his thing and then the game got super close and they but they could not get over that hump because Indiana would not let them over that hump. They would come down and hit the big shot. They would come down and get the and one or they would get the stop, you know what I’m saying, on Cleveland and then go score and then push it back to five or push it back to six, push it back to eight. And they just would not allow them to close the gap to where they can, you know, impose their will and take over the game. That is something that is underrated on really really great teams and it’s something that Boston was really good at last year. They’re not so good at as far as this year is concerned. I’m sure we’ll talk about this, but yeah, man. Like I’m just really impressed with the Pacers and I’m not I’m not going to be surprised if they end up in the NBA finals. I’m really not. Uh obviously for the Cavs, I mean just a disaster after what a 64 win regular season. Slaying them. Uh they went 35 and5 at home this season against every NBA team not named the Indiana Pacers between the regular season and the playoffs. They went 0 and5 at home against the Pacers. Everybody’s talking about like do they need to do something drastic? Do we need to be talking about a potential trade? You know, if if it’s Darius Garland or I mean Donovan Mitchell is that franchise. Also weird that anytime he got MVP chance from the home crowd, he was missing free throws. What’s up with that? Yeah, he missed. What’s up with that? That was weird. But I mean, like it’s crazy to think about like is has their championship window closed if they’re the Cavs? It’s like this core of players hasn’t even gone to the conference finals one time. What? And people are talking about like is is it desperation mode for the Cavs this off season? True. We got to make a bold move because we keep falling short in the playoffs. Go ahead, go. No, I mean they won 65 plus games this year. like they dealt with injuries and that set them back in this series. Um, and like Jared Allen said he got like a bunch of flack for saying this last year, but like the the lights were brighter than we anticipated. Like I think there was probably a little bit of that and at a certain point like that is no longer acceptable, but like this is still a young team with a young core. Donovan is a superstar. He has been there before. He was ready for it. This was like I mean he watched Garland play last year. he was just not himself. And that was, I believe, his first playoff experience. Yeah. Um I think that this is part of the process. I think it’s going to be one of those situations where they probably take it a little bit easier during the regular season next year. Okay. And then come out swinging in the playoffs because when you win 65 plus games, you’re seeing this with the Thunder, too. You are just giving your all all season long. Yeah. It’s a we talk about 16 versus 82 game players. I think that you can make that argument for teams, too. And I think that the Cavs needed to prove to themselves that they could get to an elite level. They did that this year whether they flamed out in the playoffs or not. I think now they need to prove that they can be, you know, a 16 game playoff team. Um because they know that they can get to those hides. So it’s it’s more I think about saving a little bit more juice for the playoffs once they get there. Let me yell real quick at your boy uh Evan Mobley because I told you I told you all before I said to you I shouldn’t say told y’all. I said to you all before the series started, if they wanted to win this series, he was going to have to be great. Not good, but great. His stats for this one, 18 points, nine rebounds, and 1.8 assists. That’s good. That’s what he averaged in this series. That’s what he averaged in these games. And he sat one out, obviously with injury, right? Yeah. But that’s what he averaged against them, man. That’s good. It’s not great. He needed to be great and he was not. And it just didn’t work out for him. I don’t think he was solid just super great uh defensively either. I just thought he was good. He was a good player for this series. No, they needed domination, you know. They needed greatness from him and he he didn’t do it. He didn’t come through on it. I think he has it in him. We’ll see what he does with it next year. But yeah, man, he has to be great if this team is going to take that long long ride to the Eastern Conference Finals or beyond. And uh you know they were talking about at halftime of the TNT broadcast like they they got a lot of good looks from their bigs inside early in this one to help them build that lead and then they just went away from it and started chucking up threes. Like that’s a pretty commonly heard uh you know analysis or critique from from the old heads who do NBA on TNT is like throw the ball inside for Christ’s sake. Like sometimes you know it’s like the same thing as Stacy King saying free cheese 12 times a night. Uh like why don’t they just throw it to voos every time? Um, sometimes that is misleading and and and misguided and sometimes like last night I thought it was a fair and accurate criticism. Barbecue chicken. Like if if you’re if you’re feasting inside, keep doing it until it stops working. Yeah. Let them eat, bro. And the Cavs like they And then instead they were like, “How about we just chuck up a bunch of bricks cuz they shot sub 40% from the field and sub 30% from three in that game last night.” Also, shout out Bulls legend Max Drews. 0 of nine from the field after talking big before the game to his teammates. Huge. Hey, if if you’re not coming in ready to win this game, then don’t bother showing up. Okay. You’re going to you better you better show up yourself after talking about that claim. Yikes. Oh man. Uh all right. And then real quick, touching on the uh Western Conference series we saw last night. I mean, give us two more of these. I don’t know if the Nuggets can win game six. I really don’t. Based on what we saw from Joker and his supporting cast in that fourth quarter last night. Yeah. I mean, not you know, Jamal Murray, rough fourth quarter. Michael Porter Jr. two of the biggest shots of the game consecutively. You don’t love MPJ. The way he’s playing, the way he looks healthwise, taking those shots. Clanged them both. He did. I mean, one was a clang, one was an airball. Really like bail, baby. And Joker’s like, I’m 44 15 to five. Can I get some help? But how about on the other side? I mean, SGA just stones with those big shots down the stretch. You just the two leading MVP candidates just trading. Hey, we got another ridiculous Joker like piouette out of nowhere with the shot clock hitting zero shot. Yeah. In that same sequence and it was like 100 100 103 103. It’s just epic stuff. I think that the Nuggets just don’t have enough to beat this Thunder team. Like they’re incredibly good. Obviously Joic is I mean just insane. Stupid. Just ridiculous. Amazing. Amazing. Even Sarah impressed. You can’t compete with like all of the different ways that OKC can beat you. And we have not seen like Peak Shay a lot this off seasonason or this postseason rather. that was looked a lot more like it. Um, so I don’t know if the if the Nuggets can make it back. Maybe they push it to seven. I think that they’re just like a team that is maybe subject to run out of gas a little bit more than the Thunder. Um, but I also don’t feel as good about the Thunder as I did heading into this playoffs. Like they have not looked as dominant. Um, winning a close game last night was big for me. Like they haven’t really done that at a high level. Uh, and so that was good experience for them. um they’ve got guys that step up in different games and when you have depth like that, that’s great. That helps you. Um and I also think their path right now is like looking pretty clean, right? Like Minnesota’s going to beat Golden State, right? They’re up. Steph’s probably not coming back. You have uh New York probably advancing or the Celtics without Tatum and the Pacers. So like if you’re the Thunder and you can get through the Nuggets, you you feel pretty good about making your way to the finals or even winning at all. They don’t feel as like bulletproof as I felt that they were heading into the playoffs. I think you’re right. Um but but winning two tough games, including that game four on the road, two tight games between game four and game five, I think that was a step forward in their young team that needs to prove themselves in tight ones. Uh all right, we’ll knock out our first couple ads. When we come back, we’re going to dive into some of these interviews of prospects for the Bulls at number 12 from the NBA draft combine earlier today. Hit the like button. Hit it. Do that. cuz it’s Friday. Floors. Floors. Floors. No quick shout out to our guy Jim Cook who in the comments when we were talking about the CAS and Max said, uh, Max, more like minstr Jim always bringing the dad jokes. Uh, all right, let us dive in, guys. You had a chance to talk to a lot of these 25 draft class prospects who were going through the motions, doing their drills yesterday and some more today. They’re even getting some five on five action. It’s televised right now. Uh is that the NBA channel that’s doing that? That is ESPN 2. There you go. Um do you want to do you guys want to start with Cedric because you’re really excited about him? I mean, let’s let’s start with Cedric. He he is the hot name at the combine this week. Cedric Coward, the uh senior prospect from Washington State. Dave, you asked him a couple questions. I did. Sarah, he’s the man. if for me, you know, you got a your game is real smooth like when I watch you play, but you play with a real fire, you know what I mean? Real intensity. Where does that fire and intensity come from for you? Oh man, that comes from when I was young. When I was young, I used to play my uncle a lot in oneonone. Shout out to Uncle Lani. He knows who he is. But I used to play him a lot in oneonone. He would not let me win, man. Like at all. And it goes back to like the thing like I hate losing. So he probably beat me 20 20 something times in a row before I finally got that win. But at the end of the day, when it comes to that fire you play with, I think that’s just something internally that not a lot of people have and those that have it makes them special. So for me, when it comes to my game being real smooth or real silky, like you like to say, it’s just I just do what it takes to make the right play and takes what it does to win. You know what I mean? So at the end of the day, if it looks smooth, it looks smooth. As long as we win, but if it looks, you know, raggedy at times, if we win, that’s all that matters to me. Did you feel like you could conquer the world after you got that from? Oh, man. When I got that first win, I ran in the house screaming and I was, man, I can’t even tell you. Like, I was on top of the world. Like, nothing could bring me down. I could have lost the next game. It didn’t really matter. It’s just I finally got that one win, but Cedric Howard earlier today, NBA combine, flying up people’s draft boards. He’s the man for good reason. Yeah. Uh, he’s he’s the man. Also, shout out Ricky O’Donnell who told me that was the best question that he heard asked to him. Hey, shout out to you. What up, Ricky? Ricky Charisma. Um, Cedric, I mean, I was just listening to and and I’m this is why Matt knows me so well. Why we’re so tight? Cuz he knew how I was feeling when these answers were going on and happening. And I mean, I was just like, yes. I was like, “Yes, more more. Give me more of this.” He He said much more things, much more insightful and enlightening things. I loved how he talked a lot about being who he is. And you know, he was like, “You’re going to get the full Cedric every time. You just this is who it’s going to be. I’m not changing around you guys. You know, this is who I’m going to be. This is how I’m going to do it.” He talked loved the way he talked about his desire to win. He just despises losing. Like he just wants to win all the time. But he is really an unselfish player. If you watch his uh game, you know, if you watching tape on him, like of course he he scores, but he can do a lot of his stuff without the ball. Like he can come off those screens and hit those shots. Like I say, he’s he’s 40% from three. And he a lot of his stuff is also interior, so he played a lot with his back to the basket as well. And his passing also, whether he was free throw line extended or he was in the uh paint is also good. So he’s also looking for guys. So he’s all looking for guys when they’re open. I’m saying. So he just does whatever it takes to win. And you want that on your team. You want winners. Shout out Mike Singleary. You want winners on your team. And he is definitely one of those guys, man. And just the length of being 66, you know, with the long arms and his ability to play defense as well. We haven’t even gotten into that aspect of it, but man, dude, he has a real We talked about it yesterday with Julia, just that real little twinge of craziness and insanity. Oh, he’s he’s definitely got that. Yeah. So, Coward is like the hot name at the combine this year. He was basically like a mid-sec round pick up until like last week when teams really started to notice him. And I think that there was a lot of like trying to keep it a secret, but the secret is out. He is awesome. Uh I I was enamored by him too and just in terms of the way that he talked about his game and just his maturity. He’s super well spoken. He was super insightful. Um I kind of asked him about like being the IT guy at the combine and he was like, “Yeah, none of that matters to me. like I just want to end up in a good spot for myself. I think there’s still some question about whether he ends up going back to school. He did transfer to Duke, right? He committed to Duke and so he was saying like he he feels like he doesn’t want people to think that he’s just using that for leverage, which I thought was really insightful as well. Um, but this is a guy who is a young senior. He’s 21 years old right now. Mhm. Uh played last year at Washington State only six games before having a season ending ending soldier shoulder injury. Uh 17.7 points. Actually, let me give you guys the stats from the database here. Um from the database per 75 possessions, 22.4 points, um 8.85 rebounds, uh 4.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 2.1 blocks. So, and he was a 40% three-point shooter, wasn’t he? He was a 40% three-point shooter. He was uh a 71% two-point shooter. So, just an incredibly efficient guy who is big, long, um I didn’t mention his measurements, which is really what has excited people. 6’5 and a quarter without shoes, 72 and a quarter wingspan. So, he’s got the measurables, he’s got the playmaking flashes, he’s got the on and off ball. He can shoot it, he can score it, he can defend. He compared himself to me to Jaylen Williams of the Thunder, which you guys know, dating back to that combine, I was a big fan of his and I still am. So, I was very into watching him. I thought he shot really well yesterday. He just looks the part and I think he will end up going probably closer to the lottery than even like the mid20s, which is kind of where he is on some boards now. he is very much like the hot name and I think you know he is a little bit older uh 21.8 eight years old on draft night. Um, and did play at basically mid- major schools for his entire college career in only six games last year. So, there’s a lot of mystery. I think that actually might be helping his stock, too. It’s like true, well, look what he could do. Like, just imagine if you gave him more runway. Um, so I think he like honestly would not surprise me if he ends up being in the Bull’s range by by the end of it. and like just I don’t know, we were kind of talking about him with some of the other media folks and team folks there at the combine today and it’s like why not? Like I would I would consider taking him at 12. Like I think that’s a reach, but I do think that by the end of this pre-draft process, his stock will be in the 15 range. Yeah. And if you like him that much, then why not take him at 12? Seriously, man. And and it’s a need also on your team. Uh you’re gonna need that wing. You know what I’m saying? especially have one that can do it on both ends of the floor. The three and D, ladies and gentlemen, is this young man right here. And just the little point guard skills that he possesses as well, just as far as being an unselfish ball player. And I think the best thing I like about him that well outside of, you know, him mentally was playing without the ball. I think I just truly like that because when you when you talk about a guy with that kind of height, with that kind of wingspan, and that kind of mentality, you’re immediately thinking, I’m a ball dominant guy. I gotta have it. You know what I mean? Give me the ball. I’m crossing you over. I’m going to score. Whatever. It’s not like that with him, man. He is really solid without the ball. And he’s coming off of those screens, coming off of those curls, and he’s ready to shoot or he’s ready to pass. And he’s just that means you’re very coachable, you know what I’m saying, as well. Uh he’s open to criticism, you know what I’m saying, and things like that. So, I just I like everything about him. And I hope the Bulls take him. I really, really do. I think if the Bulls have shown they are ones to gamble on certain picks and kind of think outside the box kind of situation. Sometimes there’s nothing in the box, but what’s in the box? But in this situation, I think this is a good gamble to take and a calculated good risk to take for the Chicago Bulls at 12. Uh Jebidai in the comments saying Bulls need a wing really badly and this draft has good wings, which is promising. Um I feel like he slots in between Kobe and Giddy, right? like you can add more size, more ball handling to the back court. He can defend, he can play on and off ball. Um, and I also think like we were talking about the archetype of guys that AK would potentially draft yesterday. I think he fits that because he’s long, he’s athletic, but he also has shown signs of being able to do more with the ball in his hands. And he’s also like a little bit more ready probably to contribute than a Noah Asenu or a Carter Bryant who are way more raw and young. Um, even though they’re much bigger in terms of like height. uh and just like explosion. I I don’t know. I just feel like the current Bulls model right now is like build the highest floor possible and then hope something breaks right. Like I just I don’t know. I feel like Coward just could be a great piece. I don’t think he’s like going to turn into even if he does turn into Jaylen Williams. Jaylen Williams is not the best player on a championship team. He’s like maybe the second best. But that’s a great player to find at 12. Yeah, you’re right. When I was uh looking at Coward’s um write up on Ringer’s most recently updated mock, which has him all the way up at 15, uh couldn’t help but notice one of the names in the uh player comp section at the bottom. Me, too. Iodumu. Uh interesting. Interesting. Uh let’s knock out a couple more ads as we’ll come back. We’ll dive into more player interviews from earlier today at the NBA draft combine. Hit the like. Hit draft combine action and interviews today here on CHO Bulls. Hit that like button if you’re just joining us or if you haven’t done it yet. Gentlemen, let’s next hear from Aza Newell, who we haven’t talked a whole lot about yet. Um kind of has been in that mid first round range and now that we know for sure the Bulls are at 12, um you know, assuming they don’t make any draft night trades, um he is now maybe a name that they can pay more attention to, we can pay more attention to. I believe he is one of the many players who did confirm today that the Bulls are one of the teams he already met with this week. Correct. Okay. Yes. So Sarah, if you will, let’s hear from Georgia Prospect Austin. Hit me. Do you view yourself as more of a front court guy or a perimeter guy in Leaf? Do you think you’re going to be playing some five, four? Do you view yourself as a three? Like where do you see yourself positioned? Well, that’s the beauty of the game that, you know, the game’s becoming positionless and I feel like um I can do I’m translating my game into, you know, more of a guy who can, you know, come off, you know, handoffs and get downhill and um you know, punish a a smaller opponent under the basket. What do you kind of expect to be drafted? You got any feedback on that? Well, I feel like everything takes care of itself and we’ll find out June 25th. You uh you said you have met with the Bulls or you plan to plan to? Yes, sir. Oh, you plan to. I mean you imagine that just what’s the fit that you would see like what do you bring to the floor whether it’s the Bulls or another team how you fit in? Well, they got a young group of guys you know u you know I got to see him on lottery night. Um, but you know, just seeing, you know, how they play and their play style, feel like I’m a plug-and-play type of guy and, um, you know, I’m anything that they need me to do, I’ll, you know, attribute to that. Uh, have you met Modis before? You familiar? What’s kind of the backtory? Yeah, I mean, we played against each other in high school and, you know, he actually ended our season one time in Geico, so you know, I got that memory. Do you have a sense of like what your range is talking to some agents or teams throughout this process so far? Uh definitely first round, but like I said, everything is going to take care of itself. What do you want to improve on most? Um I just want to improve on, you know, accepting my role when I get into the league. I want to um you know, have my three-point shot ability, showcasing that. I know I have it. Um I’ve been doing it throughout these workouts, but you know, just um finding my groove in the league and it’s basically fun. Is there a type of like three-point shot that you feel more comfortable with in terms of like spotting up, pick and pop, coming off of screens? Like where do you feel most comfortable as a shooter? Definitely confident, you know, spot up spot up shooting, pick and pop, um you know, off of switch those two. Do you have a player when you get to the NBA that you’re most excited to go up against? Uh, you know, everybody, you know, LeBron, hopefully he’s still playing. Uh, but definitely LeBron, you know, just seeing him, I I was able to go to the Minnesota and Lakers game and, you know, seeing him play for the first time, it was just something amazing. If you were uh, you know, to pick someone in this draft other than yourself, who do you think’s going to make an all-star team first? Who do you think that would be? Cooper. Yeah. Cooper, Derek, Liam, a lot of guys, all his high school friends. Yeah. Do you guys think you’re better than the Montre team with uh Scotty Barnes, Kate Cunningham, Moses Mod, Don Sharp? What team’s better between those two? Well, I feel like, you know, it was going to be extremely competitive game, but you know, you always got to bet bet on yourself, so I’ll definitely say us. So, one of my favorite games of the year was you going against Colin Murray Boys when Georgia and South Carolina played. What do you remember from that matchup and what was sort of unique about him as another guy who’s going to be drafted out of your range? You guys have different skill sets, but that was fun to see you guys play against each other. Oh yeah. You know, CNB, he’s a really cool dude, you know, off the court. Got to spend some time with him a little bit, you know, before our uh our shooting drills and combine drills, but you know, he he’s so creative in the pick and roll and, you know, the short roll. Um he can get down to, you know, you got to stop his left hand because he’s so strong and he’s strong with both hands, but he’s super creative off the dribble. He might pick. All right, there’s a Georgia freshman and draft prospect Austin Newell talking earlier today. heard some familiar voices in that interview including Ricky. Um yeah, it was cool hearing him talk about you know playing with uh you know uh Modis talking about playing against Colin Murray Boils another popular name this week as well. Uh impressions of of him and uh and then we can talk about his game too. Yeah, I think he’s an interesting kid. Uh a little bit more softspoken. Some of these guys are like love the camera, love talking to people, love like being in front of it, and some of them are just kind of like, you know, I gotta I gotta talk about my game a little bit, but then this is going to be over in 10 minutes. That’s how I would be. Um, but I think his I mean, he’s got a really unique skill set, right? Like the rimroller three-point shooting big is the commodity, right? I mean, it’s like he kind of reminds you of Derek Lively as a prospect in that sense. He’s not quite as big or as long. Um, but like and none of it’s really come together. I think it’s more of like a theoretical projection at this point. But, um, yeah, I mean, if you’re a a bouncy, long, mobile big who can shoot threes and catch lobs, like you’re going to make a good living in the NBA for 10 plus years. So, um, that skill set is something that a lot of teams are going to be really interested in. Um, I can’t remember exactly what teams he said he has talked to, but like I don’t know. I’ve got him kind of in my like late lottery to early 20s range and I could see him like I guess the way I’ll put it is like nobody really stands out to me between like 9 10 11 and like 22 24. So like could I see him going all the way up in the lottery if a team really falls in love with him? For sure. Like to me the Hawks are a great landing spot. He’s from Atlanta, went to Georgia. They could use a rim rolling lobcatching big who also can space the floor for Trey Young. I think that’s the perfect fit. Um but like if you’re the Bulls, I think he’s the kind of player that early in his career, he’s going to need to play next to a center. He’s really thin. He’s really slender. Um and I I think he’s probably mostly a four at this point, but like maybe that’s why you keep Veron for a year and you can put him at the four and Mus at the three. Uh and now you’re super long and defensively active. Um but also you’re not sacrificing shooting. And I think that’s what makes him an intriguing player. Um, and so obviously the Bulls are thinking that too. I mean, he’s he said he was going to talk with them. Yeah. I mean, I like him. Uh, a guy who’s explosive. Uh, I like the high energy kind of players, you know what I’m saying? Like that. And And he’s definitely one of those kind of guys. Uh, he can create his own shot in the post. I don’t know if that’s if it’s a translatable create my own shot in the post kind of thing uh to the NBA, but he can do it for sure. I think Will hit it on the head when he said uh needs to play next to a big. I think he would really shine, you know what I’m saying, in that aspect. Plus giving those skills like rebounding that he has like live catching like you’re not going to be asking him to do so much. uh but just use his athleticism and his high energy to, you know, score and to, you know, put pressure on the rim and to, you know, pro probably uh put teams have teams a little more off-puted offput on the other end of the floor because I’m not saying he’s, you know, a great super defender or anything like that, but you know, tall, you can be offputting. You know what I’m saying? Switchable enough. Yeah. Thank you, Matt. That’s a better way to say it. A couple of notes from our draft database, our our draft guide. Flex. Um, Bonner did this one, so I’m just going to like list them off. He he went into more detail with them, but okay. Uh, in terms of strengths, weak side rim protection at rim finishing, defensive versatility, untapped potential, areas for improvement, shooting, slender frame, refining his handle, and then the swing skill will be the perimeter shooting along with the physical development. So yeah, um there’s more notes on each of those things along with all the stats that we talked about, points, rebounds, assists, blocks, turnovers per 75 possessions, true shooting. Um he only shot 29.2% on threes, but was and only a quarter of his shots came from beyond the arc. So there’s more stats like that in this draft guide, as well as how do you shoot on catch-and shoot jumpers, on dribble jumpers, at the rim, on non-dunk shots at the rim. Yeah. uh plus some good highlights. So uh very valuable tool. We’ve got stuff on Asa Newell. We’ve got stuff on Cedric Coward, uh Colin Murray Boils, who we’ll talk about. So very very good resource here. Go. Let me ask you. Oh, I’m sorry. Go ahead, please. No, I was just going to uh piggyback that and once again plug the uh die hard draft guide that go was just referencing uh for your die hards only. There’s a very convenient QR code that Sarah just put up on the bottom of the bottom corner of the screen. Sign up now, become a die hard, and access this guys. And there is so much info in here for all of these prospects, including second rounders. Um, this this is incredible. Go brain on. And then just the other thing I wanted to quickly note on with Newell is like when you talk about his offensive skill set so far and his strengths, you you you touched on the rebounding. Dave, one of the best offensive rebounding, you know, players in all of college basketball last season. Uh in in the uh Ringer’s latest mock, Danny Chow mentioned that nearly half of all of his scoring production for Georgia last season came on putbacks and quick cuts around the rim. That sounds to me like a player who could fit in very easily and seamlessly as far as what are you contributing offensively to what the Bulls have cooking right now with their fast-paced offense. Yeah, very true. Very true. And guys like Giddy love those kind of guys. You know what I mean? Who’s who’s going to the rim with me? You know what I’m saying? Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. It fits in really well. Will, what I wanted to ask you is about the three-point shooting because I’m always curious when I hear it as a weakness on a big man. When is it for you considered an actual weakness or or cuz I’m I’m trying to figure out the side of man, I just don’t shoot threes. Like, is it a weakness or is it just because I don’t really take them? It’s not my main focus. Like, when is it really considered a a weakness for you? Yeah, I hear what you’re saying. I don’t like to think about this in terms of strengths and weaknesses. I think about it in terms of either concerns or areas for improvement. So, I never say like cuz cuz that implies like he’s never going to be able to do this. And that’s not something that I I’m I’m never going to like tell a guy who’s never played in the NBA who’s 19 years old that he’s never going to be able to do something. I would never do that. Um so when you say shooting is an area for improvement, he shot just 29%. But he did it and I think that that is a valuable like to me the indicators of are you going to become a good shooter are do you have good touch and that comes in the form of shots at the rim like are you finishing things and free throws and obviously jump shots. Yeah. So do you have touch and then are you willing to shoot it? If you’re getting shots up that means you have confidence in your shot and your coach has confidence in your shooting ability. So those are two things that I look at. Um and then the free throw percentage is another one. uh he shot 74 and a half% on free throws. That’s pretty solid. He shot 25% of his total attempts uh from beyond the ark and improved as the season went on. So like to me that is an area that he’ll need to we call it like a swing skill. If he hits it will be because his shooting got a lot better. And so I think that’s an area where he’s going to have to focus a lot. He knows that every one of these players talked about their shooting and how important that is at the next level. and the fact that he’s already working on it and already doing it and already taking those shots in games. I I do think that that is you should consider that a building block and not a limitation. Uh all right, we got to knock out two more ads real quick when we come back. More from today’s NBA draft combine. We also heard from Thomas Orbert and Colin Marie Boils next. Hit the All right, y’all. Next up, let’s hear from Georgetown big man. Big Thomas Hbert Sarah Bear. That’s incredible. You walked in and said this is pretty cool. What’s just been the excitement around this process for you? Uh just like being here, just being able to uh see like how it’s actually like honestly because like this is like a one once in a lifetime feeling. So I just try to live it like live in the moment at the best of my ability. What’s your why for you? What keeps you motivated and pushing through all of this? Uh, I’ll say my mom, basically my family, my mother and my brother because my mom, she’s like been a hard worker since like I was born since like she been working two jobs just like trying to keep a roof on top of her heads and like this is like being here is like my brother’s dream. So like I’m just trying to live out both my my dream and his dream as well. Did your mom push that work ethic on to you as well? Yeah, I think like her just like, you know, working backtoback jobs like just gave me the drive to even work harder so she wouldn’t have to look at it there. Thomas, can you talk about your work ethic? I mean I remember watching you team final on like EBL you know and uh just what this journey has been like because you weren’t that big name that we heard coming out of high school and it’s just a testament to your work ethic and everything but was there a moment you know in this journey especially this year where you knew like okay I can play I can play at the highest level. Uh, I always thought that honestly like growing up I always like cuz my dream was to be an NBA everyday player. So like having that mentality of like oh I can be here like I belong here just like gave you the drive to keep working hard every day. What’s been what’s been some of the feedback? I know you probably had a couple meetings today with some teams. What’s been some of the feedback you got? Uh they just told me that like you know we heard that you’re a hard worker from day one and like we just want to see like what that really means and like they say they just like me how I am as a person as well. Yeah. So like I just try to uh I just try to basically be myself when I’m like in those interviews and meetings like that. Who did you meet with today? Do you know? Uh, I met with Chicago, the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, uh, Minnesota Timber, and I’m forgetting one. You probably all play Utah Jazz. What was your meeting like with the Bulls? Oh, Detroit Pistons. What was your meeting like with the Bulls? Uh, it it went well. It went well. They uh they told me they’ve been watching me like one of the people told me that they’ve been watching me since like I came into Georgetown and like they’ve been to a couple practices and they just liked how like I give energy out to like other players and like how like I’m able to bring the same intensity every day. What kind of feedback are you getting from your agent going into this process in terms of where you might go? Uh he’s said that I’m in like a range between like lottery and like late not late but like early 20s kind of. So he’s just like when I go into his interviews just like be myself and basically telling people who I am. What what what do about your your game do you think translates to the next level immediately? And what some are some of the things you might you may need to work on? Uh, I’ll say like my feel for the game, the way how I read the game as well, and like just like my ability on defense to just read how people are being guarded basically and what I need to work on. I’ll definitely say shooting cuz like my percentages, but I’ll say that’s mostly just like from my confidence like cuz if you were looking at a couple of my games like I hit a couple threes and I missed one three and then I stopped shooting for the rest of the game. So, I’ll say it’s just like that confidence like building back up. Now, I know we’re getting way ahead of ourselves here, but your college coach is very tight with Billy Donovan. Do you get any kind of feedback about Billy Donovan? I didn’t hear anything from Billy Donovan yet. Well, Ed and Billy go way back. What you watching film wise? Who I watch film wise? Yeah. Uh, I try to watch like a little bit of everybody, like a little bit of everything. I but like I’ve been watching the playoffs lately so I’ve been seeing like a little bit of Jokic uh little bit of Trace Jackson Davis like the way how he plays with intensity. So I just try to like learn off those like big things and see what I could like do for him. Who’s your pro cop if you had to choose? If I had to choose. Yeah. I mean I’ve been hearing a lot lately like a young Alu. So, I got to like get into the lab, look some YouTube videos up. But yeah, and get the three-point shot cuz I do get it, man. Thanks. Sorry if someone asked this already, but is the door closed for you going back to Georgetown? Are you all in on the draft at this point? Where do things stand there? Uh um yeah, 100% draft. Yeah. What was your experience like playing for for Coach Boy? How much did you grow this year? All right, there’s the Hoya. Thomas Sorber talking earlier today uh including confirming he also met with the Bulls today uh among a number of players. Um you heard Casey Johnson there in the background talking about how there is a little bit of a Billy Donovan connection to that basketball program over at Georgetown and Sorber saying yeah yeah when I talked to Bulls they told me they’ve been keeping a keen on keen eye on me basically since I entered their program over there. So, you know, like with all of these different names over the next month that we’re going to be talking about a lot, which ones are the Bulls really keying in on. Yeah. Sorberers might be one of the ones that you’re thinking he’s the Bulls will always have his name circled whenever they stray away and they come back to their core name, you know, list of names. I feel like he’s going to be on it. Yeah. I I like that they he said that that they were doing that because that was a concern, you know, for me about the big men, as we were talking about with Julia. Shout out to Julia uh yesterday. Um so to know that they yes, they are looking at uh big guys, they are looking at centers and they’ve had their eye on them uh for maybe a year or two. Yes, this this is great. that means you’ve actually been, you know, doing your job and what you’re supposed to be doing and evaluating talent and need for your roster. So, I’m completely okay with that. Um, so it’s so interesting cuz like I was saying to to you guys, like him sitting down, if he told me he was in eighth grade, I completely believe it. But then you’re like, he’s 16, he stands up. It’s like, oh no, that’s a grown ass, you know, right here. And he has he has that thing about him where he looks like he could just be nice where people might think he’s a pushover and then you watch him play. He’s like, “No, dude. I’m all of this 610 right here and you about to feel all of this stuff.” So, I like him, you know what I’m saying? I think he’s an intelligent guy uh as well. And I think there’s more to grow, you know what I’m saying, within his game. And he’s taking it in like a teenager, you know what I’m saying, usually does these kind of things. It’s brand new. just exciting to him. All the lights, you know, he he’s going to the NBA, man. Like, this should be an exciting time, you know, in your life. And I’m glad he’s kind of taking it that way. But also knowing that there’s still work to be done and work to put in. Yeah. So, 20 points, um almost 12 rebounds, two steals, 2 eight blocks. No. Um and 3.4 assists per 75 possessions. Um, that’s again from our draft guide. You know, I think like to me he’s he’s kind of like a safe player. Like I think he’ll be there at 12, you know, like he’s not one of those guys that’s going to get sniped ahead of the Bulls. I don’t think um he’s kind of like more of a traditional big man in the sense that he’s like a little bit more groundbound. Uh plays good defense in the post. I think he can hold up all right in pick and roll defense. Um his measurements really stood out. 76 wingspan. That had some teams really excited. 69 and a half in uh without shoes on, barefoot. Um so I think like he’s doing well for himself at the combine. Super likable kid. Like so so young. Like these guys are so young. It’s crazy. Yeah. Um, but I think he’s like a very solid option and it would not surprise me if the Bulls took him because it’s kind of like if you recall the narrative around Kobe White when they drafted him in 2019 or whatever it was, it was like they’ve got Zack Lavine, they’ve got Lowry Markin, they’ve got Wendell Carter, they need a point guard, so let’s take Kobe White. And I feel like it would it would feel like that to me. Um, I guess the opportunity cost in my mind is like could you get Roco Zakarsski in the second round and have him be kind of like a backup big of the future um until you find like a real and maybe you feel that way about Thomas Sorber that he could be like the number one guy. I’m not quite there in terms of his highest uh upside outcomes, but I do think he’s a solid player and I think he’d fit great. Like he’s I think he’s going to be good. And I do think like you can say, well, how much does like two inches of a wingspan really matter in the NBA? Like when you’re guarding pick and roll and you’re retreating in drop coverage and you got to have your arms out to defend bounce passes, like that matters. Yeah. If you’ve got to pull back and like contain the ball handler, but also stay attached to your man in a pick and roll and they throw up a lob and you’re not a great leaper but you got long arms, maybe you can deflect that pass. So, I do think that matters. I do think that that helps his stock. Uh, and I think he’d be there for the Bulls at 12 if they wanted him. Yeah. Um, yeah, I I I do too. He’s probably gonna be there. Um, uh, Juan in the comments saying, “Love the podcast, guys. I just can’t help but think all these options are just so mediocre. Everything with the Bulls are so mid.” Well, yeah, that’s what happens when we’re talking about guys who could be on the board at 12 because that’s where the Bulls like to draft. 11 last year, 12 this year. It is what it is. It is what it is, y’all. Um, but that’s, you know, there that still, you know, doesn’t take away from the fact that we’ve got plenty of time, plenty of shows, plenty of days to talk about all these guys in uh in great detail. And we’re kind of coming up on being out of time for today. So, we were also going to talk CMBB because we uh you guys interviewed him today. Maybe we can hold off on that for tomorrow. So, we also have other names we didn’t get to. Will Riley, the Ali product, you guys talked to him today. The big man who was just mentioned, Rocco from Down Under. Uh we’ve got uh an interview clip from him. We’ve got Kam Malawatch. Um Yakonis, the other Alii prospect. You guys talked to him today. Also to uh Mottz and Dexter. I did talk to Rasher Fleming. I saw you guys talking about him in the chat. I we have video of that. We’ll do that uh put that in tomorrow as well. So, um, yeah, but it’s it’s always interesting because these are guys you just are watching their college tape or maybe, you know, if they’re Euro or overseas prospects, whatever film exists them on YouTube, and then you actually get them all here assembled in Chicago this week every year for the combine and get a closer look at their game, at their measurements, and then get to hear from them. Um, and it’s always, I think, a really fun part of the journey as an NBA fan. Yeah. Who maybe doesn’t pay super close attention to these draft prospects while the NBA season itself is happening. And there’s a large, you know, number of us who like really this time of year start paying much closer attention to the drafts. And to hear from all these prospect and I mean, we were just kind of joking about it while listening to that. My my first thought is always like, “Oh my god, these guys are so young.” But but it is also impressive to see some of them and in particular which ones already seem to have a really strong head on their shoulders. Yeah. For being where they are and where where they are about to be. It’s also so interesting like I was talking to a couple of um NBA execs yesterday and today just about like these guys have been watching Thomas Sorber since he was playing you know EBL like three four years ago. They’ve been watching these guys for years. And you have high school games, AAU games, tournament games, classic games, college games, college playoff games, and it’s years worth of information. And then you get to the combine and it’s six weeks away from the draft, five and a half weeks away from the draft. And now you’ve got all their measurements. And now you’ve got all their medical and now you’ve got their interviews. And now you have all this the scrimmaging, the shooting combine numbers, the jumping, the arms like wingspan, all this stuff and it’s like five weeks to go and you’ve got to figure out a way to like determine how all of that fits into all this other data that you’ve been accumulating for years. And like I am not an expert on the draft by any means. like I’m doing my best to catch up on all this stuff in the last few weeks since the bull season ended so that I can try to synthesize it for our purposes and for all of you who are watching, which obviously we very much appreciate. Um, but like this is a full-time job for people where all they do is sit down and watch these kids play basketball at age 14, 15, 16, 17, right? Then they have 25, 30 games in college and some combine numbers five weeks before the draft and that shakes everything up. It’s kind of wild to think about how all that can factor in and that’s why some of these guys can just build like momentum and charge up from midsec round to late lottery. Yeah. Yeah. And like that’s how that can happen. And then there’s hype around it. All these execs are in the same building. You’ll see like all these guys mingling and talking about trades and talking about what they think is going to happen with Giannis and who’s going to go number three and all this stuff. Um and they’ve just got to figure it all out. So I think this time of year is really exciting. I love the combine. Summer league is like more of a social spectacle. There’s like a bunch of fans there. The whole league is there. It’s summer camp. This is like time to get down to work. And for the execs, that means trades, free agents, draft. And for us who were lucky enough to be there, we get to kind of sneak in on some of those conversations. Yeah. Uh and watch the combine. And like I mean Dave, you’re always skeptical. not skeptical, but like you always want to you never take my word for it when I tell you about a prospect. You’re always like, “Oh, I can’t wait to watch this guy and make up my own mind.” Yeah. When when you saw um Such a Coward, you watch him for five minutes, you’re like, “Yep, I’m in.” So, like it’s you can see how that can like so quickly change your mind. Yeah. Despite having all this other information. So, I just think it’s an interesting time of year. Uh and a lot can change between now and and June 25th. So can I mean like I I mentioned it briefly a moment ago, but like the hypothetical of maybe the Bulls trading up or trading down out of out of the 12 spot if they don’t love who’s on the board there and and some team is willing to throw them something. Like I I saw that uh Trey Johnson confirmed that the Bulls talked to him today. I was like, dude, he’s going top five probably. Definitely top 10. Like are you is it like due diligence? Are you wasting your time talking to these guys who you know won’t be able or I think the way that it works is you get 10 players within like the NBA assigns guys a ranking of like where they think they will be drafted the 10 players in your range. So interesting. I think that’s why they so Trey Johnson could be on the top end of the Bulls range at 12. The tippy top. The tippy top. That’s going to do it for those of you watching on our various streaming services. Thank you for joining us. If you want that bonus coverage, just head to allse.com. We cuss. Yeah. Uh Dave, you said you had a shout out or two you wanted to get into today’s show. Yes. You know, you said something like it’s for me. That’s interesting you looked at it that way cuz I never looked at it as skepticism. I looked at it as skepticism was you told me something. I’m like, “Oh, snap.” Like, “Yes, I can’t wait to like I’ll have some some friends who will like tell me you’re going to love this guy.” And I’m like, “Okay, I’m going to love him.” But you’re always like, “Okay, let me like look into it.” Because when I hear the name, I’m like, “Oh, I don’t know anything about this person. Let me let me see.” Like with Learon Phylon, just 20 minutes ago, we were talking about this and it’s like, I’m gonna go watch the film. I’m gonna go watch it. You’re not gonna have any preconceived notions. Yeah, man. Um, so shout out. So, first of all, shout out to Will the Goalie. Shout out cuz the goat, you know, before before I before I uh mess with him, let me let me give him some. So, anybody can write. Anybody can pick up a pen and write. The separation is being a reporter. And I think that’s what separates go is being a reporter because watching him in that room with all those guys getting all those interviews, man. I didn’t I don’t even know how he did that to be for real with you, bro. Like and he I was like, “Okay, I for me I was like, “Okay, cool. I got two people.” I was like, “Who you get with?” He ran down like six names. I’m like, “Wait, what?” Like, “How did you do that?” And he’s like, “Yeah, I’m going back for more.” Stress done. And then I’m like when it when uh Coward was over there, I had Jean. Jean was like, “Oh man, Cal’s over there.” I was like, “Oh snap. Go over there. Go.” I’m like, “Go turn it there.” I’m like, “Bro, anxiety in in the combine environment where it’s just a bunch of athletes all at like various tables going on simultaneously, right?” Yeah. Yeah, man. Like it’s impressive, dude. He’s He’s so good. It’s like whack-a-ole with interviews. Dude, he’s he’s so good at what what he does. He really is. He’s truly good at what he and I love sitting and watching him just being in his environment. You know what I’m saying? And it’s it’s awesome. It’s awesome to behold, bro. You’re really good at what you do. I appreciate it. So, let me message me with you now. So, now cut me down. Yeah. So, the first day I was there was, you know, go came up to me. Yes. Was yesterday. He came up to me and was like, “What’s up, man?” I’m like, “Yeah, you know, we just talking.” And he he was like, “Yo, I’m about to go, you know, make the rounds and everything.” I was like, “Oh, okay, cool.” And I was like, “You need me to roll with you?” And he was like, “You know, either way is cool.” And I said I said, “Um, okay, man. I’ll roll with you.” and go tap me on the show was like, “All right, man. I’ll catch you a little later.” He was out. I did not even hear that. I know. I know. But I was like I was standing there like, “Dude, I literally didn’t hear you. Go big time me right now.” Like, “Go big time me right now, dog.” Like, I’m for real. I’m taking my headphones out. I’m like, “Yeah, okay. I’m rolling with you.” Completely denied. Slap me right on the shoulder. It’s like, “All right, little fella. I’ll catch you a little later.” You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Keep at it. Stay positive in here. That’s what he just always trying to get away from. Stay blessed. stay positive. But shout outs. Um, first of all, people watch this and I find that out also when I’m at the combine. So, shout out to the people who watched this. Shout out to uh Lyndon who I who I met who came up to me. Well, I was talking to uh Zach. Shout out to him as well. And Lyndon was like, “Yo, Big D, hey, man. Love the show.” You know, he was like, “Man, I love you.” He was like, you like bow and all that. And he was like he was like, “Dude, when the Bulls I’ll be like, “Bull. Bulls win.” He was like, “And I do that because of you.” He was like, “All the time.” That’s There you go. All the time. He says that, man. So, yeah, he was like, “I’m a he was a big fan of the show.” Now, I don’t have to tide you over until for a while. Yeah. So, yeah, he he loved the show. He was like, “Yeah, big fan.” So, that was cool to meet people who actually, you know, like that and watch what we do. So, shout out to him. Uh, shout out to Andy who I met yesterday, works for the Salt Lake Tribune. Uh, it was great talking to him. I want to have him as a guest on, too. He didn’t poison you. He did not. We definitely talked about it though. You just can never be too sure with those Salt Lake people. Bro, it was fun talking to him cuz I was like, “Bro, I’m very curious in your perspective.” I know that reference. The Last Dance. Sarah understands the reference. We’re proud of you. Watch The Last Dance. We’re proud of you. 5 years late. But she’s on. She’s right on top. It’s fresh mine now. That’s right. It’s fresh for the youth. For the youths, Matt, it’s all It’s always not as fresh as the uh flu game, though. Not as fresh as the food game. Not as fresh as the flu game. This is real talk. But I I was curious his perspective because I’m like all I know is greatness about him and he’s the best ever. I was like what do you feel? Oh I hate him. We hate him over there in Utah. We can’t stand him. It just it was really great interesting here and he’s really smart you know what I’m saying guy and he has some some awesome takes too. So I would love to get him on the show. So shout out to him. Shout out Casey Johnson. Uh Steve who was there. Shout out to Steve. He said what’s up. What up Steve as well. Uh Cameron uh also said what’s up. Shout out to him. Always great to see him. Uh Jean from the bigs. Great to see him. Shout out to Big Ricky Ricky O’Donnell. Pretty Ricky, of course. Uh Julia Po, uh Cody Westerland. Um Met Sham, shout out Shams. Shout out uh Rob Pelinka. Met him as well yesterday. Shout out to him. Um place right now. So yeah, man. This was fun. Like it was real cool for me, man. Like just going in and seeing these people, you know, and meeting them and you know, just being able to speak with them. David Aldrich. Yeah. Shout out to him, man. Love it. I I got to chat with Aldridge uh Allstar weekend 2020 when you and I rolled into some party and were pretending to be big. Oh, yo, I remember that. And I was just like, “Holy [ __ ] you’re David Aldridge.” And he was like, “Yeah, I am.” And I was like, “Can we talk about the NBA?” He’s like, “Yeah, that’s why we’re all here.” I was like, “Oh my god, I do remember that.” It is really cool. like whether it’s summer league or here at the combine or you know like the every once in a while when you or I will get tossed an extra credential to tag along with goat somewhere. Oh man, that stuff still just like go. Yeah, that stuff is like I can’t believe I did that. It’s another lay layer of cool. the people who make this league run. Yeah. The people who are out there, you know, balling, the people who cover it on on a bigger, more national scale, it’s just so cool to be in those buildings in those rooms sometimes. It really is, man. And yeah, just seeing all those players like they’re tall. They were tall. Cooper Flag seems just really humble, you know what I mean? I don’t know if you got that, you know, from him, but he just seems like a really humble dude. But it’s also cool to like see him walking around with like his friends that he’s been playing basketball with since he was 15 years old. like on the concourse after he did his combine thing and joking around with guys like being real person as opposed to the like you know maybe a little bit more uncomfortable of being on the camera or like just not used to it yet guy that you see on the ESPN set or wherever. So I think that’s probably the coolest part of it. Like VJ Edgecom and Dylan Harper were like messing with each other while the other was doing their interview time. Like that’s the kind of like social dynamic and like friendship dynamic that I think is really fun that you get out of this that you just you can’t get if you’re even just even if you’re just like watching an event like this. Yeah. You can’t feel that. You know what I mean? And also shout out to Goat because I don’t know how he stays cool cuz I sweated through the shirt I had on the second I walked into that building. This is why I got this jacket on cuz I sweated all through that shirt. And when Goat walked in, he had a hoodie on. I’m looking like I know. I got a hoodie on. I mean, my assumption would be with all of the, you know, athletics going on with the drills and even like, you know, um, some scrimmages and all the bodies and all the media that they would keep that place real cool. No. Well, not for me. You know, I’m a different breed. You know what I’m saying? Like, true. The sweat block wasn’t working. None of that. Sweat block was like the bears offensive line last year. Like it wasn’t wasn’t working for you, boy. But yeah, man. Like, but regardless of all that, like, it was it was a ton of fun. I was really honored to be there. It’s awesome that the combine’s just here in Chicago. Like great working with the goat, man. You know that that it’s just a Chicago thing that we get this combine, you know, and and all that intel every year. It’s super cool. All right, we’ll get out of here for today. We’ll be back tomorrow with another live show, same time, 400 p.m. Central to dive into more of the latest goings on at the NBA draft combine taking place right here in Chicago, including some of the interviews we didn’t get to from players today, including Colin Murray Boils, Will Riley, Yakonas, the Ali guys, and more. Hit that like button on your way out if you haven’t done it yet. Then go and with your evening hours while you’re watching some playoff action, dive into that goat sweat and tears and maybe blood. Don’t sweat. Diehard draft guide available all cio.com right now to die hards only. If you aren’t a diehard now, now’s the time to sign up to get access to it. Feel now having seen more of these guys and like understanding that there are probably even more possibilities than I anticipated with the 12th overall pick. I even want to go back in there and like rewatch a lot of the film and like go through those numbers again and like try to figure out who could realistically be in that range because I do feel like it’s a it’s a you walked in today from arriving from being at the combine and like sat down opened your laptop and you’re like I got to switch around a few guys numbers. I was like oh okay yeah man this is fluid fluid. Uh follow the go go follow big day bam bwl sports bfs with Rob Pelinka. Uh, I’m Bulls_PC. We are SE show Bulls. Shout out to the queen of the controls, Sarah Bear, for filling in, hanging out with us today. Always a pleasure, Sarah. Uh, we will talk to y’all tomorrow, 4 p.m. Enjoy the playoff action tonight. See you. Be good. Love y’all. [Music] Peace. Like the mayor.

You guys think the nuggets would be doing better if they had traded for lavine? 🤔
I do like Asa..He’s long athletic and offers decent rim protection. He also can be an immediate lob threat alongside Giddey and Matas. I think he’d fit great on the bulls. Sure, his shooting has tons of room for improvement, but I feel that he can develop nicely while banking on his versatility to contribute immediately in other ways
Sorber might be the best all around big man available. He looks like a nice guy but could be an absolute beast on the court. Would also like to see how could fit next to Matas and Giddey. He could potentially be the next Power forward of the future for the bulls..and if so, then it’s definitely good bye and Gn to Pwill
We need rasheer flemings
PLAYER: coach give me the ball in the paint I'm gone bang and get us two points. COACH: You 6'8" and play under the basket if you don't go sit yo ass down.

I can’t put my finger on it, but for now, if Jimmy Butler and Ray Allen had a baby it would be Cedric Coward.
At 12…just try Carter Bryant ….if not available Asa, Essengue…..in a dream world Fears
Take a look at the size of Sorber's hands during the interview! Damn!
I’d like the sorber pick. Has a little of everything. He could end up being the best big. Queen is only offense and Maluach is only defense. Sorber is more two way and that’s what we need. Has great feet and feel near the rim. I think that will translate
We need a wing-center 3 and D playmaker combo guy. Someone who can start at the 4 and potentially move to the 5 when he is ready. This gives Matas more time at the 3, until Matas adds more strength and can move back to the 4 again and eventually slide our draft pick to the 5 in the future.
Thomas Sorber‼️‼️‼️‼️
Dont be dumb bulls if tre falls down at 12 get him if not go for Cedroc Coward their is something about this giy when i watch him he plays in the flow of offense plus he loves to defend
Def want Sorber although I see Coward kid stock going up so idk
You Can'T compare the bulls to pacers YOU KNOW WHY? WE HAVE BILLY AND THEY HAVE RICK BIG DIFFERENCE
I want Coward! He has that dog in him, he is giving me MJ want to win vibe and Pippen SF possible career for Bulls, allround guy, especially when his defense picks up.
I wouldnt mind CMB or Sorber either, both good pick.. Murray Boyles perfect 3&D alongside Buzelis
