MASSIVE Celtics Trade Update… This has Celtics fans FIRED UP | Celtics News

This trade has Celtics fans absolutely outraged. The Boston Celtics have been only a couple days into their off season and there have already been many many talks of what moves the Boston Celtics will be making next as a lot of teams are going to be reaching out within this off season to see who they are looking to go and trade and make some moves as they’re not going to be able to afford a lot of these star guys that we seen this past season and even before that on that championship roster. Hello everybody and welcome back to another video here on Celtics Digest. I am Patrick Billings. Before we get into anything, guys, you all have been showing so much love to Bruce and I here on Celtics Digest, and I absolutely love it. We’re having a lot of fun here talking some Celtics news. Wish we could be talking about more playoffs, but you know, things don’t fall in your favor sometimes, but we get to still talk salt Celtics basketball as their season came to an end. And we’re looking at the off seasonason here as there’s going to be a lot of moves to be made. Without further ado, let’s get right into this video as we got a little bit of an interesting one here as a lot of Celtics fans are definitely outraged by the idea of this trade. And there is no way. And there is no way what you’re probably saying, Pat. Well, there’s a lot of rumors going around that the Warriors are looking to trade for Derek White. Yeah, Derek White seems like one of the guys that would be pretty untouchable from the Boston Celtics standpoint, but especially from Celtics fans standpoints as he has been one of the staples of this Boston Celtics roster as we look at guys like Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. I think he’s right there right next to him. I I totally believe so and I think that he belongs on this roster for many more years to come. But of course, an article comes out talking about this and the Warriors being interested. Derek White is a name to watch for the Warriors. And this is per Logan Murdoch. Another guy that I think you should look at for the Warriors going forward is Derek White. I think that’s something the Warriors are looking at right now. And this was also talked about on the Zack Low Show, but also tweeted by Logan Murdoch as well. As we can see here in an article, in order for the Warriors to land Derek White, the Warriors would likely have to give up some decent value. However, he would not cost the same as pursuing another Boston star like Jaylen Brown. At 30 years old, White is in the prime of his career and is playing his best basketball. Golden State would be getting a player with championship experience who would fit their current window and help them pursue another ring while Curry is still playing at an elite level. Expect to hear a lot of rumors about the Warriors headed into the offseason. White is a name to keep a close eye on. And of course, Derek White is going to be any team’s dream to have on their roster. I think that every single team other than the Boston Celtics, of course, 29 teams are of course going to want to have this guy on their team. I think he fits well on every single roster in the NBA. So, I think that every team is really going to be looking at Derek White, even if he has a smidgen of a chance to be traded, which I really, really, really don’t believe. So, I mean, the Celtics would really have to be making some blockbuster moves and really start a rebuild. And don’t expect Jason Tatum to come back next season. But Derek White does have a pretty lengthy contract with the Boston Celtics. But if we kind of take a look here on his season as he had an absolute incredible incredible season with the Boston Celtics as he constantly stepped up in so many situations for this team, especially with guys going down and on the defensive end and most importantly behind the three-point line as Derek White this season averaged 16.4 4 points per game, 1.1 blocks per game, fourth in threes, first in blocks by a guard in top three in points, assists, steals, and blocks for the Celtics. And he’s the first player in NBA history with 250 plus threes and 80 plus blocks in a season. I mean, that is just an absolutely incredible stat. We all know how good Derek White is when it comes to getting blocks on guards, whether it’s bigs down low. He’s not afraid to jump with anybody. I think we’ve seen him get dunked on how many times this season? Five, six, maybe even 10. But how many times he’s getting blocks at the rims, too? Probably about the same amount of times. So, he’s not afraid to jump with anybody. He’s not afraid to do anything that people don’t want to. He only cares about the team and getting good stops and creating momentum. And that’s the type of player that you’re getting in Derek White. He’s putting up some tough threes, too. I think a lot of teams that play the Boston Celtics this year definitely got annoyed by some of the shots that he was making. And I mean, he’s just an impressive player. and just to see who he’s involved to in these couple of seasons with the Celtics. I mean, what a blessing to trade Romeo Langford and just some other pieces for a guy like this who’s looking like a borderline allstar, especially if he stays with the Celtics next season, which I fully expect. I think Allstar is really not even a question. I I think that it’s a a real true possibility that can be done with Derek White. And of course, we’ll kind of look into a couple things here as well as we see his contract looking at next season. He’s got a couple years left. He’s got that player option all the way in 2028, 2029. So, he is with the Celtics team for a very long time. And I think that’s something that the Celtics will be considering is I mean if they do get off of Christopher Sorzingis and Drew Holiday which I think are the first options to really be moved here by the Celtics because it makes a lot of sense kind of shorter term contracts and they’re older guys as well. A lot of guys have some veterans, excuse me, a lot of teams look for some veterans to kind of move on to and kind of gain that experience for a younger team to really make that playoff push as it is a big thing to have a veteran in the locker room especially one that can produce. Porzingis being a little bit younger and I think with his illness situation and a lot of his injuries kind of playing into part, the Celtics would really look into moving him more than a guy like Derek White, which again, things like this happen. Rumors are going to start, especially when the back-to-back champs don’t kind of play up to par and get back to that championship like everybody expected them to. But this team was injured so much towards the end of the year. there was not much that they could do other than try and hang in there and kind of eat out a couple of those games. And this is a guy that stepped up. We saw him have 40 plus in a game where Jason Tatum was not playing in. So, he has the capability of stap stepping up. But like I said, I think a lot of teams really do want Derek White regardless of, you know, who you are. I think he fits in with every team and his three-point shooting has evolved into one of the best in the NBA. and just the way that he’s able to kind of just create his own shots whether he’s coming down the court full speed and be able to stop on a dime and pull up or just get a really bad pass and put it up and I mean he’s just absolute knockdown from all facets of the floor. And guys I I truly talking about this this would be a scary site um if the Warriors were able to pick up Derek White. I think that one thing that I’ve really talked about so much, especially with this Celtics team, is that you got to trust in Brad Stevens. And I think that this is a guy that he does want to keep around. But any type of moves that Brad Stevens usually makes, end up being a pretty good move. And it’s not one that the Celtics really sit with correctly, especially in the offseason. But when it comes to Brad Stevens, I I really don’t think he’s missed on a lot of things in the past. And I wouldn’t be too worried about this situation. This is just a little bit of a rumor that’s going around. I’m seeing it a lot over social media in the last 24 hours, but it’s definitely something I wanted to touch on because this is a perennial player for the Boston Celtics and he will continue to be for a long time in his career and I truly do believe that. But guys, let me know what you think down in the comments. Do you think that this is a move that the Boston Celtics make even though there’s KP Andrew Holiday who kind of on the end of their their contracts getting a little bit older? Couple worries to have with those guys. And I mean, does Brad really pull the trigger on this? And does he really want to trade them to the Warriors with how many pieces that they have? If we look at some of the pieces that the Warriors have, right? I mean, look at this roster. Who would the Celtics even be getting back? That is a true question. Jonathan Kamiga is not looking like he’s going to sign a contract. And if he does, it would most likely be a signing trade. But if you look up and down this roster, Buddy Hill isn’t really a guy that wows Brad Stevens at all as he’s a little bit on the end of his career as he’s a little bit of an older guy. Can still shoot the ball well. Maybe a Moses Moody, but there’s going to have to be a lot of picks involved because the way that Derek White plays and how perennial he could be to a team’s offense with injuries and he could really just step up and be a number one option on an offense. We’ve seen it before. None of these guys really feel like they have the value that Derek White has. So, I don’t know what type of trade would even be coming back to the Celtics if something like this happened. But, who knows? The NBA always tends to surprise us. We’ve seen it so many times time and time again. But guys, if you like this video, go ahead and hit that like button.
