Sun fans, can I interest you in a 26-year-old 611 center that has a 72 wingspan that provides rim protection, vertical spacing, can be a connector, is a solid screen setter, is a good rebounder, and has a top 10 DPOY finish under his belt already at the age of 26. I think you might like Nick Claxton. That’s a player that I’m valuing as much as any that’s on the open market. Not necessarily a free agent, but somebody that should be attainable for them via trade with Brooklyn. maybe looping them in as a third team in a bill deal if you can find one for that. Or if Kevin Durant is being traded ultimately, maybe you could loop the Nets in on the deal with that. Brooklyn has four first round picks this season. Not sure if they have a center in mind, but it doesn’t seem like they’re on the same page in terms of including Nick Claxton in their future plans. So because of that, I think there’s opportunity for the Suns to get younger, get more athletic, and get a ton more versatile at the center position.
