Hypothetically, if we got lucky and got number 1 pick last year and drafted matas would bulls fans still think we needed a star or would they see him as our next star after the way he finished last season?

I like Coby but I believe that he IS dispensible … depending on what you get in return . The only indispensible pieces for the Bulls are Giddey and Matas. Giddey will be the central, focal point of the team for the next 10 years and Matas will be the offensive superstar. If Dallas were willing to trade Gafford for Coby , I would do it in a heartbeat. And I would also sign Dante Exum who is now an unrestricted free agent in his prime. Exum and Giddey would be brilliant together with their Australian connection. And both would feed Gafford with endless lob opportunities…

The Orlando Magic pick is the best at 16. We can start the rebuild, with at 12th we can draft SG Cedric Coward and at 16 we can get PF Rasheed Fleming.

Where the team is… I hate to do it, but they should make the trade. Get a pick this year (maybe for next year’s draft), and maybe deal with someone else’s bad contract and see what they can do while they leave more playing time for the younger players like Matas, Terry, Phillips and Giddey.

Coby isn't the problem. The moment LaVine was traded, he stepped up and shined along with Giddey and Buzelis. The three are part of the solution and the Bulls should go all in with the 3. Everyone else is expendable.
