If you talk to members of the New York Nicks, they certainly believe they have a possibility. And they believe they have a possibility for one reason and one reason alone. They think it’s possible that Janes will say he wants to be in New York. That’s why because when you have a superstar of his magnitude, obviously even though he has two years left on this deal plus a player option, if he makes it clear that he doesn’t want to be a part of an organization, that’s not a location you’re going to move him to. And because that’s the reality, you’ll probably need a third team if it were to happen. Uh because of the numbers involved and and the players that the New York Nicks would give up wouldn’t be enough because what players would be enough for Janis. Um, but in the end if this superstar and he is a superstar, if this brother says I want to be traded to the New York next and he tells Milwaukee that and Milwaukee gets on the phone and tries to work out a deal with the New York, it most certainly could be done under those circumstan. Those are the only circumstances that could happen. It can’t be where they competing against a bunch of people. No, it has to be like I want to go there. And they believe it’s possible he may say that. So, let’s play out two paths. One path, the Nick win a championship. Honest can’t then say I want to join the N. That’s just not who he is. Right. He’s an underdog for as long as we can remember. Right. That’s his mentality. M you give me a look. Well, is it an underg mentality if you go to a team that’s in the final four? That’s what I’m saying. So, if they lose, then we turn our attention to the Y. No, but I’m saying they’re still one of the four teams remaining. What if they get to the finals and lose? He can go there. We’ve seen the the president, right, KD. I had no problem with KD going to the Warriors. My biggest issue was KD leaving the Warriors unless it ends up with him in the heat. Um, but I think that if the Warriors won a title, I don’t think KD would have gone there. My gut feeling, maybe he would have, I don’t know. That there was still something left to prove with the Warriors even though they had already won one. The Nick Yanis thing is very interesting because him saying he wants to play for the Nicks, the Nicks have pieces that I’m sure the Bucks would want. They don’t have the picks that the Bucks would want. Yeah, that’s why you’d have to get a third team involved to be able to get Milwaukee the draft picks that they need in order to get things restarted with their rebuild. So that that’s the part that makes it fascinating because now all of a sudden we’re talking about multiple pieces on that Nick team being on the move to facilitate Janis coming to New York. I’m not sure exactly what that looks like. There probably be a lot of different macinations of it. Pretty sure that Melides would have to be a part of it in some capacity. Beyond that, I don’t know the other players that would be on the move, but you would absolutely need a third team to get involved in order to facilitate that happening because there’s no world that exists where Milwaukee is just going to accept a bunch of players and not have the draft capital that’s going to allow them to potentially land the next face of their franchise. Well, I’m glad you asked. So in that scenario, the number one team that I believe Milwaukee would want picks from would be the New Orleans Pelicans because the New Orleans Pelicans own their picks. The New Orleans Pelicans have given you no indication that Z is going anywhere. Would you agree with that? Correct. Slim down Zion looking great at the lottery. Joe Dumars is a been there and done that GM. Not that David Griffin hasn’t, but Joe Dumars is one of the greatest players to ever play and was a bad boy. Right. So Joe Dumar is getting in Zion’s face saying, “I know what’s best for you and if you ain’t going to do X Y and Z, you’re out of here.” It’s way easier for Joe Dumars to say than a lot of other GMs, right? And he’s been there and done that as a GM. Why the 04 Pistons have come up at least five times today? I have no understanding. Well, what do they need next? Somebody wants to play on the outside on offense and can guard a big. Doesn’t Carl Anthony Towns make a whole hell of a lot of sense next playing next to Zan Williamson? Is Carl Anthony Towns for the Pelicans to give the Bucks the picks back? In this hypothetical, if Yanis goes to New York and now you’re going to need Michel Bridges, you may need to get Herbert Jones, Jante Murray potentially, there’s guys you can get involved with Milwaukee. Carl Anthony Towns is a great fit in my mind next to Zan Williamson and I wonder if that’s enough to get the picks back. Point B, do I think Yan is going to end up on the next? I don’t. Stephen A has information that we don’t have and I think there are deals to be made. But here’s what I will say. That’s why that meeting with Janis is so this week with the Bucks brass because even if Janis has a preferred destination you can’t allow that information to leak out there because it takes away from what you could get back in return for dealing right the whole point of the exercise for them if they’re going to trade him should be to extract maximum value. Meaning the maximum of number of picks the maximum a number of players that you could envision being a part of your franchise long term. If Janis singles out one preferred place that he wants to go, then all of a sudden the other teams that could potentially be in the mix are not going to be willing to offer anything. And that’s going to take down the compensation of the team that Yanis actually wants to go to. That’s going to take down what they actually pay you in return for him. So this is a situation where you can’t allow Yanis to cap the market in terms of what you can get in return by dealing him. So Yanis is going to have to be on board with working with the Bucks front office to facilitate him getting to his preferred destination. But will he want to do that is the question. Will he want to work with the Bucks for an office? I’d be utterly stunned if he didn’t. Really? Because because if he didn’t do it, then all of a sudden he’s the bad guy. It’s bad enough that the most important player in franchise history wants out. Yeah. But to compound it by not allowing the team to get maximum value for you on your way out of the door when they’re sending you to where you want to go. That’s that’s a that’s a shot across the brow for the fan base. So I get it. Yan not wanting to weaken the team that he’s going to by taking away from whatever ammo that they would have to surround him with a lot of talent. But at the same time, this is a situation where the franchise is doing right by you to allow you to capitalize on this window at the height of your powers and sending you where you want to go. I’m just I’m of belief still that he’s not going to ask out. But it seems like that’s just my belief still. It seems like this week at some point Shams is going to report one way or another cuz he’ll have it first. What happens here? You’re holding out Hope against hope, bro. Like, it’s not He’s not staying in Milwaukee. He’s not staying in I still think he may. I still think he may. I would be shocked if he stays in Milwaukee. Shocked. I would too. H. All right. I think we’ll see this week. Although they may not let the information of the meeting get out. That’s the other thing. It may be Let’s meet here the Nicks may be part of the scenario. You don’t want anything to get out because you want the maximum amount of teams involved in this thing to chase for Janis so you can drive up the price. You want a feeding frenzy. Exactly. You want a bidding war. So you don’t want any information to get out about this. I’m sure Janis has a short list of teams that he wants to go to. He knows exactly where his basketball future where he wants it to be. But you can’t allow that information to get out. This can’t be another Dane Lillard scenario. Thanks. Appreciate that.
