OKC Thunder vs Minnesota Timberwolves | Western Conference finals Game 2 Highlights | May 22, 2025
That’s going to be opportunities where maybe he doesn’t have to play against a fully loaded defense. Just go get an offensive rebound and create your own. Markstein goes down low. Homer, beautiful little finger roll. The big men go, you know, Richard, that that thought about changing baskets to start when you’re used to on your home court starting in the same one as Hinstein throws it in. That makes no difference though, right? No, maybe only two or three that like to do that opposite. So, it’s something that he’s been accustomed to over the course of the season. McDaniels misses. Hart style with the rebound. Jaylen Williams had an excellent game one, finds the elbow, jump shots. [Applause] Good. Williams makes a good catch on a bad pass and knocks down another shot. He’s in his first two. Armstein finding SGA. McDaniel’s right. Steps back baseline. He has been the mid-range maestro for a great second half. Randall gets inside, throws it up, gets his own rebound. Arstein right with him. Couple of fakes, goes up, backs up, missed it. Well defended by Arstein. Randle again. Missed another one. Alexander with a rebound. Ahead to Williams. Jaylen Williams. The drive. Oh, blocked by McDaniels. Homer gets it. And Luke Dor able to finish. Those are the shots Richard touched on the open. Rich, they got to make those. Dart lines up wide open three. Nails that one. That’s their first three-pointer. [Applause] Williams makes his move. Gets inside. Finds some space. Knocks down yet another. He’s three for four from the field. Williams. Nice fake on Goar. Kicks it out. Wallace. Go a shot. SGA on the drive. Back shot scared. His second field goal. Here’s Alexander falling away off the glass, bangs it home. Nine straight points to lead up to eight. So pure and so smooth. Dante Deep Venting is an excellent defender. But he gets to his spot and ladies and gentlemen, he is a midi master. This is what he does. He gets to his spot, post up, and there’s just no defense. There’s nothing you can do. That’s why he loves you. What do the best offensive players in the history of the game do? They understand how to put you in compromising situations, how to force the official into decision making. Does he get some? Absolutely. Does he earn up most of it? [Music] [Applause] 100%. Joe off the bounce finds Homegrren. Hungren inside. Beautiful move from Chad Hungren. Williams kicks it out. Caruso Wallace gets into the paint. finds Williams falling away. Difficult shot, gets it a go. He continues to percolate out of the gates. But this guy, I’ll tell you, after an abysmal game six against Denver, he responded in a big way in game seven. He was dynamic in the second half of game two and all of a sudden all that JDub confidence. Now all of a sudden that three-pointer starts to feel a lot smoother. After trailing by eight, he moves back up by one. Williams feeling it and rattles in another. He’s got double figures. [Music] connects on a three. 11 points early for Chad Hong. He had a big second half about it. Chad has so much ability. When we talk to SGA about how he works with Chad, he says, “I give Chad the room and Wallace offensive rebound.” Wiggins and Wallace. Wallace on the drive, gets to the rim. So Minnesota has shown zone here in the first half. They go for Randall. Gives us Alexander with the steal. And of the top 10 in the NBA and steals Grenade. Jaylen Williams back out. Caruso sets, fires, connects. You might see the steel. You might see the steel, but at the end of the day, it’s that pressure defense up top that allows for that to happen. And then once they get in transition, Minnesota in game one did not have one fast break point aso throws that up and in. Is that catch too easy in the middle of the paint? [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Caruso left wide open once again. Floats it up and in. Caruso off the bench with seven points in nine minutes. He’s got the advantage. Weight and height on Wiggins backing in. That pass stolen by Gildus Alexander throughout the game. Oh, it looks like there’s still impact tonight. Gildus Alexander. Hartstein the floater gets one go. That’s another one. That’s his second turnovers. Minnesota. This is such a difficult skill. You think Joic, you think Hartinstein was Alexander again with McDaniels falling away. Got it. Nice calm shot by Jaden McDaniels. Final drive. SGA pulls up. Jump shot is 10. 14 for the MVP. About a 5second difference shot clock in game. Gilders Alexander a three-pointer knocked it down with McDaniels right there. Not always the shots you hit. It’s wind you hit those shots. SGA with the step back against McDaniels. Wolves will need both of them to be productive. Gildas Alexander jump shot once again. He’s got 21. Been having some injuries. The more games he’s put together, he’s going to be a future allstar in this league. Go too strong off the glass. Hartenstein thunder look to push. Jen McCann is a great defensive player who keep showing that growth on the offensive [Music] end. Floats it up. In the zone have got to be stronger or better. More activity. So close to the shooter. But Chad just finding the soft area. And yes, Rudy’s coming over and challenge, but he quick shoots it. Rudy not responding right away. That’s the key to this formula. Get those guys on the block. That makes it so much harder to guard. David Williams on a three. Anthony Edwards fires to [Applause] Conley. McDaniels across the lane. Left hand difficult shot. Thunder come the other way. Williams drives for excellent defense from Kylie, but Williams undeterred. Still goes to the rim. Three quick fouls and hardly played in that first half. Gildus Alexander sneaks inside and flips it up and in. He’s got 23. He is a relentless downhill attacker. And in the second half of game one, he beat his matchup consistently. That time he’s got to navigate multiple defenders. A reach and a slap by Julius will not get it done. And how about the touch? Even Chenzo floats it in to Randle. Stolen by Ludor Walker with the foul. Countered and one. Watch how quickly he doesn’t even have a chance to turn around and that ball is stripped cleanly. And then you get it to SGA with the lefty finish through the contact off the bounce. Left-handed difficult shot. Go keeps it alive. The right to do it. Caruso tough catch. Strong finish. Timeout Minnesota. [Music] Seven on the 24. Gilders Alexander pulls up. Jumper’s good. 28 points. And now this is the largest lead of the night. And just Shay, I don’t know what to tell you. America, he’s so quick. And when he gets to a 17-footer, it is a layup. the separation, the quick space there. There’s no way to guard that. When we think about pull-ups, think about MJ those low moments. He said, “Once I became a better person, a better man off the court, my career started to skyrocket.” And it’s no coincidence. All right, listen. He’s everything you want in a franchise player. As Wallace knocks down the three. It’s one of those second half thunderbolts right now. Alexander Walker finds Go knocked away by SGA. Here comes Wallace. Ali to [Applause] homegrown Thunder that first half. That’s the gap started. They’ve got to finish the same way. Wide open Lou Door knocks it down. Jason Wallace drives back for HR with the stuff. Largest lead of the night. And I was talking about Wallace. He knows how to drop time dimes. And look, I’m okay with certain technicals. And a 21-point lead with a minute remaining here in the third. Demonzo nearly turned it over. Reed had it. He lost the ball. That is a lethal combination for anybody who plays them. Wallace launches a three. It’s good. That’s the versatility that they need. Williams finds Hartinstein. Stumbles with the ball but finishes strong. So little handoff, turn the corner. How about the pass? Straight distribution from Jaylen Williams. It’s the cumulative effect of the things Jaylen Williams does. He scores. Alexander Walker harassing Caruso. Jaylen Williams goes with Rudy Goar falling away. Shot is good. Soft touch. Couple of bounces on the rim before it goes [Applause] [Music] [Applause] through. Re stolen by Caruso. One hard drive with one man in front of him. He’s got 19. He goes Alexander. Elbow jumper. Got it. His ability to get to his spots and then just navigating. Mark Dagno told us Kayla Williams drives to the rim. Left-handed right at Rudy [Applause] Goar. Edwards. Goar tips it. Alexander Walker knocked out of his hands. Caruso got a piece of it. Cousins again going at a double team. Jaylen Williams fakes a pass now drives. Goes inside and lays it up and in. Power move from Jaylen Williams. Just under four to play. M Do it. Three-pointer. Rebound. Nas Reed pokes it ahead to McDaniels. Great transition defense and a steal. Williams to Hogren. Blocked by Reed. Williams puts it up and in on the follow. Multiple efforts from Jaylen Williams play. I’ve said it before. This team gets more tips than the feds and here they go up and they continue to play. They do not stop. And Jaylen Williams with It’s not the long twos he took the last game. Blue D on the drive finds Hongren. Hungren off the glass. And the lead was 24 at the end of the third. 22 earlier here in the fourth. Jaylen Williams up top. Right back to Jaylen Williams. Puts up a three. Bang. Jaylen Williams with a big [Applause] three-pointer. SGA inside and Johnson lays it in. Unstoppable. And then Shay, he’s just so impressive. Just look. He goes left, brings it back over to his right. Minnesota’s got to be super aggressive here to try and force turnovers. D holding home has it. Homegrren inside adjust lays it up and in. Jeff Homeren time of death. 10:16 Central Standard Time. This OKC team looks different. They look very different. Another second half explosion and the Thunder are two wins away from the NBA Finals.

Going to 7 with Denver might have been the best thing to happen to this team. They needed to be challenged and know they can come through in real playoff pressure. All the young teams that become dynasties have those moments
(MVP)SGA 38 Points, 8 Ast, 3 Reb
J-Dub 26 Points, 5 Ast, 10 Reb
Chet Holmgren 22 Points, 2 Ast, 4 Reb
Lu Dort 9 Points, 4 Ast, 8 Reb
Alex Caruso 9 Points, 2 Ast, 2 Reb
2-0 OKC, and it was amazing to see SGA get the MVP trophy
I’m soo happy y’all won!!!!

5 words 4 games: OKC IN 4
I think from the second round onward this post season will just get easier and easier. Denver were the hardest match up in the West. Now we have The Wolves who are objectively better than whoever we play in the finals. So we gotta go all the way!
THUNDER🆙

Yes Ayy🎉
Chets oop off the alley around the 8:50 mark, wasn't the best pass, pretty tough finish in traffic. Also loving the tech for the flex
Best team in the NBA
“This team gets more tips than the feds” 😂😂😂
I think what people don't understand about SGA is that he is a total throwback player, and I am talking about even before Magic/Bird. Jerry West, Pistol Pete, Oscar Robertson those type of players. And a lot of people today have just never seen those guys play. SGA is what NBA basketball was for a long time. Dribbling, Mid-Range, getting to the rim, fundamentally sound. He's methodical, he's slippery, he can stop on a dime.
And yes, he gets the benefit on some calls but so has any MVP caliber player in the history of the league. Saw an awesome stat that in the past 5 seasons no one has driven more to the rim than SGA, which is why he gets to the line a lot, even with that said he's never once led the League in FT attempts.
FIRST TEAM ALL DEFENSE
Jdub looks like he matured and is more confident after that denver series.
All I see is okc highlights what a terrible upload 😮
