But the article says Quinn proposed that Philadelphia trades Paul George and the third overall pick for the Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant. The 15time all-star has an uncertain future in Phoenix after the Suns missed the postseason with a 36 and 46 record. So, if Kevin Durant were to actually be made available this off seasonason, which all signs point towards him probably becoming available uh via the trade market, I can sort of understand why the uh Sixers could be viewed as as a destination form. But I think all things considered, does this make that much sense in my opinion? Truthfully, uh it really doesn’t. Especially too with the Philadelphia 76ers landing the third overall draft pick this past season uh in the draft lottery. This is a great chance for them to kind of retool a little bit at a high-end prospect uh to their team, wait on hopefully a bounceback from Paul George, wait for Joel Embiid to come back from his injury and then you still have Tyrese Maxi, you know, you get Jared McCain back from his injury. Then all of a sudden this team could all of a sudden be like a really good team next year and potentially even a playoff team. So, I wouldn’t press the panic button quite yet from the Philadelphia 76ers. I mean, I understand uh the possibility of them seeing what’s out there for Paul George, but if you’re attaching the third overall draft pick as well as Paul George in a trade package together, I would probably want to get back someone a little bit younger. Uh, so perhaps maybe I would explore what it would take to get Giannis, for instance, because Kevin Durant is an older player, still a very talented player, but would he make the 76ers like a wagon in the East? He definitely would, but would he make them a championship caliber team? I still don’t think he actually would. So, um, this trade doesn’t make a ton of sense if you ask me uh, from the Sixers perspective, but if you are the Phoenix Suns and you’re able to get back Paul George, who’s a very solid player, perhaps could benefit from a change of scenery. So, having him play alongside Devin Booker, this could be a perfect landing spot for him. Plus, the third overall draft pick this year for a team in Phoenix that doesn’t have a lot of draft capital of their own uh, for this year as well as the foreseeable future. I would do this. no questions asked. So, if I had to pick a winner of this deal, I’d go with the Phoenix Suns. But, as always, leave your thoughts.
