Needed this
He was so great and spot on last year
I’d rather have VJ Edgecombe
Good job!
Lu came in so clutch last year he knew the vision!
Like everything Lu said but I just want to caution that he seems to be higher on Ace than most. From what I’ve seen there is a consensus that there is a tier break after Dylan Harper and people have very real reservations about Ace. Also people don’t have Khaman as high as they used to. But loved his takes on Carter Bryant and Maxine Raynaud, and also agree that Wolf isn’t a great fit for the Spurs.
Been waiting for you guys to bring Lu back. Thanks! I'm interested in drafting Harper and trading Fox or trading down to 4 – 6 for the right offer.
heat make us have 14th pick
Lu and I agree!! #2 Harper, #14 Fleming or Bryant. And I’m hoping we do something to get Raynaud!!
I’ve been looking for this guy 🤣 he called it so well with castle glad yall remember haha
Go spurs Go !
Lu is freaking amazing. So much basketball gold in this video.
We truly have no bad choices, but I like the idea of drafting Harper and keeping flexibility with Fox. Especially that it fits my preferred timeline (I still don't like picking up Giannis yet)
Carter Bryant sounds like the much needed Sochan backup, great pick up!
Bro, I say give Dylan Harper the keys to the bench. Keep the ball in his hands, and challenge him to be the rookie of the year and the 6th man. That would keep him invested and motivated.
We had Chip Engelland… unfortunately he’s with OKC now
You look like twins
I don’t see trading down, we have not made the playoffs in many years, we should take the best player, fit is a distraction in my opinion, we need the best talent
Really hope our new manu, TP, timmy would be castle, harper, wemby.
Chris Paul is definitely gone now, no? This is a footnote, but I bet our draft luck means there’s no way to have any room for Paul
@1:14:40 we have the 38th pick guys fyi
Imagine Harper and Bryant coming off our bench together 😮 and if you start Castle, Vassell, Barnes, then Sochan and Johnson are coming off the bench with Harper and Bryant 😮 best bench in the league?
I'd have Harper first off the bench for an early sub for Fox and a shooting guard for Fox/Castle/Harper line ups situationally.
Would love to see them package 14 and salary for a mid-20's wing that can shoot
Personally I'm thinking of this less as "starting" or "6th man" roles & needing Harper or even Castle to take on-ball minutes from Fox. I see it as a 6-9 man rotation where immediately our talent level elevates with an improved Castle & Harper being secondary & third playmaking guys, where the first action is Fox/Wemby each play, then the second/third action is Castle & Harper, replacing the Chris Paul, Vassell, Keldon, Sochan as where the ball goes as we get deeper into the shot clock. I think you look at the Thunder and it's similar to where they have J Williams to be a secondary playmaker when SGA isn't cooking & also to be an elite secondary scorer off SGA when SGA is cooking. Harper like y'all said shot 70% in getting to the rim & that's what he can do when the ball swings to him imo so I'm not worried about him being off ball at all, and Harper's 3pt shot was also better when he was a spot-up shooter so I see a great fit.
Raynaud at 14
I watched a video back on 2023 where Dylan and Carter Bryan played together
#2 Harper and #14 Bryant or Raynaud and I'm doin a disco dance.
Wait what? Is that some kind of joke? Lu is just Jude with a beard. Please tell me your related or this is some kind of advanced AI stuff with you interviewing yourself! 🙃
The only way I trade down is if I get Bilal Coulibaly and the 6th pick from Washington. Then I draft Maluach at 6th and then at 14 I draft Fleming. That way I solve my big problems and my shooting problems as well as my need to get a Do-it-All SF that doesn't need the ball. It opens up a ton for the Spurs with Fox/Castle/Bilal/Sochan/Wemby starting, you have a young squad with a ton of growth and pieces that compliment each other and a defense that will be deadly. Then off the bench you bring in so much more versatile skills. You get Wesley/Keldon/Devin/Felming/Maluach off the bench with Barnes/Mamu/Julian as spot players. It has a ton more balance for a team and sends Harper to the East where we will rarely if ever see him. I think its still risky to pass up on Harper but I wouldn't doubt the Spurs could be thinking about coming out with three young promising players from this draft instead of two. Also will help manage the long term cap space much more than a trade for Giannis, and still leaves the Spurs will all the assets needed to make a big trade down the line if needed, in fact it gives them arguably more assets
I would be surprised if Bryant gets selected just because he seems very similar to Sochan. It would make me wonder if they want Sochan long term to have a guy as similar as Bryant to Sochan defensively. I think Fleming is more logical at 14 at this point, but wouldn't put it past them to get cedric coward or trade off the pick to push not getting that salary on the books this year
I liked Lu more once he bashed Zach Collins. Chicago fans still think he's good, and they are in for a surprise next year
Castle is a role player and thats ok ..it sucks that Harper is the 2nd best player because he isn’t a need on the spurs …and I don’t think he makes the team much better for a #2 pick
Can agree to disagree on some of Suacy’s takes. However, this is one of the best eps I’ve watched from yall. Fire topics and great convos and context. This one got saucy. Keep it going fellas!
