Timeline of GIANNIS and the BUCKS’ COLLAPSE after Winning NBA Title

Giannis Kmpo has been very open-minded that he is going to explore options because his goal is to win a championship. Giannis for the first time as a Milwaukee Buck is open to exploring what it looks like potentially outside of Milwaukee. The hope in Milwaukee is that Giannis will provide just as many big moments in the years to come. Although the organization is realistic, but by coming up with a dominant performance as his team faced elimination, he took a huge step in that path and it only goes forward from here. I feel very fortunate to be put in this position and and given a leadership uh role and working with the entire roster with the front office with ownership. I can’t wait to take us to the next level in Milwaukee. With the 17th pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Dante Devincenzo from Villanova University. Brook Lopez is who he is in the NBA. He’s a terrific shooter for a sevenfooter. He’s limited defensively, but like we talked about, Coach Bud wants all five guys on the court to be able to shoot and Lopez can do that. Even though I got a lot of confidence in Benhoer and what he’s going to be able to bring to the table, the Eastern Conference continues to improve. It’s going to be a challenge. I think they’re a playoff team, but 49 wins would be a lot in his first year. The goal of this entire organization was to maximize what is probably the best young player in the league in Antenna Koopo, perhaps the league’s MVP, and for Antenna Koopo to head into the postseason with the number one seed with Milwaukee. We got a new coach, new pitch in the team, and obviously I just tried to learn from my mistakes in the past, know how it feels to lose. I’m going to use that as a motivation. and hopefully that can give me that extra edge and uh allow me to be a better player and help my team win. The Milwaukee Bucks beat Boston in Milwaukee 116 to 91. The Souths lost the Eastern Conference semi-final series four games to one. The Bucks are making their first trip to the conference finals since 2001. I think we had a great year. Um 16 wins, one of the best team teams in NBA history. We got past the first round what we struggled with for a long time and just fell short of our goals. Um we were right there. So, I don’t know. I think it was a great season, but still fell fell fell short. At the end of the day, this is just the beginning. This is just the beginning. Uh my goal is to win a championship. As my dad told me, you know, always want more, but never be greedy. My goal is to win a championship, and we’re going to do whatever it takes to make that happen. I’m not sure he’s the Robin to Giannis’s Batman, but he’s like a mini Robin. Like, I think you need to get one more guy. You have to surround him with the right pieces. Is that money absurd? No doubt about it. First of all, compete. Just try to understand how the system works. Trying to see where I fit in. Try to see what the coach, what the team wants me to do. Go out there and do it and keep working hard. I contribute in my own way. That’s mostly for me. We went to the Cavs finals last year. We lost four straight games. I wasn’t able to go to the NBA finals. So, we got to learn from that, improve on that, and hopefully make that next step as a goal in my career. Every player that plays in the NBA, everybody wants to get a finals MVP. 18 in a row and it was amazing. Played good basketball. We played good teams, played, you know, bad teams, but we’re able to, you know, get it get the job done every single night. Nobody say it’s going to be easy. This is good. Obviously, I want the win. The Bucks are the overwhelming favorites at 83%. This is clearly the Bucks best shot at a title in nearly 50 years. They have not only had the best record in the league, they lead the NBA in point differential from both their starters and their bench. The Milwaukee Bucks lose. The best team in the NBA is gone. And the Miami Heat going to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in six years. Now we can call you the MVP. Huh? No, no, not not yet. Uh, not yet. I got I got to set a goal, which I don’t know the goal what the goal is right now. Actually, I know what the goal is. Don’t Don’t call me MVP. Don’t call me two times until I’m I’m a champion. how important it was Milwaukee Bucks bring in Drew Holiday to find an impact player to improve this team. They are trying to get Giannis a tenno to sign that 5 years supermax contract. I just want to be a part of winning. I’m going to my sixth year in the NBA now. Been on a couple winning teams but you know been up and down the whole time and you know having an opportunity to be on a winning team, be a part of a winning culture was big for me. Giannis announces he’s signing the Supermax extension with the Bucks. And he did it with a tweet that said, “This is my home. This is my city. I’m blessed to be able to be a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the next 5 years. The Bucks need to go to the finals this year. This year is of utmost importance, but it’s not because of the Greek freak cuz I know what I’m going to get from him. It’s what I’m going to get from others. And that has a lot to do with Mike Benho. Any great player needs another superstar player to win. PJ Tucker’s a very good player and he’s a nice complimentary piece. Chris Middleton’s a good two-way guard and sometimes an all-star. Love me some Drew Holiday. Middleton is an all-star lover player and so has Drew Holiday been. Those three are good enough to help carry this Milwaukee team. Is the rest of their roster deep enough? This is a team is going to be judged on how they advance in the postseason. The Bucks with the 115 111 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Milwaukee had never won a game seven on the road. Advancing on to the conference finals. This team fortunate to get out of here with the win in this game seven. Mark on Tupo is set for imaging today. Doctors going to be evaluating his left knee which was reportedly hyperextended. Fans are still hopeful that Giannis will be cleared to be back on the court. And the Milwaukee Bucks are headed to the NBA finals to take on the Phoenix Suns. 118 107 is the final. Buck Stewart without Yiannis adept the last several games. You just, you know, make an excuse in your mind. You know, you’re out there, just play the game, do whatever you can. Um, leave it out on the floor and, um, no matter, you know, what the outcome is, you just live with it. It’s over. The Bucks have done it. The long wait has ended after a half century. The Milwaukee Bucks are NBA champions once again. One of the greatest nights in Milwaukee sports history ends in a coronation. Tucker reportedly signing a 2-year $15 million deal with the Miami Heat. The 36-year-old self-proclaimed dog will bring energy and toughness to a reloaded Heat team that’s also adding all-star guard Kyle Lowry to go along with Jimmy Butler. I’m not satisfied but for as a team to we got to go out there and we know we was the 2021 NBA champs but right now we we just walk again that nobody believes in us and nobody believe that we can do it again. So know achieve it again. We can play with achievement our shoulders again. There’s optimism around the situation that Lopez could come back before the playoffs. And that’s big because they’re the favorites to come out of the East. They’re the favorites to win this championship. To win four playoff series, you need every ingredient on your team. The Bucks are sending Dante Devincenzo to the Sacramento Kings. Some more size for the defending champions. And Serge Baka, a player that kind of gives them a little bit of an insurance policy as they wait to see how Brook Lopez is going to recover. Milwaukee Bucks, they’ve got their three stars healthy. They know they’ve done it. They just did it a year ago. They can get this thing across the finish line. They’ve got great trust in each other and in their head coach. I think Milwaukee is in the best position heading into this stretch. This was a big big news situation that could impact big part of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The initial testing in Milwaukee I am told is a mild MCL spray, but obviously this is a real blow to the defending champs. And the Bucks will fall short as the Boston Celtics advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, winning four games to three. Celebration here in Boston. With the 24th pick in the 2022 NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select Marjon Bo Champ from the NBA GLeagu’s Team Ignite. We get to the Bucks who rightfully rank number one. They have the best player in the world. One worry, it’s that the supporting cast around those big three trends a little bit old. Giannis is the best guy. They’re hungry after last year. He’s continued to rehab that knee that has kept him out of the lineup for a couple of months now and a player without him. One of the best one of the elite offensive efficiency teams in the league under Mike Benho in recent years. Jay Crowder in Milwaukee. I know they’ve been interested. Can he have the kind of impact or like a mini impact of Bobby Poris? Will Jay Crowder be able to sort of have maybe a lesser impact but some impact? Top team in the NBA still rolling. The Milwaukee Bucks a sweet 16 tonight at five serve four. Make it 16 straight wins. The longest still active win streak. Giannis is out. Guess what? This team doesn’t feel like they miss a beat. They’re just complete. Admiring the fact that after the game, what do you see? them at center court huddling together. They’re on a mission and it’s quiet. They’re flying under the radar, but they just have secured the best record in the NBA in home court. Van Yiannis think he’s holding that back. He is. His injuries this year have been mainly knee. Had a hand injury later in the season, but full force on the lower back. And the Miami Heat become the sixth in NBA history to win as an eighth seed in the first round. I’m stunned. It is so quiet you can hear a number one seed drop. Milwaukee organization that is under tremendous pressure in this window right now to win more championships. They were at a crossroads. Mike Benhoer won a lot in Milwaukee. Almost a 700 winning percentage. Obviously won a championship in 2021. Chris Middleton 3 years 102 million. Now, he said no to a 40.4 player option this year. So, this essentially becomes a 2-year $62 million extension. Damen Lillard is leaving Rip City. Within the last hour, the Blazers traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks. Portland also gets draft picks and guard Drew Holiday, a veteran that they are expected to quickly trade. The Greek Freak staying in Milwaukee for a while. It’s a three-year extension worth $186 million. Giannis saying Milwaukee, let’s get it. #Bucks6 and # extended. Yes, money talks, but Giannis has been loyal to the city that molded him. Just seeing the opportunity basketball-wise and seeing the type of environment that they’ve created, the type of success that they’ve had and knowing that I could bring something that could get us over the hump and have an opportunity to win. Definitely excited to be here and it’s been a great experience so far. They are 30 and 13 and they’re fire in this guy. It’s to appease Giannis onto Tumbo and maybe Damen Lillard as well because this is the NBA where stars have much more power than in any other sport. Doc Rivers has agreed to terms on a deal to become the next head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Rivers will take over in Milwaukee for Adrien Griffin who was fired on Tuesday with the Bucks sitting in second place in the East. The Bucks now with Doc Rivers, they’re a minus 500 team and I don’t think this is a referendum on they should have not fired Adrien Griffin. I wonder if this team is broken with the pieces that they have or old. This is of major concern here. Giannis Anakmpo just sits down to stop play. Now, best case scenario, let’s just hope it’s a cramp of the calf. But the fact he’s walking off under his own power, if Giannis is healthy, I think they’re in good shape against everybody. If Giannis is limited or not available, now you open the door for some other teams to really challenge them. This is a terrible event for the Milwaukee Bucks to have to be dealing with right now because they already were playing very well. For Damen Lillard, he reagravated that Achilles. He has Achilles tendinitis on the right side. He reagravated it at the very end of the last game in this series right before overtime, right at the end of regulation. The Indiana Pacers tasting postseason success for the first time in 10 years as they are moving on to the semifinals with the 23rd pick in the 2024 NBA draft. The Milwaukee Bucks select AJ Johnson from Fresno, California and Australia’s Hawks. It’s very important to stay healthy because it gives you a chance to be good. It gives you a chance to help your team. It gives you a chance to win something. When you’re not available, the chance go down to zero. We got to get out of the first round. We have a really, really good team. Our team got better this year. The turnaround continues. The rejuvenated Bucks 13 and three in their last 16 games. Win the second annual NBA Cup. A dominant second half. The Takoupo dominant once again. The Bucks though, they’ve dropped to fifth after losing five of their last seven games. Milwaukeee’s defense has struggled during this rough patch. They’re the fourth worst in defensive efficiency in these games and that’s a far cry from what we expect from Milwaukee with they were winning championships. He’s been with the Bucks in 2013 and he’s become a fan favorite, a three-time all-star and he of course helped the Bucks win the NBA championship in 2021. Middleton has been dealing with injuries over the last few years. There’s still optimism at this time that Dame is going to play again at some point this season. He’s been on those blood thinners since last week and the team is going to continue to monitor and test him regularly. Milwaukee heads into this postseason missing Dame. They’re unsure when he is going to return. He’s been sidelined with a blood clot. We really haven’t seen them healthy in the playoffs since they last won a title. So, we’re hopeful that we get to see Damen Lillard here soon. If he can push it to seven, I think you’d like the Bucks chances cuz Dame obviously is clutch. Giannis is the best player in the series. But right now, I think he just makes it a more competitive series. But you see him grabbing that left ankle. He’s putting no pressure on that foot. So, not a good sign here from Milwaukee and Damen Lillard, who has struggled with injuries, particularly as of late, having sit out the last 14 games. And as we’re seeing this, tensions rising on the court. See Giannis there. Everybody trying to keep everyone away and the disappointment of the Bucks. Giannis into Dumpo and his future, what it means for potential contenders, teams trying to take that next step. His availability is something every team is going to be monitoring. He’s played 12 years there. There’s a lot of equity there. And so, he’s going to have to explore his options.

After winning the 2021 NBA championship, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks looked like a team built for sustained success.

But what followed was a gradual collapse—marked by early playoff exits, coaching changes, and a lack of support around Giannis. Despite his continued dominance, the Bucks failed to recapture their title-winning form, turning a historic triumph into a run of missed opportunities and disappointment.
