So, could the New Orleans Pelicans be trading away Zion Williamson to the Philadelphia 76ers this 2025 NBA offseason? But this trade would see the Philadelphia 76ers receiving Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans receiving Quinton Grimes in a signing trade. Kelly Ubé Jr. also in a signing trade, the number three overall draft pick this year and a 2028 second round draft pick and a 2031 second round draft pick. So all things considered, if you’re able to trade the third overall draft pick this year, two solid roster players and two future second round picks for someone who has the ceiling such as Zion Williamson, I love this deal. Now, if you start to involve players like maybe Jared McCain or players like even Paul George in a Zion Williamson trade, plus a third overall draft pick, that is where I draw the line in my opinion because if you’re taking a risk and a pretty big-time swing on a player who when healthy is dominant in Zion, but the question mark is kind of like Joel Embiid, his health is a massive concern. And last thing you kind of want is to have a front court next year of Joel Embiid and Zion Williamson and the injury problems that could happen with that. So, if you’re able to keep Jared McCain, Paul George, um, uh, Tyrese Maxi, Zion Williamson, and Joel Embiid next year, alto together, that’s a starting five, uh, in this pretty weak Eastern Conference. Like, the Sixers could very well be a team that bounces back and they could not only be a playoff team next year, but like a top three team in the Eastern Conference and a team that has their sights on winning a championship when it’s all said and done. So, I actually love this move a lot. I know that you’re giving up on the number three overall draft pick this year in a pretty strong draft as well as two pretty valuable players in Grimes and UB. Uh but truthfully speaking for someone that has the ceiling like Zion does win healthy like this guy can be a beast and if if Joel Embiid comes back and if Paul George bounces back etc this could be a very scary team next year in Philadelphia. So if you’re the Pelicans I would want to get back a little bit more. It’s not a terrible idea for them, especially if they want to rebuild uh getting back a top three draft pick this year. But those second round draft picks would have to be first round picks to me in order to get this deal done when it’s all said and done. So, in my opinion, the winner of this deal has to be the Philadelphia 76ers. But as always, leave your thoughts.
