Wizards rookie trio establishing exciting future

Wizards rookie trio establishing exciting future

opening night. I think we started our youngest opening night roster in Wizards history. We set the record for most starts in the history by players under 21 in the season. So, it was obviously a very young group. The rookies that we drafted that we had from the beginning of the season, a couple of them dealt with injuries, but all three of them still got over 1,800 minutes. And that’s the first time a trio of rookies have gotten 1,800 minutes in over 20 years. So, for us, we’re we’re pouring into the future. We’re pouring into those young guys. I think we had a group that played over 2,000 more minutes than any other rookies combined. I think they end up getting like close to 6,000 minutes on the court, which I think they took full advantage of that time to get better. And you saw the growth from month to month, week to week, and then like the team, all of them were playing their best basketball at the end. I think that builds something for us to continue to improve going into the offseason. Uh they they weren’t perfect. No one ever is. But I liked how they worked.

Wizards GM Will Dawkins and head coach Brian Keefe reflect on what Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Keyshawn George were able to accomplish in their first NBA seasons and what the rookie trio will mean for the team’s future.
