Tim Legler: The Timberwolves THROTTLED the Thunder in Game 3 π | SportsCenter
Look, if there was any question how the Wolves would respond at home after two dismal performances in OKC, we got that answer real quick in a hurry, especially Anthony Edwards, 16 points in that first quarter. What changed for them? I just thought there was the appropriate level of energy you have to have against Oklahoma City. I didn’t see that in games one and two. I that meant there was no swagger there. The swagger was there from the beginning. Their best player came out, got them started, as you mentioned with Anthony Edwards. I thought that set the tone for their entire team. You know, you tend to relax when you know your best players in a good place and his aggressiveness getting out in the open floor. His first two dunks of the series he got in that first quarter and his step back three was working that dual threat. Anthony Edwards gave us that. Another thing though I think that mattered, Michael. Yeah. In in their zone defense that they played in game two. I thought it put a passive mentality into their heads. This is a team full of athletes. They’ve got size. They’ve got lateral speed. You might not be able to beat Oklahoma City in a series, but I think the best bet is to turn them loose against those guys. Man up, take the challenge, use your activity and your athleticism. They did that tonight. The activity level was off the charts, and I thought it really kind of throttled Oklahoma City. They just did not get any rhythm whatsoever in this game. So, let’s go to the other side cuz you mentioned how when your best guy is playing well, you feel more confident. The Thunder didn’t have that. Their best player, the league MVP, four for 13 in this game was Shay Giljis Alexander. Obviously, that has to change in game four, but what was what led to that here in game three? Well, there’s no doubt that they had him targeted as a priority. We’re not going to let you come down and get these high ball screens, these brush screens, and just eat us up right down the center of the floor, getting to your sweet spots, which means either a pullup jumper or getting to the foul line. Four free throw attempts in this game. He had 28 in the first two games. So they played him without fouling, but more importantly, they just committed extra bodies to his driving paths. Fourth kickouts. Oklahoma City is not a high volume three-point shooting team. I think Minnesota made a determination. We’re not watching that anymore because the 38 he got in game two was easy. Everything about it was literally looked like a practice performance. I think they saw the film. They took it personally. They were going to load up on Shay on the edges of the lane, force the kickouts, get close outs with a hand up, and they were count on the fact that Oklahoma City was not gonna make enough threes to beat him. Now, the game got so out of hand in the second quarter. We’ll never really know, but the tone was set how they wanted to approach this game. It was very effective. And as we are saying, they’re back in the series.

Okc in6
Honestly it looked like OKC knew that the Timberwolves would be playing for pride and would come out on fire and they just let them have it. They can't be thinking like this. This is a dangerous team. They need to put this away. If they let them gain confidence they could become very dangerous.
Legs knows ball
They didn't get any rhythm because Shai wasnt get those ticky tac foul calls.
Minnesota used everything they had on game 3 no way they're going back to Oklahoma City and are going to be that aggressive again every dog has his day and I think the wolves are going to struggle game 4
This is the best game Minnesota has played in a Month – they been playing C games and winning and that doesnβt work against an A opponent – if they are going to shoot 60 percent from the field and 50 from 3 they winning the championship against anyone – OKC will respond and I think the energy will be much better. Minnesota did exactly what a team should appropriate level of desperation can they do it 3 more times.
They should give him the Steph defensive treatment.
Denver almost beat the OKc in the series. They got lucky MPJ and then AG. Got injured
I saw Legs I clicked π€·π»ββοΈ
Good for the wolves. At least not getting swept.
wolves had to get one for it to be thunder in 5
wolves finally got a game where they are allowed to foul without a call they wasted that opportunity gobert isn't gonna be able to set illegal screens like that moving forward those clips are getting sent straight to the league
Okc in 5
I don't doubt the nba uses the refs to rig some of these games. Scott Foster ALWAYS seems to get critical 1st close out games in series. The Extender. Getting an additional game or two brings in more revenue.
What also concerns me now is the nba's deals with gambling companies like fanduel and draftkings. I mean Pete Rose gets banned from baseball for gambling while he's a manager and was disqualified for the HOF but the nba openly contracts with gambling outfits and its ok.
Get the Thunder out of Oklahoma and the refs don't call all those ,ππ© fouls that they do.
The refs stayed out of the game finally
So if the wolves win the reffing was perfect. If they lose ref cheated for okc?
I like the Ant jumped the lanes twice to steal. If they get turnovers push the pace and donβt let OKC set their defense this series will get interesting. But SGA wonβt be passive like this again in game 4
I canβt believe SGA pushed his way to winning the MVP by getting easy foul calls and flopping. This is prime example of what type of a player heβs if he doesnβt get those little pony calls and look what happened ππ
What is GM3?
So basically depends how the refs and league want to call the game πsports are a joke im just mad they dont make my team wjn
Jokic robbed for MVP. Should've been 5 in a row.
Donβt get why thereβs much surprise in this, OKC struggled away against Memphis before Ja went down, only won one at Denver and it was tight, they are beatable away from home and donβt be surprised if Minnesota wins again at their crib
4 fts and 13 shot attemptsβ¦they wasnβt even trying lol. Letβs see Minnesota do it twice. 2-1
