Mavs fan since the 80s here. In the fall, after seeing Luka show up not in shape, and watching the "non-Luka" line-ups all hustle back on D and not complain to the refs, I thought to myself, "We need to trade Luka now while his value is high and before he signs that supermax contract." There is no reason Luka would have deserved over $70 million a year when he plays less than 70 games a year while looking like James Harden 2.0! We got basically 6 first-round picks for Luka: AD is worth 4, we got the Lakers' future #1, and Max Christie is playing like a late first-round pick. There are quite a few of us out here in Mavs Land who speak the truth and were growing tired of Luka's immaturity and lack of dedication to staying in shape in the off-season. Now, we're loaded! Imagine a defensive 5 of Dante Exum, PJ Washington, Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis, and Derrick Lively II. (Not to mention Naji Marshall, Daniel Gafford, and O-Max Prosper)

They will get a handful of games together at best…Kyrie and AD are injured every second game…
