how The Cleveland Cavaliers & Donovan Mitchell CHOKED A HISTORIC SEASON
[Music] They want to believe it. Don’t want to believe it. Still don’t want to believe it. It’s tough. Oh my god. Becky looked at her. I think it’s time we could actually go ahead and talk about these how they how they The Cleveland Cavaliers finished the regular season as the number one team in the Eastern Conference with a record of 64 wins and 18 losses. The second best record in franchise history, trailing only LeBron’s 2008 2009 Cavaliers team who had 66 wins. Do you remember when the Cavs actually started the season 15-0 before losing their first game of the year? They then set a franchise record by surpassing 15 in a row with a 16game winning streak, becoming only the sixth team in NBA history to record two winning streaks of at least 15 games in a single season. The Cavs led the NBA in offensive rating, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, effective field goal percentage, and true shooting percentage, whatever the [ __ ] all that means. Basically, Cleveland was really good offensively during the regular season. Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley were selected as allstars. The only team to have at least three allstars. Mobley won defensive player of the year. Kenny Atinson won coach of the year. And the Cavs just got done dominating the first round with a 40 sweep over the Miami Heat. So, what the hell happened to the [ __ ] Cleveland Cavaliers? How the [ __ ] do you lose to Tyrese and the Indiana Pacers? I don’t know. What I do know is you should hit that subscribe button. Go ahead, hit that subscribe button. Come on, man. Go ahead, hit that subscribe button. If Darius Garland can step up and be Darius Garland every single game in the playoffs, they going to win. How about we start with our two-time all-star point guard Darius Garland, who after making these comments regarding Tyler Herro after game two in the first round, has been a complete no. Clean basketball like that against a team like that. pick on top of hero and uh take care of the ball. Don’t play in tight spaces. Um and pick on their weak defenders. Go at them. Garland played game one and game two versus the Heat. But after making those comments, he had a toe injury. Sat out game three, sat out game four, set out game one and game two versus Indie. [ __ ] that. Hurt. I’ve been hurt. Hurt plenty of playoffs, right? I ain’t telling you to do none that put your body at more harm, but [ __ ] that. Take a pill. Ain’t what you mean. We in the trenches. Ain’t no sitting out nothing. Came back in game three, 25 minutes, 10 points, three assists. Game four, 27 minutes, 21 points, six assists. But who cares? 80 to 39 at halftime. The game been over. That was a [ __ ] blowout. Game five elimination game. 33 minutes, 11 points, three [Music] assists. I get it. Darius has been dealing with a toe injury. However, everyone dealing with injuries and if he couldn’t be him out there, he should have never played. I mean, look at this [ __ ] Garland goes down here clearly hurting. Yet, coach of the year, Kenny Atinson, who we going to get to later in this video, Kenny made no substitution with 5 minutes left in an elimination game. Cavs were literally playing five on four during these possessions. What about the defensive player of the year? Some say he’s actually a fraud and only one defensive player of the year because Wy got hurt, which I definitely 100% agree with. Wy had defensive player of the year in the bag. Now with Evan’s contract extension and the defensive player of the year award, Cavs are going to have to pay Mobly 269 millie. However, calling Evan a fraud definitely out of pocket. I can’t really [ __ ] on Evan. He had a pretty good series offensively. However, defensively, Miles Turner looked like the defensive player of the year, tallying five steals and 12 blocks compared to Evans six steals and five blocks in the series. Again, I can’t really [ __ ] on Evan, who was also dealing with an ankle injury, which caused him to sit out game two. But now, Young Star, who’s on the verge of earning 269 mill, I’m going to need you to bulk up and get a little bit unsofter during the summer. Pause. Need to get a little bit more physical, bro. this Cav team, they was just [ __ ] soft. Speaking of needing to get a little bit more physical, Allen is not a playoff big man. He is not physically dominant. He is not aggressive. You know what bothered me the most about that series? Do you ever watch when there’s a little scuffle where he is? At some point, as the main dude, the biggest dude on your team, you got to [ __ ] somebody up once in a while. Jared Allen is a good nice guy, man. He’s a nice nice guy. We felt like we were prepared. We felt like the regular season went the way we wanted it to. The first round obviously went the way we wanted to. It’s just when we came into the second round, it just like I said, it just wasn’t what it was. $90 million for this soft piece of Jared Allen game one 30 minutes 12 points on six of seven shooting. Jared Allen game two 38 minutes 22 points on seven to9 shooting 12 rebounds three blocks game three 19 points six of 11 shooting 12 rebounds two blocks game four 20 minutes two points 0 for one from the field this was the blowout game starting center only gets one look he’s not in foul trouble of course you’re going to [ __ ] lose Jared Allen is not a player who could go ahead and create for himself Jared Allen has to basically go ahead and go get the garbage, put it back up. If not, set a screen, catch a lob. Guess what? When the Cavs did that all year, Cavs were unstoppable. But nah, come play all time. Y’all want to play hero ball. But I don’t blame Jared Allen. I blame coach of the year, Kenny Atinson. Yeah, you’re next, Kenny. First season with the Cavaliers. Coach of the year. Probably because they finished 64 and 18, right? Of course. Understandable. I mean, no one had the Cleveland Cavaliers finishing first in the East. What Atinson accomplished in his first year is truly remarkable. And I hate to have to do this. I hate to have to do this to you, Kenny, but you were clearly out coached by Rick Carile the entire series. Actually, the entire year. You start off slow at home and fall behind by 12 in the third quarter of game one. You come back and take the lead in the fourth to ultimately lose it at the end. Game two, you had a 17-point lead with a minute left in the third quarter, and you choose to stay playing zone defense and lose a game, which should have been a lot. Game three, you come out in Indie and handle business like you should have. Game four, what the [ __ ] was that? 80-39 at halftime, what the [ __ ] was that? Game five, elimination game at home, you go up 19 in the second quarter. You’re up 44 to 25 with 810 left in the second. And you staying at high school 23 zone. Hey, shout out 23 zone. Make sure you hit that subscribe button. Smash that like button. Hit that notification bell too as well. But you stay in zone and you proceed to get torqued giving up seven threes and now it’s 56 to 52. Then in an elimination game, you come out of halftime with the same game plan, no type of adjustments. Lose the third quarter by 13. Cavs come back but ultimately fall short again. And most of my blame would have to be for coach of the year Kenny Atinson. Hell of a year. Deservingly won coach of the year. Swept the first round but losing the second round one to four. And you had homec court advantage. The Cavs at home this year against teams not the Pacers 36 and5. The Cavs at home this year versus the Pacers 0 and5. They were 2-7 overall this year, 1 and three in the regular season and 1-4 in the playoffs. Safe to say coach of the year Kenny Atinson was out coached this season when it came to this particular matchup versus Rick Carile and the Indiana Pacers. Indiana Pacers heading back to the conference final. The Indiana Pacers. What about this [ __ ] Max Struce? How dare you text me some [ __ ] like that and then proceed to go 0 for nine from the field and zero points in an elimination game. A group text message was sent out to every single Cavaliier player from Max Strus. Stress said simply, “If you don’t believe, then don’t show up for work.” Stru said this morning that he doesn’t think this group is done. What the what the [ __ ] Max Drew told everybody, “Don’t show up unless you’re ready to play.” That boy. Where’d he go? He [ __ ] 0 for nine. Oh yeah, boy. What? I like I would have blocked his ass so fast. Get the [ __ ] off my [ __ ] What about this guy? Ty Jerome. Derek White or Tyrese Hallebert. Damn. This is This is a really tough one. Give me Derek White. Disrespect to to Tyrese. I hope they play you in the playoffs, man. They get crossmatched here and he’s able to just create the space. Unreal. What a game. And how about Mr. Hallebert? Many thought, how the hell are the Cavs going to be able to afford this guy next year after this Pacers series? He might have [ __ ] up his money to be honest with you. Besides scoring 21 on eight of 20 shooting in game one of the series, why Jerome took 20 plus shots for some reason? He made me ask him why Jerome, as in why are you trying to act like you’re Kobe out there? I don’t want to see that bum take 20 shots ever again. Jerome struggled big time this series. one of 14 in game two, one of eight in game three to only playing 11 minutes in an elimination game five, which he had two crucial three-pointers late in the game that stirred a little comeback. I know. And Kenny, why couldn’t you just keep him in the game at that point? You needed some type of spark. I get it. He struggled. I get it. The entire Cavs bench was a no show all series. I mean, the Pacers bench outscored the Cavs bench 189 to 143 over five games. In games two through five, Pacers Benedict Mattherin outscored Cavs Ty Jerome and DeAndre Hunter by himself. By himself. I could have sworn this [ __ ] got kicked out of one of these games, too. What about Donovan? What about Donovan? [ __ ] What about Donovan? Eight years in the playoffs, eight years out in the second round. Donovan in the playoffs. Top five all time in points per game. Third most 50 plus point playoff games ever. Without Donovan, the Cavs don’t go 64 and 18. They don’t finish first in the East. They don’t sweep Miami. I don’t even know if they make the playoffs. He is this Cavs team LeBron. Everyone knows that. But not going to lie, these plays were a little bit suspect. Donovan, what the [ __ ] You’re telling me these guys ain’t gambling? Watch this [ __ ] He got three free throws coming up. And check it out. Misses one. Closing his eyes again. Watch the next one. You ready? Yep. Misses two. You might as well shoot the next one with your eyes closed, pal. And he misses three. Some say this might actually be a good thing. You know, LeBron might actually be coming back. That’s what a lot of people are actually predicting. So, what do you think? Should we blow up the team or should we just make a couple tweaks? Or should we add LeBron? You think LeBron will come out here next year? Huh? Help us actually get it done again. It’ be a 10 year anniversary of 2016. You feel me? 10year championship run? I don’t know. But what I do know is you should hit that subscribe button. Go ahead, hit that subscribe button. Come on, man. Go ahead. Hit that subscribe button. hurts because it just wasn’t, you know, just wasn’t supposed to end like this.
