I feel its "interesting" in that KD is a big name… thats it. Id rather overpay CP3 one more to stick around for another 82 games & mentor
Do you think the Spurs could pull Trey Murphy, or Bilal Coulibaly, or another potential star Wing with the #2pk? We missed out on Jalen Johnson before his breakout, i believe we could grab a 3&D wing in a trade for #2 and knuppel or khaman with WAS's #6 or NOLA's #5. Then have a wing AND either a shooter or big in the draft

The only reason I would want KD is for mentorship to wemby. Between Giannis or Durant you are basically solidifying what player you want wemby to become. But it’s just too much… I’d rather get brook lopez to mentor wemby..

Ridiculous — Spurs have zero interest in KD.
KD makes way more sense for the Spurs than Giannis. KD at the very least was Wemby's favorite player growing up, the admiration is there. Giannis on the other hand is Wemby's competition and doesn't make a lot of sense to the Spurs if you actually follow the team. Giannis is a big personality and demands the ball, thinks he's Magic Johnson out there, the star and on the Spurs, that's Wemby's role. If a big is taking the ball up the floor, it's going to be Wemby. That's what Cyro doesn't get — and a lot of these media guys outside the SA sphere — Giannis would pretty much put a wrecking ball to all the chemistry, the camaraderie that Wemby has built up with his teammates like Steph, Jeremy, Keldon, Dev'. Giannis's personality much closer to Shaq's where he likes to be the center of attention and from a pure chemistry standpoint, I think it's a terrible fit, with some real Kobe-Shaq like combustion possibilities between them. I don't think Giannis is at the stage of his career where he's willing to take a backseat (or has the personality to do it) and Wemby certainly shouldn't be taking a backseat to anyone, especially Giannis. Let Giannis force his way to Houston and Wemby can go to battle against him 4 times a year — that's the most preferable outcome if you're the Spurs and the NBA in general.
It's really amusing to me that fans and/ or sports writers of or from other teams are more than happy to absolutely strip the Spurs of their most valuable present and future assets for one or more players who are near the ends of their careers; thereby rebuilding the other team at the Spurs’ expense and negatively impacting the Spurs’ future. The only way we would even consider trading for Kevin Durant, for example is if we get a godfather offer. I don't think that's going to happen so let the Suns keep KD and let them crash and burn! The Spurs will happily keep their talented young core and their treasure trove of capital and assets, using them in a very careful, prudent and examined manner to build the next 20 -plus-year-long NBA dynasty. Go Spurs, go!
