Major Magic Draft Update – Multiple Orlando Targets REVEALED | Magic News

We have a major Magic draft update as they have set their sights on multiple targets that has been revealed. I was looking through what the Orlando Magic potentially want to do with their two firstround picks this upcoming draft. And I’ve selected three players that I saw from a specific article, which I will link down below, that I think are all very intriguing. They each have a story of their own. And I think that they all kind of fit exactly what the Magic might potentially be looking for. But first guys, welcome to Magic Digest. I’m your host, Patrick Crevy. This is your one-stop shop for Orlando Magic basketball content here on YouTube. Now, 30% of you guys who are watching these videos regularly are subscribed. So, thank you so much. But 70% of you guys aren’t. So, make sure to hit that subscribe button. It is the easiest and best way to help the channel out. Okay. So, as I mentioned, what exactly was I looking for whenever I wanted to see what the Orlando Magic needed exactly like when I was trying to pick out prospects? Well, I think that there is a couple different categories that you could separate what the Magic need. And I focused specifically on some size for this team, some scoring, and players that probably were to fit the mold more so than uh some of the other players that we have talked in free agency, right? they fit more of the culture and everything like that. I have mentioned Walter Clayton Jr. in the past in one of the videos that I had. I had six different uh names that were thrown out there right when the Orlando Magic season was ended. None of these names that are in this video today are included from that list. Um but I just figured to let you guys know I focused more on the size potential scoring boost, but they fit the culture of what is going on with the Orlando Magic. Okay, the first player would be um coming out of uh excuse me, yeah, coming out of Arizona uh is Carter Bryant, 6’8 freshman. Uh he received national national praise uh for his athleticism and he’s got a solid three-point shot. I definitely think that that’ll be something that he’ll have to work on as he gets to the next level. He averaged only six and a half points per game and 4.1 rebounds in 19 minutes. Uh so there is a little bit of question about is that production going to be able to translate to the NBA? is when is he going to take that jump? Is he going to need G-League time? I mean, if we see a guy drafted either 16 or 21, he might need some G-League time. But I’ve seen Carter Bryant’s name mocked to the Orlando Magic a lot. Uh during NBA draft combine interviews, he expressed confidence in himself, as he probably should, as you would expect. He believes that he is capable of being one of the best players in the league, and it’s just something that he has to work towards. A lot of Magic fans on different social media sites were definitely happy whenever he listed Tracy McGrady as one of his best players. So there you have that. NBA draft insider uh John Wermanman from Bleacher Report does predict the Orlando Magic uh will use three of their four picks on forwards in the upcoming draft and one of them with the 16th pick specifically will be on Carter Bryant. Uh he shot despite not having a ton of production shot 37.1% from three-point range. Obviously, college basketball uh three-point line is shorter. So, depending on you, you know, having to move a few feet out, uh back from that and then also increasing potentially the amount that you shoot, that number just inevitably might be lower. But 37.1% is certainly very good and it’s something to be, you know, intrigued with. Uh what he said, Jonathan Werman on uh Carter Bryant was Arizona’s Arizona’s three NCAA tournament games served as a reminder that Carter Bryant’s game and role make him highly dependent on making spotted threes and getting transition opportunities, but he also made enough jumpers with convincing mechanics for scouts to buy his shooting long term. And with his physical tools and athleticism, the play finishing and defensive playmaking also appear translatable. a 6’8 220 pound 19-year-old 3 and D wing figures to draw serious consideration in mid first round. So I need to leave myself some time for some of the other prospects but I did just want to say I understand where some people might not want to take a 6’8 220 lb 19year-old player 3 and D kind of guy even though we need a 3 and D um because France and Paulo are in that same kind of mold but Carter Bryant’s the name that I’ve seen a lot so far. All right, next name Cedric Coward. If you have no idea who this guy is, I got to be honest. I’m just trying to like catch up on some of the the NBA draft guys. He came from nowhere essentially. He had no offers. D3 guy, transferred a couple times, and now he’s at this point where he is a legitimate NBA draft prospect. And it’s pretty ridiculous to even see this. He’s got a 72 wingspan, showcased that at the combine. Played just six games last season before having season ending uh surgery for a shoulder injury. But, uh, like I said, this this player, he played at Washington State, Duke. Now, before that was, uh, D3, just has taken an unbelievable route. And I think a lot of that is being, you know, kind of presented whenever we talk about him. But he’s got some serious uh, he’s got some serious meat and potatoes to what he’s been able to do uh, in his career. Takes advantage of his great athleticism as he plays strong within his frame, serving as a versatile defender. He’s an inside out scorer. And in his senior season, he averaged 17.7 points, seven rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 blocks per game for Washington State. Those were uh those numbers were in those six games. So, he was well on his way to having a very very successful Division One season uh for Washington State. Uh he’s versatile. He is considered a 3 and D playmaker uh and some player that would or somebody that would fit in Orlando’s scheme. He has a lengthy frame, consistent shooting ability. Uh, and scouts have said that they like his basketball IQ. I think playing at tons of tons of different levels, having to transfer, learning those systems. I think that that kind of gives you a lot of experience, a lot more experience than you would potentially have otherwise. Uh, he knows his role. He can play off ball well on the perimeter and, uh, cuts well and works in open space and underneath the basket. All three levels of the game. Uh, these traits, uh, this was written to, uh, and I’ll link this down below. Those traits uh apparently are essential to playing with uh Vancero and Vagner, which obviously we know they’re the main initiators of the offense. If it’s Jaylen Suggs next year, sure having Cedric Coward will be a definite help to what he could potentially do. I think that’s really interesting. I don’t know what the potential or the peak could be for him, but it’s something to watch. I’ve seen his name a lot. Liam McNeely, forward out of Yukon, is the next player that I’m going to talk about and the last player. uh his stock fell after suffering an ankle injury during the last season. He missed significant time and after carrying the offensive load, his efficiency did end up getting worse, but he’s just short of 68 and he had a little bit of a redemption at the combine in a sense and and that and that was really good for him. That was really clutch. They needed to check out his three-point shooting to see if that was something that he was capable of uh g of doing and he was. He was able to check that box. Now, uh, the thought for Liam McNeely and the angle for him to go to the Orlando Magic is that he is kind of what Jet Howard wasn’t. So, if Jet Howard’s future is uncertain, you bring in Liam McNeely and he could be that 3 and D wing that can come off the bench, shoot well, about the same size, and that is his path for the Orlando Magic. Now, uh, he did play well when he was at Yukon. And obviously being at Yukon, you’re kind of you’re under the national spotlight. you’re one of the best teams in college basketball to be able to play there does say something about how you are as a basketball player, but I’m just going to say his averages and everything like that and give you guys some of that information really quick. He averaged 14 and a half points per game last year at Yukon. He only shot 31.7% from three on five and a half attempts though last year. Uh that was partly obviously due to that ankle injury that I mentioned earlier. slowed him down a little bit, but he put together seven games making at least three three-pointers last year, including a five for 10 showing in a 38 point, 10 rebound game against Kraton. So, I guess that would kind of be his peak, his top-of-the-line game, his best game in college basketball. And as I mentioned at the NBA draft combine, he needed to do something. He needed to show that he had that shooting. He needed to show that he could do that at the NBA level and from the NBA distance. Made 27 of 52 shots in shooting drills at the NBA draft combine. And as I mentioned, just under 68. He’s got a 6 8 and 1/2 uh inch foot and 8 and 12 inch wingspan. Uh there are a few questions. Um but his shooting is there and that is something that if the Orlando Magic want it, he could be that Jet Howard replacement. Now obviously there are tons of names. One being Walter Clayton Jr. Uh others being some of the other top guys maybe in the front court, maybe another center that can score. Uh we’re going to talk about the draft a lot more as it is approaching very fast. summer league is only like six weeks away. So, uh, make sure to stay tuned for all of that draft content down below. As always, I will link the article that I get this from and, uh, so you guys can read it, check it out for yourself, do your own research, as well as check out the other NBA YouTube channel that I have as well. That, uh, support over there would mean a lot to me. Uh, and as always, I will see you guys next time with more Orlando Magic basketball content.

  1. The magic should try to trade all their draft picks they already have to many projects on the roster

  2. Do you watch the team? How many 6’8” players ,that cant shoot, do we need?
We need a playmaker and shooting. How can you not know that?

  3. If Rasheer Flemming is available at 25 we need him, maybe even 16. 6'9 shooter 7'5 wingspan 21 y/o and a very good defender but I already know we won't draft him smh
