NBA LIVE! New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers GAME 5 LIVE | May 29, 2025 | Eastern Conf. Finals 2K25

[Music] And we are underway. He’s still grabbing at it. Here’s Ojan Nobi off the inbound trying to get past Miles Turner off one leg off the window. And as his handle has tightened, it’s allowed him to do a little bit more. They’d like to see him be more aggressive. That’s Seakum getting free for two. Shoot over the top. Use your length and size and understand. He’s going to score. Mid-range Jay from Turner is good. Gentleman out of trouble. Sets up Siaka. Pull up Jay over Hart. Swish. Plenty of game for that guy. Towns battling with Turner. Encouragement from the crowd. That short hook is good. Be disruptive at the point of attack. Look at the pressure. Clock already winding down. Bridge is going to have to make a play. The fadeaway drops. Brunson down the lane. The floater is good. He’s on the scoreboard. Back in front. Super physical. Hold them off. Matan corner three drops. Averaged 15 points per game a season ago. Torn labram. Kept him out of the postseason. Brunson for three. Over to Anovi. Won’t take the corner three. Instead drives, passes inside the Towns who nearly turns it over. Gets it back inside and the hammer. Burton out there with some key reserves from the Pacers. They had the top scoring bench in the NBA a season ago. They rotated. Mathan on the drive, the step through and the 4624 on Wednesday. 180 here on the Knicks. Here’s McBride. So good. Jackson making the catch. Do a double. Finds Walker outside. Beautiful ball movement. Matan cash 52% early on. Here’s Payne. Can’t hit the T. Sims wanted the follow slam. Quickly up ahead. Topin. The catch and the layin. Here’s Payne. Turns a corner. The layin drops. But the Knicks bench obviously is a question mark. Dante Devincenzo no longer here. He has proven himself. Baseline drive gets out of trouble. Gets it back. ISO with N Smith. Like this matchup. Pull up. Got it. Eight points for Jaylen Brunson. Hallebertton pocket pass. Turner hanging bucket and the foul. Fouls now on Miles Turner. Brunson gives it up. Josh Hart for three. Good. More confident three-point shooter and then absolutely battles Pascal Seattle. Beautiful in dribble. Lefty lane drop. Bridges the fade away. teams with at least 47 wins for the first time in 25 years. Off the turnover, Nimhar quickly ahead to N Smith getting up for the throw down outside extra pass. Josh Hart can’t hit the three. Offensive rebound to Towns. He’s been aggressive on the glass. The short hook is good. And adding Caruso and Hardenstein to the mix. Scary. Turner. The lay in off the feed from Siaka. 7255. Still a lot of time left in this one Brunson. The floater is pure finals last season with Minnesota. Change of scenery, but there’s familiarity. This isn’t far from home. Carl Anthony Towns who grew up a Knicks fan. That’s McConnell with the finish inside. It’s not going to be required from him, but you you can post them. You can run your offense through them at times if need be. Ben Shepard off the bench and on the scoreboard which Steph then laughed about and thought it was funny. He said he’ll be watching tonight and he’s going to be holding Tyrese to it if the nap doesn’t seem to work and so far one of the highest scoring offenses in NBA history. This is McBride over in the corner for Bridges. Rattling in the fourth quarter underway and the Knicks have been steamrolling since late second quarter. Hopeful Wiseman will be able to provide some front court jab there wishing him a speedy recovery. Oh, beautiful feed to Jackson for the alley. So these minutes are important for guys. Here’s McBride deep three. Man, his improvement inside topping in one motion puts it through. They really could have used M during that postseason run a season ago. Volleyball with that was close to an offensive foul. I thought right in the hands of Matine again. ISO on Anovi. Quality defender. Doesn’t matter. Matine makes the play. Stanton Homer. These fans are locked in and count it. Plus the foul. The six man of the year discussion. Brunson for three. Yes. in regulation. Pay turning the corner, bucket, and the [Music] foul. Let [Music] [Music] me show you. Heat. Heat. [Music] N. Heat. Heat. N. [Music] [Music] [Music] That one drops. He ties it up. And Hallebertton’s got the ball here for Indiana. Seakum outside and the foul called on Pascal Seakum. That’s his fourth foul of the conference. And that fourth foul, guys, might force him to scale back the aggression from the defensive standpoint. He does not need nor does the team need number five. On the top end, he’s jacked in for Pascal Siaka. Now here’s Towns. He’s got 34. Here’s Brunson. Oh, Brunson got hit and still made it go. You’ve got to give them a lot of credit for just extremely impressive with the rally they made. I mean, we’ll see how much their comeback might have taken out of them. We’ll see if they can keep that foot on the pedal. Turner with a screen for Hallebertton over Brunson. No good. Unable to end this run. I wonder what the score would be if they weren’t controlling the back. It’s clearly been their edge. And in a close game like this, you look for every edge you can find. There’s Brunson from deep. And it just seems that every pass they make is leading to a score. Just great ball movement. Pacers trail by five. And Rick Corleile decides to call timeout. He wants to check in with his team and [Applause] regroup on your feet and taking a lead. That is your next city answer. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] So it’s the Pacers now trailing by [Applause] five. tapping against Towns. Turner for three and once again off the mark by Indiana. No matter what looks they get, they just can’t convert to stop this run. And you know, they’ve got to be careful cuz this is when the team concept breaks down and guys start playing hero ball. Now here’s Bridges. Robinson sets a screen for Bridges. Limard grabs the board. You know, he just has not been himself this period. just too inconsistent up and down at the offensive end. And slammed in by Turner and with a monster finish, he stops an 110 run by the Knicks. The Knicks leading by [Applause] three. Pass to Brunson. Back to Towns. Just five to shoot. Here’s Bridges off target with his three and the stroke definitely lacking confidence this quarter. Nothing on target to can’t get it to go and that was lining up to be a huge alley but they just couldn’t quite connect. And you know guys always a tough catch on the placement and timing have to be close to perfect. Now here’s Brunson. 17 points in the game and Towns missing. That’s one he knows he should have drank. Now here’s Nmith. He’s guarded closely. Hands to [Applause] Hallebertton. It’s rebounded by New York. Hart with it. He’s got five. Obed up there for Robinson and it’s out of bounds. Indeed. They say it was last touched by Brunson. No clue where that pass was going. That is a brutal turnover. So for the Knicks, Aua comes in for Towns and Miles McBride subbed in for Josh Hart. Then for the Pacers, Bryant comes in for Turner. And it’s TJ McConnell in for Andrew Nehar. Now here’s McConnell. 13 points in the game. Now here’s Topin. Covered by Aua. Tapen kicks to McConnell. Shoots over Brumson and a little luck that time, but it drops. McConnell’s got 15 points. And look at how quick he was to bite on the pump fake. Left his feet way too soon. Bridget for three. Can’t hit that one. But still eventually you got to feel like he’ll start knocking those pass to Hbert over. No good off the front. The Knicks with the lead. Brunson up top. He’s covered by Hallebertton. Back to Brunson. Hallebertton with the steel. 112 left to play here in the third. Hallebert. So versatile and skilled. This guy finds ways to keep the defense off balance pretty consistently. [Applause] How do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for New York? You know, all game long they’ve imposed their will on the interior, scoring a lot of points in the painted area. And we’re also seeing a lot from them at the arc in this one. Tonight, it’s been all about that three ball for these guys. ties it up and this next one could give them the lead. And it’s been an outstanding game for them at the free throw line, not missing their chances when they get them. And New York making a change here. Haynes checked in. And that one falls. And that puts him up by one point. And that’s another area where he is just a superb player. Excellent at the free throw line. Now here’s Bridges. Not a lot of room and that one good. And for the night, Bridges is cooking with grease. They’re showing no signs of slowing down. [Music] Outside makes it off the glass. Hallebertton’s got 20. He has created some terrific opportunities for himself and really made the most of it. Payne pick kicks to Robinson. Aua the pass to Robinson. Now here’s Payne to the middle. Here’s Aua. The dunk by Aua. Third quarter here and five lead changes so far guys. Neither team has been able to pull away. 14 ft away. Robinson pulls it in. Robinson’s got four rebounds in this game. Down low. Here’s Aua. The dunk by Aua. Oh, an aggressive move and fantastic finish. Trying to send a message with that slam. I think that’s exactly how you send it. Two hands and down. And we just finished the third quarter and we’ve got a tight ball game here. It’s the Knicks up by three and we’ll have the start of a fourth quarter for you as soon as we get back from this short break. And a moment now as we take a look at our State Fists of the game. Yeah, an easy choice tonight. Look at the precision on this pass. Put it on a platter for him. Served him up a tasty room service right there, boy. So glad to have you with us here as we bring you more action from courtside at game five. Miles McBride out there with Cameron B. Then it’s OG Anobi. Then it’s Mitchell Robinson and it’s Towns in at the four spot. That’s the five for New York right [Applause] now. And here’s Payne. An Obi [Applause] outside line two shots. That one is off. Make sure [Applause] and he’s good on the second. And at this point in the game, there can be a massive difference between a two and a three-point advantage. McConnell with it working on pain. Hallebertton [Applause] outside. Six on the shot clock. Nice job by Hallebertton showing you the toughness that time going right into that defense and drawing the foul. 15. [Applause] And the first one is just one of those young guys that has a really well-rounded game. Makes shots pretty much from anywhere on the floor. Aua, he’s checked in for New York. [Applause] Hallebertton hits them both. Seems like Hallebertton is always looking to do a little more. Always making the extra effort. That’s fairly rare. Bane looking around. Towns a screen on McConnell and Towns the bucket on the assist from Payton. Haynes got his sixth assist on the night. Well, he’s demanding the ball. He wants it and he’s coming through. I mean, you can see why his teammates trust him down the stretch, guys. Now, here’s Topper covered by a now to Hallebertton over Hallebertton. No good. You You almost have to assume he’s going to knock those down when he does that. Oh, the officials are all over them. Clearly a foul. I mean, didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle. I mean, you got to play without fouls. line. Two shots on the miss. That free throw no good. Andrew Near checked in for TJ McConnell. [Applause] [Applause] And he sinks the second. Here’s Nesmith. [Applause] to the inside. Towns with the steel inside. The Pacers pull it in. And even threeon-ree [Applause] break. Nemo with it to Indiana moving the ball. shoots from the right block. Indiana again missing. New York leading by three. Towns dishes to [Applause] paint. McBride with the ball. Mard covering this one for three. Good on the three-point shot on Hob’s got nine points here in the second half. He threw one from deep in the first half. Doing it again here in the second. And so it’s the carile here calling timeout. Wants to make sure everybody’s coordinated and [Music] intent. Now take a look for New York. Robinson’s checked in for Precious AU. And it’s Josh Hard in for paint. And while we’ve got a moment, let’s send it over to our terrific reporter, David. David. Hey, Kevin. I heard Rick Carile during that last break talking with the team. He told them, “You can do a lot of great things out there and still lose if you don’t take care of the boards. I want to see more effort, gang, rebounding, everyone involved. That was his only focus.” Kevin. All right, David. Banks Hallebertton good for his six make in a dozen attempts shooting 50% with that basket. Clearly Hallebertton is hunting his shots. He’s not picky and knows exactly how to adjust on the mid-range jump shot. That’s too hard. And here’s Town. And again, New York with the triple. It’s been this way since halftime. Tremendous production from beyond the arc. Well, it’s been a three-point mirage. They came out gunning and not stopped. However, passes to good and you want him taking big shots for you in big moments. That one was as easy as it gets. Well, you don’t want to give him any open shots at this stage. Never mind the layup. Come on now. My goodness. [Applause] Now here’s Towns. Boy, how do you stop catch Carl Anthony Towns? An elite scoring talent with incredible size. Carl Anthony Towns at the line. Two shots. [Applause] The first free throw is good. You can tell is a true modern-day player. He’s got a diverse skill set and he can do so much more than you’re used to seeing from a guy his size at his position. Catching up on the changes for New York. Bridges comes in for Mitchell Robinson and it’s Jaylen Brunson in for Miles McBride. That one falls so he hits both of them. Well, he’s certainly been on target with the free throw. Such an advantage when your bigs can knock him down from the line to the paint. Here’s Toppin. That’s good. It’s Hallebertton with the assist. Hallebertton’s got assist number nine now. Wow, what an effort here tonight. Pass to Hart. Off to Brunson. Now Anobi knees [Applause] recovering. John’s down low. Lions there. Towns finds Anobi. On the clock. Here’s Brunson. Good. Brunson. No fear. Down low. How many times have we seen a possession like that from them today? the basket coming off of well when you look at the assist total is clearly the better team against Brian with the screen for hits the three-point bomb to got seven now in this quarter well making threes is vital for developing his stretch Excuse pass to [Applause] [Music] Hart and an Obi screen on Chopman. Here’s Hart. Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. 15 shots. rebound. And he knocks down the first one. You know, guys, Josh Hart is somebody that’s going to give you everything he’s got. His combination of outside shooting and defense is really quite valuable to any team. Robinson’s checked in for New York. Aua comes in for OG Anubi. Miles Turner, he’s checked in for the Pacers. Pascal Seakum comes in for Chopper and Hart drops them both. Pacers trail by six. Pass to Turner. [Applause] Hallebertton against Brunson. Hallebertton passes to Nemo. Turner for three. Gets rebounded by New York. Hart’s got six rebounds now in the game. And they hold a huge advantage on the back court. That’s been the key to this lead. I mean, they’ve really dominated the glass. Here’s Brunson and it’s sent back by Turner. Oh, these arms have turned just go on forever. I mean, which is part of the reason he’s able to rack up the block shots that he does. Seakum the bounce passen kicks to Seattle. Here is Memo and the three ball is good. And the lack of effort to fight over the screen there makes that an easy shot. Well, I’m going to credit the screen. I mean, that’s a good strong pick he lays there. Yeah, that would put him over the limit. And it’s so early that if they’re not careful, this could turn into a parade at the free throw line. Jaylen Hudson at the line. Two [Applause] shots. Got to get it. Big go. Let’s get it. Get it. Get it. Good job. Big. That one falls for Brunson. And one area where Brunson’s improved is in the clutch. He’s a monster in crunch time. Nice to have a player you can depend on in those key situations. Looking at who’s out there now for the Knicks. Carl Anthony Towns checked in for Mitchell Robinson and Anobi subbed in for Aua. The Pacers also with a sub. Benedict Matine. He’s checked in for Aaron Eastman. And even with one miss, he’s still able to stretch that to a two- possession game. That is huge for them right now. Hard against kicks to Bridges. Lets a floater go. It’s not going to go for Pacers trail by four inside. Turner inside, defended by Towns. Another shot. Towns with the defensive effort. That’s not the type of opportunity he fails to convert very often. The just kind of stepping aside and letting him get to the rim. There’s a reason G the lead is what it is right now. You know, you look at it, the communication is lacking, as is the trust. They can ill afford those types of breakdowns. It won’t work. You can’t win with those kind of break. Here’s Bridges. Pacers with the rebound. Near got his fourth rebound with that last one here tonight. Hey, how about imagining if they were hitting their shots how big the lead could be, but so far that’s not been the case. Callebertton for three. Bridges with the board. Well, he had one three-pointer in the first half, but so far in the second, he’s come up with loose. Good work there as it goes. Bridges got the lead up to eight now for the Knicks. Whatever the defense gives, that’s what he takes. Sign of a skilled offensive player. Hallebertton pass it to Turner. Now, Ziakum with that ball. Nice feed that time from Turner. Yeah, you got to get out on that. Seakkum demonstrating that ability to hurt you from beyond. Here’s Towns and there’s two points to work on the glass paint off that time. Towns has got 43 points against Hallebertton outside Tony for the three and the Pacers another three. Only the one made basket in the fourth. He hasn’t provided them with a whole lot offensive. Brunson against Hallebert and the basket is good and he’s got a chance here for one more at the line. Oh, great make by Brunson. That guy plays way bigger than his size. Fourth personal foul. Teammates over the limit at the [Applause] line. One shot. [Applause] Pacers trail by seven and Rick Carile decides to call timeout. He’s clearly intent on wanting to lock in and make sure everyone’s on the same page. [Applause] for your next seven. [Applause] So it’s the Pacers now. Seakum outside. Jacks up a three. Carl Anthony Towns with the rebound. Towns has got rebound number 15 here tonight. Here’s Brunson. It’s rebounded by Tyrese Hallebertton. Pacers trail by [Applause] seven. Down low. Here’s Seiakum. And it’s in now. That’s 17 points for Seiakum. Massive there from Seakum. We’ve seen him do it in the finals. This guy showing he’s made for big moments. Boy, he really bungled that finish. Indiana’s gone 47 with the long ball here in the fourth quarter. Front pass the arc. The three-pointer is right on target now. Just a two-point New York lead. He’s such a clutch shooter. He just lives for the big shot. Brunson against Hallebertton. And he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot, but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line. And Brunson, a very physical player, someone that understands how to bait defenders into fouling. He doesn’t hit the first. And that was the one they really wanted. He’s got one more though. [Applause] We got this. We got this. And the second of two is good. That makes it a three-point lead. And so it’s Hallebertton who brings up the ball for the Pacers. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. That’s on Jaylen Brunson. Wow. Wow. He got whacked on that one. Shouldn’t be much debate there. Blatant contact. Straightforward call. Simple. [Applause] So the first one drops and that brings them within two here. [Applause] Hellbertton hits them both. He’s got such a smooth stroke and it never changes even in this kind of a high pressure situation. Here’s Brunson. Oh, musling it in. Brunson showing time and time again he is comfortable being that first option. delivery. Pass to back to Hbert to [Applause] pass. And that shot brings them to within just one. And you can’t get a bigger bucket than that. Well, that was one, two. He wanted the ball. Nobody else was taking that shot. Hallebertton against Brunson. The three Bridges and the rebound goes to the Pacers. [Applause] Now him outside here. Are you kidding me? And delivering in the clutch. with zero fear wanting the ball when it matters most. [Applause] a floater and there’s the foul. It’s on Jaylen Brunson. And so he’s picked up his final foul for the rest of this game. Yeah. And luckily they’ve got terrific depth at that position. If there’s one spot on the floor where they can afford to lose somebody, that would probably be [Applause] it. First free throw is good and that will put them up by two. [Applause] And so both free throws are good and it’s a three-point game. That last free throw was critical. Their only choice now is to go for the three to tie. And the timeout called here by Tom Fibino. This is a huge moment, folks, in this game. And he wants to be prepared. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Here’s [Applause] Towns. The rebound by Turn. And now an intentional foul. They need the ball back as soon as possible. Yeah, you can’t let them hold the ball just last seconds away. No, you got to foul. I mean, it’s going to come down the free throws here. You foul right away. He hits the first one and that gives them a four-point cushion and he is unable to get the second one. Can’t waste any time here. No, you need a quick bucket and then a quick foul. Nick Mcry shot is off. He missed that one, but I’ve seen him drill shots from that distance for more. Well, that looked to me, guys, like a heat check. Was maybe a step out of his range. [Applause] gets the first and that puts them up by five. [Applause] So, he gets them both and it’s a six-point ball game. I think it’s a wrap. When the game’s on the line, he knows how to deliver the crushing blow. McBride passes to Towns and again for three. And he is scorching hot right now. He could be on his way to setting a franchise postseason record for this football. He’s caught fire at the right time for this team. Stepped up big in the postseason for him and Rick Carile decides to call timeout. No doubt he is feeling the importance [Applause] of they’re going to prolong the game here with an intentional foul. No choice but to foul here. He’s probably the last guy you want to see. But there was no time really to be selective. Stopping the clock was the priority. He drops the first one and that gives them a four-point [Applause] cushion. And the second free throw, no good. A tough break there. And the Indiana Pacers will move on. What an impressive bit of work. I mean, you think about all the preparation that went into this. It really started in the offse and it then carried right to this moment right here. And of course, the story continues as they now move on to the NBA Finals representing the Eastern Conference. Yeah, tonight they’ll celebrate, but tomorrow it’ll be all
