What he just said has Magic fans PUMPED up…

What Yiannis just said has Magic fans pumped. Look, he is alluding to potentially wanting to play in a Florida city. He held a Q&A just the other day and it is very interesting because there are only two teams in the state of Florida in the NBA. One being the Miami Heat, the other being yours truly, the Orlando Magic. So, we’re going to be talking about any sort of possibility that the Magic could have in these potential sweep stakes for Giannis and Tenkoopo. Also, we’re going to deep dive into potentially who around the NBA is competing for his services. But first, guys, welcome to Magic Digest. I’m your host, Patrick Previty. This is your one-stop shop for Orlando Magic basketball content here on YouTube. Now, you guys have been watching these videos and supporting them so much. I appreciate it. But 30 but 30% of you guys who are watching these videos are subscribed. So, that leaves about 70% of you guys who aren’t. So, make sure to hit that subscribe button and we can continue to build this Orlando Magic basketball community that we have on this platform. Okay, so getting into exactly what he said, as I mentioned, he he held a Q&A and one of the questions because he answered a ton of different questions was, “Out of all of the cities you’ve ever been to, which city made you the happiest to be there, not counting your hometown?” And he said Florida cities. Now, this is assuming that he is excluding the bubble because there were that was like a weird kind of Orlando representation of what that city was and a lot of the NBA players just suffered and didn’t like it just simply because you were in a bubble and you didn’t actually have the ability to go around the city. Now, Orlando and Miami are some great cities, and of course, Miami Heat fans are, and they have been eyeing Giannis for a while, and with that franchise being in a different spot than they were just a year ago, they’re certainly hopping on this and thinking that they’re the better fit. I probably would agree that Miami is certainly a better destination as far as just the possibility and potentially what it could bring for Giannis. and and I think it’s more realistic, but Orlando certainly has some stuff that can be broken down when we talk about this. Now, before I get into exactly what this deal would have to include and where Giannis could potentially go in the NBA, I must preface this by saying this new CBA does not have a hard cap, as in it says it in the collective bargaining agreement, but it is essentially a de facto hard cap. The Magic themselves are dancing around the first apron. And there are a lot of teams in the first and second apron that are getting taxed so heavy that they decide to kind of tear down their team or they assess whether or not it is actually worth it to incur those fines to play in the next basketball season for the NBA. Uh that has changed the way the teams are building and it has changed the way the teams are making trades. So if there were to be a deal that goes down for Giannis, probably would have to include a third team. Now, there have been some reported mock traits and I am also going to present to you guys today, but I definitely think to start this conversation that needs to be recognized. Also adding another thing that I’m going to preface. Giannis hasn’t actually come out and said exactly that he is going to request a trade or that he is seeking something else. He’s just keeping his options open. More than likely is still decompressing from the end of his basketball season. So, we’re going to know more as the draft gets closer and that these playoffs wrap up. what exactly his plan is. I’m sure the Bucks are also patiently waiting on his decision there. So, what exactly could the Orlando Magic offer that would be enticing to the Milwaukee Bucks? Well, I certainly think there are three players and three players that they think that the Orlando Magic fan base probably wouldn’t want to give up, but that the Bucks and their side of things would probably want. One being France Vagner, the other being Jaylen Suggs, and the other being Anthony Black. Now, with those contracts, that would be a deal that could potentially happen, not with a third team. Now, I think avoiding that is probably in the Orlando Magic’s best interest. You don’t want to have to give up Fran Vagner and Jaylen Suggs. That’s essentially the heart of your team, especially with those two guys coupled together in a trade package. But, it should be recognized that they have a poison pill provision. Obviously, that comes on July 1st, the beginning of the new year, the new basketball year. And it would allow this team to make that trade straight up because Giannis is getting paid what, like over 50 million, 52, 54 million, I believe, uh, right now per year for the rest of his deal. So, you’re going to have to, you know, unload some of those big contracts once those take into effect. You can end up making that deal and you wouldn’t need to include much else. You could do that kind of straight up. And I think that would provide the Bucks with a good plan for the future. And I think there are a lot of teams that could potentially match a package like that around the NBA. Obviously, people have been talking about OKC, maybe even Houston Warriors or whatever. But that would be a very interesting piece because you get three young players. I’m including Anthony Black in this. I think France and Jaylen Suggs plus picks might be enough in this sort of scenario, especially if Giannis makes it known or publicly known that this is something that he wants. You can add some leverage to the Orlando Magic’s case in that point. I think that that’s all that it would really need to include. But that is probably option one. Now, option two, because I did try to find if there were if there could be a deal that would be done without those two guys mentioned, a package of KCP, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, and Anthony Black would pass those salary cap requirements. Now, they cannot acquire more than 18.2 million in that deal. So, they would need a third team to be involved in that sort of deal. Now, we’ve seen this over the last handful of years that those third teams will go in for a different kind of perspective. Maybe they are also building for the future or they’re trying to just they’ll acquire maybe some dead cap sort of players or some other uh you know assets that are not valuable because they are also in a rebuilding mode. So, I don’t think that it would be too much of a struggle to find a third player, but I don’t think that that is an enticing enough package for the Bucks to take, especially considering that with Giannis in the fold on the Magic, those picks become a lot less valuable, and there’s not exactly something to look forward to in the future with KCP, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony. There is with Anthony Black, but that’s certainly not anywhere close to being enough. But that, as far as the salary cap is concerned, would be the other option. Maybe you would include a Fron and Anthony Black and you get to keep Jaylen Suggs kind of deal, but I still think that that is playing 2K and that is extremely difficult to actually be able to sell to your fan base as well as to potentially Paulo Bancero. Now Paulo and and Giannis would become probably off the top of my head the best duo in in the NBA. I mean you have two allNBA caliber players, two pretty decent defenders. I mean, obviously Giannis is a great defender, but Paulo Bancer is a really good defender in his own right. And you would have two guys, in my opinion, Giannis being the one with more playoff experience. And I don’t really know in a wideopen Eastern Eastern Conference, who would potentially be stopping that duo. I know the Knicks, Pacers, Pistons, other great teams in the Eastern Conference would give them a run for their money. No doubt about it. But if the Magic could fill out their bench, play smart in free agency with Giannis and Paulo Beno, that could be an amazing option for this team. And I look I I want to I want to keep Fron. I don’t want to give up Jaylen Suggs at all, but it’s Giannis Antono. It’s a little bit of a different case when we’re talking about some of these other trades that I’ve mentioned in previous videos. Now, Giannis coming off another great season. What is going on with the Bucks right now? As I mentioned, I wanted to get into this overall perspective from the NBA. This would be a monstrous trade. Now, does anything match Luca Donis to the Lakers? I don’t know if anything will match Luca Donis to the Lakers in our lifetime. But when you got a guy averaging 30 points, 12 boards, six and a half assists, and shoots 60% from the field, you’re going to end up turning into an immediate championship contender if you can at least fill out some of that roster. with the Bucks right now. Damen Lillard having torn his Achilles probably out and for the entirety of next season and after trading Chris Middleton plus not being in the greatest salary cap position, it seems like the Bucks could be due for a reset. Or would you want to retool with Giannis? I think that they’re probably going to opt to retool with Giannis, but that is from their perspective something that they definitely have to look into and be genuine about what their future holds. So, as I mentioned, I did want to talk about uh some of the other teams that might potentially want to make a move for Giannis. I think a lot of people mentioned OKC before they made it to the Western Conference Finals. I think right now OKC probably just stands pat and develops JDub, Chad Holgrren, and waits for SGA to get to that superstar mega hall of fame kind of level. He’s already pretty much like on that progress and on that path. So, I think that they’re going to stay with what they got. And I don’t know if they exactly want to team up Giannis with SGA. They have an amazing timeline. So I think that they’re probably out, but they obviously can give the best package of any team in the NBA just simply because of the assets that they have. The Warriors on the other hand probably don’t have as much. And their salary cap situation is probably even more complicated. But with Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and if you add Giannis to that fold, I mean, of course, they are one of the prohibitive favorites to win the NBA championship. So, they could potentially be uh they they have reason to end up giving up a ton of different stuff, especially stuff in the future. Those first round picks way way down the road, maybe potentially after Steph Curry has retired, will be extremely valuable, but does is that anything of interest in the Bucks? I don’t really think so. For the Rockets, maybe you give up Jaylen Green. He’s obviously in a lot of trade talks right now. that could be something that interests the Milwaukee Bucks as far as getting you get a pretty much a bonafide two and then you just build from there and then you you get picks, accumulate picks. Maybe there’s a third team involved in that trade and you get more value more value from them. Uh as far as that is concerned, I doubt the Bucks want to trade within the Eastern Conference, which is another thing, but still a very interesting possibility. And it’s interesting he didn’t have to answer that question that he mentioned Florida City like in a plural way. So, he wasn’t just leaving it to Miami because he could have simply just said Miami. Uh, Giannis is a very loyal person. I don’t think that he’s going to be on the move, but Jeff Welman was a part of that Bucks front office that did end up drafting him 12 years ago. So, that is also another little bit of a factor whenever it comes down to this. So, it should be very interesting. Obviously, this front office is very, very familiar with Giannis, having also played him in a handful of years uh and being in the Magic’s front office. So, uh it’s very interesting. Let me know what you guys think down in the comments section below.

  1. No thanks
    Giannis already has a ring
He’s more hungry for the bag than the ring
Let’s please not mortgage our future for a superstar like this
    Love Giannis
    But not for my Magic

  2. Not if we have to give any of our two guys Paolo or Franz. Anything else let’s do it get him to Orlando.

  3. Paolo and Giannis on the same team seems like a lot of redundancy. I think we’d be better off using our assets to acquire shooters and a reliable floor general

  4. Giannis to the Magic simply doesn't make sense (0%). You already have two excellent finishers who excel in the paint. Your team desperately lacks shooting, so why would you add another player whose primary strength is also attacking the basket? Among all possible destinations, Orlando would be the absolute worst fit for Giannis.

  5. does Giannis make any sense in terms of roles? (this is my question before watching the video)

  6. It’s crazy some Magic fans don’t look at the big picture. imagine Giannis at center instead of Wendell or Goga. That would be front line that would give teams fits. Get the chip and then Magic can trade him for more assets in future. But same time I feel Trae young would be better fit in long run. I rather give Suggs or KCP. Giannis can score in the post, block and defend paint.

  7. If he comes to Florida. It will be Miami. I cannot really recall a blockbuster trade the Magic have ever done. Plus, Miami always gets the best stars than orlando.

  8. As a Bucks fan I am conerned about the long term future of the team. We have no future going forward and if Giannis stays and retires with the team we are looking at a 10-15 year rebuild with no draft picks or talented young players. I believe there is only 1 path forward and that is to trade Ginnis. Orlando's offer certainly is intruging. Franz would be able to help the team win right away. However I we are trading Giannis I almost would prefer a complete rebuild.

  9. Paolo for Giannis….otherwise you’ll be paying Paolo, Franz and Giannis…and Jalen. Giannis will be good for another 4 years at least. If history is a lesson, when we extend Paolo the possibilities of him staying here more than 5 years is very small. Especially if we don’t win…

  10. I love Giannis and I love Banchero but they are both PFs who have a very similar set of skills. Does Giannis have to switch to C? Or even use him as a PG? Because as they are now you can't have them both on the court stepping over one another.

  11. I’ve been a Magic fan for 35 years. One thing I do know Orlando is not Finna push the envelope. They are not Finna make a blockbuster trade. They never did it and none of these years.

  13. Nope. We have our duo cornerstone. We just need a knockdown 3 floor general PG with defensive potential. That will take Franz n Paolo to the next level.

  14. Blazers Anfernee Simons trade talk ..

The podcast Lock on blazers been covering it , has like 2 or 3 post about it …
