Well, welcome again to Wager Talk TV. I’m Ross Benjamin of wageralk.com and I’ll be covering game five of the NBA uh Western Conference Finals between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder. I have winner a winner in that contest and I’ll get to that very shortly. You know, folks, I’ve read the comments um over the last couple days, and I acknowledge the fact the last couple free pick videos have been horrible. Just not even close. Okay, so with the NBA, I should say. Um, and I acknowledge that and I’m fully aware of it. And some of the comments, I try to read them all. Some of them are just totally disrespectful and indicate that I suck. I don’t know what I’m doing. And I’ve been doing this for two plus decades, folks, professionally and in the public eye. All of my picks get documented. Let me explain something to you real quick. When it comes to free picks, anybody who does this professionally and it’s and is worth their weight in gold isn’t going to give you one of their best picks of the day or the best pick of the day in these free pick videos. That’s why we sell our best picks because we’re good at what we do. Yesterday we were way off on the free pick video in the Knicks in Indiana game. Okay. But and you know my premium paid selection on Indiana minus 132 on the money line one easily. Okay. And I’ve won six of my last eight in the NBA with my premium picks and 142 and 102 uh since 2022 with my NBA playoff picks. So, you know, it the results speak volumes. They’re all documented. As opposed to 99% of you out there who give out your picks and tell me what your record is, uh, I am exposed every day to that. So, and in terms of betting angles, that’s another thing. Um, and I think this is I don’t like doing this because, uh, I’m going to get some comments with people who are going to be smartasses. There’s no two ways about it. and other people who have been following me for over the last year plus here at Wager Talk TV that know I’ve made them a lot of money over the last year even with these free picks. Uh but the bottom line is this with the uh betting angles folks. I would challenge any one of you to research yourself what I’m giving you in a betting angle um and see if anything I’m giving you is inaccurate. I challenge you to do so because I’m telling you everything I’m giving you is accurate. You never hear anything about betting angles when they win, but you do hear about them when they lose. And some people still calling them trends. A trend is something that is uh related to a teamspecific situation. A betting angle is a leaguewide algorithm or situation and the results hence thereof. So in any event, let’s get to the meat and potatoes. Oklahoma City is a 8 1/2 point favorite. This opened at 8 1/2. It stayed at 8 1/2. The money seems to be split 5050 uh on the point spread betting when it comes to uh either side. Um, I like the way Minnesota’s competed over the last two games at home. I know that they didn’t play well in the first two at Oklahoma City and Oklahoma City is a strong homec court team. I get all that, but you know, they blew out Oklahoma City in game three, put up 143 points, and they suffered a narrow two-point loss in game four. Um the last two games against a very good Oklahoma City defense, defensive team I should say, uh they’ve scored 126 and 143 points. Uh Minnesota, by the way, couple short team trends in season betting ankles. When I say short, a short sample size, the Minnesota Timberwolves 3-0 against the spread this year off a home loss as an away underdog. So 3-0 ATS is an away underdog off a home loss. And there’s only been three times that’s occurred. They covered all three. They won two to three outright. Their average point spread in those three games was plus 7.1. As a matter of fact, one of those two straightup wins came at Oklahoma City as a 12-point underdog. Minnesota’s also 3-0 straight up in ATS this season. That’s a trend, okay? A team trend when they’re coming off a loss by five or less in which they allowed 120 points or more. They allowed 128 in the previous game. They only lost the game by two. And they’ve gone 3 and 0 straight up in ATS in that situation this year. and they won those games by an average of 18 points per game and two of the three games were played on the road and in those three contest they only allowed 101.7 points per game. Those are in season team trends with the same relatively same personnel and exactly the same coaching staff. That’s I I specify that uh because that’s of major importance whenever you talk about a team trend. What’s the coaching staff? What’s the personnel? How long have they been there? Have they been intact for a while? I like myself to look at inseason team trends this late in the year and since 2021. This is a betting angle. This is leaguewide. And I’m going to try to dumb it down for you guys. Not all you guys, but some of the smart asses out there. Uh 2021, since the 2021 NBA playoffs, away underdogs like Minnesota, uh away underdogs of nine or less that are coming off a home loss by seven points or less, nine-0 straight up in ATS. Not only are they they covered all nine, they won all nine outright. Now, I’m not going to call for an outright upset win here. I’m not going to go out on a limb like that because if they want to give me eight and a half points and that goes with anybody anytime they give you points, don’t get greedy. Take the points. Um and in any event, that’s a 9 and0 straight up in ATS leaguewide trend in the NBA playoffs since 2021. NBA playoff away underdogs of nine or less coming off a home loss by seven or fewer like Minnesota is 9 and0 straight up in ATS winning by 11 points per game. Also another uh something of note that you should really know when it comes to game five situations where an away underdog of nine or less is facing elimination. 8-2 against the spread. those away underdogs of nine or less have gone since 2021. Take it for what it’s worth. For those of you who don’t believe in that kind of stuff, that’s, you know, more power to you. Um, watch TV, watch the game, and then overreact the next game because over the long haul, if you’re watching it, the odds makers are watching it, too. It’s about beating a number, folks. It’s not about how much you know. It’s not about what happened in the last game specifically with players, okay? It’s about beating the number. Haven’t done a good job with that in the last two videos, but again, my NBA playoff picks, premium playoff picks are 142 and 102, 58% and uh plus 113 units since 2022. As much as this has been a disappointing NBA postseason this year, I’m still up 113 units since 2022. That’s all documented by wageralk.com.
