How can the Celtics remain contenders while needing to shed salary? | Christian Arcand Show
on in with the Pat McAfee show. I think that was yesterday, the day before saying that the Celtics will have a very different roster next year. It’s Christian Arcan show here. We wi coming to you live in Boston, Portland, and Taco, Upper Valley, Keen, Bradleboroough, Springfield, Worcester, Providence, Cape Cod, and the Islands. If you’re not in any of those places, you can stream the show or listen on demand anytime. Just download the Odyssey app. That’s audacy. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Shams is right about what he’s saying. I don’t think he has firm ironclad details. I don’t think anyone does yet because the season’s still going on. I’m sure Brad Stevens has already begun his off season. There’s a lot of other teams that aren’t playing right now. I’m sure he’s on the phone. Sugar’s trying to figure out how to navigate through what is going to be a very difficult uh couple of couple of months here with the money, with the contracts, with I think what you are looking at now is uh players that you valued very highly. You valued Jaylen Brown, Drew Holiday, Porzingis, uh Sam Hower. You gave all those guys very high valuations. And by you, I mean not just uh you fans listening out there, but Brad Stevens and the team. They extended all of these guys. They gave them all contracts. They kept the whole team together except for O’Shea Brousette. That poor guy. Although he’s probably I don’t even know where Ohea Brassette is right now, but he’s probably saying, “Glad I missed this.” Where’s O’Shea Brassette, Zach? You look like you want to tell me. Looking it up right now. Okay. I don’t really care where he is, but I think that there’s no way to proceed with this roster and the shape that it’s in with the injuries that you have and the money that’s owed and everything else. The only way you could have really proceeded is if you made it to the finals. And I don’t even say win the fin. If you had made it to another finals then and Tatum didn’t rupture his Achila, you know, all that stuff didn’t happen, then you could have maybe squeezed out one more year of this group together. But a combination of all of these things, where’s OAD? 76ers. Okay. Not having more fun. No, probably not. Definitely not having more fun, but you know, no expectations in Philly these days. Maybe you can go on Paul George’s podcast. That’s true, right? That’s what you do now. He’s got to talk to everybody, you know? You gota It’s It’s a podcast game. You got to crank out content. Well, who’s around? Ohea Brousette, come on. You’d be on the podcast this week. Okay, cool. Let’s talk about that time you were on the Celtics. Wasn’t that awesome? Yeah, we won the championship. Great. This has been the Paul George show. Uh, if you if you bring back a team the way they did, you’re really rolling the dice. Number one, it cost the Gross Becks the team really. I mean, I know that they made a lot of money, but they had to sell. They had to sell the team. They weren’t able to sustain that type of money and the aprons and the additional fees and the taxes and all that stuff. It just the old man looked at it and said, “No, no, no. This isn’t this isn’t a good uh financial decision for our family anymore.” And he pulled the plug. That was that. uh you look at it and think that well you can say that with a core intact the way it is you can still build around some of these players and to an extent I agree yes you can you can still build around Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown if you think that that’s a duo going forward one with a ruptured Achilles another coming off of a to patella tendon tear which or not what was it what did he tear was it his patellar tendon no miniscus to meniscus excuse me not patellar tendon he tore his miniscus which not all the time, but sometimes has been a career altering type of injury that’s happened before. Ask Time Lord, you know, like he had he had meniscus issues and they did that quick and dirty surgery so he could play in the playoffs that year and he hasn’t been the same since then. And Jaylen Brown, as much as you like him and as big a fan as you may be of him, is prone to injuries and does seem to have these things pop up at various points. I mean, he plays a rough style of ball and he does get hurt. Jason Tatum may not be the same after this ruptured Achilles. Everything about this team that you thought and that you were planning for and that I think they were planning for has been turned upside down. And I still think that Celtics fans are a little bit in shock and not really accepting this, not really accepting what’s going to happen. I was reading through like Twitter replies, which I know is not a great indicator of humanity, but sometimes that’s all you got. And I’m reading what the Shams replies and they’re like, “Oh, Shams doesn’t know about the he doesn’t know Brad Stevens. Brad Stevens isn’t going to listen to him.” And it’s like, “Do you think that they are going to keep this whole team together again for another year? You nuts?” Grock, do you think Shams knows what he’s talking about? I, by the way, I cannot stand this. Every time you go on Twitter now, someone says something and someone replies and goes, “Grock, is that true?” And it’s like, is this what we’ve become now as a society? And again, it’s Twitter. It’s not real society. I get that. But like it happens a lot. Saddon Raf for the however many time Brian Beao doesn’t make it through the fifth inning. Grock, is this true? Yes. It’s You need Grock to tell you. I’m very concerned by the impact AI is having on young people these days. I think people who are really like people are addicted to it and it’s become it’s become damaging I think. And not just on Twitter, I mean everywhere. I know I’m going way off track, but you know, like it’s Grock, is this true? I don’t know. Why don’t you think about it for two seconds, you idiot? Instead of asking Elon Musk’s AI bot, which I’m sure is programmed totally without any kind of bias at all, you know. Sorry for getting political. Uh 6177797937. There’s your phone number. We’ll get more into the Celtics later on in the show. Uh, actually, let’s take one uh one call because I just saw a saw this call pop up on the line. Uh, Tino is down the cape. Hey, Tino. Hey. Hey, Tino. I got a qu I got a question. Here’s my trade proposal. Okay. All right. Trade trade Holiday, Porzingis, and Brown to the Mavericks for the number one pick for Cooper Flag. essentially Drew Holidayiday, Chris Porzingis, and Jaylen Brown to Dallas for the number one pick. I would think that Dallas would say we’re listening on Jaylen Brown. You can keep Porzingis in and Drew Holiday. Porzingis, we already had him and no one can identify exactly what’s wrong with him either, which is still all this time later and we still haven’t gotten a diagnosis on the guy. You know, the season ended three weeks ago. No one no one’s going to tell us what’s wrong with Porzingis. And Drew Holiday I like, but I don’t know that there’s a ton of value for him. I think that you may not you may not be looking at a team like Dallas, a lottery team as a good match for Drew Holiday. I think that Drew Holiday would either be one of those contracts that gets sort of, you know, an expiring type contract in a year or two that some team finds some value in or a good team that is young like, I don’t know, Houston or something and they need some veteran leadership, that type of thing. I could see that. You know, they got Van Vleet and Dylan Brooks like Drew Holidayiday, I think, could have a good influence on a team like that on a on a young team just like he did here. But also, I’m not sure what he’s got left in the tank either. He missed a bunch of games in that Orlando series. He was useless uh against the Knicks the whole the whole series. crazy. He was didn’t do anything. So, I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on with any of these guys. I don’t know what their value is right now. Jaylen Brown even with the meniscus. Like, would they take the first overall pick just for Jaylen Brown? Probably have to throw in some more draft picks of your own. I don’t know. I don’t know if that would get it done right now. What what is Jaylen Brown’s value around the league at this point with the season that he just had, the way it ended, and the fact that he played through a torn meniscus for the last month, month plus, that doesn’t make a guy more appealing in the open circuit.

I want to hear more about how biased the evil Elon Musk is, everyone in Boston is an expert on politics because they voted senile into office for 4 years and then voted to re-elect him for four more years. If only everyone could have the wisdom of Boston neo-marxist trash.
