But this trade would see the Utah Jazz receiving John Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies receiving Keonte George, KJ Martin, a number 20 or 2025 first round draft pick, a 2027 first round draft pick, a 20 first round draft pick from the Lakers, and a 2029 second round draft pick. So, truthfully speaking, like if I’m the Utah Jazz and you have a chance to get John Morance, that would be phenomenal. Now, I’m not 100% sure if John Morance would want to play in Utah. I’m not too sure if he were to be on the trade market where he would want to go, but Utah is obviously not everyone’s cup of tea in regards to a basketball market. It’s a tremendous place to live. It’s a tremendous city. Utah’s great, but John Morant going to Utah, especially for the long term, might not make the most sense. Um, Utah Jazz have a hard time acquiring talent, unless that of course it is through the draft. So, if they want to go out and trade away those draft picks, trade away those younger talent uh for John Morant, I love this for the Utah Jazz. Like, when John Morant’s healthy, he’s a tremendous player. But last thing you want is a player sort of like Donovan Mitchell who’s not going to stay there for the long term and they’re going to keep him for the short term and flip him. Like, I think if you’re Utah, you want to go out there and get John Morant and keep him for the foreseeable future. And that’s possible. But John, the last couple years in Memphis, it’s been a little bit turbulent. There’s been suspensions, there’s been injuries, but when healthy, this guy’s a superstar. I think him going to Utah for this draft or for this Hall of draft picks, as well as Keonte George and KJ Martin, that’s a great trade for the Jazz. Now, for the Memphis Grizzlies, and they want to shop John Morant, I understand them wanting to get a little bit younger uh and maybe getting back some more draft picks and maybe going through a bit of a transition period that way. So, it’s not a terrible package, but just apples to apples this trade alone, I think the Utah Jazz win this without a doubt. But as always, leave your thoughts.
