Back in 2018, during the NBA draft, the Kings made the decision to draft Marvin Baggley over Luca Donuch, who was taken just one pick later. The Kings would end up moving on from Baggley less than four seasons into his career. while Donuch went on to become one of the faces of the NBA. Or what about the time when the Kings dealt Tyrese Hallebertton to Indiana to acquire Demodus Sabonis to help build around De’aran Fox? Well, just a few years later and the Kings traded De’aran Fox to San Antonio for pennies on the dollar and Sabonis’ future in Sacramento is extremely murky. However, on the other side of the deal, Indiana’s reached back-to back conference finals and have an established top 10 player in the NBA with Tyrese Hallebertton. The Sacramento Kings have been in basketball purgatory for what feels like forever.
