Karl Malone was born on July 24, 1963, in Summerfield, Louisiana, and stands 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) tall. He played college basketball at Louisiana Tech University before being drafted 13th overall by the Utah Jazz in the 1985 NBA Draft.
Malone played 19 NBA seasons, retiring in 2004, mostly with the Jazz and one season with the Lakers. Known as βThe Mailmanβ for always delivering, he was a 2-time NBA MVP, 14-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA First Team member, and ranks second all-time in career points scored at the time of his retirement. He also won 2 Olympic gold medals and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
