As a rookie, Jared McCain’s game was surprisingly polished, and now so are his nails. If it weren’t for an injury, the 16th overall pick was well on his way to being rookie of the year. Instead, he’ll have to settle for being the NBA’s unique entrepreneur of the year after launching his own line of nail polish. It’s not something you associate with athletes, but it’s enjoying a resurgence among male celebrities. Superstars like Harry Styles, Tyler the Creator, and Machine Gun Kelly all have their own lines with McCain the first NBA player to join the party. After getting hurt in December, McCain had plenty of time on his hands. So, he went into the lab and created five different shades, something he’d been working on since his college days at Duke. Rookie red, net neutral, bucket blue, goat gold, and point guard pink are what he sports on the court. And now he’s turned it into a business.
