STEPH, GIANNIS AND DURANT IN GOLDEN STATE? PERCKINS SAYS THE WARRIORS ARE UP TO SOMETHING BIG

STEPH, GIANNIS AND DURANT IN GOLDEN STATE? PERCKINS SAYS THE WARRIORS ARE UP TO SOMETHING BIG

I think this off season might be the most craziest ever. You have the parody in the league. It’s so thin right now. Like as far as the thin line of where you can win a championship or you might be falling into the lottery and I think the the ability to go out there and improve your team and get there to championship level, I think that’s on the minds of everyone around the league. Okay, so that’s sort of the setup. So the offseason is not all that far away and the first name everyone is going to be talking about is Giannis. I think there’s an expectation we could see something happen with Giannis pretty quickly when the NBA offseason begins. So, let’s do our favorite thing. Let’s do math, shall we? Let’s do a mathematical equation. Monica McNut, I’m beginning with you. Pineapple Jack and a Jets helmet because why not? Here we go. Here’s our math. Okay, we got Giannis plus which team would equal an NBA championship? Well, in this equation, a Greeny Professor Greenberg, uh, does time matter. I mean, you tell me. All right. Well, for with the information given, I’m going to go San Antonio Spurs, ladies and gentlemen. San Anton. Tell me why. That’s the answer. Um, well, I just think that would be a monster lineup. I mean, Victor Winyama, they’ve got great point guard play. They’ve got a supporting cast. I mean, obviously some of it will look different if you add Giannis, but I think you bring that championship pedigree um to a market similar to OKC in that no frrills, no fuss, let’s just play basketball and figure out how to win at a high level. I think that would be a problem, a wrecking ball for the league. Spurs. Yes. Yes. I was thinking about it already. Look, they got the second and the fourth team pick. They have some draft capital. They, you know, they can say, you know, we’ve got something to give you back in your build. And they have to give up a really good young player. I’m not giving up Castle, period. I hang up the phone cuz if I can keep Wim Banyama and Castle and De’aran Fox and you add Giannis, come on now. But you got to trade something. You do. You got You got the second and 14 picks. You got Vassel. You got what other uh Castle I’m not saying. I’m not getting ready. Hang up the phone. Is Is that your Let me get Wendy in here. Do I have Wendy? I have Wind. Yes. Thank you. Brian Winhorse. How about this? Let’s not put the cart before the horse. We’re talking about how nice it would look to put Giannis on the San Antonio Spurs. Is it a realistic possibility? It’s realistic because the Spurs definitely have the assets to both trade for Giannis and have a contending team on the other side of it. But I got to tell you, you have to compute what Giannis may want. And it’s not a commentary on Victor or the Spurs. I’m listening to Chris Finch last night from the Timberwolves saying that next year he thinks 13 teams in the Western Conference could be trying to win and that you go you could have a great season and go 42 and 40 and I didn’t disagree with them and I think Giannis will see that too. The move for Giannis if he has a control is to go to the East. Wow. I you know and Granny Wendy I thought about that in my answer. I really thought about that in my answer, but I don’t know where he would go in the East. That is clo Well, Boston, is that real? That Wendy, is that real? Like, I had KD in Boston in my head, too. Like, but I don’t think that’s real. If you’re thinking about I mean, depending upon the time gap with Jason Tatum, if you’re if you have a lot of contracts to move off of, I mean, if you’re trying to blow it up and reset, there are people in this city in New York that would like Giannis. Also, win. What are So, so look, you opened the door. What are the teams we should have an eye on in the Eastern Conference if that is part of his thinking? Well, again, I think you have to look at the teams that could make a trade for Giannis that the Bucks would accept and on the other side of the trade would have a contending team. So, see, I don’t agree on the list. Boston may be the only one, but then but then on the other side of it, go ahead, Randy. I I think New York would be on that list. Um, you know, there’s some re there’s some difficulties when you talk about aprons and second apron teams trying to make trades and that’s a reality, but there are some teams on the Eastern Conference you could construct an ability to get this done. Miami, I know we joked about it. I know we joked about it. I I and I keep saying it and I know we say everybody comes to New York for visitations and but the the dude went to New York and San Francisco for vacation with his family to walk around. Yeah. D spends a lot of time over in Europe. Warm places. You want to get the hell away from the United States. That’s where he always I’m just saying. I don’t know. Look, maybe he wanted to see a couple of Broadway shows. I really enjoyed Death Becomes Her. George Clooney is on Broadway right now. He might have liked that. Okay, I got another mathematical equation. We got Kevin Durant this math. math. I love math. Look, you guys all played your sports, okay? I went to school. Here we go. We got Kevin Durant plus what team equals an NBA champion? Jay will Anthony Edwards. That’s a team. Yeah. KD. Oh, yeah. I got Minnesota. Yeah. Minnesota. Anthony. Well, he is Minnesota, correct? He’s not moving. Tell me why. So if if you put KD on that team last night, well, it depends upon what other assets that they had to replace him with. But I think just offensively, it it it it relieves him from trying to do everything. And I actually think those pieces are extremely complimentary. We talk about Aunt taking the next step in his career. I think there’s nobody better to help him do that than KD. And it feels like that’s KD and A Edwards against the world. Houston. Houston. That’s me. Michael likes Houston. And Monica likes Houston. Yeah. Yeah. I just think that Houston has both what Monica described perfectly, which is necessary. You’ve got the assets to acquire him and then on the other side, you got enough players that roster. I mean, look, look at what Houston just did. A lot of good young players. Yeah, they’re the two seed in the West. Two seed in the West. So, I just see K I see KD now more as a finisher. Jay, I I don’t know that I want Look, as great as KD is, it’s an all-time great. His team just finished 12th. Yeah, 12th. And he’s got Deon Booker running with him. So, I need to see a complete roster that KD is joining and he brings the might as a closer. Wendy, what should we be looking at when it comes to Kevin Durant? Well, first off, and and I and I’m cognizant of going and doing, you know, talking about things that almost happened being a tiresome storyline. In the wake of the trade deadline, it became clear to me just how significant and how hard Minnesota tried to get Kevin Durant at the trade deadline. Now, it was a herculean effort because both of those teams were in the second apron, but there was a point in this year where Minnesota was very interested in making this happen. And as they looked at that beast defensively that they had to deal with last night, I could see them considering revisiting this. However, I got to say two things. They have an ownership change about to happen and their general president uh Tim Connelly can opt out of his contract. He can become a free agent this summer. So, they got to make sure that’s taken care of plus their ownership transition. There’s a lot of moving parts, but I think absolutely Minnesota should be on that list. Okay. So, we’ll keep an eye on all these things. These are all things that will start. Wendy has made this point here perhaps before the the draft because a lot of these trades are going to happen for draft picks. So, we’re talking about, you know, the NBA draft being basically a Welcome back, Warriors Nation. You’re tuned in to Warriors Nation News, the home for diehard Golden State fans who live and breathe blue and gold. Whether you’re catching us from the Bay Area or anywhere around the world, today’s story is one of discovery, opportunity, and potentially the next big name to wear the Dubs jersey. So grab your coffee, rep that Steph jersey, and let’s dive into the Warriors next potential diamond in the rough. A young Australian talent who’s turning heads and could soon be making waves at Chase Center. The Golden State Warriors have never shied away from thinking outside the box when it comes to roster building. Yes, we’ve had our big three, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, anchoring a dynasty, but time and again, this franchise has proven it knows how to find hidden gems. Names like Juan Tossano Anderson, discovered while playing in Mexico, and Guis Santos, who showed flashes of promise this season, are just a couple of examples of the Warriors eye for untapped potential. Now, the front office might be preparing to strike gold again. This time from down under. The Warriors are set to host an invitational mini camp in the coming days. A space traditionally reserved for evaluating unheralded prospects and players who may have slipped through the cracks. One of the names invited this year is 24year-old Australian forward Alex Higgins Titcher. If you haven’t heard that name yet, don’t worry. You might be hearing a lot more of it soon. Higgins titer has been making a name for himself in Australia’s NBL suiting up last season for the Kairen’s Taipans. He averaged a modest 6.2 points per game, but raw stats don’t tell the whole story. His real impact, defense, hustle, and relentless energy. He’s also a 383 standout and helped team Australia capture gold at the Asia Cup. This is a player who knows what it means to grind, to build his resume brick by brick. He might not come with the flash of a lottery pick, but his game is built on effort, physicality, and a willingness to do the dirty work. Sound familiar? That’s because we’ve seen similar bluecollar players thrive in Golden State system before. Let’s not forget the Warriors once gave a chance to Brian, the custodian Cardinal, who went on to enjoy a 12-year NBA career. This franchise has a history of taking long shots and turning them into contributors. And according to Andre Williams from Lobbeck’s Higgins teachers agency, the invitation to this mini camp is no accident. Williams said, “This invitation to the GSW mini camp is a testament to Alex’s relentless dedication and hard work. He’s put in the effort, stayed focused, and earned this opportunity through sheer commitment.” That’s the kind of mindset that aligns with the Warriors culture. Let’s talk strategy for a second. The Warriors current payroll is already projected to be around $170 million, just under the luxury tax threshold. With only nine players under contract, Golden State is expected to add five more. That leaves a lot of space and frankly a big need for lowcost, high upside talent like Higgins Titer. And in a league where developmental pieces can blossom into playoff contributors, adding a versatile forward who’s hungry and has international experience could be the kind of low-risk, highreward move that pays dividends, especially in the grueling 82 game season where depth is king. This is also a clear signal the Warriors are staying aggressive, creative, and flexible in how they rebuild around Steph and the remaining core. While some teams play it safe, Golden State keeps their options open, always looking for the next underdog story. So, what does this all mean for the Dub Nation, it means the Warriors are not just sitting on their hands during the off season? They’re doing their homework, turning over every rock and giving guys like Alex Higgins Ticha a legitimate shot to prove they belong in the NBA. And that’s something every Warriors fan should be excited about. We’ve seen what this front office can do with a long shot. And with roster spots still open and a clear need for youthful energy and defensive grit, Higgins Titcha might just have a real opportunity to carve out a role here. Whether he ends up on the main roster, gets a two-way contract or finds his way to Santa Cruz to develop further. This is a story line to watch closely. And hey, this is what makes following the Warriors so much fun. It’s not just about the superstars. It’s about watching the journey, the grind, the unexpected breakouts, the underdogs who turn into household names. Now, we want to hear from you, Warriors Nation. Have you seen Alex Higgins Titcha play? Do you think the Warriors should take a chance on an international prospect like him? Which under the radar player from Warriors history is your favorite?
