Are we about to have a boring off-season? πŸ€” #nba #nbanews #basketball

This might be the most boring NBA offseason we’ve ever seen. And it’s not because teams don’t want to make moves. It’s because they’re too broke to do so. The league put in new rules to stop super teams. And well, it’s working because now if you spend too much money, you can’t trade picks. You can’t combine contracts. You basically can’t do anything. And guess what? Almost every good team is already over that line. We’re talking the Celtics, the Knicks, and the Suns. They’re all locked up. Even fringe contenders like the Timberwolves can barely breathe. Let’s just take Julius Randall as an example. He’s got a $30 million player option, but if he chooses to test the market for more money, it probably won’t go the way he expects it to because his options aren’t the Lakers or the Heat. It’s more like the Nets and the Hornets. Because to put it simply, contenders can’t even afford to call the man. And that’s the case for pretty much everybody this summer. The NBA offseason used to feel like the Wild West. But now it’s a spreadsheet with handcuffs. And unless you’re hyped to see somebody like Tobias Harris sign with Detroit, this might be the most forgettable summer in NBA history.

  1. Disagree. The rule to stop super teams means that we won't see the usual Celtics-Lakers at the finals. I like the fact we see underrated players like Pascal Siakam or OG Anunoby get highlights. You just dislike watching basketball that isnt Super teams vs Super teams.

  2. I do not want to see the New Orleans Pelicans vs the Los Angeles Clippers just because all the other teams can’t have a super team and we have to get the most random finals matchups of all time
